In the past hour, Liberal Democrat Kirsty Williams has been given

:00:11.:00:14.

a cabinet job in Carwyn Jones' Labour government.

:00:15.:00:22.

Carwyn Jones continues to try to reach out to the other parties. He

:00:23.:00:28.

has reached out to Plaid Cymru and now a Lib Dem is at the heart of the

:00:29.:00:30.

Labour government. Also tonight, Richard Osman

:00:31.:00:37.

from Carmarthen is believed to be among the 66 people on board

of Snowdonia - how visitors and businesses will be asked

:01:19.:01:21.

to help foot the bill. The First Minister Carwyn Jones has

:01:22.:01:29.

announced his cabinet. Liberal Democrat AM

the need for progressive Our politcal editor Nick Servini

is at the Welsh government's offices in Cardiff,

:01:42.:01:46.

where the cabinet was announced. It has been a dramatic couple of

:01:47.:02:02.

weeks for Welsh politics and after the theatre and drama of the

:02:03.:02:07.

Assembly in Cardiff Bay, the action has come here to the heart of

:02:08.:02:12.

government in the centre of Cardiff. And in keeping with what we have

:02:13.:02:17.

seen of late, there were some real surprises here. Some big changes, as

:02:18.:02:23.

expected, at the top of the big briefs of the economy and health,

:02:24.:02:28.

but it will be the change at the top of education that will get all the

:02:29.:02:31.

headlines. Smiles all round as Carwyn Jones's

:02:32.:02:36.

new look cabinet lines up for the first time. There were many familiar

:02:37.:02:41.

faces from the Labour Party, one that was conspicuous by its absence

:02:42.:02:46.

was the Liberal Democrat offered the job as Education Secretary, Kirsty

:02:47.:02:50.

Williams. She needs to get her appointment ratified by a special

:02:51.:02:58.

Lib conference on the weekend. Earlier, Carwyn Jones was sworn in

:02:59.:03:01.

as First Minister after receiving approval from the Queen and after a

:03:02.:03:05.

dramatic week in which his initial nomination was blocked by opposition

:03:06.:03:11.

parties. Bringing Kirsty Williams into the cabinet still does not give

:03:12.:03:17.

the party and overall majority at the Assembly but Carwyn Jones said

:03:18.:03:21.

he wanted to reach out. First of all, I meant what I said on

:03:22.:03:26.

Wednesday. I don't want to be tribal for tribalism's sake. I think she

:03:27.:03:34.

will be a very good minister. And 30 makes a difference in the chamber. I

:03:35.:03:39.

recognise the arithmetic. If you have 29, you are always fun double

:03:40.:03:44.

two a no-confidence vote. But Kirsty is someone who can do a very good

:03:45.:03:50.

job. These standout appointment is of course Kirsty Williams. In making

:03:51.:03:55.

that decision, Carwyn Jones has stressed his lack of tribalism. For

:03:56.:04:00.

Kirsty Williams it is a case of poacher turned gamekeeper,

:04:01.:04:04.

particularly after she laid into his record on education in the build-up

:04:05.:04:09.

to the Assembly election. Instead of ministers, the new Cabinet ministers

:04:10.:04:13.

will be called secretaries. And this is its make-up. Vaughan Gething,

:04:14.:04:21.

Kirsty Williams, Ken Skates, Mark Drakeford, Carl Sargeant, Lesley

:04:22.:04:34.

Griffiths and Jane Hutt. Julie James and Rebecca Evans are ministers and

:04:35.:04:40.

Alun Davies, who was sacked from the government, is backing from the cold

:04:41.:04:43.

as the Minister for lifelong learning and Welsh language. The

:04:44.:04:49.

Health Secretary faces major challenges, bringing down waiting

:04:50.:04:52.

times and dealing with the health board covering North Wales, Betsy

:04:53.:04:59.

to, which is in special measures. In education, the new secretary will

:05:00.:05:02.

oversee major changes, including a new curriculum. And for the economy

:05:03.:05:11.

secretary, top of the in tray will be a decision on controversial plans

:05:12.:05:14.

for an M4 relief road around Newport. So it is the same

:05:15.:05:19.

challenges as before the election but there is a new team in place to

:05:20.:05:23.

try to deal with them over the next five years.

:05:24.:05:25.

Nick, how big a decision is this by Carwyn Jones to bring

:05:26.:05:28.

in a Liberal Democrat into the heart of government?

:05:29.:05:33.

Let's talk about it from Kirsty Williams' perspective. The real

:05:34.:05:41.

danger is, the last remaining Lib Dem in the Assembly, is that

:05:42.:05:45.

identity going to get swallowed up in the Labour machine, even though

:05:46.:05:49.

she will remain a Lib Dem politician? Speaking to the party

:05:50.:05:53.

tonight, they say there is going to be a danger of that happening anyway

:05:54.:05:57.

so you might as well be in a place where you can make a real

:05:58.:06:01.

difference. And no doubt opponents will dredge up some of the comments

:06:02.:06:09.

she said in the past that have been highly critical of labour's

:06:10.:06:11.

education policy and she is going to have to deal with those. From Carwyn

:06:12.:06:14.

Jones' perspective, one danger is that he has overlooked senior Labour

:06:15.:06:18.

figures for a plum job like that but it is all part of his attempts to

:06:19.:06:24.

try to reach out to other parties. The question is, how successful will

:06:25.:06:29.

he be? Plaid Cymru are seeing the Assembly is too cosy and the

:06:30.:06:34.

Conservatives are saying the appointment of Kirsty Williams is

:06:35.:06:37.

anti-democratic because the party did so badly in the Assembly

:06:38.:06:38.

election. It's feared a Welshman could be one

:06:39.:06:40.

of the 66 people on the EgyptAir flight which disappeared over

:06:41.:06:44.

the Mediterranean Sea. 40-year-old Richard Osman,

:06:45.:06:46.

who grew up in Tanerdy, is a geologist who worked for a gold

:06:47.:06:48.

mining company in Egypt. It's understood he had been

:06:49.:06:52.

a passenger on the flight from Paris to Cairo which crashed in the early

:06:53.:06:55.

hours of this morning. Still no clarity yet on what caused

:06:56.:07:12.

the crash of the EgyptAir plane. But that the investigation got under

:07:13.:07:16.

way, details began to trickle out on social media sites about the

:07:17.:07:20.

passenger list and the 66 people who had been on board. It is known there

:07:21.:07:26.

was one British and and that is believed to be 40-year-old Richard

:07:27.:07:30.

Osman. A geologist who worked for a gold mining company with offices in

:07:31.:07:36.

each, Australia and Jersey, he grew up and went to school in Carmarthen.

:07:37.:07:42.

The eldest of four children, his Egyptian father moved to Wales to

:07:43.:07:47.

work as a consultant in Swansea. The family also have links to the

:07:48.:07:51.

mumbles. Their former neighbours were too upset to talk but told us

:07:52.:07:55.

they remember him well. The Foreign Office have not yet confirmed he is

:07:56.:07:59.

the missing British passenger but First Minister Carwyn Jones said his

:08:00.:08:04.

officials will be using with them, saying he was horrified to hear

:08:05.:08:08.

reports that a Welshman may be among the victims.

:08:09.:08:10.

A man whose mummified remains were discovered behind flats

:08:11.:08:13.

in Beddau in Rhondda Cynon Taf had been unlawfully killed by his wife

:08:14.:08:16.

An inquest has heard how Lee Ann Sabine fractured her husband

:08:17.:08:21.

John's skull with a stone garden ornament, some time between February

:08:22.:08:24.

However, his body wasn't found until just after she died

:08:25.:08:28.

It was a call to police from a housing officer saying they believe

:08:29.:08:44.

tennis had found a medical skeleton in the back of the flats that

:08:45.:08:48.

sparked a murder enquiry. Scenes of crime officers spent most of the day

:08:49.:08:52.

at the property backing evidence after the suspect package in the

:08:53.:08:57.

garden had turned up to BD mummified remains of a man, later identified

:08:58.:09:01.

as John Sabine, who had lived there with his wife Lee Ann Sabine up

:09:02.:09:07.

until 1997. The inquest into the gruesome circumstances of his death

:09:08.:09:16.

has been launched. The coroner was told the body was wrapped in many

:09:17.:09:23.

layers of material. A subsequent postmortem examination revealed the

:09:24.:09:27.

body to be that of a man in his 60s who had died of a blunt force trauma

:09:28.:09:31.

to the head. And this was the unusual weapon the pathologist

:09:32.:09:36.

believed was used. A stone frog will -- weighing 1.1 kilograms. The

:09:37.:09:41.

indentations in the skull a perfect match to the shape. Through DNA,

:09:42.:09:45.

John Sabine was identified and the murder enquiry concluded his wife

:09:46.:09:52.

Lee Ann Sabine murdered him. But she died of cancer just seven weeks

:09:53.:09:59.

before John's body was discovered. It was not moved until 2014, when

:10:00.:10:05.

she asked two friends to take the role that carpet from her flat down

:10:06.:10:09.

to the garden in who we bin. Unwittingly, they had moved the body

:10:10.:10:15.

for her. They had lived all over the UK, New Zealand, Australia. They

:10:16.:10:19.

kept no close friends, no close family members and she kept that

:10:20.:10:23.

these bizarre that John had either left are all was with another women

:10:24.:10:29.

or had indeed died. He was also kept on the voters register, his pension

:10:30.:10:34.

was claimed and sadly, no one missed John Sabine. As the investigation

:10:35.:10:38.

continued, please unravel the double two at family past. They abandoned

:10:39.:10:43.

their five children in New Zealand. Once grown up, they pursued them

:10:44.:10:50.

live on TV looking for answers. And John Sabine also had a family from

:10:51.:10:55.

his first marriage. His son Christopher, now in his 60s, only

:10:56.:10:58.

knew his father for a brief six-month period. When they said

:10:59.:11:04.

they had found a body, I was very surprised. I could not believe it.

:11:05.:11:10.

We did not know what happened. We tried to contact them on numerous

:11:11.:11:13.

occasions but they never replied to any calls. We did not know whether

:11:14.:11:20.

he was dead already or not. We had no idea. But you knew he was living

:11:21.:11:27.

in south Wales? No. Michelle James discovered the body and police

:11:28.:11:32.

questioned her for a while. She was a summary did but she says it was an

:11:33.:11:36.

episode in her life she will never recover from. I have lost sleep

:11:37.:11:42.

through it, self harm as well, which I have never done before. It turned

:11:43.:11:47.

my whole life and side down. I never thought anybody could do something

:11:48.:11:51.

like that. How is the evil out there like that? People might say it might

:11:52.:11:57.

be one in a million it might happen to, but be careful of your

:11:58.:12:02.

neighbours are. The coroner for South Wales Central, Andrew Barclay,

:12:03.:12:06.

said there was no evidence to suggest John Sabine was alive after

:12:07.:12:10.

April 1997 and he said it was clear he died of a blunt force injuries to

:12:11.:12:14.

the head. He recorded a verdict of unlawful killing.

:12:15.:12:17.

Police investigating an historical murder are searching

:12:18.:12:19.

Forensic officers, police dogs and specialist army teams have spent

:12:20.:12:23.

the day examining forestry at Nant y Ffrith.

:12:24.:12:26.

Several other searches have taken place, including one

:12:27.:12:28.

It's believed the body of an unidentified man may have been

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a 73-year-old

Andrew Seal, who is 49 and also from Ogmore Vale,

:12:40.:12:44.

has been charged with the murder of Gwilym Jones and the attempted

:12:45.:12:47.

Police are appealing for any information.

:12:48.:12:52.

Two Dyfed-Powys Police officers have appeared in court charged

Stephen Greensmyth and Rhys James are accused of supplying a Class B

:13:00.:13:05.

BBC Wales has learned that the leader of Carmarthenshire

:13:06.:13:14.

Parents of pupils at a Powys school are launching a legal challenge

:13:15.:13:16.

against the local council after being told transport could no

:13:17.:13:19.

longer be subsidised for children from outside the catchment area.

:13:20.:13:22.

Llanfyllin High School was found to have broken council rules

:13:23.:13:24.

earlier this year for subsidising the bus fares and has since been

:13:25.:13:27.

Ruth Evans from Oswestry catches up with her daughter

:13:28.:13:34.

13-year-old Lydia has just been dropped off by the school bus

:13:35.:13:39.

as she studies over the border at Llanfyllin High School.

:13:40.:13:43.

At the moment, her mum pays ?80 a term for a subsidised school bus

:13:44.:13:47.

service but after a ruling by Powys Council, that

:13:48.:13:50.

Ruth is a single mum and works in a hospice.

:13:51.:13:54.

She says she can't afford this price hike and will have to make her

:13:55.:13:58.

We are paying ?240 a year at the moment, so ?80 a term.

:13:59.:14:05.

So there is no way I can afford to go up to ?800.

:14:06.:14:09.

What will it mean to Lydia if you have to take her out

:14:10.:14:12.

of school because you can't afford the transport costs?

:14:13.:14:15.

She has learned her lessons for two years in Welsh and she would have

:14:16.:14:18.

She would be devastated to change schools.

:14:19.:14:24.

Llanfyllin High School broke council rules after spending ?500,000 over

:14:25.:14:29.

five years to bus 200 pupils from outside the catchment area.

:14:30.:14:33.

It was told to pay back just ?17,000 but governors claim the council

:14:34.:14:38.

was aware of the school's actions and parents have now threaten

:14:39.:14:42.

We took specialist barrister's advice and it was his opinion

:14:43.:14:48.

that there are merits in mounting a legal challenge to

:14:49.:14:53.

the decision on the basis that Powys County Council did not

:14:54.:14:57.

necessarily choose the correct course of action in implementing

:14:58.:15:01.

their policy decision in the first place.

:15:02.:15:04.

Oswestry has its own secondary school but many parents

:15:05.:15:07.

are attracted over the border by the dual stream

:15:08.:15:09.

It is market day in Oswestry and you hear plenty of people

:15:10.:15:14.

speaking Welsh and there are plenty of street names and place names

:15:15.:15:18.

It is right on the border and it is those historical

:15:19.:15:23.

and cultural links to Wales why many parents decide

:15:24.:15:26.

to send their children to school over the border in Llanfyllin.

:15:27.:15:29.

Jane does not want to see her children separated

:15:30.:15:36.

I am Welsh and I would like my children to go

:15:37.:15:42.

there to have the option to learn Welsh.

:15:43.:15:44.

My son enjoys agriculture, to take part in the Eisteddfod,

:15:45.:15:47.

things like that, but really we have to consider as a family,

:15:48.:15:52.

are we prepared to spend that sort of money per year on transport?

:15:53.:15:56.

Powys Council say an independent barrister is carrying out

:15:57.:16:00.

The Lewises and all parents involved say they will fight this price

:16:01.:16:05.

increase to keep their children's education in Wales.

:16:06.:16:10.

The choir for people with dementia that's inspired a new play,

:16:11.:16:17.

telling the stories of those living with the condition.

:16:18.:16:22.

And enjoying the climb - but walkers and businesses will be

:16:23.:16:26.

asked to help foot the bill to maintain Snowdon's footpaths.

:16:27.:16:34.

There is a much stronger chance of saving the steel industry

:16:35.:16:37.

if the UK decides to stay in the European Union.

:16:38.:16:40.

That's what the Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns has said today.

:16:41.:16:43.

But campaigners urging a Leave vote in June's referendum say the EU has

:16:44.:16:47.

limited what both the Welsh and UK governments can do

:16:48.:16:50.

Our political reporter James Williams is here with the details.

:16:51.:16:57.

In exactly five weeks time, we as a country face one

:16:58.:17:01.

of the biggest decisions in our lifetimes.

:17:02.:17:03.

Now, there are many big issues at the heart of the European Union

:17:04.:17:06.

For example, the economy, our security as a nation

:17:07.:17:11.

and who should make the decisions that affect our lives.

:17:12.:17:14.

Here in Wales, following Tata Steel's decision earlier

:17:15.:17:17.

in the year to sell its UK operations, there is also a big

:17:18.:17:20.

debate over whether the ailing steel industry that employs thousands

:17:21.:17:24.

of Welsh workers would be better or worse off

:17:25.:17:27.

Speaking to an audience of business leaders in Swansea

:17:28.:17:33.

earlier this morning, the pro-EU Welsh Secretary

:17:34.:17:36.

Although there are no guarantees, be in no doubt, our membership

:17:37.:17:42.

of the European Union makes our chances of

:17:43.:17:46.

gaining that buyer, of defending our industry,

:17:47.:17:49.

Membership of the European Union is fundamental to simply attracting

:17:50.:17:54.

investors and buyers because of the benefits the market

:17:55.:17:58.

The dumping of cheap Chinese steel on the European market is seen

:17:59.:18:05.

Campaigners for a Leave vote say we would be better able to respond

:18:06.:18:11.

It is remaining in the EU which is risking the death

:18:12.:18:18.

The EU is not protecting us against dumped Chinese steel,

:18:19.:18:24.

it is giving us sky high energy prices, it is not even letting us

:18:25.:18:27.

cut the business rates, and for those reason we believe

:18:28.:18:30.

a vote Leave vote on June 23rd is the only hope for

:18:31.:18:33.

a sustainable future for steel in Wales and the UK.

:18:34.:18:37.

So, steel is just one of the many key issues in this referendum

:18:38.:18:40.

campaign that could help you decide how you're going to

:18:41.:18:43.

answer the referendum question on June 23rd.

:18:44.:18:46.

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union

:18:47.:18:49.

Now, if you were registered to vote in the Welsh Assembly election then

:18:50.:18:55.

you'll be able to vote in the referendum.

:18:56.:18:58.

If not, then you have until the 7th of June to register.

:18:59.:19:04.

Dementia is a condition that affects 45,000 people in Wales and,

:19:05.:19:09.

as part of dementia awareness week, two new dramas are hoping to raise

:19:10.:19:13.

awareness about the impact it's having on Welsh communities.

:19:14.:19:17.

Before I Leave by National Theatre Wales and Belonging,

:19:18.:19:20.

which is currently touring the country, both try

:19:21.:19:22.

to break some of the taboos that surround dementia.

:19:23.:19:25.

Our arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas has been finding out

:19:26.:19:28.

about the plays and the stories that inspired them.

:19:29.:19:31.

In Merthyr, a choir for people with dementia offers respite,

:19:32.:19:38.

relaxation and therapy for people who are living with the condition.

:19:39.:19:43.

It's an inspiring sight and it's prompted a drama that'll use music

:19:44.:19:46.

to tell the stories of people like these.

:19:47.:19:51.

Before I Leave is still locked in rehearsals.

:19:52.:19:53.

It's a play where young and old actors tackle some

:19:54.:19:56.

of the taboos around dementia to a soundtrack of Welsh songs.

:19:57.:20:00.

Thousands of people in Wales are living with dementia.

:20:01.:20:02.

Many more of us will know somebody who has been affected by it

:20:03.:20:06.

but it can be an incredibly difficult subject to talk

:20:07.:20:09.

about and that is where drama could help to break some of those taboos.

:20:10.:20:14.

Written by Patrick Jones, the play includes a new song

:20:15.:20:19.

by his brother Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers.

:20:20.:20:22.

But it focuses on real experiences, and how closer communities could

:20:23.:20:26.

I try and make comment about society and we are in the age of the big

:20:27.:20:32.

society, people are coming together who don't have much and are pulling

:20:33.:20:37.

I have been a nurse for four years now and one of the hardest parts

:20:38.:20:43.

of the job is caring for patients with dementia.

:20:44.:20:46.

On a different stage, another play trying to make sense of dementia.

:20:47.:20:50.

Belonging is touring Wales and shines a light on the struggle

:20:51.:20:53.

facing some Welsh-speaking patients to be treated in their native

:20:54.:20:56.

language, at a time when life can be confusing enough.

:20:57.:21:00.

I live up in North Wales and, generally, people

:21:01.:21:04.

within the profession, their attitude, they are aware

:21:05.:21:07.

of this happening, with the Welsh language in particular.

:21:08.:21:11.

Attitudes generally are very healthy as far as that is concerned,

:21:12.:21:15.

but maybe there are individuals, and this needs to be

:21:16.:21:18.

In song or on stage, sharing stories about dementia gives

:21:19.:21:24.

a voice to a condition that too often has remained

:21:25.:21:27.

And on tomorrow night's programme we'll bring you a special report

:21:28.:21:35.

looking at how Wales is leading the way in dementia research.

:21:36.:21:39.

Visitors to Snowdon are being asked to pay

:21:40.:21:42.

towards the cost of maintaining the mountain's footpaths.

:21:43.:21:45.

It's the idea of the Snowdon Partnership, which is made up

:21:46.:21:47.

of local groups and businesses, but the scheme is

:21:48.:21:50.

meeting resistance, as Roger Pinney reports.

:21:51.:21:54.

Perhaps it was the weather, rain and high winds,

:21:55.:21:58.

but walkers were few and far between on the Llanberis path today.

:21:59.:22:01.

The damage caused by the thousands of feet that pass this way each year

:22:02.:22:06.

Paths which cost the National Park Authority ?250,000

:22:07.:22:12.

In the shelter of the valley, there were plenty of visitors.

:22:13.:22:19.

Quite a few enjoying a trip on the Llanberis railway.

:22:20.:22:23.

This is one of the businesses supporting the Visitors Giving

:22:24.:22:26.

From their cafe they have decided to give a share of their sales

:22:27.:22:30.

We are going to have posters around the cafe and a shop explaining

:22:31.:22:38.

that we are a partner in the Visitor Giving

:22:39.:22:41.

will be able read it from the literature we have got.

:22:42.:22:46.

However, we are not going to be increasing the price

:22:47.:22:49.

of the produce we sell, so we are going to be taking it out

:22:50.:22:52.

of the profit we make on them without penalising our customers.

:22:53.:22:57.

Other businesses say they will offer customers the chance to add a little

:22:58.:23:01.

to their bills but the principle is to keep it entirely voluntary.

:23:02.:23:05.

The Snowdon Partnership asked 100 businesses to take part.

:23:06.:23:12.

Dylan Jones has run his outdoor equipment shop for nine years

:23:13.:23:18.

and he is worried about how the scheme could work

:23:19.:23:20.

Implementing it is going to be difficult for some businesses,

:23:21.:23:28.

It is probably harder in the retail sector where you are very cost

:23:29.:23:35.

driven or price conscious and adding a pound to everybody's bill

:23:36.:23:39.

People complain about 5p for the plastic bag tax.

:23:40.:23:46.

This opens up a wider question which goes way beyond Llanberis.

:23:47.:23:51.

How much should visitors pay towards the cost of local services?

:23:52.:23:55.

If you go abroad, you pay a tourist tax in lots of countries

:23:56.:23:59.

and in London they discuss charging visitors a pound a night

:24:00.:24:03.

Tourist tax? Absolutely not.

:24:04.:24:07.

It should be open and free to everybody who wants to enjoy

:24:08.:24:11.

They are taking advantage of what is here and if we don't help

:24:12.:24:18.

maintain it, it is not going to be here for our grandchildren.

:24:19.:24:21.

I want my grandchildren to enjoy this too.

:24:22.:24:24.

In Llanberis, the Visitor Giving scheme kicks off

:24:25.:24:29.

I think the water proofs will come in handy.

:24:30.:24:40.

The weather will be up and down over the next few days.

:24:41.:24:43.

That said, there will be some dry, bright spells as well.

:24:44.:24:46.

Some hazy sunshine in South Cornelly.

:24:47.:24:50.

But the weather went downhill during the afternoon.

:24:51.:24:53.

Cloud spreading from the west, bringing rain.

:24:54.:24:55.

So this evening, rain, drizzle and mist, but this

:24:56.:24:59.

A lot of cloud and a relatively mild night with a south-westerly breeze.

:25:00.:25:05.

Here's the picture for 8:00am in the morning.

:25:06.:25:08.

Plenty of cloud but bright in places.

:25:09.:25:14.

12 Celsius in Aber with a south-westerly breeze.

:25:15.:25:24.

However, cloud will increase during the afternoon with some rain.

:25:25.:25:33.

Top temperatures in the north-east up to 18 Celsius.

:25:34.:25:37.

Cooler on windward coasts with a south to south-westerly breeze.

:25:38.:25:42.

In Flintshire tomorrow, dry with sunny intervals.

:25:43.:25:45.

17 Celsius in Queensferry in Pembrokeshire.

:25:46.:25:49.

A good part of the day dry but a little rain

:25:50.:25:52.

By the way, the Trefriw Walking Festival starts

:25:53.:25:57.

The rain should hold-off until the evening.

:25:58.:26:04.

Tomorrow's chart shows low pressure over the Atlantic and this warm

:26:05.:26:06.

So tomorrow night cloudy and mild with outbreaks of rain.

:26:07.:26:14.

Some heavy rain but it should dry and brighten-up

:26:15.:26:16.

later in the afternoon with a better evening.

:26:17.:26:22.

More wet and breezy weather on Saturday.

:26:23.:26:25.

Heavy in places with thunder but some places will stay dry.

:26:26.:26:46.

Tonight's top story. The Liberal Democrats' only AM, Kirsty Williams,

:26:47.:26:56.

has been appointed as Education Secretary. The First Minister says

:26:57.:26:59.

it reflects the need for parties to work together. And since we have

:27:00.:27:06.

been on air, Kirsty Williams has given this reaction. The First

:27:07.:27:11.

Minister said very clearly no party has a monopoly on good ideas. I

:27:12.:27:16.

think that is the case. We have a chance to do Welsh politics

:27:17.:27:19.

differently, working with other political parties, focusing on where

:27:20.:27:24.

there is agreement and will be can push Wales forward.

:27:25.:27:30.

And Richard Osman, who grew up in Carmarthen, is believed to be one of

:27:31.:27:35.

the 66 people still missing after a plane crashed into the Mediterranean

:27:36.:27:38.

Sea in the early hours of the morning.

:27:39.:27:40.

We'll be back with another update at 8:00pm and again

:27:41.:27:44.

Until then, from everyone on the team, goodbye.

:27:45.:27:46.
