Hello, good evening. It's bden confirmed that the body of ` man

found in the River Foss in Xork on Friday is that of missing student

Ben Clarkson. 22`year`old Bdn had been missing since a night out in

the city three weeks ago. After his body was found his girlfriend,

Rachel Peatfield, issued a statement, on behalf of his family,

paying tribute to a wonderftl character who was kind and gentle.

Meanwhile, the family of missing County Durham teacher Mark Bushnell

are still waiting for forensic officers to put a name to the body

found near the spot where hd vanished. Police searching for Mr

Bushnell say it could take some time to formally identify the man, who

was found on a beach near Pdterlee yesterday. Hannah Bayman reports.

at Blackhall Rocks, a walker found the body of a middle`aged m`n, which

had apparently been washed tp on the shore. It is two weeks sincd the

search began for 50`year`old Mark Bushnell, a father of three and the

deputy head teacher of Durh`m School. Police say it will be a

painstaking process to identify the body, which may have been in the

water here for some time. As well as DNA testing, they say they lay need

to use dental records. Quitd often in these circumstances, we live

like to thank the public because there has been an overwhelmhng

amount of information coming in Clearly a lot of people werd

concerned and also our thoughts are with the family as well. It is

The police are investigating the cause of a fire that destroxed a

100`year`old church hall ne`r Durham City. The fire, in the hamldt of

Meadowfield, broke out at about six o'clock this morning. The h`ll,

which is attached to St John's Church, was about to undergo a

programme of extensive refurbishment. The proposal was to

try to have it up and running as a community hall. We had actu`lly been

given donations from a local supermarket to help towards the

funding. A lot of disappointment and disbelief.

A North Tyneside woman is urging people to make copies of prdcious

digital photographs after a laptop containing irreplaceable pictures of

her dead father was stolen. Ali s father died only recently, `nd Ali,

although a keen photographer, says she had no back`ups of the hmages of

him. It was last weekend when Alh, her

partner and two small children were asleep upstairs in their Tyneside

home. They didn't hear the hntruders break in. And in the morning, Ali's

laptop was gone. On it were hundreds of photos of her father, her only

copies. My dad was terminally ill for a long time so I was kedn to

take as many photos as posshble and he passed away in November last

year. Ali had bought a back`up hard drive the day before. Obviotsly

meaning to do the back`up and the prints and everything, and H just

haven't done it yet and now I haven't got that chance, thdy have

just gone. Of all those pictures and home videos she had of her dad, Ali

now has just three prints to remember him by.

I imagine many people watchhng this will have most of their dightal

pictures only on a computer. What I would say to those people as for

goodness sake back`up your photos, it takes an hour out of your life.

They made everything to me. I don't care how we get them or where they

come from, who they are handed into, just please get my photos b`ck.

Well, Ali now has a burglar alarm but not those precious photos. If

you have them, you know what the decent thing to do is.
