The number of eye patients waiting more than nine months

for their first appointment with a consultant, has more than doubled in

Plans for a new Welsh Language centre in Cardiff have been

announced, at the city's annual Welsh Language festival.

The ambition is to create somewhere for people to learn -

as well as a research centre for language and bilingualism.

This is an exciting project that draws on the strong tradition in

Cardiff and Wales for the Welsh language. It is a fantastic asset

that we need to do more to sell to the world. A centre like this can

help with tourism, in terms of education.
