drop in air temperature this week and as a result of the air pressure

drop which is bringing us unsettled weather continuing through the

weekend. Heavy showers and longer spells of rain but don't give up on

it. Some sunshine breaking through, as well. When it does, reasonably

warm. Temperatures were they should be at this time of year. Warm

overnight, especially in the south of the UK. About the same as last

night. A fine start for many, particularly in the northern half of

the UK. Further south, and very different story, outbreaks of rain.

Big storm is brewing up across parts of France just at the moment. A

different story here but across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland,

northern England, a fine day by and large. Plenty of sunshine in between

the showers. Then we start to find the clouds pushing further

southwards. Not a lot of rain at this stage but the far south-west of

England staying dry. A damp looking afternoon in the Midlands, East

Anglia and the rest of southern England, with heavy bursts possible

almost anywhere. A great evening for athletics at the Olympic Stadium.

It's looking good for Sunday but in between, rain for tomorrow.

Hopefully it will ease off from time to time but that is certainly the

case through Saturday evening and Saturday night. The rain starts to

slowly push its way northwards. A lot of potential for some very, very

heavy thundery downpours. Difficult travelling conditions, risk of flash

flooding and disruption as a result. The remnants across Scotland

to start the day on Sunday. Heavy showers developing across western

part of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The further east you are,

the better chance of a warmer day. The places which optically worked

tomorrow should be dry and warm on Sunday. 23-24 - 25 degrees in the

sunnier spots through the afternoon so still feeling like summer. Next

week, low-pressure nearby, a bit of a breeze blowing through, as well
