A 33-year-old man is still being questioned, and two houses

in the city have been searched by police.

From yesterday afternoon, through the night and today, the police have

been searching this news now the Riverside area of Cardiff. Though

not confirmed, it is believed to be connected to the investigation by

counter-terrorism police. The BBC understands that the arrest made

yesterday afternoon in Cardiff is related to alleged Islamist

terrorism. The Metropolitan Police indicated that the arrest relates to

a possible attack within the UKment the man that lives here in Rennie

Street has not been named but local people say he lived there more than

20 years, a Cardiff man. Former councillor, Mohammed Islam lives in

this neighbourhood. He told me about how people feel about what happened.

It is shocking and horrifying for us in the local community. The

Riverside has become a centre point for media as well as the police, the

Metropolitan Police, for this operation for this kind of incident

it is very upsetting for the local residents.

The local residents of the area find it disturbing and upsetting for us,

especially for family and young children. We wake up in the morning

and we see the police vans, so it is not really nice.

Another man who lived here all his life told me how shocked he was.

It is worrying to are my children and stuff when they go to the shops

and see people walking and the police around. They get terrified.

The 33-year-old man arrested in the city yesterday afternoon is being

held at a Central London police station. Questioned on suspicion of

the commission, preparation and the instigation of Terrorist Acts. The

police say that the arrest was prove planned. The result of an

investigation by the NPS Counter Terrorism Command, supported by the

Wales Extremism and counter-terrorism Unit. Meanwhile,

another search has been taking place at a house in the nearby Grangetown

at a house in the nearby Grangetown areas of the city.

to charge more for courses next year - unlike their

decides on fee levels for universities in Wales and the

fee will be frozen in Wales and the maximum fee level not going higher

than ?9,000 next year. She says that Welsh students studying in England

can extend tuition fees loans to cover extra costs if the courses

become more expensive. The reaction today coming from the NUS, they have

welcomed the announcement. In the summer, the vice chancellor of

Swansea University, reacted to the decision in the rise in English

university fees, said there was a risk that Welsh universities could

become second rate if they were not allowed to charge more. We have

spoken to him, he hopes that the Welsh Government will allow for

inflation in university costs but really everybody to focus on the

university education next week and what the review will say about the

tuition fee grant, the ?5,000 that the Welsh Government pays towards

Welsh student tuition fees. So a part of the jigsaw of student
