Welcome to Wales Today. Our top story.

:00:00.:00:08.

The home of the Bond movies. Pinewood Film Company is opening a

:00:09.:00:12.

new studio in Cardiff, promising a multi-million pound investment. I'll

:00:13.:00:18.

ask the Pembrokeshire film-maker who won a BAFTA last night if the

:00:19.:00:21.

promises will live up to the billing.

:00:22.:00:37.

Our other headlines tonight. We're in the market to see if the benefits

:00:38.:00:42.

shake up will result in more or less money being spent in our

:00:43.:00:47.

communities. A string of rescues prompts a

:00:48.:00:50.

warning of avalanches after two climbers are swept 1,000 feet down

:00:51.:00:53.

Snowdon. And cautiously optimistic. Could the

:00:54.:00:57.

ongoing rugby row be solved before the end of the Six Nations?

:00:58.:01:04.

Good evening. Best known for James Bond films, Pinewood Studios has

:01:05.:01:08.

announced is to open a new facility in Cardiff. The Welsh Government

:01:09.:01:10.

says the deal would generate an estimated ?90 million and support

:01:11.:01:14.

2,000 jobs over five years. In return they would also make

:01:15.:01:17.

available ?30 million for film projects made in Wales. The new site

:01:18.:01:21.

will be located in Wentloog in Cardiff and will be leased by

:01:22.:01:24.

Pinewood for five years initially. It's not the Welsh Government's

:01:25.:01:27.

first venture into attracting film-makers. In 2008, the

:01:28.:01:31.

multi-million pound Dragon International Studios in Rhondda

:01:32.:01:33.

Cynon Taf was partly mothballed after only one film.

:01:34.:01:55.

It is the movie brand that has promoted British film around the

:01:56.:01:58.

world perhaps more than any other. For years, James Bond has made its

:01:59.:02:03.

home at Pinewood and helped cement the company 's place as one of the

:02:04.:02:08.

film industry 's biggest names. But could this be their new home? It

:02:09.:02:15.

will open soon. After a year of talks, Pinewood

:02:16.:02:19.

picked Cardiff for its first British studio away from the south-east of

:02:20.:02:25.

England. I think there is a lot more that we

:02:26.:02:29.

can do as a government and we just see this as being a very important

:02:30.:02:32.

venture for us and we were able to give them the building they require.

:02:33.:02:37.

The amount of space they require is absolutely phenomenal. But then you

:02:38.:02:42.

add the beautiful locations we can also provide, it is a win-win. It

:02:43.:02:50.

will help small businesses, it is and employment opportunity.

:02:51.:02:54.

The significant after days announcement cannot be understated.

:02:55.:02:57.

It is one of the biggest names in the film would. The deal -- with the

:02:58.:03:10.

deal announced, we could see some familiar faces in South Wales. Wales

:03:11.:03:18.

has often been a popular location for filming. But the relationship

:03:19.:03:24.

with film studios has been a turbulent one.

:03:25.:03:39.

Pinewood 's arrival comes with optimism, with a heritage of

:03:40.:03:43.

film-making and an initial commitment to take a five-year lease

:03:44.:03:46.

on the site. And there is a promise of more funding from the Welsh

:03:47.:03:50.

Government. They are making a ?30 million pot available to production

:03:51.:03:55.

companies. The government will get a cut of the profits if they do well

:03:56.:04:03.

at the box office. Wales has become quite a well-known centre for the

:04:04.:04:07.

production of television drama and with the UK Government 's

:04:08.:04:09.

introduction of a tax incentive for big budget television, this

:04:10.:04:14.

partnership is something we are very excited by. And it will allow us to

:04:15.:04:20.

work you within this facility to make it suitable for production.

:04:21.:04:27.

While it is the film 's stars that we are most likely to notice in

:04:28.:04:30.

Wales, it is the skilled workforce established here that are likely to

:04:31.:04:36.

feel the benefit. It is an established and trusted brand. It

:04:37.:04:43.

has the track record. It is about the timing. You have lots of new

:04:44.:04:47.

talent coming through the ranks, radiator break into pictures. --

:04:48.:04:53.

ready to break. We will not have to wait long to

:04:54.:04:57.

find out what is produced next. Pinewood say they are hoping to

:04:58.:05:00.

start work as soon as possible. It was a big night for the British film

:05:01.:05:04.

industry last night, and in particular, for Pembrokeshire film

:05:05.:05:06.

maker, Kieran Evans. He won the Outstanding Debut BAFTA

:05:07.:05:09.

for his first feature length film Kelly And Victor. Congratulations.

:05:10.:05:18.

Kieran, we'll discuss your wonderful achievement in a few moments, but

:05:19.:05:21.

first, your reaction to Pinewood studios coming to Wales?

:05:22.:05:25.

I think it is fantastic news. It is a great boost for the creative

:05:26.:05:30.

industry. There is a lot of talented film-making in Wales. And I think it

:05:31.:05:35.

is about time that we got to see a bit more of that. You struggled for

:05:36.:05:40.

years to get this film off the ground. I wonder what difference

:05:41.:05:44.

this kind of investment, this kind of name in Wales, will make to

:05:45.:05:48.

people like you want the way up. I think it is important to realise

:05:49.:05:52.

that when you are looking for money, you need some back-up and

:05:53.:05:57.

money from the Welsh Government and especially for people like film

:05:58.:06:02.

agency Wales, but all helps you to get on the first rung of the ladder.

:06:03.:06:07.

Let's talk about that after. It has put you on the world stage.

:06:08.:06:15.

I hope they don't take eight years to make my next film. But is the

:06:16.:06:20.

first thing. It is about getting recognised. It is the first rung on

:06:21.:06:25.

the ladder and getting going. And just moving on with the new projects

:06:26.:06:28.

and getting exposure to what you want to do next. Wales likes to

:06:29.:06:33.

think of itself as a boom area for the creative arts and for

:06:34.:06:38.

film-making. Is it really? I personally think so. There are a lot

:06:39.:06:46.

of talented people. I have been working making three Manic St

:06:47.:06:50.

preachers videos. There is a well and depth of talents. It needs to be

:06:51.:06:55.

tapped into a bit more. But there is a lot of good creative people

:06:56.:07:00.

waiting to make films in Wales. And I think this announcement today can

:07:01.:07:04.

only get them on their way. Was there one thing that was the secret

:07:05.:07:08.

of your success? Someone in school? Family influence?

:07:09.:07:14.

There are in broth people that I have to think. My parents

:07:15.:07:18.

especially. -- a number of people. But there was a drama teacher in

:07:19.:07:23.

school who opened my mind to drama when I was about 13 years old. She

:07:24.:07:32.

set me on my way. I have a lock to thank her for. A lot to thank her

:07:33.:07:37.

for. Thank you very much. And there was

:07:38.:07:43.

another Welsh winner last night. Sarah will know who grow up in

:07:44.:07:46.

Swansea won the short animation award.

:07:47.:07:58.

Two women from mid Wales have been jailed for illegally burying a man

:07:59.:08:02.

and claiming benefits in his name. Geoffrey Sturdey died in 2008, but

:08:03.:08:05.

his body was only found the village of Llwynygroes in Ceredigion last

:08:06.:08:09.

June. His widow was involved in the fraud. Cemlyn Davies reports. This

:08:10.:08:14.

is the remote part of countryside where Geoffrey Sturdey's body was

:08:15.:08:17.

found nearly five years after he died. He lived with his wife and

:08:18.:08:21.

three other woman near Llwynygroes in Ceredigion. Mr Sturdey was 60

:08:22.:08:25.

when he died of natural causes but his death was kept a secret as his

:08:26.:08:29.

widow, Ladan Rebekah Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide, continued to claim

:08:30.:08:35.

benefits in his name. They fraudulently received more than

:08:36.:08:45.

?77,000. Eventually staff at the Department of Work and Pensions grew

:08:46.:08:50.

suspicious. It started as a departmental matching scam. It was

:08:51.:08:58.

above the required limits. It seemed to be a straightforward case but

:08:59.:09:02.

when the investigator looked at it closely, it became apparent there

:09:03.:09:04.

was more to this. The women claimed Mr Sturdey had

:09:05.:09:07.

gone travelling across Europe but after an extensive search operation

:09:08.:09:09.

involving digging equipment and ground-penetrating radar police

:09:10.:09:12.

found his body - and notes written in Hebrew explaining how he had

:09:13.:09:20.

died. As he sentenced them to 20 months in prison, his honour judge

:09:21.:09:23.

Paul Thomas QC told Ladan Rebekah Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide they had

:09:24.:09:27.

taken advantage of Mr Sturdey's sad death to claim benefits to which

:09:28.:09:34.

they were not entitled. It gave you two the opportunity to enrich

:09:35.:09:37.

yourselves at the expense of the rest of us, he said. Ladan Rebekah

:09:38.:09:48.

Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide will serve half their sentences behind

:09:49.:09:50.

bars before being released on license. This investigation has

:09:51.:09:55.

shown that people have unlawfully buried this person and then

:09:56.:09:59.

continued to claim benefits and they will not get away with it. Karmel

:10:00.:10:05.

Aide, who had also admitted unlawfully burying a man, was given

:10:06.:10:08.

a nine month suspended sentence and she was ordered to complete 150

:10:09.:10:20.

hours of unpaid work. There's a police investigation into

:10:21.:10:34.

an unlawful payments he received. Pembrokeshire County Council, Bryn

:10:35.:10:37.

Parry Jones, will not be standing down, unlike his counterpart at

:10:38.:10:40.

Carmarthenshire Council, Mark James. On Friday, Pembrokeshire Council

:10:41.:10:43.

accepted a Wales Audit Office report stating they'd made "unlawful"

:10:44.:11:07.

payments to Mr Parry Jones. It's the biggest shake up to welfare

:11:08.:11:11.

payments in generation - now the Welsh Government has calculated the

:11:12.:11:13.

cost to Wales of UK Government's changes. It argues that ?930,000 is

:11:14.:11:17.

being taken out of the Welsh economy. The Department for Work and

:11:18.:11:20.

Pensions says when Universal credit is rolled out across the UK, three

:11:21.:11:23.

million households in the UK, 200,000 in Wales, will be better off

:11:24.:11:27.

by just more than ?160 a month. So who's got their sums right? Here's

:11:28.:11:30.

our economics correspondent, Sarah Dickins.

:11:31.:11:32.

Neath market, the heart of the county which the Welsh government

:11:33.:11:35.

says will be hit hardest by changes to welfare payments. Its research

:11:36.:11:38.

argues they will affect all of us not just individuals getting

:11:39.:11:44.

benefits or tax credits. I think they are more price conscious, from

:11:45.:11:49.

young families to especially pensioners, who are striving to

:11:50.:11:56.

hatch out -- stretch out a pound, basically. The argument follows that

:11:57.:11:58.

if individual household incomes fall, there's less money in the

:11:59.:12:02.

economy as a whole. The Welsh Government has analysed 14 benefits

:12:03.:12:05.

and come to the conclusion that changes will reduce the money coming

:12:06.:12:08.

to Wales through benefits and tax credits by ?930 million a year.

:12:09.:12:11.

That's equivalent to ?500 a year for every adult in Wales between the

:12:12.:12:22.

ages of 16 and 64. That is bound to have an impact in terms of private

:12:23.:12:29.

sector jobs. It is something we have to look at very seriously indeed.

:12:30.:12:33.

But the Department of Work and Pensions says its welfare reforms

:12:34.:12:36.

will improve the lives of ?200,000 households in Wales by ?163 a

:12:37.:12:40.

month. Added together that's a total of just more than ?390 million a

:12:41.:12:46.

year. The Department for Work and Pensions says when Universal Credit

:12:47.:12:49.

is rolled out people will be able to work for more hours before they

:12:50.:12:53.

reach the cut off point for welfare payments. I have very little

:12:54.:13:01.

sympathy. In fact, I have no sympathy for young, healthy,

:13:02.:13:06.

able-bodied people who say they cannot find work. If it means

:13:07.:13:10.

moving, you have to move, that is the way life is. And when he refers

:13:11.:13:14.

to one million people finding work he's referring to people coming from

:13:15.:13:17.

Eastern Europe to work. The Welsh Government and the

:13:18.:13:20.

Department of Work and Pensions are talking about different things, like

:13:21.:13:23.

comparing apples and pears. The Welsh Government is focussing on the

:13:24.:13:26.

financial impact on the whole of Wales, while the Department of Work

:13:27.:13:30.

and Pensions it talking about how it will affect particular households.

:13:31.:13:37.

Much more to come before 7pm. String of rescues - now experts warn

:13:38.:13:41.

of the risk of avalanches after two climbers are swept 1,000 feet down

:13:42.:13:44.

Snowdon. And why those botox injections to

:13:45.:13:47.

take away the wrinkles maybe causing depression.

:13:48.:13:57.

Your local council is unlikely to be reorganised this side of the next

:13:58.:14:00.

assembly election in two years time, so says the First Minister Carwyn

:14:01.:14:04.

Jones. Instead, he's called on councils to merge voluntarily,

:14:05.:14:06.

saying it would be in their interests to do so. Our Political

:14:07.:14:14.

Editor Nick Servini is here, Nick, how significant is this?

:14:15.:14:19.

The Williams commission, if you remember, which was published last

:14:20.:14:23.

month, put forward a tomato reduction in the number of councils

:14:24.:14:30.

-- dramatic reduction, and to do it through a series of mergers. Carwyn

:14:31.:14:35.

Jones started talks with the opposition party leaders to try and

:14:36.:14:38.

fast-track the lawmaking bit of this before the next assembly elections

:14:39.:14:43.

and in a news conference this morning he pretty much admitted that

:14:44.:14:46.

will not happen, the lawmaking element will start after the next

:14:47.:14:49.

assembly elections and will not be completed until 2018. But he did say

:14:50.:14:54.

he will continue the talks with those parties to try and come to an

:14:55.:15:00.

agreement on the map, and idea of a physical, geographical structure of

:15:01.:15:06.

what it will look like. And off the back of that, to the local

:15:07.:15:10.

authorities and try to get them to merge voluntarily, saying it is in

:15:11.:15:13.

their interest to do so. This is what he had to say. I want to be

:15:14.:15:18.

able to be in a position before the summer where there is general

:15:19.:15:21.

agreement about what the map should look like that then offers the

:15:22.:15:27.

opportunity for local authorities to start the merger process

:15:28.:15:32.

voluntarily. But avoids years of uncertainty and the difficult of

:15:33.:15:38.

recruiting. If they merge knowing that the map is complete, we can

:15:39.:15:42.

move forward. How likely is it that he will get support for that?

:15:43.:15:46.

Politically, he needs to see this through. He has ramped up his

:15:47.:15:51.

rhetoric against councils in recent months. He is quite brutal when he

:15:52.:15:55.

talks about them. He talks about how he would not tolerate failures. It

:15:56.:16:01.

will be difficult, the political parties all have issues about things

:16:02.:16:04.

like costs, boundaries, voting reform, the councils themselves have

:16:05.:16:09.

issues. I suspect he will have to persuade the council 's that this is

:16:10.:16:14.

definitely going to happen and then he is some way towards getting those

:16:15.:16:17.

voluntary mergers that he is talking about.

:16:18.:16:19.

Walkers and climbers are being warned to take extra care in the

:16:20.:16:22.

mountains following a string of rescues in Snowdonia at the weekend.

:16:23.:16:26.

Experts say there's a high risk of avalanche after a couple was

:16:27.:16:29.

swept1,000 feet down the mountain by one on Saturday. Another walker fell

:16:30.:16:33.

200 feet after a snow cornice he was walking on collapsed. Roger Pinney

:16:34.:16:36.

reports. These photographs give an idea of

:16:37.:16:40.

what it is like high on Snowdon. They were taken during a rescue on

:16:41.:16:45.

Saturday. This one clearly shows the track of a massive avalanche which

:16:46.:16:48.

swept one Walker 1000 feet down the mountain. Snow on Snowdon at this

:16:49.:16:54.

time of year is not unusual but the moment it is said to be particularly

:16:55.:17:00.

unstable. This is one of the most popular starting off points for

:17:01.:17:04.

walkers going up Snowdon. And you do get an idea of how deceptively

:17:05.:17:08.

conditions are. Down here, there is no snow and it is not even

:17:09.:17:11.

particular the cold. Upon the mountain, the snow starts at 500

:17:12.:17:18.

metres. By the time you get to 800 metres, it is deep. These walkers

:17:19.:17:22.

today turned back. They did not feel safe enough to carry on. Just a bit

:17:23.:17:27.

silly to go any further. The majority of people got to where we

:17:28.:17:31.

were and they turned around as well. The wardens were heading up to see

:17:32.:17:36.

if anyone had gone any further. I think we did the right thing in

:17:37.:17:41.

turning round. This video shows a scene which would not be out of

:17:42.:17:45.

place in the Alps. Team members use a rope to bring a

:17:46.:17:48.

casualty down the mountain after an avalanche. This man says at times

:17:49.:17:56.

conditions at the weekend were atrocious.

:17:57.:18:04.

One of our chaps went through, he was rope at and he went through the

:18:05.:18:11.

cornice. It is a significant risk to them, especially in the wind and the

:18:12.:18:20.

reduced visibility. The most important thing is to have a really

:18:21.:18:25.

good quality walking winter boot. The National mountain centre trains

:18:26.:18:31.

people in the skills they need to keep safe in these conditions, as

:18:32.:18:36.

well as probables, crampons and an ice axe are essential, they say. --

:18:37.:18:39.

probably is. Anti-aging injections, like Botox, have

:18:40.:18:40.

But having your laughter lines done could lead to depression.

:18:41.:18:47.

It is the snow sitting there, and then the Walker putting their weight

:18:48.:18:57.

on it is enough to put it into action. Rescuers say if you survive

:18:58.:19:02.

an avalanche, you can count yourself lucky. The conditions in the

:19:03.:19:06.

mountains can change by the hour. Anti-ageing injections like Botox

:19:07.:19:11.

have become the most popular form of cosmetic treatment in the UK. But

:19:12.:19:15.

having your laughter lines den could lead to depression. A study by

:19:16.:19:18.

Cardiff University reveals a link between the areas of the face where

:19:19.:19:21.

the injections are targeted and the psychological effects experienced by

:19:22.:19:24.

people who've had the treatment. Carwyn Jones reports.

:19:25.:19:30.

This woman from Cardiff has been having Botox injections for ten

:19:31.:19:35.

years. The procedure takes just a few minutes. Three injections around

:19:36.:19:38.

each eye. This needle contains a powerful toxin which smooths out

:19:39.:19:43.

lines and wrinkles are paralysing muscles in the face. It makes you

:19:44.:19:49.

feel better in yourself. Makes you feel happy, cheers you up a bit.

:19:50.:19:55.

Around 200,000 injections are carried out each year. They change

:19:56.:20:01.

how we look on the outside but do they also affect how we feel on the

:20:02.:20:06.

inside? Research by psychologists at Cardiff University has found that

:20:07.:20:09.

people who have treatment on their forehead attentive you happier

:20:10.:20:14.

because the face is unable to form frown lines. But injections for

:20:15.:20:20.

crows feet around the eyes have the opposite effect. People feel

:20:21.:20:25.

depressed and that is because the facial muscles cannot form a true

:20:26.:20:29.

smile. The results were measured using a clinical scale for

:20:30.:20:32.

depression and the findings were stark. Laughter lines, the early

:20:33.:20:37.

data seems to indicate that this kind of treatment can reduce people

:20:38.:20:43.

's ability to smile and makes people less happy. Cosmetic injections are

:20:44.:20:49.

the most popular form of treatment at this clinic in Cardiff. Over the

:20:50.:20:53.

years, this woman has noticed more and more customers having Botox to

:20:54.:20:57.

give them the outward appearance of happiness. Very often, they come in

:20:58.:21:01.

because they are aware that they are frowning a lot or that they are

:21:02.:21:07.

looking miserable and they feel that other people judge them for it. And

:21:08.:21:11.

they want to look like a brighter, happier version of themselves, the

:21:12.:21:16.

kind of person they would like to project. In the UK, the cosmetic

:21:17.:21:20.

sieges industry is booming. Its turnover has turned wood macro

:21:21.:21:25.

increased fivefold in the last ten years as old -- in the last ten

:21:26.:21:39.

years. Rugby, football and Winter Olympics now.

Here's Claire with tonight's sport. Good evening.

:21:42.:21:44.

The Wales squad are back in camp ahead of Friday's Six Nations match

:21:45.:21:47.

with France. There are no fresh injuries but there was confirmation

:21:48.:21:50.

today that Jonathan Davies won't be in contention for Friday night, the

:21:51.:21:53.

Lions centre hasn't fully recovered from injury. Warren Gatland will

:21:54.:21:56.

name his side to face France on Wednesday. Behind the scenes, some

:21:57.:21:59.

positive signs tonight of a resolution in the on-going rugby

:22:00.:22:02.

row. Chief Executive Roger Lewis says there are more talks tomorrow

:22:03.:22:05.

and he's hopeful the matter can be sorted before the end of the Six

:22:06.:22:10.

Nations campaign. The certainty that everyone has been

:22:11.:22:13.

seeking for a Europe and for competitions is close to resolution.

:22:14.:22:18.

I will be back up in London tomorrow with my colleagues from France and

:22:19.:22:22.

Ireland and England. We have a small working party to put the flesh on

:22:23.:22:26.

the bones of what we discussed last week. Personally, for the

:22:27.:22:29.

competitions, I would like to resolve it by the end of the Six

:22:30.:22:33.

Nations. But it will take as long as it takes because we have to get the

:22:34.:22:36.

right resolution, the right decision, the right outcome for

:22:37.:22:39.

rugby. The latest big football event to come to Wales will be worth

:22:40.:22:42.

hundreds of thousands of pounds to the local economy, according to the

:22:43.:22:45.

Welsh Government. The Cardiff City Stadium will host the Super Cup in

:22:46.:22:49.

August, a match between the winners of the Champions League and Europa

:22:50.:22:52.

League. Two former trophy winners, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Kevin

:22:53.:22:55.

Ratcliffe, were on hand for today's official launch. The FA of Wales

:22:56.:22:59.

hopes it will boost Cardiff's chances of being a host city for the

:23:00.:23:04.

European Championships in 2020. Swansea City and Cardiff City can

:23:05.:23:07.

now concentrate on avoiding relegation after getting knocked out

:23:08.:23:12.

of the FA Cup in the fifth round. Despite Jonathan de Guzman's header,

:23:13.:23:15.

Swansea lost 2-1 at Everton, after Neil Taylor's ill-judged back pass

:23:16.:23:18.

let in Stephen Naismith to score the winner. Cardiff also lost 2-1 to Cup

:23:19.:23:22.

holders Wigan. Midfielder Gary Medel tore a muscle in the defeat and

:23:23.:23:29.

could be out for several weeks. Former Swansea City manager Michael

:23:30.:23:31.

Laudrup will speak publically about his sacking for the first time

:23:32.:23:36.

tomorrow. The Dane, who led Swansea to the League Cup title in his first

:23:37.:23:40.

season in charge, is holding a press conference in London. He was

:23:41.:23:43.

dismissed by the club two weeks ago and is now considering whether to

:23:44.:23:48.

take legal action. At the Winter Olympics in Russia,

:23:49.:23:52.

Welsh born skater Lloyd Jones was in action earlier, competing for France

:23:53.:23:57.

in the Free Dance final. He finished 15th. The 25-year-old, who's from

:23:58.:24:01.

Whitchurch in Cardiff, moved abroad for a new partner and better

:24:02.:24:08.

facilities. Another Welshman, Bruce Tasker from Manobier, is part of

:24:09.:24:11.

Great Britain's four man bobsleigh team. He's arrived in Sochi, excited

:24:12.:24:15.

and ready to compete for a medal. He starts his bid for Olympic glory on

:24:16.:24:20.

Saturday. Great to finally be here. We are

:24:21.:24:24.

soaking up the environment and getting it out of our system before

:24:25.:24:29.

we focus on the job in hand. It is just another race. Yes, it is the

:24:30.:24:33.

Olympic Games, it is the pinnacle of our sporting career but the rules do

:24:34.:24:39.

not change, the competitors do not change. We are not changing

:24:40.:24:44.

anything. Got to be brave to do that event.

:24:45.:24:50.

Brave man. Now, the weather forecast.

:24:51.:24:54.

Some good news. I'm not expecting any big storms this week which makes

:24:55.:25:00.

a change. Mind you, it's not going to be completely dry with further

:25:01.:25:04.

rain and heavy showers at times. And given the ground is so wet and

:25:05.:25:07.

saturated, relatively small amounts of rain could lead to further

:25:08.:25:09.

localised flooding, especially in the south. We've all seen some rain

:25:10.:25:13.

today spreading north across the country. The rain heaviest on the

:25:14.:25:17.

high ground in the south with around 20mm. This evening rain will clear.

:25:18.:25:24.

Followed by a few scattered showers but a lot of places becoming dry.

:25:25.:25:30.

The wind falling light with lowest temperatures four to seven Celsius.

:25:31.:25:33.

Here's the picture for 8am. A grey start in places with some low cloud,

:25:34.:25:40.

mist and hill fog. One or two showers here and there, otherwise

:25:41.:25:44.

most of the country dry. Light winds and not too cold. During the day,

:25:45.:25:48.

the low cloud and mist will lift. It will brighten up in places with

:25:49.:25:51.

sunshine. You may catch a shower but these few and far between. A lot of

:25:52.:25:55.

places will enjoy a dry afternoon. Top temperatures seven to ten

:25:56.:25:58.

Celsius. Above average for February with a light west to south-westerly

:25:59.:26:05.

breeze. Moderate on some coasts. Tomorrow evening dry for a while but

:26:06.:26:08.

some showery rain will spread across the country later in the evening and

:26:09.:26:11.

overnight. Wednesday showery rain first thing will clear. Most of the

:26:12.:26:16.

day then dry. Plenty of cloud but bright in places with some sunshine.

:26:17.:26:21.

Overnight into Thursday. More rain on the way. So a wet and windy start

:26:22.:26:26.

on Thursday. The rain clearing to sunshine and showers. Friday windy

:26:27.:26:31.

and chilly with sunshine and squally showers. Hail and thunder possible.

:26:32.:26:43.

Wintry on high ground with snow. Our picture tonight is from Louise

:26:44.:26:46.

Rixon. Sunshine in the Brecon Beacons yesterday. Thanks, Louise.

:26:47.:26:49.

More rain and showers on the way this week but I can promise some dry

:26:50.:26:51.

weather and sunshine as well. To write headlines. The war of words

:26:52.:27:02.

over the future of Scotland has intensified. Alex Salmond has said

:27:03.:27:06.

that mocking an independent Scotland's ability to share the

:27:07.:27:10.

pound could damage business in the rest of the UK -- blocking. Lastly,

:27:11.:27:14.

George Osborne said they vote for independence meant walking away from

:27:15.:27:19.

the pound -- last week. Pinewood Studios will open a new

:27:20.:27:23.

facility in Cardiff. The Welsh Government says the deal could

:27:24.:27:28.

generate around ?90 million and support 2000 jobs over five years.

:27:29.:27:32.

X Ray is coming up in 30 minutes. Here's Lucy and Rhodri with what's

:27:33.:27:34.

in tonight's programme. Tonight, we go undercover to expose

:27:35.:27:39.

the trading shoddy counterfeit goods which is sweeping through Wales.

:27:40.:27:47.

And how would you claim compensation if you're car is damaged by a

:27:48.:27:52.

pothole? All that and more. I'll have an

:27:53.:27:57.

update for you here at 8pm and after the BBC News at Ten.

:27:58.:28:00.

That's Wales Today. Thank you for watching. From all of us on the

:28:01.:28:02.

programme, good evening.
