we are back with the late news at ten o'clock -

:00:00.:00:08.

An anti-internment march in West Belfast has passed

:00:09.:00:14.

Last month, a Parades Commission ruling banned it from passing

:00:15.:00:17.

through the city centre and there was a large policing

:00:18.:00:20.

operation put in place for today's protest.

:00:21.:00:21.

In the days leading up to this parade, there were concerns about

:00:22.:00:34.

violence around the protest, because of incidents at previous events. The

:00:35.:00:40.

organisers had this to say before it moved off toward the city centre. If

:00:41.:00:47.

there's anybody here who is drinking who is taking part,. Hundreds were

:00:48.:00:56.

joined by four Republican bands for the march which the protesters say

:00:57.:01:01.

was about highlighting the continued use of internment. We have

:01:02.:01:05.

Republican through the count is arrested and remanded for two years

:01:06.:01:11.

and after that they are bailed with serious strict conditions and

:01:12.:01:15.

curfews. Once it gets to the courts, there is no answer, so that is

:01:16.:01:20.

clearly internment. As the parade made its way through West Belfast

:01:21.:01:25.

toward the lower Falls Road and city centre, police units were preparing

:01:26.:01:31.

to block the route in line with a parade commission's determination.

:01:32.:01:34.

Hundreds are taking part in this anti-internment protest parade which

:01:35.:01:38.

has been making its way down from Anderstown through the lower Falls

:01:39.:01:42.

to the city centre. But the Parades Commission has placed restrictions

:01:43.:01:45.

on the march and it is not allowed to go any further than this police

:01:46.:01:51.

line here at Barrack Street. At the police line, there were speeches by

:01:52.:01:54.

groups supporting the nub of dissident Republican prisoners. The

:01:55.:01:57.

crowd then dispersed without incident.

:01:58.:02:00.

A man in his forties who was being questioned by gardai

:02:01.:02:03.

in connection with the murder of Denis Donaldson

:02:04.:02:05.

The former Sinn Fein official was shot dead in April

:02:06.:02:12.

2006 at a remote cottage in County Donegal shortly after it

:02:13.:02:15.

had been revealed that he'd been working for the police and MI5.

:02:16.:02:18.

It's Day Two of the Olympic Games in Rio and the first boxer

:02:19.:02:21.

from Northern Ireland has been in action.

:02:22.:02:22.

It's been a difficult start to the Olympics for Ireland boxes as one

:02:23.:02:37.

fighter failed a drugs test. He has since appealed. But today, the focus

:02:38.:02:42.

was very much inside the ring as Steven Donnelly made his Olympic

:02:43.:02:49.

debut in a welterweight division. Walking to the ring for the biggest

:02:50.:02:54.

moment of his career. This was Steven Donnelly's first Olympic

:02:55.:02:57.

experience and he was determined to enjoy it. The Ballymena man settled

:02:58.:03:02.

quickly into the fight against his Algerian opponent. He triumphed in

:03:03.:03:11.

round one and never looked back. Eventually he got a unanimous

:03:12.:03:15.

decision from all three judges. There was big pressure on my

:03:16.:03:18.

shoulders coming into the tournament. I came away with the win

:03:19.:03:27.

and I couldn't be happier. Were you nervous? I definitely was, it was my

:03:28.:03:31.

debut, anybody would be nervous walking out in front of all these

:03:32.:03:35.

people. Northern Ireland comes watching expecting you to win. The

:03:36.:03:39.

pressure was there and I can only get better from here on in. Why type

:03:40.:03:43.

elsewhere, today's rowing schedule was delayed by winds-macro which

:03:44.:03:46.

means that Richard Chambers will have to wait for his first heat. The

:03:47.:03:51.

event continues and the horse riding looked settled. Claire Abbots

:03:52.:03:55.

recorded a personal best in the dressage and team Ireland are

:03:56.:03:59.

currently lying fourth. After losing their opening game 3-2 yesterday to

:04:00.:04:03.

India, Ireland's hockey players are getting ready to meet the

:04:04.:04:08.

Netherlands tonight. Team GB are also in action against New Zealand

:04:09.:04:14.

waiting for the first win. But other boxing, it has been a dream debut

:04:15.:04:15.

for Steven Donnelly. Both Tyrone and Donegal went out

:04:16.:04:18.

of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship at the quarterfinal

:04:19.:04:20.

stage at Croke Park. Tyrone lost out to Mayo

:04:21.:04:23.

by a single point in Mayo edged ahead with five minutes

:04:24.:04:25.

of normal time to go in the game. Tyrone then had this late chance

:04:26.:04:31.

to level the match in injury time but Niall Morgan was unable to score

:04:32.:04:34.

with a long-range free. Meanwhile, Donegal were beaten

:04:35.:04:41.

by reigning champions Dublin, with Paul Mannion's goal deep

:04:42.:04:43.

into injury-time ensuring that his side progressed

:04:44.:04:45.

by a comfortable margin A look ahead now to a story we'll

:04:46.:04:47.

have this week on BBC Newsline. Said that the Brexit vote, there's

:04:48.:05:05.

been a rise in the number of Unionists deciding to get Irish

:05:06.:05:10.

passports. So for them, just how difficult a decision was it? My

:05:11.:05:14.

father would not be pleased if he was still alive. But I'm from Larne,

:05:15.:05:23.

a lot of my friends and relatives are and some of them will be happy

:05:24.:05:27.

and they will be doing exactly the same thing.

:05:28.:05:27.

You can see more on that on BBC Newsline this week here on BBC One.

:05:28.:05:31.

Here's Angie with a look at the weather for the week ahead.

:05:32.:05:35.

We started the weekend on a rather warm and humid notes. Not quite as

:05:36.:05:42.

warmer today and after today's rain, it will be feeling fresher through

:05:43.:05:45.

the coming week with winds-macro coming from the North West which

:05:46.:05:49.

will be quite brisk. In the middle of the week, there will be a smell

:05:50.:05:54.

of wet weather. Today's rain cleared away to give some bright spells for

:05:55.:05:58.

this evening and we get further showers moving in from the

:05:59.:06:02.

north-west during the night accompanied by blustery winds-macro

:06:03.:06:03.

which could be gusting near gale around the coast. Those showers

:06:04.:06:26.

is off later in the night which will not be quite as humid with

:06:27.:06:28.

temperatures of 11-12d. Into tomorrow, bright and breezy. A few

:06:29.:06:30.

showers, particularly in the morning, but they will fade away

:06:31.:06:32.

through the day. The winds-macro is off, still a breezy though,

:06:33.:06:34.

particularly around the coast. Strong winds-macro in the North of

:06:35.:06:36.

Scotland, severe gales which could be quite destructive and spells of

:06:37.:06:38.

rain. Elsewhere, a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers.

:06:39.:06:40.

Showers are mainly light and dry spells in between and quite warm in

:06:41.:06:45.

the south, into the low 20s. For Northern Ireland, during the

:06:46.:06:50.

afternoon showers are all but gone to the south-east, so a fair amount

:06:51.:06:53.

of dry weather and sunshine. Feeling fresher around the coast without on

:06:54.:07:06.

short north-westerly breeze, 15-16 on the West. We have weather fronts

:07:07.:07:12.

around the edge, probably only affecting Scotland on Tuesday. On

:07:13.:07:16.

Wednesday, that arrives in Northern Ireland begin wet and windy

:07:17.:07:19.

conditions. Not quite as wet on Thursday, but rather cloudy.

:07:20.:07:20.
