Hello and welcome to Look East. and on BBC One we now

:00:00.:00:00.

In the programme tonight, concern grows at plans to change

:00:00.:00:09.

Rather than head south, more planes could head east.

:00:10.:00:14.

Forced marriage becomes illegal today.

:00:15.:00:18.

This woman was taken to Pakhstan for what she thought was a holiday,

:00:19.:00:21.

but refused to go through with the wedding.

:00:22.:00:25.

I got pushed onto the floor, I got hit and I got beaten,

:00:26.:00:28.

I honestly believed that I was going to die there.

:00:29.:00:37.

And the police say the thieves are experts.

:00:38.:00:43.

If this man gets his flag on the TV in Brazil, he'll win a lot

:00:44.:00:49.

I think these boys have drunk half of it already!

:00:50.:01:07.

First tonight, concern over a plan to change

:01:08.:01:10.

the flight paths for thousands of planes taking off from Stansted.

:01:11.:01:13.

At the moment, most head south towards London.

:01:14.:01:16.

But now air traffic controllers want them to go east towards

:01:17.:01:19.

Because fewer planes go in that direction,

:01:20.:01:25.

those that do will be able to climb quicker and fly higher.

:01:26.:01:28.

That will mean they can save fuel and reduce the noise for sole.

:01:29.:01:31.

Our reporter Louise Hubball is at Stansted now.

:01:32.:01:41.

There are 450 flights per day here, 60,000 passengers per day. A lot of

:01:42.:01:52.

aircraft and a lot of noise. So those people living

:01:53.:01:56.

path will be watching today's announcement

:01:57.:02:00.

This is what living near Stansted Airport sounds like. In the back

:02:01.:02:06.

round, day in, day out, for homeowners and businesses

:02:07.:02:14.

underneath. And now the company that manages UK traffic is

:02:15.:02:17.

expanding at changing the number of planes on certain routes. Planes

:02:18.:02:23.

flying south are on what is known as the Dover route,

:02:24.:02:28.

congestion from Heathrow they have to keep below 7000

:02:29.:02:32.

Thames Estuary. Under the proposals, flights to the south

:02:33.:02:38.

during the daytime. Instead, the number of planes flying along the

:02:39.:02:43.

less congested east route towards Clacton would double. They would be

:02:44.:02:45.

able to climb continuously, reducing CO2 emissions and overall noise But

:02:46.:02:51.

I went to great Dunmow, along the East route, and people here are not

:02:52.:02:58.

happy. No, no more planes, we don't need any more. They never stop,

:02:59.:03:06.

land right over your roof and you can nearly see the people in them.

:03:07.:03:12.

a lot to me. Business owners have strong views.

:03:13.:03:19.

clientele, it is going to blight the area. We have made significant

:03:20.:03:23.

progress over the last ten xears reduce noise impact. Currently, 1250

:03:24.:03:27.

people are compare that to Heathrow where there

:03:28.:03:32.

are significantly less. The air traffic

:03:33.:03:36.

company they are necessary because London is

:03:37.:03:45.

the world's busiest air space. In actuality, it is only going to be a

:03:46.:03:52.

the airport that could feel the impact of the new flights.

:03:53.:03:58.

the eastbound route would be climbing continuously, so they

:03:59.:04:05.

their profile than when they are heading south first.

:04:06.:04:09.

consultation into the proposals has now started. Well,

:04:10.:04:15.

opportunity to have your say over what is being proposed

:04:16.:04:22.

today with strong opinions who didn't want to

:04:23.:04:33.

sure your voice is heard. You can do that I

:04:34.:04:37.

A charity based in Norfolk which has been instrumental in helping to make

:04:38.:04:38.

forced marriage a criminal offence says the new law will save lives.

:04:39.:04:40.

From today anyone found guilty faces a jail sentence

:04:41.:04:42.

According to official figures there were 45 cases of forced marriage

:04:43.:04:47.

in the East of England last year, but the real figure could bd more

:04:48.:04:49.

In a moment, we'll hear frol the founder of the Freedom Charity.

:04:50.:04:55.

But first Nikki Fox has been speaking to one woman taken to

:04:56.:04:58.

Pakistan to be married against her will.

:04:59.:05:02.

Regardless of religion, whether it's arranged or more rarely

:05:03.:05:08.

a love match, it has the consent of both bride and groom.

:05:09.:05:11.

And that's the crucial difference between an arranged marriagd

:05:12.:05:14.

A week before my 18th birthday, I was taken to Pakistan.

:05:15.:05:21.

As far as I understood it, it was a holiday.

:05:22.:05:25.

Within weeks, the boy's family had one evening come down en masse

:05:26.:05:31.

I was stood there, thinking, I don't want this.

:05:32.:05:39.

I can't live like this and I can't live here.

:05:40.:05:42.

In Pakistan, Rashida refused to take part in the ceremonx.

:05:43.:05:46.

The consequences were violent and the situation desperate.

:05:47.:05:50.

I got pushed onto floors, I got hit and I got beaten.

:05:51.:05:54.

I honestly believed that I was going to die there.

:05:55.:06:03.

Every year in the UK, it's estimated 8,000 women `re

:06:04.:06:09.

In 2008, the Labour governmdnt did bring intervention orders

:06:10.:06:15.

Now it's punishable by up to seven years in prison.

:06:16.:06:22.

Forced marriage is a fundamental breach of hum`n rights

:06:23.:06:25.

that robs people of the opportunity to choose their own future.

:06:26.:06:28.

The government is now working with police forces

:06:29.:06:31.

and charities to launch a joint campaign against forced marriage.

:06:32.:06:35.

Children as young as 12 call ChildLine, with numbers

:06:36.:06:38.

There are a number of victims out there who I know would have

:06:39.:06:47.

reported, had it been a criminal offence, had that been open to them.

:06:48.:06:51.

There have been prosecutions locally of other offences that occur as

:06:52.:06:55.

a result, but this is a law change that we are fully supporting.

:06:56.:07:01.

But not everyone thinks the change in law is a positive thing.

:07:02.:07:04.

This lady is a family lawyer based in Luton.

:07:05.:07:17.

I feel crimilalisng it has little effect other than deterring young

:07:18.:07:19.

Everybody says it will prevdnt victims coming forward.

:07:20.:07:26.

Rashida is now working with police to raise awareness

:07:27.:07:35.

She is hoping it will encourage others to find the strength

:07:36.:07:40.

Anita Prem from the Norfolk based charhty

:07:41.:07:48.

Freedom2Choose has been a ldading campaigner against forced marriage.

:07:49.:07:51.

She's delighted with the new law and is confident that cases will get

:07:52.:07:53.

I don't think anyone would want to send a family member to prison

:07:54.:08:00.

If you look at forced marri`ge for young people as child abuse, who

:08:01.:08:06.

would say it is OK for that person not face the full weight of the law?

:08:07.:08:09.

There are other alternatives, of course,

:08:10.:08:11.

but ultimately for the most serious cases prison has to be an option.

:08:12.:08:16.

The government figures and the figures in reality, for every one

:08:17.:08:20.

case the government gets to hear about, you reckon there are eight

:08:21.:08:22.

So it's not going to make any difference to those people.

:08:23.:08:28.

It's going to make a huge difference.

:08:29.:08:31.

If people feel when they come forward and report that thex are

:08:32.:08:34.

In Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex they are doing a tremendous amount

:08:35.:08:39.

of work, the police forces, to make sure they have

:08:40.:08:41.

the correct training and resources available to support people.

:08:42.:08:44.

As a charity in the area, we are working closely with social

:08:45.:08:47.

services to make sure that someone comes forward is taken seriously.

:08:48.:08:50.

And also working in the community to spot the signs

:08:51.:08:53.

Who will come forward though, out of the family, if

:08:54.:09:00.

the young woman is away in ` foreign country being forced into marriage?

:09:01.:09:03.

Ordinary people in ordinary streets will come forward and report.

:09:04.:09:12.

And that's why Freedom Charity, we have set up

:09:13.:09:14.

By working in schools in thd region, we can educate young men

:09:15.:09:21.

and women as to the dangers of forced marriage.

:09:22.:09:23.

And if you do force someone into marriage,

:09:24.:09:26.

We can't be politically correct around it.

:09:27.:09:36.

We have to stop it now and now we have got the law on our side

:09:37.:09:39.

As a charity, we are pleased with the help that is

:09:40.:09:41.

There will be somebody watching this this evening who is worried about

:09:42.:09:47.

a young girl, they think solething bad may have happened to her.

:09:48.:09:50.

I would say pick up the phone now and speak to

:09:51.:09:55.

If you are that one person, doing nothing isn't an option

:09:56.:10:04.

because the alternative life you would have would be so horrhfic

:10:05.:10:07.

A teenager has admitted illegally owning a gun which was fired

:10:08.:10:23.

accidentally at a five`year`old boy during a cops and robbers g`me.

:10:24.:10:25.

18`year`old Johnny Wilson from Wickford was looking

:10:26.:10:27.

after the child at his home when the shooting happened, seriously

:10:28.:10:29.

Basildon Crown Court heard the children had found the gun

:10:30.:10:33.

Plans have gone on display for a giant wind farm

:10:34.:10:41.

Up to 172 turbines would be built as part of the East Anglia Three

:10:42.:10:47.

site, which would be about 42 miles off the coast from Lowestoft.

:10:48.:10:51.

One of the oldest golf clubs in the region conducted

:10:52.:10:54.

a witch hunt against a member of staff according to a judge

:10:55.:10:56.

Margaret Chadwick was sacked by Aldeburgh Golf Club two years ago.

:10:57.:11:02.

The club has been ordered to pay Mrs Chadwick ?50,000 in compensation

:11:03.:11:04.

Margaret Chadwick has won hdr case but feels no sense of triumph. There

:11:05.:11:17.

were no complaints about her the golf club until a new club

:11:18.:11:26.

secretary arrived. The judgd said Mr Beckett had come from Hadley

:11:27.:11:31.

his dictatorial manner saw him referred to as the Ayatollah. We

:11:32.:11:37.

started finding full with Mrs Chadwick's work. One cannot get away

:11:38.:11:41.

from the feeling that the claimant was the victim of nothing short of a

:11:42.:11:46.

witchhunt, said the judge. When Mrs about alleged bullying, the judge

:11:47.:11:51.

said the captain misunderstanding of bullying and

:11:52.:12:00.

harassment. Tim Rowan Robinson took over as club captain two months ago.

:12:01.:12:03.

The whole thing has been an unfortunate incident. We were

:12:04.:12:08.

surprised by the strength of the judgement. We took legal advice and

:12:09.:12:11.

we were surprised at the strength of the judgement at the end. What do

:12:12.:12:16.

you say to Mrs Chadwick very sorry she has been through this

:12:17.:12:22.

process. unfortunate and I understand she has

:12:23.:12:28.

been upset by it. What did it this? I haven't got any confidence

:12:29.:12:35.

any do it and do it now. Did that wear

:12:36.:12:45.

you down? Oh, yes. I did sax to him, it's akin to bullying.

:12:46.:12:50.

it done. It didn't matter what I achieved. It wasn't enough. This has

:12:51.:12:55.

really floored me. So many people that I thought... Super people.

:12:56.:13:02.

Doing this to me... I couldn't work out why. Why? I've got to move on

:13:03.:13:07.

for my family, but I will need for my family, but I will nded help

:13:08.:13:14.

to do that. The judge referred to Mr Beckett's manner as sometimds

:13:15.:13:17.

aggressive and intimidating. But the club said it had confidence in its

:13:18.:13:21.

secretary tonight. Still to come, the long Phil Noble.

:13:22.:13:40.

Plus the tennis stars raising money in honour of Elena.

:13:41.:13:44.

There is a warning tonight about an increase in bee rustling.

:13:45.:13:47.

The thieves arrive during the night when the hive is

:13:48.:13:49.

full and take the whole thing with thousands of bees inside.

:13:50.:13:52.

Of course, the bees don't lhke being disturbed and if you don't

:13:53.:13:55.

know what you are doing you can end up getting stung many times.

:13:56.:13:58.

There is also a risk to the bee population.

:13:59.:14:04.

They backed the vehicle in, down beside there. The first one went

:14:05.:14:15.

back here. Thieves recently tried to steal six hives from Eric. They got

:14:16.:14:22.

tipped over and would have resulted in half a million angry

:14:23.:14:26.

after them. If there were any lights, they would go towards them

:14:27.:14:30.

and hopefully give them a peppering. These are just some of

:14:31.:14:37.

his bees. He has 30 hives in total. He has had hives stolen in the past.

:14:38.:14:46.

This will protect me from the bees? That's it. You won't get sttng. He

:14:47.:14:49.

says without the right equipment, anyone who tries to take beehives

:14:50.:14:53.

might make a few hundred potnds could put their lives at risk. If

:14:54.:14:59.

they weren't geared up with a quick takeaway, they would

:15:00.:15:06.

probably get stung a because I have been stung a couple

:15:07.:15:14.

of hundred times used to be home to 80,000 bees. They

:15:15.:15:23.

had been nurtured over the last more than three miles away otherwise

:15:24.:15:36.

they would crops. John was pretty devastated,

:15:37.:15:46.

losing a hide the year before message for the thieves. Potentially

:15:47.:15:58.

a very dangerous from a single sting, anaphylactic

:15:59.:16:08.

shock. The clear message to the around 100,000 bees working in here,

:16:09.:16:17.

if you put your hand on the top create a virus which can kill them

:16:18.:16:29.

and also spread to other years to build up these colonies and

:16:30.:16:40.

just minutes to steal them. Earlier this year, Elena was

:16:41.:16:43.

diagnosed with liver cancer. She was just 30 years old

:16:44.:16:44.

when she died last month. They called the fundraising

:16:45.:16:49.

the Rally For Bally, and among the stars taking part, Andy

:16:50.:16:52.

Murray and Martina Navratilova. It was tennis's tribute. The biggest

:16:53.:17:07.

names, past and present, rallying for ball macroy. She was amazing,

:17:08.:17:13.

one of my favourite people hn the world. She gave it absolutely

:17:14.:17:19.

everything, she maxed out on everything she had. She battled

:17:20.:17:22.

significant illnesses and injuries. Elena Baltacha's deaths frol liver

:17:23.:17:28.

cancer at the age of 30 has shocked the sport. The matches yestdrday in

:17:29.:17:31.

Birmingham, London and where religiously planned to lift

:17:32.:17:38.

her when she was ill, instead they were played in her

:17:39.:17:44.

with a lot of adversity in her career. To be playing in thd

:17:45.:17:53.

more and more over the years, you understand what

:17:54.:18:00.

was. Elena Baltacha battled for years with liver disease but it

thick. It's great for her mdmory. I am a tennis coach so I

:18:25.:18:32.

more opportunities on court. Her death will help so

:18:33.:18:41.

penny of it, me and the other trustees

:18:42.:18:50.

that I know my wife would have wanted that money to be spent.

:18:51.:18:59.

she seemed totally at home. Today, back to hard

home. Today, back to hard training with coach Jamie other lettdralle.

:19:14.:19:20.

enough to spend a bit of tile, very proud

:19:21.:19:27.

court with the probes. Rallx for Bally has raised ?60,000.

:19:28.:19:34.

to become a star thanks to tennis's true champion. Within the last few

:19:35.:19:39.

minutes, a foal of the legendary Newmarket racehorse Frankel has been

:19:40.:19:44.

sold in central London. His mum was sold as well. GE is called Crystal

:19:45.:19:46.

Gaze. A foal is just a few lonths old and is literally a horsd with no

:19:47.:19:56.

name. `` is called Crystal Gaze The foal has been sold together with his

:19:57.:20:03.

the first offspring from Frankel to come under the hammer. Thesd

:20:04.:20:10.

pictures were taken just before the auction at Kensington Palacd in

:20:11.:20:17.

London. The mayor is expecthng her second foal from Frankel next year.

:20:18.:20:21.

Frankel is the world 's top rated racehorse, having never been

:20:22.:20:25.

beaten. He retired last year after winning all 14 races. He was trained

:20:26.:20:30.

by the renowned horse traindr Sir Henry Cecil, who sadly lost his

:20:31.:20:36.

battle with cancer last year. Frankel's breeding career h`s been

:20:37.:20:40.

very successful. He has alrdady beaten what he earned on thd track.

:20:41.:20:48.

His stud fee was set at ?124,00 a time, so it's looking very

:20:49.:20:52.

promising! You get three for the price of two! Buy one, get one free.

:20:53.:20:59.

We both watched the football on Saturday night but we had different

:21:00.:21:05.

experiences, you watched with the sound down. Because my wife had gone

:21:06.:21:10.

to bed and she was in the bedroom to bed and she was in the bedroom

:21:11.:21:14.

above. So thoughtful! I watched it in complete silence, but you

:21:15.:21:16.

in complete silence, but yot watched it with your husband fast asleep

:21:17.:21:19.

beside you. He did wake point to say, why aren't we watching

:21:20.:21:26.

this in HD? I was following it on Twitter website.

:21:27.:21:31.

about the commentary wilder than the website. `` rather than the website.

:21:32.:21:39.

Here is Mike with tonight's roundup. With 15 million people watching on

:21:40.:21:43.

Saturday night, you might thought England fans would have been

:21:44.:21:48.

interested in the football. COMMENTATOR: Through the crowd, into

:21:49.:21:57.

the net! But instead they wdre more interested in this man's commentary.

:21:58.:22:04.

COMMENTATOR: Wonderful work. The BBC's co`commentator was the former

:22:05.:22:08.

England defender Phil Neville. Only his delivery lacked a little punch,

:22:09.:22:13.

his delivery lacked a littld punch, shall we say. Not a huge problem,

:22:14.:22:16.

only that a lot of England fans on twitter sent Rudra Marx to Phil

:22:17.:22:19.

Neville from Suffolk, who sdlls Neville from Suffolk, who sells

:22:20.:22:22.

designer... `` sent Rudra mdssages. designer... `` sent Rudra messages.

:22:23.:22:30.

In all honesty, most of the photos were like Phil Neville's commentary,

:22:31.:22:35.

were like Phil Neville's colmentary, not all that interesting, but hey,

:22:36.:22:37.

not all that interesting, btt hey, let's try again on Thursday. If you

:22:38.:22:42.

want a real party, you need to get to the George pub in to feel, near

:22:43.:22:51.

Towcester town. The regular John is taking this flag with him. Hf

:22:52.:22:55.

gets it on the telly, the landlord has promised to give him a firkin of

:22:56.:23:02.

a, that's nine gallons. We know we can get these on the TV. It is just

:23:03.:23:07.

being in the right place whdn the a pint if the cameras catch sight of

:23:08.:23:13.

the flag. I think he will do it. He in the right position, it will be on

:23:14.:23:25.

and it would be a pleasure to volunteering in the Maracan`. She

:23:26.:23:30.

had her Argentina versus Bosnia. A leet and

:23:31.:23:35.

greet role. helping them find their seats. Just

:23:36.:23:41.

welcoming them to end of the game, pointing towards

:23:42.:23:46.

the exit and thanking the match but she didn't sed the

:23:47.:23:55.

Lionel Messi goal. COMMENTATOR: Messi scores estimation

:23:56.:24:03.

mark Lionel Messi! The power went off in this pub 20 minutes from time

:24:04.:24:07.

in the England game and use candles. For everyone in the

:24:08.:24:12.

Rose, I didn't see any photos of xour

:24:13.:24:22.

sleeping husband! He is not worth seeing! I think he looks very nice

:24:23.:24:27.

awake. He is not going to thank you When I spoke to you this time last

:24:28.:24:42.

week, Essex had just seen the warmest day of the year so far in

:24:43.:24:48.

the whole country. They reached 26.5 Celsius, with many other

:24:49.:24:53.

far behind. What a difference a week has made. Today, temperatures for

:24:54.:24:57.

these places and for many of eight ` 10 degrees lower. A chilly

:24:58.:25:01.

north to north`easterly wind and awful lot of cloud for most of the
