Hello. First tonight, hospitals in some parts of the West say they re

treating increasing numbers of teenagers who've been drinkhng too

much alcohol. New figures from Public Health England show

admissions in Wiltshire, Bath and parts of Somerset are significantly

higher than the average. Here's Will Glennon.

They're not even old enough to legally drink alcohol. But lore and

more under`18s are turning tp at A, especially in South Solerset.

Some are too drunk to stand, others have been in fights or falsd. They

have even taken drugs. It is a worrying trend I have seen getting

worse. It is a huge drain on resources of the health card system,

not only the emergency department but also the prehospital, you

paramedics, and Bill and crdw, they are the ones who have to tr`nsport

the patients here. They reqtire a large amount of support. Whhle

teenagers have always experhmented with alcohol, nowadays, there is a

tendency to binge drink and to get out of control as quickly as

possible. It is seen as mord cool. We are seeing a lot of pressure

coming from the media, for xoung people to increasingly grow up a lot

faster. Becoming acceptable number of young people being admitted to a

handy for alcohol problems hs zero. I am unhappy, because the

consequences of that, am I worried we cannot do anything about it she

might know, there is lots wd can do about it. I am optimistic that we

will be the changes. Alreadx, two new nurses have been put in Somerset

hospitals to talk to young people with alcohol issues. The hope is to

get through to them before their problems get worse.

There were long delays for lotorists around the Bath area this morning

after a three`vehicle crash on the A46. Police closed the road for some

hours between Cold Ashton and Bath. The M4 eastbound was affectdd for a

period, and extra traffic hdading to the Badminton Horse Trials lade for

further congestion. In rugby, Bath missed out on the

Premiership play`offs as thdy lost 19`16 to Harlequins at the Stoop.

George Ford scored all of the Bath points, including one try. But the

result means Mike Ford's men finish outside of the top four.

We are very disappointed. Btt looking back over the last couple of

weeks, there are a lot of points, so that has proved to be the

difference. That is disappohnting but we need to dust ourselvds off.

Bristol take a 17 points to 14 lead into next Saturday's play`off

semifinal second leg against Rotherham. Gastin Cortez, Ltke Eves

and Mitch Eadie scored the tries at the Mem.

Gloucester lost the final g`me of the season highway to Worcester

despite reading for long spdlls in the game. Worcester capitalhse on

Gloucester twice going down to 4 players.

It was a challenge to get to the Badminton Horse Trials this morning.

It was also a challenge to get around the cross`country cotrse

where wet weather made for soft going. One competitor, Harrx Meade,

from West Littleton in Wiltshire, shattered both elbows in a riding

accident last Autumn. There were fears he'd never ride again. But

after much hard work and phxsio he was back in the saddle todax, and

climbing the leader board to finish the day in eighth position.

Finally, Bath's Ping Coombes and Angela Langford, from Merriot near

Crewkerne, are both through to the final week of the BBC's MasterChef

programme. Last night, Ping kept up her consistently high stand`rd of

cuisine, while Angela surprhsed the judges with the best dish of the

night. They're now down to the final four, with three shows remahning.

yellow warning for wind with gusts of 50 to 60 mph. That is around

parts of the Bristol Channel coast, making for some difficult driving

conditions. The winds are driving through, heavy and haps thundery

showers through tonight. Thd wind should keep things mild. Eight or

nine Celsius. Tomorrow starts with showers from the word go. They

continue to be buffeted through by the strong winds. They will not be

as strong as today. Highs of around 11 to 14. Monday and Tuesdax bring

some more heavy showers. But drier and brighter for the middle of the

today. There will be drier and brighter spells in between. Low

pressure is sitting across the country, with some tightly packed

isobars to the south. That indicates some strong winds. They will
