This is BBC Newsline and these are the headlines this Monday

:00:12.:00:18.

evening: The conclusions of an investigation

:00:19.:00:19.

into a child protection body are described as shocking.

:00:20.:00:23.

Relief for farmers over EU funding but fears continue over peace

:00:24.:00:25.

A rural Orange hall is badly damaged by arsonists.

:00:26.:00:32.

A row over an inquiry into alleged Irish ticket touting

:00:33.:00:34.

And a big shock for team Ireland as the Golden girl from London 2012,

:00:35.:00:53.

boxer Katie Taylor, is out. You know, I came in here prepared very

:00:54.:00:59.

well, I gave it my best shot and it just didn't happen.

:01:00.:01:01.

I'll be back with a look at how the rest of the week is shaping up.

:01:02.:01:10.

Social workers have described as shocking

:01:11.:01:11.

the content of a report into child protection.

:01:12.:01:16.

The report follows an independent review of the Safeguarding Board

:01:17.:01:19.

It has been criticised for not sharing vital information

:01:20.:01:24.

in some cases and for failing to set up a panel

:01:25.:01:27.

Our health correspondent Marie-Louise Connolly

:01:28.:01:29.

Protecting children from harm is a huge responsibility from the -- for

:01:30.:01:50.

the Department of Health. To improve how that works, the safeguarding

:01:51.:01:53.

board was established. Made up of representatives including the

:01:54.:01:57.

police, health trusts and social services, it aimed to establish

:01:58.:02:00.

greater communication between groups sought to better protect children.

:02:01.:02:05.

However, an independent review led by Professor Alexis Jay said the

:02:06.:02:08.

board failed and what it was asked to do. Now appointed to lead the

:02:09.:02:13.

National inquiry into child sex abuse, her findings here have caused

:02:14.:02:18.

alarm. The report, I have to be honest was quite shocking, firstly

:02:19.:02:26.

with the clarity, and it was very clear the concerns, but also Alexis

:02:27.:02:29.

did not hold back from things difficult things that were hard to

:02:30.:02:33.

read as a professional social worker. It is a highly critical

:02:34.:02:36.

report which I led to the board spent too much time on wrong issues.

:02:37.:02:40.

But tensions existed between those at the top and a lack of structure

:02:41.:02:48.

provided, prevented vital information being shared. For

:02:49.:02:50.

example, on that board, if the medical profession agreed to share

:02:51.:02:53.

with the trusts, everybody else, for example the mental health and

:02:54.:02:56.

well-being of the parent, and then the becomes unwell, they can share

:02:57.:02:59.

that information with the social worker who can take preventative

:03:00.:03:04.

action. It is that critical sharing of information that helps us to work

:03:05.:03:08.

preventively rather than waiting until the incident happens. While

:03:09.:03:11.

the review does not the children were harmed as a result of poor

:03:12.:03:14.

practice, it does say that the proper mechanisms were not in place

:03:15.:03:18.

for properly recording children's deaths. We do have children who die

:03:19.:03:23.

in unexpected circumstances. Particularly our adolescence. And

:03:24.:03:29.

what she says in this report is that the overview panel had not been set

:03:30.:03:32.

up but there is too many processors and a lot of confusion about who

:03:33.:03:37.

gets what information when a child dies, particularly when it is

:03:38.:03:40.

unexpected. That has to be streamlined and it has to be clear

:03:41.:03:44.

what happens. One of the running themes in this review is the lack of

:03:45.:03:48.

communication that existed between the various organisations in place

:03:49.:03:52.

to protect children. But perhaps equally shocking is the fact that

:03:53.:03:57.

very few people who work in this area have been informed of the

:03:58.:04:00.

review's recommendations, or have even been told that the report has

:04:01.:04:06.

been published. The review makes 11 recommendations, including that the

:04:07.:04:12.

board is notified of all deaths and children who have been significantly

:04:13.:04:16.

harmed. Job protection must be prioritised. A review of staff roles

:04:17.:04:20.

and grades should be undertaken immediately and learning must be

:04:21.:04:24.

disseminated more quickly. The Department of Health says it has

:04:25.:04:28.

asked for all of the recommendations to be fermented without delay. --

:04:29.:04:32.

implemented. Farmers were given some good news

:04:33.:04:34.

over the weekend as the Treasury gave a commitment to guarantee

:04:35.:04:37.

direct payments to them until 2020. The move has been welcomed

:04:38.:04:39.

by the Agriculture Minister Michelle McIlveen as a positive step ending

:04:40.:04:42.

uncertainty over the UK's departure from the European

:04:43.:04:44.

common agricultural policy. However, the Finance

:04:45.:04:46.

Minister Mairtin O'Muilleoir has voiced his concern

:04:47.:04:47.

that peace and cross border projects not approved within the next

:04:48.:04:50.

three months could be in peril. Here's our political

:04:51.:04:52.

editor Mark Devenport. Northern Ireland gets ?230 million

:04:53.:05:09.

in direct farm payments from the European Union every year. That is

:05:10.:05:14.

around 10% of all such agricultural support across the UK. So the

:05:15.:05:18.

Treasury's guarantee that it will cover those payments until 2020

:05:19.:05:24.

provides vital short-term relief for local farmers. It does get some

:05:25.:05:30.

securities into former's businesses through to 2020, but of course,

:05:31.:05:34.

then, the big challenge after that is certainly what happens next. But

:05:35.:05:38.

hopefully in the interim period we can try and devise some sort of

:05:39.:05:43.

support system which will sit UK agriculture. The European Union's

:05:44.:05:49.

peace fund bankroll high-profile projects like the peace Bridge

:05:50.:05:53.

across the river Foyle, whilst it is cross-border programme financed

:05:54.:05:57.

ventures like the goblin's walkway along the Antrim coast. The

:05:58.:06:02.

Chancellor has guaranteed his approval for Project signed off

:06:03.:06:05.

before his statement due in November, but after that he will

:06:06.:06:09.

look at future schemes on a case-by-case basis. I have asked the

:06:10.:06:14.

Irish Government -- have asked, the Irish government an Executive at

:06:15.:06:19.

last to have a guarantee that all peace funding would be fulfilled and

:06:20.:06:24.

honoured between now and 2020. He has fallen short of making that

:06:25.:06:27.

pledge. If we are not want to get proper consultation and I can see

:06:28.:06:31.

problems going forward. Really the Executive need to up its game. Put a

:06:32.:06:37.

real plan in place and go across and negotiate with Westminster to get

:06:38.:06:39.

the best deal for Northern Ireland. Stormont ministers want to be fully

:06:40.:06:43.

engaged in the brick that negotiations. But given the number

:06:44.:06:47.

of competing interests in play, this probably will not be the last year

:06:48.:06:51.

then complaining about not being kept in the picture. -- in the

:06:52.:06:55.

Brexit negotiations. An Orange Hall near Ballyronan

:06:56.:06:56.

in County Londonderry has been badly

:06:57.:06:58.

damaged in an arson attack. It is the 21st such

:06:59.:07:00.

attack on Orange Order It is now a familiar story, a tiny

:07:01.:07:13.

rural Orange Hall empty unblocked for the night is set on fire. In

:07:14.:07:17.

remote areas, it is lucky if is spotted before it doesn't do much

:07:18.:07:23.

damage. And, indeed, a neighbour on this road out the smoke alarm. The

:07:24.:07:27.

extensive damage to the building and its content has shocked the large

:07:28.:07:34.

master. A banner, and a variety of musical instruments were destroyed.

:07:35.:07:38.

All through the trouble is, when they were very bad, we never had any

:07:39.:07:43.

problems. It is out of the Road down here and you would have to come down

:07:44.:07:46.

here looking for it, other than that he would not find it. There has been

:07:47.:07:50.

no bad feeling between neighbours or anything like that, Protestants and

:07:51.:07:53.

Catholics, we always got one the best. This is the latest in a long

:07:54.:07:57.

line of attack on Orange hall. There have been 21 reported in the last

:07:58.:08:04.

year alone. The Orange Order is so concerned that its officials are to

:08:05.:08:07.

meet the police in the next three days to discuss the trend. Only two

:08:08.:08:11.

years ago, there is an hundred and 20-year-old hall was completely

:08:12.:08:13.

renovated. Now, they're faced with picking up the pieces of a wrecked

:08:14.:08:19.

building. -- is 120-year-old Paul was completely renovated. Now,

:08:20.:08:21.

they're faced with picking up the pieces of a wrecked building. --

:08:22.:08:22.

this 120-year-old hall. A fire at a derelict

:08:23.:08:25.

building in Sion Mills The blaze at the former

:08:26.:08:27.

Herdman's Mills last night lasted for about three hours

:08:28.:08:30.

and caused significant damage. There has been a series of arson

:08:31.:08:32.

attacks at the site in recent years, including two fires within the space

:08:33.:08:36.

of two days in June. You're watching BBC

:08:37.:08:38.

Newsline and still to come: The latest on a story about claims

:08:39.:08:42.

of a huge fraud in renewable energy. An alleged ticket touting scandal

:08:43.:08:50.

in Rio has led to a row between the Republic's government

:08:51.:08:53.

and the Olympic Council of Ireland. One wants independent

:08:54.:08:56.

representatives involved in an inquiry into what happened,

:08:57.:08:57.

the other doesn't. BBC Newsline's Mark Simpson

:08:58.:08:59.

has the latest. All the countries competing at the

:09:00.:09:17.

Olympics are allocated tickets. Part of the Irish allocation was seized

:09:18.:09:21.

by police investigating a ticket touting scam in Rio. They were being

:09:22.:09:27.

sold for inflated prices. Tickets for the opening ceremony were

:09:28.:09:29.

allegedly being offered for four times their face value. Leaving the

:09:30.:09:34.

Olympic Council of Ireland with questions to answer. They have

:09:35.:09:39.

insisted they did nothing wrong. They are investigating what happened

:09:40.:09:42.

but have rejected calls for an independent inquiry. , I can tell

:09:43.:09:49.

you that only senior council's advise we are carrying out her own

:09:50.:09:52.

investigation, which have already started. -- that under senior

:09:53.:09:58.

counsel's advise. We are not investigating ourselves, we are

:09:59.:10:01.

investigating the trail of the tickets and whatever happened and we

:10:02.:10:05.

have to get the answers. The Irish Sports Minister tried to change his

:10:06.:10:09.

mind during an hour-long meeting in Rio last night. But he did not

:10:10.:10:13.

succeed. I am absolutely stunned by the reaction. I cannot believe that

:10:14.:10:21.

the... Will refuse to take an independent on inquiry. We are

:10:22.:10:26.

certainly looking at the prospect of a different inquiry that is not been

:10:27.:10:31.

ruled out. While the dispute continues between the sports chief

:10:32.:10:36.

Andy Sports Minister, the authorities in the sale are

:10:37.:10:39.

continuing their investigation. An Irish businessman was arrested last

:10:40.:10:44.

week and this evening a Brazilian judge ordered the arrest of four

:10:45.:10:49.

other people. All believed to be executives from an international

:10:50.:10:53.

sports hospitality company. It has been a difficult Olympics for the

:10:54.:10:58.

Irish team, and there is no sign of the ticket controversy going away.

:10:59.:10:59.

Mike Simson, BBC Newsline. Stephen Watson will be live from Rio

:11:00.:11:03.

later in the programme. He will have the latest on the

:11:04.:11:09.

sporting action from today. Next an update on

:11:10.:11:12.

a BBC Newsline story about the alleged abuse

:11:13.:11:14.

of a renewable energy scheme. A whistle blower claims some

:11:15.:11:16.

companies have defrauded the system Well, experts have begun checking

:11:17.:11:19.

those who took advantage although the Department

:11:20.:11:24.

of the Economy says it has no plans to publish an internal

:11:25.:11:29.

review of how it was run. Our agriculture and environment

:11:30.:11:34.

correspondent Renewable heat was good business for

:11:35.:11:49.

John Martin's company. He put wood burning boilers into nursing homes,

:11:50.:11:52.

golf clubs and factories, which wanted to switch from oil and were

:11:53.:11:56.

attracted by a generous government subsidy. But the whole scheme was

:11:57.:12:04.

loosely run and open to abuse. With no cap on payments, the more you

:12:05.:12:10.

burned, the more you earn. A whistle-blower claimed some

:12:11.:12:13.

companies put in boilers they did not need, that a farmer was eating

:12:14.:12:19.

an empty shed. Each was hoping to rack up ?1 million of profit over 20

:12:20.:12:23.

years. The tax payer you would have to foot the bill. Auditors said that

:12:24.:12:29.

could be up to ?150 million over the next five years. That prompted

:12:30.:12:34.

several investigations, including a joint one by the Department of the

:12:35.:12:39.

economy and the regulator Ofgem. It helped run the scheme here. With

:12:40.:12:43.

being an industry, we have heard rumours were some of the

:12:44.:12:46.

installations may not be to the scheme requirements. We welcome the

:12:47.:12:50.

fact that Ofgem are now doing audits and accreditations on the schemes,

:12:51.:12:53.

which will identify those which are not eligible to be in the scheme. It

:12:54.:12:57.

was designed to be energy saving, not a scheme to make money. The

:12:58.:13:06.

economy department have already been given pride of the review commission

:13:07.:13:09.

to identify potential abuses but says there are no plans to publish

:13:10.:13:12.

the report when it has been finalised. That just leaves a second

:13:13.:13:15.

defendant audit commissioned by the economy minister. Auditors are

:13:16.:13:19.

already on the ground checking a percentage of the installations.

:13:20.:13:22.

Amongst the abuse they are looking for suggestions that empty sheds

:13:23.:13:26.

were be needed just for the sake of the subsidy and that in some cases

:13:27.:13:33.

he was being diverted to people's homes. It will be September before

:13:34.:13:36.

the Minister's independent audit is complete. Only then, and only if it

:13:37.:13:41.

is published, all taxpayers here get a truer picture of how much public

:13:42.:13:42.

money has gone up in smoke. Also coming up:

:13:43.:13:53.

Four wins from Ian Hutcheson at the Ulster Grand Prix. We will not all

:13:54.:13:59.

of the action. -- we will have all the action.

:14:00.:14:00.

Two riders seriously injured in this year's North West 200

:14:01.:14:02.

have returned to the spot where they crashed for the first time.

:14:03.:14:05.

One of them has just got out of hospital

:14:06.:14:07.

while the other is out of competition for two years.

:14:08.:14:10.

Returning to the crash site where he almost died just three months ago,

:14:11.:14:23.

Ryan Farquhar says he is lucky to be alive. The writer says his thoughts

:14:24.:14:30.

were of a fellow racer killed in almost the same place just two days

:14:31.:14:35.

later. It is one thing, because I have crashed and hurt myself pretty

:14:36.:14:42.

badly, but with Mitchell having a similar crash to myself and sadly he

:14:43.:14:47.

did not make it, you know, it puts it into even more perspective how

:14:48.:14:51.

lucky I am to be here. Despite what he has been through, Ryan said he is

:14:52.:14:56.

not ready to quit racing. I am hoping that I do not have to, you

:14:57.:15:00.

know, hang my leathers up. Do these circumstances. I do not want to

:15:01.:15:09.

finish my career that way. So I will be very, very determined to get my

:15:10.:15:12.

racing licence back and take part in a race, maybe even a classic race or

:15:13.:15:17.

some sort of race, but my career is not finished, I hope. This was

:15:18.:15:23.

difficult to hear for the North West 200. Competitor Ben Wilson broke his

:15:24.:15:26.

leg so badly at this friend there were fears he had lost it. It was

:15:27.:15:32.

only 45 minutes from losing a leg, because it was the a severe break.

:15:33.:15:36.

The blood flow to it was not great. But the surgeons sorted that out and

:15:37.:15:39.

I have still got my leg and we are trying to get everything sorted so

:15:40.:15:43.

that we can get back on the bike as soon as possible. Race organisers

:15:44.:15:48.

admit that whatever safety precautions are taken, the North

:15:49.:15:51.

West 200 can never be deemed totally safe. It is a road race. It is high

:15:52.:15:54.

speeds. It has to be realised that that is what it is, at the end of

:15:55.:15:58.

the day. But from an organiser point of view, or you can work as it is to

:15:59.:16:02.

make it as safe as you possibly can. Plans for next's Road race are

:16:03.:16:06.

already underway but for now this will go ahead without Ryan Farquhar

:16:07.:16:10.

and Ben Wilson. An incident that involved a lorry

:16:11.:16:13.

getting stuck under a bridge has led to a campaign to try

:16:14.:16:15.

to protect one of Ireland's medieval

:16:16.:16:18.

fortifications. Saint Laurence Gate in Drogheda

:16:19.:16:19.

dates back to Norman times. Our Dublin correspondent

:16:20.:16:22.

Shane Harrison has more. At the most of the River Barrow,

:16:23.:16:38.

this -- River Boyne, this town is steeped in history, with many iconic

:16:39.:16:42.

sites. The town was worse, once a fortress and some of those

:16:43.:16:46.

fortifications remain, including Saint Laurence Gate, built on the

:16:47.:16:52.

13th century. At the moment, traffic can pass on to the gate but an

:16:53.:16:55.

independent councillor hopes that will soon change. We have never been

:16:56.:16:58.

able to get the full support of the Council and when you look at the

:16:59.:17:01.

structure, and you look at its history, it was there to protect

:17:02.:17:06.

from the invasion for the town. It withstood Cromwell and many

:17:07.:17:09.

invasions and, really and truly, to have it damaged by a truck, which

:17:10.:17:14.

could close it after 800 years, would be a sin if we were to let

:17:15.:17:19.

that happen. Sin or not, a truck recently got stuck trying to pass

:17:20.:17:23.

through the arch. Since then, thousands had signed a petition

:17:24.:17:26.

demanding that the date be closed to traffic. Our idea is to protect the

:17:27.:17:30.

gate and all of the medieval architectural structures in the town

:17:31.:17:35.

and make the gate at the gateway to the north-east. And for this to be

:17:36.:17:40.

the jewel of that. It is a laudable goal and one that seems to have the

:17:41.:17:46.

support of most of the townspeople. It should be closed. From a

:17:47.:17:52.

practical point of view, it is really dangerous for traffic as it

:17:53.:17:56.

is anyway. And apart from that, as a tourist attraction, we cannot really

:17:57.:18:00.

use it. People cannot get near it and cannot get up on it because it

:18:01.:18:04.

is dangerous. It should been closed to traffic years ago. It is

:18:05.:18:08.

no-brainer and if the will was there in the council, it would have been

:18:09.:18:13.

closed years ago. So who might be opposed to the campaign? Taxi

:18:14.:18:16.

drivers, I was told, because they believe it would add to the already

:18:17.:18:20.

bad congestion. But amongst them, there was divided opinion and nobody

:18:21.:18:24.

wanted to see anything on camera. If the campaigners get their way, Saint

:18:25.:18:28.

Laurence Gate might see the last vehicle pass on to it later this

:18:29.:18:30.

year. -- pass under it. Now sport, and there was another

:18:31.:18:35.

shock for Team Ireland's Stephen?

:18:36.:18:50.

Thank you. Team Ireland's Olympic boxing story started badly before a

:18:51.:18:56.

punch was even from, when Michael Riley failed a drugs test. He has

:18:57.:19:03.

since admitted that he took a supplement that may contain a banned

:19:04.:19:05.

substance. And then his team-mates started exiting the competition won

:19:06.:19:09.

by one. Starting with the most experienced fighter, Paddy Barnes,

:19:10.:19:12.

who lost his opening fight. He was of course a double bronze Olympic

:19:13.:19:16.

medallist. And then, today, Katie Taylor, London 2012 gold medal

:19:17.:19:22.

winner, was the latest to fall. A decision which left the team very

:19:23.:19:24.

unhappy. Distraught after a disappointing

:19:25.:19:31.

defeat. Katie Taylor was the Golden girl of team Ireland four years ago.

:19:32.:19:37.

But she was dethroned after a tough first fight today. A split decision

:19:38.:19:43.

and a hard one for her to take on. COMMENTATOR: The reigning Olympic

:19:44.:19:45.

champion has been eliminated at the quarterfinal stage. It has been a

:19:46.:19:51.

very tough year. I suffered it, you know, a lot of losses this year and

:19:52.:19:56.

it is very hard to take but the Olympics was really it for me and

:19:57.:20:00.

I... I came in here prepared very well, I give it my best shot and it

:20:01.:20:08.

just didn't happen. So that just leaves Michael Conlon to fly the

:20:09.:20:12.

flag for the boxers. The Belfast man says he can handle the expectation

and is confident of still delivering gold. COMMENTATOR: Conlon stood toe

to toe and box... A lot of pressure and I love what it brings. It was a

:20:23.:20:27.

tough contest. My legs kind of didn't do what I wanted them to do

:20:28.:20:32.

today. They wanted to go to war and I wanted to box. I got into a war

:20:33.:20:36.

and it is what it is. I got the win as I progressed to the next round

:20:37.:20:40.

and I will get better. And Conlon is back in the ring tomorrow.

:20:41.:20:45.

Yes, Michael Kohlmann will try to salvage these Olympic games for the

:20:46.:20:50.

boxers. Team Ireland retain medal

interest in two classes. Annalise Murphy starts today's medal

:20:51.:20:53.

race in the women's Laser Radial in third position and is still well

:20:54.:20:56.

placed to contest for gold, while Ryan Seaton

:20:57.:21:00.

and Matt McGovern are going well They will start today's racing lying

:21:01.:21:02.

in fourth position overall. We will hear from both of them

tomorrow. No to something slightly faster.

Ian Hutchinson dominated Saturday's Ulster Grand Prix meeting

:21:20.:21:21.

as the Englishman had four wins, including both Superbike races.

:21:22.:21:24.

Gavin Andrews reports on the action at Dundrod.

:21:25.:21:31.

Michael Dunlop started on pole position as the superstock race

opened proceedings. But he lost that initiative at the very start and had

:21:38.:21:41.

to work his way back into contention. Eventually passing race

behind a back markers for the English raider retain a decisive

:21:51.:21:54.

advantage for his first win of the day. Just had to be patient and make

:21:55.:21:59.

a plan. Obviously the only thing that could go wrong it was red

:22:03.:22:07.

came across the back marker and it was who ever came across it first

:22:11.:22:16.

exciting tussle in the first a good sport race as he battled with Bruce.

A red flag for a premature end to proceedings, leaving antsy as race

winner. After a first ever Super Pole qualifying lap around the

:22:26.:22:31.

circuit, there was a 3-way battle as Ian Hutchinson finished ahead of

:22:32.:22:37.

Dunlop and Ansti. And two more victories would follow in the super

:22:38.:22:41.

sport and Superbike races. Quite a day for the Yorkshire man.

:22:42.:22:45.

And you can watch a special highlights programme of the action

:22:46.:22:48.

on BBC Two tonight from nine o'clock.

:22:49.:22:51.

In the Danskebank Premiership, champions Crusaders and last

:22:52.:22:52.

season's runners-up Linfield both remain unbeaten

:22:53.:22:55.

after their clash at the weekend ended in stalemate.

:22:56.:22:57.

The first real heavyweight clash of the season was in truth a bit of a

:22:58.:23:15.

disappointment. Linfield went down to ten men when Steven Laurie got a

:23:16.:23:19.

second yellow. Buddy David Healy's side were able to repel all of the

:23:20.:23:26.

champions -- all the champions could throw at them in a scoreless draw. I

:23:27.:23:29.

felt it was a nothing game. The ball was in the ear too much. Both sets

:23:30.:23:34.

of defenders on top when the headers out of there. There was very little

:23:35.:23:37.

football played in the game. It was hurly-burly and all that type of

:23:38.:23:40.

stuff but for me it was not a great game of football to watch. In stark

:23:41.:23:46.

contrast to mourn Viewpark, where Cliftonville got a 2-1 lead, only

A Tony came penalty got this team their first victory of the season.

:24:15.:24:23.

And this late winner against Portadown leaves their team on

:24:24.:24:25.

unbeaten. we'll have the result

:24:26.:24:26.

on our later bulletin. Which of our local competitors do

:24:27.:24:38.

you think we should be keeping an eye on at the Olympics, with just a

:24:39.:24:41.

week to go? Team Ireland are sadly running out

:24:42.:24:44.

of medal opportunities but tomorrow all eyes will be on Belfast boxer

:24:45.:24:50.

Michael Conlon. Seven of our boxers have lost, he is the only one

:24:51.:24:53.

remaining in the competition. He has a tough fight against a Russian

:24:54.:24:56.

opponent who has beaten him before, but Michael is a European and world

:24:57.:24:59.

champion and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that he can bring

:25:00.:25:03.

home cold for a team Ireland. Lets hope so. We will talk to you

:25:04.:25:07.

tomorrow again. Thank you for now. The weather forecast

:25:08.:25:13.

is next with Cecilia Daly. We had 23 degrees today and tomorrow

:25:14.:25:21.

we could see temperatures a degree or so higher. It has been sunny

:25:22.:25:25.

across practically the whole of Ireland, hardly a cloud around, for

:25:26.:25:32.

a perfect day for the beach for those on their holidays. That is

:25:33.:25:36.

what some people did today so I can tell you from personal experience,

:25:37.:25:38.

last week there were very few people in the water! If they were, they had

:25:39.:25:41.

wet suits on rather than bathing suits. It is great to see some rain

:25:42.:25:46.

is on the north coast today. Another taste of summer to come tomorrow but

:25:47.:25:49.

cloudy weather moves in on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing some rain but

:25:50.:25:53.

still of warmth throughout. The end of the week, however, will be more

:25:54.:25:57.

unsettled. Hopefully you can get a sneaky day off tomorrow and enjoy it

:25:58.:26:01.

enjoy it. It is a fine evening and clear night to come to stop

:26:02.:26:03.

temperatures will drop away, possibly just dipping into single

:26:04.:26:10.

figures in one or two spot in the countryside. First thing tomorrow,

:26:11.:26:14.

for those up very early, it will be a little bit cooler, perhaps some

:26:15.:26:17.

early morning mist, but it will rapidly warm and any mistiness will

:26:18.:26:19.

disappear because there were once again be lots of blue sky and

towards the north coast. -- site or South East. We may well see 25

:26:31.:26:34.

somewhere tomorrow, so it will feel warm at those beaches on the north

:26:35.:26:38.

coast. A little bit cooler on our beaches at the East Coast, with the

:26:39.:26:42.

breeze finally and off the sea, but still quite nice. Temperatures in my

:26:43.:26:46.

team. A lovely day with strong sunshine, which we are not that used

:26:47.:26:57.

to over the last weeks! Later in the day, we may well see a couple of

:26:58.:26:59.

showers moving in from the West. Particularly tomorrow evening and

:27:00.:27:02.

tomorrow night. It will be a warm one tomorrow night, temperatures in

:27:03.:27:04.

many places in the teens. This area of rain behind me as a weather front

:27:05.:27:07.

which will struggle to come eastwards through Wednesday and

:27:08.:27:09.

Thursday. It means eventually cloud and some rain coming in and then

:27:10.:27:12.

this area of low pressure is what we need to keep an eye on for next

:27:13.:27:19.

weekend, bringing some fairly blustery winds and somewhat

:27:20.:27:23.

persistent rain. On Wednesday, still someone's around, not as sunny. Some

:27:24.:27:25.

wet weather, mainly in the West. Temperatures gradually drop towards

:27:26.:27:26.

the end of the week. You can also keep in contact with us
