An industry body has warned that Europe's steel industry

"won't survive" if the European Union grants China a special

The European Steel Association has urged the EU to dismiss the idea,

saying the country's steel would flood the market.

Thousands of Welsh steel jobs are at risk, following Tata's

With a steel crisis continuing to cast a long shadow, referendum

campaigners from both sides of the debate have a different take on the

role of ruffles. Welsh Steelworkers back in February urging the EU to

take action against cheap Chinese steel. Taxes have since been raised

on some products but the industry have other concerns. Do you believe

if China is granted market economy status it would make the steel

crisis worse? I think we will not survive. The dimension of the

Chinese access steel capacity is such that it would cause the

non-survival of the European steel industry. China does not currently

have nonmarket economy status because the government is seen to

interfere in the market. The government is considering granting

China at this special status which could mean its exports attract lower

taxes. The European Commission which has been investigating Chinese steel

dumping for the last ten years without taking any action is clearly

not acting in our best interest. I think we have a much better chance

of protecting the steel industry at the EU level than a UK level.

Currently the EU Parliament position is we would not accept economy

market status or China. The relationship with the EU and the

fate of welsh Steelworkers are two big question is soon to be answered

that would shape our future for years to come.

There was a friendly atmosphere for the only Welsh warm up match ahead

of the tournament proper. All teams where keen to avoid any last-minute

injuries. Lying back and soaking it all up we are here for the start of

our campaign. Wills are now going to play on the highest stage. It is a

massive event for Wales and it has been a long time coming. Gareth Bale

did not start the match and there were some anxious moments for those

who did. First David Vaughan bundled over then the all took out Johnny

Williams. The breakthrough came just before half-time, the Wales defence

are undone by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. While Wales failed to register any

shots on goal in the Sweden took control and double their lead, Wales

twice cleared but could not keep out the third attempt. With half an hour

left the star welsh player Gareth Beal made his first appearance in

eight months for his country and sure enough soon threatened up front

but the last word went to Sweden, a third goal and plenty for Chris

Coleman to ponder. His side has won just once in seven games. We did not

get what we wanted in every aspect to be honest but in saying that we

have to make sure we are positive for the players, build them up this

week and get them ready. Now we can look forward to going to the Euros

and show them what we are capable of doing but obviously we have to play

a lot better than we did today. The final warm up game is done and

players are arriving tonight at their base in northern France. Or

the coming days many fans will make the same journey. The pressure is
