Hello and welcome to Look E`st. In the programme tonight.. | :00:00. | :00:11.
The 83`year`old stranded in an Abu Dhabi hospital, because his insurers | :00:12. | :00:14.
won't pay for him to come home. New sea defences costing ?5 million | :00:15. | :00:17.
are approved despite local opposition. | :00:18. | :00:23.
Well shod. How this shoemakdr can't make them fast enough for the | :00:24. | :00:25.
booming Asian market. And the Princess Royal pays a visit | :00:26. | :00:29.
to the Norfolk Broads and hops on board one of the smartest boats in | :00:30. | :00:31.
the fleet. First tonight, the great gr`ndfather | :00:32. | :00:48.
from Essex stranded in a hospital in the Middle East. Tonight, | :00:49. | :00:53.
83`year`old Gordon Griffiths is on a ventilator in hospital in Abu Dhabi. | :00:54. | :00:58.
And every day, the bill keeps going up. It's already more than ?20, 00. | :00:59. | :01:05.
?20,000 his family say they cannot afford to pay. When Mr Griffiths | :01:06. | :01:11.
left Saffron Walden in Febrtary his daughter said she would buy his | :01:12. | :01:14.
health insurance for him in the Middle East. But now, that hnsurance | :01:15. | :01:19.
company is refusing to pay out. 83`year`old Gordon Griffiths has | :01:20. | :01:21.
visited his daughter Liz in Abu Dhabi for the past 20 years. But | :01:22. | :01:26.
now, he is stranded there after being admitted to hospital with | :01:27. | :01:29.
chronic lung disease in February. He is too ill to fly home. His other | :01:30. | :01:35.
daughter, Isa, who travelled out with him, is now back home hn | :01:36. | :01:39.
Cambridge. The family did bty travel insurance for ?6.50 when thdy | :01:40. | :01:44.
arrived in Abu Dhabi. But hhs daughters say they have been told | :01:45. | :01:47.
the insurers will not pay for ongoing tear on his flight home | :01:48. | :01:51.
because the company says it is a pre`existing condition. `` ongoing | :01:52. | :01:55.
care or his flight home. Yot had to go home, leave your dad in hospital. | :01:56. | :01:59.
What was that like? Devastating I hated that. I really hated ht. And | :02:00. | :02:04.
they were asking if any famhly, siblings, in the UK had mondy that | :02:05. | :02:08.
could be sent over for medical costs. We were saying no. There is | :02:09. | :02:12.
no one with that amount of loney in our family. Isa has been getting | :02:13. | :02:17.
regular updates on her fathdr's condition from her sister in Abu | :02:18. | :02:28.
Dhabi. Look East has spoken to Liz and asked if paying just ?6.50 in | :02:29. | :02:32.
Abu Dhabi for insurance for a 83`year`old asthmatic smoker raised | :02:33. | :02:35.
any concerns at the time. When he went into hospital, we didn't | :02:36. | :02:39.
realise that he was going to go and stay in there all this time. We | :02:40. | :02:42.
thought he had a chest infection, bronchitis or something, whhch he | :02:43. | :02:45.
has had before. We also askdd why her father had not bought insurance | :02:46. | :02:49.
in the UK. Maybe he was a lhttle bit complacent and thought that he would | :02:50. | :02:53.
be OK. He had got through everything before and he could manage. The | :02:54. | :02:58.
insurance the family bought was through one of Abu Dhabi's biggest | :02:59. | :03:04.
and most respected health insurers. Gordon's children say he had had a | :03:05. | :03:07.
chest infection, but had bedn cleared by a doctor to fly out | :03:08. | :03:11.
there. He felt unwell when he arrived. The family are now faced | :03:12. | :03:18.
with a ?23,000 health bill. And as Gordon needs oxygen, a medical | :03:19. | :03:21.
flight home would cost 40,000. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office says | :03:22. | :03:24.
it is aware of the situation and that it cannot pay any medical | :03:25. | :03:33.
bills. It advises travellers to get comprehensive insurance, declare any | :03:34. | :03:35.
pre`existing medical condithons and check exactly what is coverdd. | :03:36. | :03:41.
Earlier this afternoon, I spoke to Andrew Woolgar from the Association | :03:42. | :03:44.
of British Insurers about the lessons we could all learn from this | :03:45. | :03:49.
case. This underlines the nded for consumers to buy appropriatd travel | :03:50. | :03:55.
insurance before travelling. And if you are buying through a UK insurer, | :03:56. | :03:59.
there are a number of safegtards in place to make sure the insurer deals | :04:00. | :04:03.
with that claim responsibly. And if the consumer chooses to makd a | :04:04. | :04:05.
complaint later, there are mechanisms in place. That whll be | :04:06. | :04:15.
dealt with. So if you fail to declare either your age or that you | :04:16. | :04:19.
are a smoker to an insurancd company in this country before travdlling, | :04:20. | :04:22.
would that mean they would not pay out? First of all, travel insurers | :04:23. | :04:27.
in the UK are not looking to avoid valid claims. At the start of the | :04:28. | :04:33.
sales process, they will ask clear questions about your medical | :04:34. | :04:36.
history. Any treatment that is ongoing. Any medication you take. | :04:37. | :04:42.
And if you answer those questions fully and honestly, you shotld not | :04:43. | :04:46.
need to worry about a claim being declined. It is unlikely th`t | :04:47. | :04:49.
insurers in the UK will ask about aspects of your lifestyle, such as | :04:50. | :04:54.
whether you are a smoker. Btt if you are in any doubt about questions | :04:55. | :04:57.
asked, it is always best to check with your insurer before buxing the | :04:58. | :05:02.
policy. Would you consider ht reasonable that somebody in his 80s | :05:03. | :05:06.
would get health insurance cover in the Middle East for ?6.50? H am not | :05:07. | :05:13.
going to be able to comment on the exact price. But clearly, the price | :05:14. | :05:19.
of travel insurance is determined by the risk that is posed by that | :05:20. | :05:24.
individual. That means that older consumers will often pay a price | :05:25. | :05:30.
that is slightly higher. Th`t is because they are more likelx to have | :05:31. | :05:33.
a number of pre`existing medical conditions. And also potenthally a | :05:34. | :05:40.
number of undiagnosed conditions. But cover is available to travellers | :05:41. | :05:43.
of every age, no matter what destination they are travelling to. | :05:44. | :05:49.
We would encourage consumers to shop around, consider using spechalist | :05:50. | :05:51.
brokers to think what would meet their needs. Thank you very much. | :05:52. | :05:57.
Thanks. This weekend is the official start | :05:58. | :06:01.
of the holiday season. And ` number of businesses on the North Norfolk | :06:02. | :06:04.
coast still haven't re`opendd after the tidal surge four months ago Our | :06:05. | :06:08.
chief reporter has spent thd day at Wells`Next the Sea and is there now. | :06:09. | :06:16.
This has a population of 2700, but in high summer it gets as m`ny as | :06:17. | :06:22.
20,001 single day. This season started pretty well, but sole | :06:23. | :06:28.
businesses and me are missing out. Perfect day, and the historhc key | :06:29. | :06:35.
packed with visitors. One b`ck for months and the water is crept up | :06:36. | :06:39.
over sea defences and flooddd a number of businesses. Today, an | :06:40. | :06:45.
amusement arcade is not abld to welcome visitors. Chris Brown lost | :06:46. | :06:50.
?180,000 worth of machines `nd is anxious to get up and running again, | :06:51. | :06:54.
but the building is still drying out and major construction work yet to | :06:55. | :07:01.
begin. It is the insurers ghving the contract was the go`ahead. @nd it is | :07:02. | :07:08.
two three weeks before that. Very frustrated. This is having ` major | :07:09. | :07:15.
revamp. The owners hope to open to drinkers very soon. Do you `nd other | :07:16. | :07:19.
businesses feel you have bedn well treated? No, that includes the | :07:20. | :07:25.
insurance companies have bedn very and helpful. And a family btsiness | :07:26. | :07:31.
dating from 1960, the sign hn the window today saying at all. She was | :07:32. | :07:36.
here as the waters flooded hn through the back doors. She is | :07:37. | :07:40.
despairing note as insurers drag their feet, building work not even | :07:41. | :07:46.
starting. This is my livelihood has been since I was 15, working here | :07:47. | :07:52.
since then, and it is the fhrst time I have not been open. The only time | :07:53. | :08:01.
when people ask if I am open every day, and it is that unless there is | :08:02. | :08:07.
a crisis, and this is a crisis. I hope I will be open for Whitsun I | :08:08. | :08:12.
cannot say for definite stop she is also opening that next week the much | :08:13. | :08:16.
delayed building work will finally begin. `` she is also opening. | :08:17. | :08:24.
She gets very tearful when talking about this. People forget that when | :08:25. | :08:28.
a flood happens to a self`elployed person, their income stream dries up | :08:29. | :08:33.
and the bills keep on coming. Behind me, and other businesses celebrating | :08:34. | :08:37.
the arrival of the official reopening of their officers, but for | :08:38. | :08:44.
Kay, and people like her, the celebrations are some way of. `` way | :08:45. | :08:51.
off. Next, the unusual story of ` coastal | :08:52. | :08:54.
community fighting against plans for new flood defences. This afternoon, | :08:55. | :08:57.
Southend Council approved a ?5 million scheme to protect htndreds | :08:58. | :09:00.
of homes and businesses by building a seven foot high sea wall. That's | :09:01. | :09:03.
despite 1500 people in Shoeburyness objecting to the plan. | :09:04. | :09:09.
Behind the beach huts, the common. But locals say it is under threat. | :09:10. | :09:16.
They do not want to lose it. It is fantastic, a beautiful area away | :09:17. | :09:20.
from the hustle and bustle `t Southend and you can have f`mily | :09:21. | :09:23.
entertainment. I remember as a child playing here. But mindful of the | :09:24. | :09:30.
floods of 1953, the council wants to improve defences and plans to build | :09:31. | :09:37.
a two metre high wall stretching for one kilometre behind the be`ch huts. | :09:38. | :09:40.
Campaigners say it will dev`state the common. Unbelievable th`t a | :09:41. | :09:45.
common that has been here shnce 1900, with the beach huts hdre | :09:46. | :09:50.
before my house and any houses within two miles, that that can be | :09:51. | :09:54.
destroyed in such a and chedring fashion. There has been a c`fe on | :09:55. | :09:59.
the common for as long as anyone remember, the owner seeing business | :10:00. | :10:03.
will be hit. And beach hut owners do not want the while either, saying | :10:04. | :10:09.
disabled access will be difficult. `` do not want the whole. I am a | :10:10. | :10:17.
retired war veteran, on 100$ disability, and I feel if the wall | :10:18. | :10:21.
is built, with the best will in the world, it will be extremely | :10:22. | :10:31.
difficult to climb any inclhnes It is an absolutely beautiful spot And | :10:32. | :10:36.
I just do not want it ruined. But even though the recent storl surge | :10:37. | :10:40.
did not breach the existing wall, the council says he defences do need | :10:41. | :10:47.
improvement. There are nearly 2 0 homes, not just people, but Holmes, | :10:48. | :10:52.
with all those people at risk at the moment. `` but homes. If we do not | :10:53. | :10:58.
put that protection in, somd of the events that could happen, Anja | :10:59. | :11:01.
Juniper know when one in 200 year will happen. `` you never know when. | :11:02. | :11:08.
Those people will be at risk. The planning committee came to learn | :11:09. | :11:11.
more about the proposals thhs morning. There was later a protest | :11:12. | :11:16.
outside the Civic Centre, btt the plan was still voted through, the | :11:17. | :11:24.
whole will be built. `` the wall. Detectives have released new | :11:25. | :11:26.
photographs of James Attfield who was murdered in Colchester 01 days | :11:27. | :11:30.
ago. He was found on Saturd`y 2 th March in Castle Park. He had more | :11:31. | :11:33.
than 100 knife wounds. The police want people who may have sedn him in | :11:34. | :11:37.
the area to contact them. Three people appeared in cotrt today | :11:38. | :11:40.
in Ipswich charged with supplying crack cocaine and heroin. Antonio | :11:41. | :11:43.
Bennett and Clare Rivett from Finchley Road and Leonard Flynn from | :11:44. | :11:46.
Tye Road were arrested during police raids yesterday. They face ` total | :11:47. | :11:57.
of 25 charges related to supplying drugs. | :11:58. | :11:59.
A public meeting is being hdld tonight over controversial plans to | :12:00. | :12:02.
merge parts of the police sdrvice in Norfolk with Suffolk. One proposal | :12:03. | :12:05.
is to relocate the Suffolk Police control room to Norfolk Polhce | :12:06. | :12:07.
headquarters. Still to come tonight... Prhncess | :12:08. | :12:17.

And why Seb is preparing to run the marathon dressed as the London | :12:23. | :12:28.
Gherkin. Fetching costume, isn't it? | :12:29. | :12:35.
A strong pound is being blaled for a fall in exports from this rdgion. | :12:36. | :12:39.
The latest figures show thex fell by 4.6% in the last three months of | :12:40. | :12:43.
2013 compared to the same pdriod in 2012. That's the bad news. | :12:44. | :12:48.
The good news is that exports to Asia, the Middle East and South | :12:49. | :12:56.
America are all booming. Sales to Saudi Arabia were up nearly 40% | :12:57. | :13:00.
Sales to Chile were even higher Up 93% to ?63 million. It's spdcialist | :13:01. | :13:03.
products and luxury items they're after. | :13:04. | :13:07.
They do things the traditional way at Cheaney Shoes. And it sedms to be | :13:08. | :13:13.
paying off. Exports at the tpmarket men's footwear firm have dotbled in | :13:14. | :13:17.
the last four years. Good ndws for the 140 staff at Desborough in | :13:18. | :13:22.
Northamptonshire. A pair of shoes made here cost up to ?300. @ price | :13:23. | :13:27.
middle`class consumers in Asia are increasingly willing to pay. Well, | :13:28. | :13:32.
England is still, rather like Italy, renowned for footwear. But | :13:33. | :13:39.
particular the welted type of construction and it's a verx high | :13:40. | :13:42.
quality mark to be made in Dngland. Japan is our number one market. | :13:43. | :13:45.
Continental Europe is also pretty strong. We have also been growing | :13:46. | :13:49.
very well in new markets, stch as China, South Korea, Russia. Asian | :13:50. | :13:52.
demand for luxury goods is ` bright spot in our trade figures. But the | :13:53. | :13:56.
region's overall exports ard down over the past year. The main reason | :13:57. | :14:01.
is falling sales to the countries of the EU, especially France. But | :14:02. | :14:06.
exports to certain places ottside Europe are booming. Regions such as | :14:07. | :14:13.
the Middle East and North Africa. Saudi Arabia was up 39%. Libya 0%. | :14:14. | :14:20.
And Qatar 58%. Middle Eastern sales are fuelling growth at this small | :14:21. | :14:25.
firm near Newmarket. It recdntly won a ?35,000 contract to supplx a horse | :14:26. | :14:30.
feed supplement to Qatar. It helps racing horses to fight muscle | :14:31. | :14:33.
fatigue, so they can exercise and compete for longer. Qatar is very | :14:34. | :14:37.
much a growing market on thd racing scene. But also, many of thd owners | :14:38. | :14:46.
will also have operations in Europe in terms of horses based with | :14:47. | :14:49.
European trainers and around the world. So really, to be involved | :14:50. | :14:53.
with Qatar at this stage, for us, is great. Selling more to small | :14:54. | :14:56.
countries like Qatar is alw`ys welcome. But for overall exports to | :14:57. | :15:01.
start growing again, the recovery in major markets, such as France and | :15:02. | :15:10.
Germany, is essential. Lots of midweek sport to look at. | :15:11. | :15:14.
Here's Phil. Thanks very much. We'll start with | :15:15. | :15:20.
football. Former Norwich City boss, Chris Hughton, has spoken for the | :15:21. | :15:23.
first time since he was sacked on Sunday. In a statement, he said he | :15:24. | :15:27.
was "disappointed" to have lost his job, but "proud to have served | :15:28. | :15:31.
Norwich City". He also said he was confident that he would havd kept | :15:32. | :15:34.
them in the Premier League. He added he would take some time to reflect, | :15:35. | :15:38.
before moving on to his next challenge. | :15:39. | :15:40.
Elsewhere in football, a big win for Ipswich keeps alive their hope of a | :15:41. | :15:43.
Championship play`off spot. Paul Anderson and Daryl Murphy on target | :15:44. | :15:46.
against Huddersfield. The Blues are now two points off the top six. | :15:47. | :15:51.
And in League One, a 2`0 win over Gillingham keeps Posh in sixth | :15:52. | :15:54.
position. But importantly, ht stretched the gap over seventh place | :15:55. | :16:00.
to six points. The Speedway season kicks off for | :16:01. | :16:04.
King's Lynn Stars tonight. @nd for the first time in the Elite League, | :16:05. | :16:07.
16`year`old Robert Lambert revs his engine. He's stepped up two | :16:08. | :16:10.
divisions and many believe he could be a future world champion. | :16:11. | :16:18.
Nought to 60 in three seconds on a bike with no breaks isn't for the | :16:19. | :16:28.
faint`hearted. `` no brakes. Not to mention throwing it sideways, | :16:29. | :16:32.
skidding through every corndr. But at speedway, the Elite Leagte | :16:33. | :16:35.
welcomes its youngest member of Kings Lynn this season. 16`xear`old | :16:36. | :16:39.
Robert Lambert. Despite his lack of years, he knows a thing or two about | :16:40. | :16:43.
two wheels. I've been riding motorbikes since I was thred. Then I | :16:44. | :16:48.
went onto grass track when H was six and slowly progressed from that I | :16:49. | :16:53.
went on to speedway when I was nine. So I have been around speedway since | :16:54. | :16:57.
I was nine years old. Maybe a lot of people from speedway don't know who | :16:58. | :17:01.
I am. But hopefully they soon will. I will put something good ott there | :17:02. | :17:05.
and they will be shocked at what they see. And if he wants any | :17:06. | :17:08.
advice, he doesn't have to go far. The third best rider in the world is | :17:09. | :17:13.
next to him in the pits. It's going to be exciting to see what he can | :17:14. | :17:17.
make out of it. There is a big difference between being a big | :17:18. | :17:21.
talent and to bring it on at the track as well. But he definhtely has | :17:22. | :17:24.
the talent to make big things. Back in the workshop, speedway is a bit | :17:25. | :17:28.
different to other sports. Failing to prepare won't only leave broken | :17:29. | :17:31.
hearts, but broken bikes and broken bones. He has had one big m`jor | :17:32. | :17:38.
crash, which was last year over in Germany. His protection, | :17:39. | :17:43.
undergarments, are paramount. When he comes off the bike, it rdleases a | :17:44. | :17:47.
gas canister and he blows up like a big balloon. And that saved him last | :17:48. | :17:51.
year. Despite the odd crash, the trophies are already flooding in. | :17:52. | :17:55.
But the target is already sdt high, being the best. I want to bd world | :17:56. | :18:01.
champion. I think every riddr's goal is to be world champion. I lean if | :18:02. | :18:05.
you go out there not thinking that, I don't think you can do well. | :18:06. | :18:09.
You've got to aim for the top. I believe I can get there. Yotng | :18:10. | :18:15.
Lambert has set his sights high His friends and family hope he can keep | :18:16. | :18:19.
both feet and both wheels on the ground. | :18:20. | :18:23.
And there's full coverage of the Stars' meeting with Lakesidd Hammers | :18:24. | :18:26.
on BBC Radio Norfolk this evening from seven. | :18:27. | :18:29.
In cricket, the England captain Charlotte Edwards, has becole only | :18:30. | :18:32.
the second woman to be named as one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the | :18:33. | :18:36.
Year. Edwards, from Cambridge, has won five Ashes series, the World Cup | :18:37. | :18:40.
and the World Twenty20. I'vd had a lot to take in over the last six | :18:41. | :18:44.
months. And this was another thing that has completely shocked me. You | :18:45. | :18:48.
know, since I was a child, H've looked at the Wisden. My dad always | :18:49. | :18:53.
had every year. To be knowing that I'm in the 2014 edition, it is a | :18:54. | :18:57.
very proud moment for me. And finally, some call it a sport. | :18:58. | :19:04.
Some just entertainment. But wrestler Paige, who's from Norwich, | :19:05. | :19:07.
became the WWE's new Diva's champion this week. The 21`year`old hs now | :19:08. | :19:10.
the number one women's wrestler in the world. Congratulations to her | :19:11. | :19:15.
and her very proud wrestling family in Norwich. Fancy giving it a go? | :19:16. | :19:22.
LAUGHTER. I'm sure I would be unnatur`l! You | :19:23. | :19:30.
should give it a go. I will stick to kick boxing. And you're verx good at | :19:31. | :19:35.
that. But you have not tried the London Marathon? I have not, and I | :19:36. | :19:42.
will not. We have some very good people, the director is running | :19:43. | :19:48.
That is this Sunday. Between now and then, we'll be meeting some of this | :19:49. | :19:51.
year's runners. We start tonight with a Cambridge man who's lade sure | :19:52. | :19:55.
he'll stand out from the crowd. Seb Falk is doing a PhD. He's | :19:56. | :19:59.
studying the history of medheval astronomy. He volunteers here at the | :20:00. | :20:03.
Whipple Museum of the History of Science in Cambridge. But in his | :20:04. | :20:06.
spare moments, rare moments, Seb Falk is Gherkinman. | :20:07. | :20:17.
Seb is running the London M`rathon as the London Gherkin. And ht is | :20:18. | :20:25.
going to hurt. The furthest I have run in this costume in training is | :20:26. | :20:31.
eight miles. Um, the first time I did that, I crashed into a low | :20:32. | :20:35.
bridge. So it was a bit of ` concern. It needed a bit of patching | :20:36. | :20:40.
up with gaffer tape. But ye`h, I've done all my runs with extra weight, | :20:41. | :20:43.
so I am prepared for the wehght but the wind resistance could bd a bit | :20:44. | :20:48.
of an issue. Seb has made a video of his training, which is helphng to | :20:49. | :20:51.
raise money for Parkinson's research. He's already got ?8,0 0 | :20:52. | :20:55.
and he's hoping to push it to ten. It is Parkinson's Awareness Week. | :20:56. | :20:58.
But he's more aware of Parkhnson's than most. His dad Fergus h`s | :20:59. | :21:02.
suffered with the condition for 15 years. It's a disease that can | :21:03. | :21:06.
affect men and women. At allost any age. And it really just takds your | :21:07. | :21:11.
life away from you and it's pretty hideous. So it's something that I | :21:12. | :21:14.
think is a really important cause, obviously, and I hope that other | :21:15. | :21:18.
people will agree with that and will support me. And if nothing dlse | :21:19. | :21:21.
they'll get a laugh out of trying to watch me run the marathon in this | :21:22. | :21:25.
costume. Seb was born in 1980, the year Seb Coe won at the Moscow | :21:26. | :21:29.
Olympics. On Sunday, he will go like Coe. He's aiming for sub`3 hours, | :21:30. | :21:34.
15. That is chafing fast in a papier`mache body suit. Tod`y, | :21:35. | :21:40.
last`minute training and a snap with some French students on a school | :21:41. | :21:43.
trip. He'll be wearing race number 31955. But you can't really miss | :21:44. | :21:53.
him. Go! CHEERING. Go, Gherkin! | :21:54. | :22:00.
Brilliant. Bumped into some low bridges. I love that! And if you're | :22:01. | :22:04.
taking part in the London M`rathon this weekend, please send us your | :22:05. | :22:08.
photos. Either share on our Facebook page or email [email protected]. I | :22:09. | :22:12.
cannot even say that. If you like mucking about on boats. | :22:13. | :22:18.
You might know the name Herbert Woods. He was a pioneer of boating | :22:19. | :22:24.
holidays on the Broads nearly 9 years ago. Today, the Princdss Royal | :22:25. | :22:27.
joined the celebrations at Potter Heigham to mark his contribttion to | :22:28. | :22:30.
the industry. And as Mike Lhggins reports, she found that much has | :22:31. | :22:33.
changed since Herbert Woods started out. | :22:34. | :22:37.
Herbert Woods was a visionary. In 1920s comedy designed and btilt a | :22:38. | :22:41.
new class of board especially the Broads, easier to handle, rdliable, | :22:42. | :22:47.
great to look at. The Princdss Royal went on board the latest crtiser, | :22:48. | :22:54.
the ?180,000 sovereign light. And she saw the last word in luxury And | :22:55. | :22:58.
part of what the company is seeing is a bright future. It is looking | :22:59. | :23:05.
good this year, last year w`s good because of the nice weather, | :23:06. | :23:10.
carrying through this year, 20% up on this point last year. We hope | :23:11. | :23:13.
lots of people will enjoy Broads holidays. The Princess Royal spent | :23:14. | :23:19.
about an hour looking at thd old wooden boats, speaking to staff | :23:20. | :23:23.
presenting a watch to one m`n who worked here for 50 years. Hdre is | :23:24. | :23:33.
really man and boy! He has seen a lot of changes, not least in what is | :23:34. | :23:39.
demanded from a Broads cruiser. All the modern things, like teldvisions, | :23:40. | :23:44.
microwaves, heating. That is all right? Yes, but more things to go | :23:45. | :23:51.
wrong. Which we have to fix if they do. Herbert Woods' youngest daughter | :23:52. | :23:59.
flew in from New Zealand for the visit. She has so many happx | :24:00. | :24:03.
memories of growing up here, playing in the boat yard and on the water. | :24:04. | :24:08.
And here we are today, a melber of the Royal family has been hdre, | :24:09. | :24:15.
which must make you very proud? Certainly does, really does, and she | :24:16. | :24:19.
was so pleasant and easy to chat with and I enjoyed meeting her. A | :24:20. | :24:26.
proud day for the family and all the staff at Herbert Woods. Can you | :24:27. | :24:30.
imagine how delighted the m`n who gave his name to the companx would | :24:31. | :24:37.
have been? They had a lovely day for it. | :24:38. | :24:43.
It was, but at the chilly start some places close to freezing | :24:44. | :24:52.
yesterday. Look how the temperatures climbed, a number of locations | :24:53. | :24:57.
getting to 17 degrees today, so not bad at all. High pressure across the | :24:58. | :25:03.
southern half of the British Isles, looking pretty settled this week. | :25:04. | :25:09.
Varied cloud. This afternoon, that pushing into western countids. For | :25:10. | :25:14.
some, some cloud over the l`st few hours. But that will begin to melt | :25:15. | :25:18.
away this evening. Into somd chilly temperatures overnight. But those | :25:19. | :25:24.
should not fall away quite so low because of high temperatures today. | :25:25. | :25:29.
Long clear spells allowing Lr to fall into the early hours of | :25:30. | :25:35.
tomorrow. `` allowing mist. Temperature is a degree or two Lower | :25:36. | :25:39.
rural sports could mean somd ground frost. Tomorrow is similar to today. | :25:40. | :25:48.
Dry and sunny spells. Cloudx through the afternoon than today. That may | :25:49. | :25:53.
suppress temperatures are lhttle. Off to a chilly start, earlx mist | :25:54. | :25:56.
clearing, then sunny spells once more. The cloud bubble bobble up of | :25:57. | :26:01.
the afternoon, so we could dnd up with quite a cloudy picture through | :26:02. | :26:06.
the afternoon. That battle cloud will bubble up. Temperatures to | :26:07. | :26:14.
15`16 degrees and a light whnd from the West. The afternoon maybe | :26:15. | :26:18.
cloudy, but a fine end to the day. Some change on the way. The pressure | :26:19. | :26:24.
part in late Thursday into Friday, a cold front, not much rain on it | :26:25. | :26:29.
just probably get using mord cloud. High pressure then builds in for the | :26:30. | :26:33.
weekend, so not a bad forec`st at all. For Friday, it maybe cloudy in | :26:34. | :26:41.
that front cleared to slow `` slow to clear, and feeling cooler, and | :26:42. | :26:48.
sunny spells for the afternoon. Then into the weekend, and it looks like | :26:49. | :26:50.
good conditions for the London Marathon. Cool start, becomhng | :26:51. | :26:59.
Sally, `` becoming sunny. One chilly night to flag up, Friday night, | :27:00. | :27:04.
tomorrow night with more cloud will be milder. | :27:05. | :27:10.
That is it. Thanks for your company this evening. See you tomorrow. | :27:11. | :27:12.
Goodbye. 'But mostly, | :27:13. | :27:52.
