Muslims in Wales are living in "immense fear" of backlashes,

following the Paris terrorist attacks.

That's according to a senior figure at the Muslim Council of Wales.

Tonight more than 100 people gathered outside the National

Assembly for a vigil for those who died as Nicola Smith reports.

We don't have to be afraid because of terrorism. The colours of the

trucker Law shone brightly once more on famous buildings and monuments.

Amongst the Muslim community, there is now a growing sense of fear. This

person from the Muslim Council of Wales says she condemned the attacks

would raise concerns about a potential backlash. Personally, I

have faced verbal and sometimes physical abuses. I don't know what

life is like without Islamophobia. I'm a professional scientist working

in a local hospital and sometimes patients around the CDs abuses.

Maybe we dress differently and have different practices but we are human

beings. We share our universal values. There were hardly any people

she has been over one and by messages of support. I have found

more than 100 messages within four hours yesterday morning, from people

from all strands of Wales, MPs, AM 's, representatives of the religious

communities. It has been really comforting to feel solidarity and

support in such hard times. The Muslim Council for Wales says there

is already a positive relationship between them, the Welsh government

and the police. But they say more can and should be done to ensure a

greater understanding and tolerance of different cultures here.
