An investigation is underway tonight into a fire at a primary

Ten fire crews worked through the night to bring

They were unable to save infant and nursery classrooms

at Coed Eva Primary school, but did prevent the fire spreading

It started in the early hours and quickly took hold.

The flames ripped through the classroom used by the infant

In the daylight, the destruction was met with disbelief and heartache.

By children and parents who had gathered outside the gates.

She is absolutely devastated, absolutely devastated, aren't you?

I don't think they have realised how many lives they have devastated.

And it is unoccupied and it is the small hours

You are going to get quite a well-developed fire before

the call goes into the Fire and Rescue Service.

Coed Eva is a school of more than 500 pupils.

The challenge now will be to open it as soon as possible.

I think the main priority for all of us, we have always done

everything together and my key aim is that we keep everybody on site

so we can accommodate everybody in our junior building,

Meanwhile, a criminal investigation is underway.

A 33-year-old man has been killed - and another is in hospital -

Police have named the man who died as Simon Lewis from the Trowbridge

The incident, involving four cars, happened on Lamby Way.

A 32-year-old woman and a three-year-old child were also

treated in hospital but later discharged.

The police helicopter service covering mid and south-west Wales

The operations of the Dyfed-Powys Police Helicopter were taken over

by the National Police Air Service at midnight.

The force's commissioner says it'll still mean 24-hour air cover.

Rugby and the first Pro 12 Welsh derby of the day saw the Ospreys

beat the Dragons 12-7 at the Liberty Stadium.
