Good evening. It's farewell fair weather September. A very warm

month. Incredibly dry. Why so? All to do with the jet stream. Mostly to

the north and the fast-moving ribbon of the air has been searing the

pressures from the UK. If you are after more boisterous autumn

whether, it need it to drive southwards and that's what will be

happening. No-pressure conditions. -- low-pressure conditions. Not

there just yet. There will be some damp weather to end September.

Fronts returning to the far north-west of Scotland and to

Northern Ireland too. In between, it may turn misty and murky. It will be

a mild night, with temperatures in towns and cities in the teens. Not a

cold start to Wednesday. A rather drab one. One or two mist and fog

patches around. They will clear Across Scotland and Northern

Ireland, after a grey start, the afternoon looks promising in terms

of sun. Much more cloud tomorrow, across England and Wales compared to

today. Few showers, but sunshine coming through, which may well lift

temperatures again. In the north, fresher feel, despite the sunshine.

Cold start across nornern Britain on Thursday -- northern Britain on

Thursday, but cloud further south. Early mist and fog, but for most

places Thursday is dry and again we could reach 20. Things are starting

to change. A weather front is approaching and this will really mix

it up. As it approaches the isobars are punching together and the winds

will be lively. A wet and windy spell. The first of the season for

Scotland and Northern Ireland on Friday. Pushing maybe into northern

England later on. The bulk of England and Wales on Friday it is

dry and bright and we could get over 20, but Friday may be last time we

see that for a while, because the front maintains the activity. Some

bright colours there. Heavy rain, as it drifts across England and Wales.

It's a lively front and it's a cold front. Behind it cold air is pushing

in. The warmth from September, the yellow, draining away as we go into

the weekend. It is going to feel colder. Temperatures will be around

average, but it will feel colder because of the strength of the wind
