Hello, welcome. Tonight, thd college is getting money for new buhldings, | :00:00. | :00:12.
five years after one of the biggest funding scandals of recent times. | :00:13. | :00:17.
This UKIP Parliament candid`te is in court on fraud charges. | :00:18. | :00:23.
Victims of the tidal surge can get flood defence money, but how easy is | :00:24. | :00:26.
it to apply? Remember this? | :00:27. | :00:33.
One of the iconic bikes, we meet the man who designed it and othdr 7 s | :00:34. | :00:35.
classics. First tonight, millions of pounds to | :00:36. | :00:47.
bring our colleges up to scratch. It comes five years after the last | :00:48. | :00:49.
Government suddenly pulled the plug on a building programme which would | :00:50. | :00:55.
have cost billions. It was one of the worst funding scandals hn recent | :00:56. | :00:59.
years. In 2009, the Learning and Skills Council suddenly rendged on a | :01:00. | :01:02.
deal to provide hundreds of millions of pounds to Further Educathon | :01:03. | :01:05.
colleges. It left campuses looking like building sites and thehr | :01:06. | :01:08.
principals facing big bills in penalty clauses. Five years on, Look | :01:09. | :01:13.
East has established that expansion plans are back on. But this time, | :01:14. | :01:20.
there's much less cash on the table. It was before the days of atsterity, | :01:21. | :01:24.
before the money ran out. M`ny of our Further Education colleges were | :01:25. | :01:28.
encouraged to think big, and so they did. None bigger than City College | :01:29. | :01:32.
Norwich. This was the vision of its future. A ?200 million | :01:33. | :01:35.
state`of`the`art campus to replace the existing 1950s building. And, | :01:36. | :01:41.
virtual reality was about as close as the College of West Anglha came | :01:42. | :01:44.
to creating bold new campusds at Kings Lynn and March. High hopes | :01:45. | :01:48.
dashed when the then`Learning and Skills Council pulled the plug. It | :01:49. | :01:53.
imposed a funding freeze dud to a shortfall of nearly ?6 billhon. A | :01:54. | :01:59.
committee of MPs said it was a case of catastrophic mismanagement. | :02:00. | :02:03.
Colchester Institute, anothdr of our colleges that found itself hn a | :02:04. | :02:06.
hole, facing debts of ?18 mhllion pounds. Today, better news `bout its | :02:07. | :02:09.
stalled building programme. On paper, it looked exciting, on the | :02:10. | :02:22.
ground, excruciating. One p`rt of the revamp was completed, other | :02:23. | :02:28.
areas had been cleared, ready for redevelopment, but then, thd plug | :02:29. | :02:35.
was pulled. We have been trdated terribly, we are angry and | :02:36. | :02:39.
disappointed, we thought th`t in two years we would be working in a new | :02:40. | :02:44.
campus, it was going to be dxciting, and the rug has been pulled from | :02:45. | :02:48.
beneath our feet. It is tot`l disbelief, we were told to stop the | :02:49. | :02:57.
building, that is what we dhd, so they just made good. It lumbered | :02:58. | :03:02.
them with debt. ?18 million. It forced them to make do with | :03:03. | :03:08.
structures that were either tatty or temporarily, like this block of 90 | :03:09. | :03:11.
portable buildings. But now, and optimistic mood, the skills funding | :03:12. | :03:16.
agency is giving ?7 million to develop a new teaching block. The | :03:17. | :03:21.
institute is putting up ?2.4 million. With the cutbacks to | :03:22. | :03:27.
education, it has been a huge challenge, we have had to shape `` | :03:28. | :03:33.
reshape our overheads, but we can see light at the end of the tunnel, | :03:34. | :03:36.
and this is really good news for our learners. I did not know it was 7 | :03:37. | :03:43.
million, it is a big number. It is courtesy the government is | :03:44. | :03:49.
interested in vocational cotrses. The plans look amazing, I hope they | :03:50. | :03:53.
go all the way through, I hope they do not pull out of this one. We have | :03:54. | :03:59.
kept the show on the road, we have used temporary buildings, wd will be | :04:00. | :04:03.
pleased to sing the back of them, city have the modern facilities will | :04:04. | :04:07.
be wonderful. They see it as a symbolic moment, the true shgn of | :04:08. | :04:11.
their recovery. The work should be complete by September next xear | :04:12. | :04:14.
So, what's happened at some of the other colleges with high hopes five | :04:15. | :04:17.
years ago? What about those demolition plans at City College, | :04:18. | :04:25.
Norwich? The super campus talked abott six | :04:26. | :04:29.
years ago was supposed to rdplace the ageing 1950s doping. Another | :04:30. | :04:37.
Thai development `` and othdr tired development which had built up | :04:38. | :04:45.
around it. The roof is being replaced, along with no less than | :04:46. | :04:50.
368 Windows. Since the coll`pse of the funding stream, the College has | :04:51. | :04:53.
received ?9 million for improvements. The college, proud of | :04:54. | :05:01.
its new creative arts buildhng and a planned new centre for studdnts with | :05:02. | :05:08.
learning disabilities. We are delivering what could have been we | :05:09. | :05:11.
put so much time and effort into what the whole campus readable and | :05:12. | :05:15.
would have looked like, we `re using lots of that now. The creathve arts | :05:16. | :05:20.
building is not in the same place or the same size, but that function and | :05:21. | :05:30.
athletic, we are now putting it into action. Yes, what could havd been, | :05:31. | :05:34.
but it is a pretty good second. As for other colleges, West Suffolk | :05:35. | :05:38.
at Bury St Edmunds says a ndw ? million building opened to students | :05:39. | :05:41.
last September, another has had a ?3 million refurbishment. Fundhng has | :05:42. | :05:44.
come from its own funds and bank borrowing. The College of Wdst | :05:45. | :05:47.
Anglia has completed a ?13 lillion refurbishment of a tower block at | :05:48. | :05:51.
Kings Lynn, and is planning a new ?6.5 million campus building. The | :05:52. | :05:54.
Norfolk campus of Easton and Otley College received ?30 million from | :05:55. | :05:57.
the Learning and Skills Council before it pulled the financhal plug. | :05:58. | :06:03.
It now has a new ?1.5 million animal centre and other improvements it has | :06:04. | :06:10.
funded itself. The general picture is that our colleges are finding | :06:11. | :06:13.
ways of making improvements, but most bear little resemblancd to the | :06:14. | :06:16.
grandiose plans trumpeted fhve or six years ago. | :06:17. | :06:22.
UKIP's Parliamentary candid`te for Great Yarmouth has appeared in court | :06:23. | :06:26.
today after being charged whth electoral fraud. Matthew Smhth was | :06:27. | :06:30.
up before Norwich magistratds, accused of falsifying nomin`tion | :06:31. | :06:32.
forms during last year's local elections. He denies any wrongdoing. | :06:33. | :06:45.
He was once the candidate to be Norfolk's Police and Crime | :06:46. | :06:48.
Commissioner. Today, he arrhved at court, accused of electoral fraud. | :06:49. | :06:56.
He was in the dock for five minutes. He faces six chargds of | :06:57. | :07:00.
supplying electoral nominathon papers to a returning officdr, | :07:01. | :07:04.
knowing it to contain a forged signature. We were told there were | :07:05. | :07:09.
allegedly 44 false signaturds. He also faces three counts of producing | :07:10. | :07:15.
forged nomination papers. The accusations arose after he was | :07:16. | :07:19.
elected the county councillor for Gorleston last year. He is `ccused | :07:20. | :07:24.
of returning fortune and papers for other candidates will stop ``. He | :07:25. | :07:34.
was UKIP's party agent in Great Yarmouth, he has since been | :07:35. | :07:39.
suspended from the party. Two other men also faced charges in connection | :07:40. | :07:45.
with the election. Each facd a charge of one count of supplying a | :07:46. | :07:50.
nomination paper to a returning officer knowing it to contahn a | :07:51. | :07:55.
forged signature. Matthew Slith has previously denied all the charges. | :07:56. | :07:58.
Today, none of the defendants entered a plea. All three whll | :07:59. | :08:03.
appear at crown court on April 2. New grants to allow people to make | :08:04. | :08:06.
their homes and businesses flood proof came into force this week It | :08:07. | :08:11.
follows the tidal surge in December. If you were affected, you c`n claim | :08:12. | :08:16.
up to ?5,000 for each property. But some people say the rules are too | :08:17. | :08:20.
complicated. Among the affected areas, Lowestoft. | :08:21. | :08:28.
It is a night hundreds of homes and businesses will not forget, the | :08:29. | :08:35.
night when the sea came in. For months on from the tidal surge, the | :08:36. | :08:40.
nightmare continues for this family. The water was up to three fdet deep. | :08:41. | :08:45.
They are still nowhere near moving back in. The offer of a grant to | :08:46. | :08:49.
make their home more resilidnt to flooding has left them baffled. | :08:50. | :08:57.
There are so many holes in houses, how is that going to be possible? I | :08:58. | :09:04.
do not see it, I do not unddrstand. ?5,000, is that enough? I al not | :09:05. | :09:09.
sure, really. I do not know how far that is going to go. The district | :09:10. | :09:13.
council has written to all homes and businesses that were flooded. It is | :09:14. | :09:17.
offering to underwrite the cost of flood prevention work, so nobody | :09:18. | :09:24.
will have to pay a penny. Wd believe that we should be stepping tp and | :09:25. | :09:29.
helping local residents and businesses to ensure that they are | :09:30. | :09:33.
not exposed to this risk. Wd are happy to underwrite the mondy in the | :09:34. | :09:38.
short term until the funding comes through from central governlent and | :09:39. | :09:43.
help them with the paperwork will stop this mobility scooter supplier | :09:44. | :09:46.
lost ?20,000 of stock in thd tidal surge. Losses it hopes it c`n now | :09:47. | :09:53.
prevent in the future. We c`n have a floodgate for the front door, we | :09:54. | :09:59.
have to at the rear access doors, and something for the epics as well. | :10:00. | :10:07.
District councils are adminhstering the grant scheme. Each has different | :10:08. | :10:08.
deadlines. In Waveney, people who deadlines. In Waveney, people who | :10:09. | :10:13.
want the council to do it for them have just a fortnight in whhch to | :10:14. | :10:17.
apply. Back now to a story we covered on | :10:18. | :10:21.
last night's programme. Potholes. The Government announced in the | :10:22. | :10:24.
Budget that it was giving councils extra money to help deal with the | :10:25. | :10:27.
problem. But a survey by ond industry group claimed it would take | :10:28. | :10:31.
years to clear the backlog. We asked what it was like where you live | :10:32. | :10:37.
Yes, this story's really got you going. Lots of you have emahled us | :10:38. | :10:43.
about the state of the roads near you. There seems to be a big problem | :10:44. | :10:48.
in parts of Chelmsford. Two people got in touch singling out Trent | :10:49. | :10:52.
Road. Denise Cox says the potholes outside the Lawford Mead Junior | :10:53. | :10:55.
School, are the worst I've dver seen. She says, you can't drive down | :10:56. | :11:00.
there without hitting them. And Martin Drury agrees, saying they're | :11:01. | :11:03.
particularly dangerous. He `sks is the council ever going to do | :11:04. | :11:07.
anything about this? Well, we called Essex Highways about Trent Road and | :11:08. | :11:10.
they say they're aware of the concerns, but it doesn't repuire | :11:11. | :11:16.
immediate repair. However, loney will be put aside to improvd it over | :11:17. | :11:21.
the next year. Over in Suffolk, Kate Elmer from Mendlesham is a bit | :11:22. | :11:24.
baffled. She's sent us thesd pictures of the pavements that were | :11:25. | :11:27.
resurfaced, despite not havhng anything wrong with them! She says, | :11:28. | :11:32.
I'm not convinced this is the best use of resources, the Highw`ys team | :11:33. | :11:36.
would be better used on the roads, not our paths. Julie Wallacd from | :11:37. | :11:40.
Wickford in Essex has a simhlar problem. | :11:41. | :11:44.
Meanwhile, Angela Mason frol Holt in Norfolk says, it's not just cars | :11:45. | :11:49.
that are affected. Consider the damage done to cyclists, potholes | :11:50. | :11:52.
can cause them to fall off their bikes. And take a look at this. | :11:53. | :11:55.
Teresa Evans Mortimer from Feering in Essex calls it the mother of all | :11:56. | :11:59.
potholes. She says it measures six foot by three foot, and is `t least | :12:00. | :12:03.
six inches deep! Well, looks like this is going to be a big t`lking | :12:04. | :12:11.
point for some time. Thank xou for all your emails. | :12:12. | :12:17.
Essex Police are going back to the parkland tonight where a father of | :12:18. | :12:20.
five was stabbed to death. Jim Attfield, who suffered severe brain | :12:21. | :12:24.
damage in a car accident fotr years ago, was found dead on Saturday in | :12:25. | :12:29.
Colchester. He had more than 10 knife wounds. The police will be in | :12:30. | :12:33.
the park overnight. They have also been given more time to question a | :12:34. | :12:36.
man in connection with the investigation. So far, therd has | :12:37. | :12:41.
been no clear motive for thd murder. Police aren't sure whether they re | :12:42. | :12:46.
searching for a killer or khllers. Inquests into the deaths of two men | :12:47. | :12:49.
who were killed when their light aircraft crashed in a field near | :12:50. | :12:52.
Chelmsford last weekend havd been opened and adjourned. Simon | :12:53. | :12:55.
Chamberlain and the pilot, @ndrew Sully, had just taken off from North | :12:56. | :12:57.
Weald. Still to come, a row over the price | :12:58. | :13:16.
of season tickets at Ipswich Town. Plus, he designed the 70s, the man | :13:17. | :13:20.
behind the chopper bike and the Robin Reliant. | :13:21. | :13:25.
What is he up to now? Most of us take things like this for | :13:26. | :13:29.
granted. If we've got a question, we switch them on, read the words and | :13:30. | :13:33.
find the answer. Of course, if you can't see the screen, you c`n't do | :13:34. | :13:37.
it. Which is where something called the World of Words comes in. | :13:38. | :13:42.
The idea, making sure that blind and visually`impaired children can learn | :13:43. | :13:46.
at the same speed as everyone else. Modern technology is making it | :13:47. | :13:50.
easier than ever. But it coles at a price. | :13:51. | :14:03.
Edward is 23. This technology did not exist when he was at school For | :14:04. | :14:09.
later generations, learning has become easier. Specialist computers, | :14:10. | :14:15.
iPhones and iPods are becomhng the norm. It was not always likd that. | :14:16. | :14:22.
You have to read everything slowly, so you do not misunderstand. When I | :14:23. | :14:27.
got my computer, I was eight, it had speech software on it, so I could | :14:28. | :14:33.
listen a lot quicker than I could read. A document about Forster | :14:34. | :14:42.
source! These children have started using the technology early. It is | :14:43. | :14:47.
key to improving their educ`tion. 400 children and young people are | :14:48. | :14:51.
visually impaired in Norfolk. At the end of primary school, they all meet | :14:52. | :14:56.
the expected level of progrdss in writing, but only 55% hit the target | :14:57. | :15:02.
in reading. It is believed the new technology will raise this. The good | :15:03. | :15:08.
thing is you are not passivd, so information is not being prdpared | :15:09. | :15:12.
for you, you can have it imlediately in front of you, they can t`ke | :15:13. | :15:18.
photographs, Nick thinks bigger it gives you the opportunity to do | :15:19. | :15:22.
everything that your peer group to immediately. Not only is thhs | :15:23. | :15:29.
equipment smaller and easier to use, it is also a lot more affordable. | :15:30. | :15:34.
This keyboard costs ?6,000, but five years ago, it was double th`t. These | :15:35. | :15:40.
children are lucky, they ard in schools that now use the eqtipment. | :15:41. | :15:45.
I could not type as fast, so it put me behind everyone. Now, because | :15:46. | :15:51.
they are giving me bigger print books, as well as a bigger print | :15:52. | :15:56.
computer, I am starting to catch up on my reading. For those th`t can | :15:57. | :16:01.
afford it, the chance of success at school has improved, and with the | :16:02. | :16:05.
price of technology falling, it should expand even further. | :16:06. | :16:10.
Another busy weekend of sport. Here's Phil with the latest in the | :16:11. | :16:13.
rugby, cricket and football. Thanks, we'll start with last | :16:14. | :16:15.
night's rugby, a big win for Northampton Saints put them through | :16:16. | :16:20.
to the semi`finals of the Challenge Cup. The Saints used their driving | :16:21. | :16:23.
maul to good effect, scoring three tries from them. Nutley with this | :16:24. | :16:27.
one. Ben Foden also touched down, topping off a 28`14 win. Thdy'll | :16:28. | :16:30.
face either Stade Francais or Harlequins, who play tonight. | :16:31. | :16:35.
In football, Ipswich Town h`ve told fans there was a printing error when | :16:36. | :16:39.
sending out their season`ticket renewal forms. Some fans max pay an | :16:40. | :16:44.
extra ?10 a month towards the club's academy without realising. | :16:45. | :16:47.
Direct`debit customers need to opt out if they don't want to p`y the | :16:48. | :16:56.
extra. I can afford a ticket, but some | :16:57. | :17:00.
people are struggling, and ht is a big decision to take the ticket | :17:01. | :17:06.
Now, they are being asked to pay ?120 extra, some are worried about | :17:07. | :17:10.
getting overdrawn. The good news is the club are informing us that we | :17:11. | :17:14.
can opt out. There's still time to opt ott of the | :17:15. | :17:17.
scheme if you're affected. Xou can do so before 17th April. Details are | :17:18. | :17:21.
on the Ipswich Town website. Now, with a nod to Grand National | :17:22. | :17:24.
weekend, here's a look at the runners and riders in the r`ce for | :17:25. | :17:27.
promotion and relegation. Norwich City welcome West Brom to C`rrow | :17:28. | :17:31.
Road tomorrow. The home gamds have been key for the Canaries this | :17:32. | :17:34.
season. But they're still in danger of the drop. Win tomorrow and | :17:35. | :17:43.
they'll gallop up the leagud table. We are not underestimating how big a | :17:44. | :17:49.
game it is. These are the ones where players need to stand up and be | :17:50. | :17:52.
counted, we have to be strong and aggressive and work to conthnue the | :17:53. | :17:59.
home form that we have got. There is no doubt, it is a big game. | :18:00. | :18:02.
Next down the track is Ipswhch, trying to make the final six in the | :18:03. | :18:05.
Championship. They're just two points off at the moment. Blackburn | :18:06. | :18:09.
away for them tomorrow. Posh are odds on for a play`off spot in | :18:10. | :18:12.
League One. MK Dons are still an outside chance. While Colchdster and | :18:13. | :18:16.
Stevenage need a good run to get themselves out of trouble. Big | :18:17. | :18:18.
six`pointers for both clubs against Tranmere and Shrewsbury. And in | :18:19. | :18:22.
League Two, Southend are off to Cheltenham, hoping to stay hn the | :18:23. | :18:25.
top six. And for Northampton, plenty of obstacles in their way. But | :18:26. | :18:30.
victory at Accrington could move them out of the bottom two. | :18:31. | :18:33.
You'd probably have made a few quid if you'd have bet on Northants | :18:34. | :18:37.
cricketers last year. Here they are celebrating the double last season. | :18:38. | :18:39.
They surprised everyone by claiming the T20 Cup and winning prolotion to | :18:40. | :18:42.
Division One of the County Championship. For a bit of ` change, | :18:43. | :18:47.
they were in the town's market square today, along with thd traders | :18:48. | :18:50.
and cameras, on the eve of the new season. | :18:51. | :18:57.
Nutrition is a huge part of sport these days, but there is always room | :18:58. | :19:02.
for a fry up. Northampton cricketers ahead of a long and demanding | :19:03. | :19:06.
season. First, the annual photo shoot for the champions. Wh`t is the | :19:07. | :19:13.
strength of the team? One of the strengths last year, we do not have | :19:14. | :19:17.
to many egos floating around, we just have a hard`working group, last | :19:18. | :19:22.
year we made a concerted effort to improve in every department. The | :19:23. | :19:27.
last time they were in the town centre, they were on the top of a | :19:28. | :19:32.
bus, winners of the T20 Cup, and celebrating promotion, a defining | :19:33. | :19:36.
moment for the one`day capt`in. Serious injury can strike, he will | :19:37. | :19:41.
not play this summer after rupturing his Achilles tendon on a prd`season | :19:42. | :19:47.
tour of Barbados. Still verx raw, still a lot of emotions in ly head. | :19:48. | :19:52.
I am determined to get back stronger and fitter. It will give me a | :19:53. | :19:56.
different perspective, and ` lot of people say if they have had time out | :19:57. | :20:00.
or done some work experiencd elsewhere, they come back whth a | :20:01. | :20:05.
fresh view on things. I am `lready chomping at the bit to get back As | :20:06. | :20:10.
he recovers, he plans to help out behind the scenes at a club which | :20:11. | :20:13.
continues to thrive on and off the pitch. The ground is being | :20:14. | :20:17.
redeveloped, and membership is up 40%. We want to be in divishon one, | :20:18. | :20:24.
we are investing heavily in our ground, we have a fantastic | :20:25. | :20:27.
relationship with the local council, assisting us in terms of | :20:28. | :20:33.
capital to make sure our facilities are improved, and that is otr plan, | :20:34. | :20:38.
we want to be competitive. They surprised many people with their | :20:39. | :20:42.
exploits, but they have not made in division one in ten years. The | :20:43. | :20:46.
bookies have them as favourhtes to be relegated. Hopefully, we can | :20:47. | :20:52.
prove a key people wrong. Wd are looking forward to getting some | :20:53. | :20:57.
points on the board. Have you told them there be to do the job? Yes, | :20:58. | :21:02.
they need to stay up there, I have never played up there, so it will be | :21:03. | :21:07.
amazing for me to try and stake a claim to prove that I can do it | :21:08. | :21:12.
Everybody will be raring to go when the new season starts, even David | :21:13. | :21:17.
Whalley. They have raised their own bar, fast forward to a week on | :21:18. | :21:19.
Sunday against Durham, they promise to be ready. | :21:20. | :21:23.
You can follow all the sport on the BBC website. And don't forgdt, as | :21:24. | :21:30.
well as the Bahrain Grand Prix, it's the Boat Race on Sunday. Good luck | :21:31. | :21:34.
to Cambridge. Time to meet a true design guru now. | :21:35. | :21:42.
He's called Tom Karen, he lhves in Cambridge, and he's the man who | :21:43. | :21:44.
invented the Chopper bike and designed the Robin Reliant. Because | :21:45. | :21:51.
of that, they call him the lan who designed the 70s. But at thd age of | :21:52. | :21:55.
88, he's still coming up with new ideas. | :21:56. | :22:04.
I am proud of what we did, H love the chopper. It is one of mx best | :22:05. | :22:11.
designs, I love it. The marble run, the member it? Toys, cars, `nd that | :22:12. | :22:19.
bike. Designs that defined ` decade, sold all over the world, 70s icons, | :22:20. | :22:26.
dreamt up in this part of the world. I needed to compete with an American | :22:27. | :22:35.
bike, which had curvaceous tubes. Whatever we did would have ` big | :22:36. | :22:38.
wheel and a small wheel, because the big wheel shows where the power | :22:39. | :22:44.
comes from, like the dragstdrs, big tyres are different, and we did some | :22:45. | :22:50.
make`believe like that, the springs on the saddle. They do not work The | :22:51. | :22:56.
mudguards are so far off thd wheels, it looks as though the wheels might | :22:57. | :23:03.
be sprung. The combination of that made it the success it was. One | :23:04. | :23:08.
vehicle I liked was this ond. A great trendsetter. We went on doing | :23:09. | :23:18.
exciting things after the 70s. I keep dreaming of the future, rather | :23:19. | :23:24.
than the past. With sketchbooks more than `` covering more than 40 years | :23:25. | :23:28.
work, they became reality. The reliant robin, the bike, and now | :23:29. | :23:32.
this, his vision of the futtre. A this, his vision of the futtre. A | :23:33. | :23:38.
floating city. I think it h`s got a real chance. It makes so much sense. | :23:39. | :23:46.
Technically, it is not that big a challenge. You could use | :23:47. | :23:53.
shipbuilding techniques to lake it out of sections of steel, then you | :23:54. | :23:59.
build a superstructure on top of it. Bearing in mind you do not have to | :24:00. | :24:04.
pay for the ground that it hs built on until they find their wax of | :24:05. | :24:09.
charging for building on water, that could save a lot of money. They say | :24:10. | :24:17.
he designed the 70s. And 88`year`old looking to shape the future. | :24:18. | :24:25.
Did you have a chopper? By brother did. I am in awe, fascinating. | :24:26. | :24:35.
Across the eastern half of the region, it was cloudy. Thesd | :24:36. | :24:43.
pictures were taken in Suffolk. It stayed quite cloudy through the day. | :24:44. | :24:48.
Across the western half, pl`ces like Bedford had quite a lot of sunshine. | :24:49. | :24:54.
The satellite image shows the extent of the cloud, but the weekend | :24:55. | :24:58.
forecast will be windy. Clotdy at times. Not a great deal of rain The | :24:59. | :25:06.
eastern half did not do so well There have been some breaks, so | :25:07. | :25:09.
something a bit brighter for most of us later. Clear spells overnight. It | :25:10. | :25:17.
should stay mainly dry. There will be some colder temperatures than we | :25:18. | :25:23.
have had recently. The wind still coming from the south. This is the | :25:24. | :25:30.
pressure pattern for tomorrow. A week whether from moving in from the | :25:31. | :25:35.
west, it will turn cloudy. Ht will bring patchy rain, but not ` great | :25:36. | :25:40.
deal. It will be windy, which will be a feature through the wedkend. It | :25:41. | :25:44.
will be a noticeable trees. We kick off tomorrow with quite a long spell | :25:45. | :25:49.
of hazy sunshine across the eastern half of the region the West, `` the | :25:50. | :25:59.
eastern half of the region. It will not be called tomorrow. Depdnding on | :26:00. | :26:04.
where the cloud lingers, it might stay in little colder. It is looking | :26:05. | :26:11.
cloudier for the afternoon, with the risk of one or two spots of light | :26:12. | :26:17.
rain or drizzle. Quite an unsettled picture for the start of next week. | :26:18. | :26:21.
This is a weather front comhng in for Sunday, low pressure for Monday, | :26:22. | :26:27.
so expect some rain. Sunday is the wetter of the two days. Outbreaks of | :26:28. | :26:32.
rain through Sunday morning. It will improve through the day, so there | :26:33. | :26:36.
could be something brighter later. Still quite windy for Sundax. For | :26:37. | :26:44.
Monday, outbreaks of rain around, they could be on the heavy side It | :26:45. | :26:48.
should clear a way later on. We start next week with quite ` lot of | :26:49. | :26:53.
cloud, though it looks like the middle of the week is looking more | :26:54. | :26:57.
settled, with more sunshine, and a fairly cold night on Tuesdax. | :26:58. | :27:02.
That is it, thank you for your company. Have a good time this | :27:03. | :27:07.
weekend, we will see you on Monday. Good night. | :27:08. | :27:11. |
