summary. Now the national outlook. Good evening. There is rain in the

forecast overnight, but even so, September is heading to be one of

the driest on record for many of us. Today's weather front gave a lot of

cloud rather than rain. But where we have the sunshine, it has been warm.

turn remarkably cooler. These are our first autumnal gales blowing in

across Scotland and Northern Ireland with gusty winds. Severe gales

possibly for Shetland. Those hold the temperature up, though. Some

misty, drizzly conditions in the South mean a much milder night for

many of us. We have the golf taking place tomorrow in Perthshire at

Gleneagles, so hopefully that whether system will have blown

through by the time we tee off tomorrow morning. -- weather system.

The winds could be strong and gusty with just the outside chance of a

shower. In the South, misty and low cloud travelling across with even

the Salisbury plain and simple, but eventually the weather system is

blown away and the cloud comes and goes across the southern half of the

country, and given we have the weather front close by, we have the

risk of a shower. But still dry and warm weather. There should be more

sunshine further north. Not wall-to-wall but a pleasant day

across North Wales, Northern Ireland, northern England and the

bulk of Scotland. We have the strong and gusty winds with hefty showers

in the Highlands and Islands. A grass frost is likely across central

areas. Two or three in the suburbs. A concern for fog in the South,

because though it is largely dry with sunshine, we could have

stubborn fog in the morning, particularly on Saturday. At this

time of year the sun does not have enough strength to clear that. A

slow start with the weather front close by with a weak weather front

starting to meander in from the West. But for many, dry weather The

Saturday. On Sunday, the potential for warmth in the
