In Teamtalk, With football's transfer window | :00:42. | :00:44.
about to slam shut, we've the latest on who's in and who's out. | :00:45. | :00:48.
And as Carlisle's Graham Kavanagh becomes our first managerial | :00:49. | :00:50.
casualty of the season, we look back at a frustrating and winless weekend | :00:51. | :00:53.
A chemical linked to a serious lung disease ` | :00:54. | :01:10.
that's what a BBC investigation found in an e`cigarette liqtid | :01:11. | :01:15.
Tonight's Inside Out progralme on BBC1 reveals the product, | :01:16. | :01:20.
which is made by one of the biggest e`cigarette companies in | :01:21. | :01:23.
Last week, the World Health Organisation called | :01:24. | :01:32.
And here in the North East ` where smoking related deaths are | :01:33. | :01:37.
among the highest in the cotntry ` opinion is divided. | :01:38. | :01:40.
Some health campaigners argte e`cigs help smokers switch from | :01:41. | :01:43.
Today, 15 local smokers will die. For every | :01:44. | :01:50.
one who dies, another 20 out there suffering from awful diseasds. | :01:51. | :01:58.
This is still a really big problem for us which is why Fresh is open | :01:59. | :02:01.
They are as yet unentirely unregulatdd. | :02:02. | :02:09.
That is going to change, so at the moment if you go out on to the | :02:10. | :02:13.
streets and buy an e`cigarette you have no idea and I have no hdea what | :02:14. | :02:17.
Now you don't need a doctor to tell you that doesn t | :02:18. | :02:21.
But just how harmful are e`cigarettes? | :02:22. | :02:24.
I'm at the local market to buy some e`liquid. | :02:25. | :02:39.
Well I'll try the chocolate then, at 18mls of nicotine please. | :02:40. | :02:42.
I've bought two different brands of e`liquid from the market, | :02:43. | :02:45.
plus I've got a couple of others from shops nearby. | :02:46. | :02:48.
But I'm not going on a massive vaping binge, | :02:49. | :02:50.
I'm taking these to a lab to find out exactly what's in them. | :02:51. | :02:53.
We tested four different br`nds in total at this lab in Leeds. | :02:54. | :02:56.
Three were fine ` but one e`liquid contained diacetyl, | :02:57. | :02:58.
a chemical which is safe to eat but is not safe to inhale. | :02:59. | :03:02.
It is linked to a serious lung disease. | :03:03. | :03:09.
Well, that particular chemical is associated with an unusual but | :03:10. | :03:13.
established lung condition called popcorn workers lung and it has been | :03:14. | :03:16.
inhaled in significant quantities in people who worked in popcorn | :03:17. | :03:22.
factories and in those individuals it;s caused very serious lung | :03:23. | :03:27.
condition, serious enough to warrant lung transplantation. | :03:28. | :03:29.
We bought the e`liquid cont`ining diacetyl ` the butterscotch flavour | :03:30. | :03:32.
here in the VIP shop in Gateshead's Metro Centre. | :03:33. | :03:34.
VIP is one of the UK's biggest e`cigarette brands. | :03:35. | :03:36.
They told us they did know about this issue, after discovering | :03:37. | :03:41.
the chemical through their own testing procedures. | :03:42. | :03:43.
We're very disappointed that you were able to buy one | :03:44. | :03:46.
as we had done a withdrawal of the product a week or so beforehand | :03:47. | :03:52.
Sadly, in the store where you purchased it from there had been | :03:53. | :03:55.
a change in store management, and we've implemented that now | :03:56. | :04:00.
and the product has been colpletely withdrawn. | :04:01. | :04:05.
Because of the small amount the vaper would consume as such it | :04:06. | :04:13.
was deemed in the short terl there would be no health concerns. | :04:14. | :04:16.
Long term, yes, there could well be however we decided it was | :04:17. | :04:19.
a withdrawal rather than a recall of the product, and that | :04:20. | :04:21.
If we can't rely on you to withdraw a product | :04:22. | :04:27.
successfully how can we relx on you when you tell us how safe it is | :04:28. | :04:30.
You can certainly rely on it, because we're part of Ecita. | :04:31. | :04:33.
Ecita do spot checks and audits on us constantly. | :04:34. | :04:35.
This is our very very first issue in five years and we actually sell | :04:36. | :04:38.
We are very sorry its happened we're investigating how | :04:39. | :04:47.
its happened and we're taking it exceedingly seriously. | :04:48. | :04:49.
You happened to find that p`rticular chemical in that particular product | :04:50. | :04:52.
but there are thousands of products out there and hdck knows | :04:53. | :04:55.
VIP Butterscotch e`liquid is no longer available to buy. | :04:56. | :04:59.
Are there actually any controls on the contents of e`cigarettes | :05:00. | :05:06.
There is a consensus that e`cigarettes are bound to bd less | :05:07. | :05:11.
harmful than tobacco, but there is real concern about their qu`lity ` | :05:12. | :05:14.
Even the UK trade body for e`cigarette manufacturers, Dcita, | :05:15. | :05:17.
wants proper regulation to give the industry greater credibilitx and in | :05:18. | :05:27.
fact by 2016 all nicotine`containing products will be regulated | :05:28. | :05:29.
However there is still some doubt about their safety. | :05:30. | :05:33.
As I mentioned in the report, the World Health Organisation is | :05:34. | :05:35.
calling for E`cigarettes to be banned indoors | :05:36. | :05:37.
It's the start of a new serhes of Inside Out. | :05:38. | :05:42.
What other issues will you be tackling? | :05:43. | :05:46.
We're putting illegal tanning salons under the spotlight, I get tp close | :05:47. | :05:49.
and personal with plutonium at Sellafield, we'll be telling the | :05:50. | :05:53.
story of a footballing legend who changed the rules of the gale, and | :05:54. | :05:57.
if you're saving for a penshon, will you still be working | :05:58. | :06:00.
And the first in the new series of Inside Out is on tonight at 7.3 pm. | :06:01. | :06:11.
Cumbra Fire Service, Cumbri` Police and the Health and Safety Executive | :06:12. | :06:20.
have spent the day investig`ting a fireworks blaze near Winddrmere | :06:21. | :06:23.
A shed ` containing fireworks ` caught fire on Saturday aftdrnoon | :06:24. | :06:28.
in the grounds of a large house in Ecclerigg near Brockhole | :06:29. | :06:30.
as around 70 guests attended a wedding reception. | :06:31. | :06:32.
When the fire was put out, two bodies were found. | :06:33. | :06:35.
It's thought they were a man and a woman, | :06:36. | :06:37.
An inquest has opened into the death of a teenager who fell from | :06:38. | :06:51.
a window in a Gateshead tower block, eight years ago. | :06:52. | :06:54.
17 year`old Emily Mather fell 9 feet after drinking with frhends | :06:55. | :06:57.
Stephanie Cleasby reports from the inquest in Gateshe`d. | :06:58. | :06:59.
Emily Mather died after falling from a window on the ninth floor | :07:00. | :07:02.
On that fateful night, the teenager had been out drinking beford taking | :07:03. | :07:08.
a taxi with a female friend to the flat in Eslington Court. | :07:09. | :07:13.
They spent a couple of hours there with two other male friends ` | :07:14. | :07:16.
but Emily fell to her death in the early hours of Saturday 1 July. | :07:17. | :07:27.
The first witness called was Emily's best friend. The inpuest | :07:28. | :07:37.
heard that Emily's former boyfriend was in the flat and night she died | :07:38. | :07:41.
and that an argument had broken out between them after they had had sex. | :07:42. | :07:47.
Loren said that Emily was upset and cut her hand after smashing a cup. | :07:48. | :07:53.
She went to check on Emily hn the bedroom and she found she w`s not | :07:54. | :07:56.
there. When they look out of the window they saw her lying on the | :07:57. | :07:57.
ground nine floors below. A post`mortem examination found | :07:58. | :08:03.
cocaine in Emily's system. Her death was investigated hn 2 06, | :08:04. | :08:07.
where there were found to bd Emily's family raised questhons | :08:08. | :08:10.
about the police investigathon, although the Independent Police | :08:11. | :08:16.
Complaints Commission has ruled Northumbria | :08:17. | :08:17.
Police conducted it approprhately. The inquest is expected | :08:18. | :08:19.
to last two weeks. The new Chief Constable of | :08:20. | :08:24.
Cumbria Police says officer numbers will be reduced, in order to meet | :08:25. | :08:26.
a ?10 million budget cut by 201 . Gerry Graham said he was faced | :08:27. | :08:30.
with tough choices ` but axhng Our reporter Alison Freeman joins | :08:31. | :08:33.
us from our Carlisle studio now Jerry Graham was clear therd were | :08:34. | :08:44.
many difficult choices ahead because of funding cuts | :08:45. | :08:46.
by central government. The force has already made ?16 | :08:47. | :08:51.
million of savings and with 75% of the budget tied up in salaries, | :08:52. | :08:54.
he said it's inevitable that the further ?10 million would come | :08:55. | :08:56.
in the form of fewer staff. Since the cuts began in 2010, | :08:57. | :09:00.
the force has lost Gerry Graham said today that he d be | :09:01. | :09:03.
very surprised if in two to three years time there'd | :09:04. | :09:07.
be anywhere near that number. I have to reduce the front line | :09:08. | :09:17.
because I have reduced the back line, there is nothing else to look | :09:18. | :09:22.
at. As a police buildings, stations or officers, what type police | :09:23. | :09:27.
officer I'm going to lose, hs going to be uniformed officers or`te the | :09:28. | :09:35.
CSO, or a CID officer? ?1 mhllion equals roughly 35 offices. H have | :09:36. | :09:40.
got ?10 million to find. Yot can perhaps see the size of the | :09:41. | :09:42.
challenge when you put thesd numbers together. | :09:43. | :09:46.
One decision that has been lade is to reduce the number | :09:47. | :09:48.
of neighbourhood policing tdams from ten to three. | :09:49. | :09:50.
This would cut management but not officers on the grotnd. | :09:51. | :09:55.
The Police and Crime Commissioner Richard Rhodes pointed out that the | :09:56. | :09:57.
Inspectorate of Constabularhes named Cumbria as one of 18 forces it says | :09:58. | :10:00.
it has concerns about their ability to "withstand further reductions". | :10:01. | :10:03.
He's consulting with the public and says he hopes | :10:04. | :10:05.
the police will be able to keep up with their expectations. | :10:06. | :10:12.
If they have to ring 999 how quickly will the policeman turn up? That is | :10:13. | :10:22.
what they want to know, and there is pressure on the constabularx to | :10:23. | :10:25.
deliver that. And we hope that using technology and new vehicles and | :10:26. | :10:30.
better allocation of manpowdr and more flexible geographical | :10:31. | :10:32.
boundaries, that we should be able to deliver what people find is an | :10:33. | :10:37.
acceptable service and the circumstances. | :10:38. | :10:39.
Both Mr Rhodes and Mr Grahal say they do not want to see | :10:40. | :10:43.
the cuts force the constabulary into a merger in the future, Jeff. | :10:44. | :10:45.
Its critics call it "the bedroom tax." | :10:46. | :10:47.
The Government says it's the "under`occupancy penaltx." | :10:48. | :10:49.
Either way, thousands of people across our region are paying it | :10:50. | :10:52.
But if they moved to Scotland, they wouldn't have to. | :10:53. | :10:54.
Even if Scots vote "No" in this month's independence | :10:55. | :10:57.
referendum, the policy is about to be abolished there. | :10:58. | :11:01.
One disabled Teesside man s`ys this is an abuse of his human rights | :11:02. | :11:05.
Here's our Political Correspondent, Mark Denten. | :11:06. | :11:11.
Peter's bones are slowly cr`wling. For the last few months just getting | :11:12. | :11:17.
around his home in building has been a struggle. The level of pahn is | :11:18. | :11:24.
like walking around permanently with a washing machine strapped to your | :11:25. | :11:29.
back or stop because he has a third bedroom he has to pay ?630 per year | :11:30. | :11:34.
for the under`occupancy pen`lty called the bedroom tax by government | :11:35. | :11:37.
critics. If he lived in Scotland, he soon would not have to. If Scotland | :11:38. | :11:42.
votes no in the independencd referendum this month, the | :11:43. | :11:47.
government has given Scottish Parliament the power to set a cap on | :11:48. | :11:51.
discretionary housing benefht, effectively ending the so`c`lled | :11:52. | :11:55.
bedroom tax north of the border I am disgusted about it. Becatse it | :11:56. | :12:00.
should go right across the board. I am sure that it has got somd kind of | :12:01. | :12:07.
human rights violation. It hs one paying it and another one not, | :12:08. | :12:11.
although you are attached to the same country, it will not bd a | :12:12. | :12:15.
United Kingdom at all, becatse if it was, it would be one prize `cross | :12:16. | :12:21.
the board. Coalition supporters say that keeping the under`occupancy | :12:22. | :12:22.
penalty in England but not hn Scotland is fair. It depends whether | :12:23. | :12:28.
or not you believe in devolttion and localism. At the end of the day the | :12:29. | :12:32.
Scottish parliament will have to make choices. It is not an dxtra ?50 | :12:33. | :12:35.
million that is being used, they have to find savings elsewhdre, so | :12:36. | :12:39.
they have to make the choicd that they think is right for Scotland. | :12:40. | :12:44.
The Department for Work and Pensions stead that ending the spare room | :12:45. | :12:47.
subsidy was necessary in order to get the housing benefit bill under | :12:48. | :12:49.
control. And we have a special progr`mme | :12:50. | :12:52.
on Wednesday night looking `t what would happen in the North E`st and | :12:53. | :12:55.
Cumbria ` depending on the outcome Carol Malia and our Politic`l | :12:56. | :12:58.
Editor, Richard Moss, will be joined That's "Scotland and Us" | :12:59. | :13:02.
here on BBC One at 10.35pm. They came from across the North East | :13:03. | :13:09.
and Cumbria ` 100 heart transplant patients | :13:10. | :13:12.
gathered in Newcastle, to witness the release | :13:13. | :13:15.
of a hundred red balloons. Inside each one was | :13:16. | :13:18.
a personal letter of thanks Here's our health reporter, | :13:19. | :13:20.
Sharon Barbour. There was a cheer, | :13:21. | :13:27.
but then silence. A reflection | :13:28. | :13:31.
of what they'd been through. Inside each balloon, | :13:32. | :13:38.
a letter of thanks to those who saved their lives through | :13:39. | :13:47.
a heart transplant. It means a lot, because it hs hard. | :13:48. | :13:59.
What was your message? I am just slightly thankful, every dax. Your | :14:00. | :14:05.
message? Thank you for the gift of life. To Stephen, for his incredible | :14:06. | :14:12.
gift, which has allowed me to watch my incredibly beautiful and talented | :14:13. | :14:15.
daughter grow up to be a very strong and healthy adult. The reaction of | :14:16. | :14:20.
the patient's was amazing. Xou saw them cheering and then therd was | :14:21. | :14:25.
complete silence, and the alount of emotion, I had not seen that for a | :14:26. | :14:31.
long time. There are two thhngs to celebrate. The first thing hs the | :14:32. | :14:35.
success of transplanting to adults with heart disease, and the second | :14:36. | :14:40.
is the fantastic donors and their families who allowed us to tse their | :14:41. | :14:41.
hearts. But | :14:42. | :14:59.
the NHS continues its review of all We are meeting demand, and we are | :15:00. | :15:01.
going from strength to strength In six days time it is, of course, | :15:02. | :15:09.
the Great North Run ` and this year the one millionth runner will cross | :15:10. | :15:12.
the finishing line in South Shields. Among the thousands taking | :15:13. | :15:15.
part will be someone who's Last summer, | :15:16. | :15:18.
Durham cricket coach Geoff Cook suffered a heart attack, just | :15:19. | :15:20.
as he left the Chester`le`Street Luckily for him, paramedics | :15:21. | :15:23.
were instantly on the scene. This week, we gave Geoff | :15:24. | :15:26.
the chance to say thanks to How are you? It is good to see you. | :15:27. | :15:45.
One year on, fantastic, all the better for seeing you. Thank you. | :15:46. | :15:50.
Thank you so much. You are very welcome. You are life`savers, thank | :15:51. | :16:00.
you. I would say, any time, but .. ! Luck was on his side when hd | :16:01. | :16:03.
suffered a cardiac arrest, `nd he knows it. You are 20 seconds, if | :16:04. | :16:10.
that, away. Any further and it would have been a bit of a battle. | :16:11. | :16:16.
Absolutely, absolutely. It was in your favour. Absolutely amazing the | :16:17. | :16:29.
sequence of events. Jeff's heart had actually stopped beating. K`ren and | :16:30. | :16:34.
Sarah got that going again. Less than 40 minutes after he collapsed | :16:35. | :16:38.
he was in hospital. One year on and he really is up and running. You're | :16:39. | :16:43.
going on to do the great North run. I have not done it yet but H am | :16:44. | :16:48.
going to try and do it. The hospital people where very reassuring. They | :16:49. | :16:54.
said that there was no damage to my heart, and just a crack on with | :16:55. | :16:58.
things. I have always been ` glutton for a bit of exercise. And H do not | :16:59. | :17:03.
want to Mr great North run, if I can get in. And it will be good to make | :17:04. | :17:10.
a donation and I am thankful that I am able to do that. And you will | :17:11. | :17:15.
have a bit of company on thd run. My wife gets worried when I go jogging | :17:16. | :17:21.
now. She said, I don't mind you doing it if you have companx, so my | :17:22. | :17:25.
son is going to do it. He h`s done a couple of half marathons and | :17:26. | :17:29.
marathons, if he has got thd patience to stay with me, it will be | :17:30. | :17:33.
good. How good was it to sed him again today? It is amazing. You | :17:34. | :17:39.
rarely get to follow it through Examples of jobs like this, where | :17:40. | :17:43.
people have been incredibly unwell, you do not often get to see them | :17:44. | :17:47.
afterwards. To think that hd is doing the great North run this year, | :17:48. | :17:52.
it is absolutely amazing. The combination of the thing he is | :17:53. | :17:55.
doing, it is spectacular. Bdtter than us. What about meeting the | :17:56. | :18:04.
girls again? Fantastic. Sadly I have no recollection of the serids of | :18:05. | :18:08.
events before that. And I h`ve no recall at all. But it is lovely to | :18:09. | :18:14.
see them. It brings tears to your rise. Without them, I would not be | :18:15. | :18:19.
here, quite literally. `` to your eyes. | :18:20. | :18:27.
And we're staying with sport, because it's time for Team Talk | :18:28. | :18:32.
Now, normally, on transfer deadline day, | :18:33. | :18:34.
all the talk would be about which clubs are looking at which players ` | :18:35. | :18:37.
but Carlisle United, I'm afraid are looking for a new managdr. | :18:38. | :18:40.
Yes, the club announced this morning they'd sacked | :18:41. | :18:42.
Graham Kavanagh, with the Ctmbrians third`bottom of League Two, and | :18:43. | :18:44.
The Irishman had been in ch`rge for just under a year, having at first | :18:45. | :18:53.
been caretaker boss when Grdg Abbott left the club, last September. | :18:54. | :18:56.
The club issued a statement saying Saturday's 5`0 hammering | :18:57. | :18:58.
You have to feel sorry for Kavanagh, though ` couldn't save them from | :18:59. | :19:03.
relegation last season ` not much money to work with but he tried to | :19:04. | :19:07.
Club captain Paul Thirlwell and goalkeeping coach Tony Caig | :19:08. | :19:14.
will pick the team for tomorrow s Johnstone's Paint Trophy tid | :19:15. | :19:17.
This is what a few of their fans had to say. | :19:18. | :19:25.
He has had a go, he has brotght his own players in, and a displ`y on | :19:26. | :19:33.
Saturday was probably too mtch. It will give us some hope for the | :19:34. | :19:36.
following season. He has trhed his best with the team and the loney he | :19:37. | :19:40.
has got, I suppose you cannot do much else, can he? They could do | :19:41. | :19:45.
with someone with more experience or something like that. | :19:46. | :19:48.
The likes of Sean O'Driscoll, Colin Calderwood and Gary W`ddock | :19:49. | :19:51.
lead the early betting for Graham Kavanagh's replacement. | :19:52. | :19:56.
Interesting ` but what about transfer deadline day? | :19:57. | :19:58.
Mark Tulip is in our newsroom and he's monitoring | :19:59. | :20:01.
the situation, right now ` Lark what's been happening? | :20:02. | :20:03.
Let's start with a player NOT returning to Sunderland ` | :20:04. | :20:06.
Head coach Gus Poyet had bedn hoping at the very least to arrangd another | :20:07. | :20:10.
season`long loan from Liverpool but QPR now looks to be | :20:11. | :20:13.
Instead we believe Poyet's close to tying up loan deals for | :20:14. | :20:25.
Liverpool's Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates and the Inter | :20:26. | :20:28.
Elsewhere Middlesbrough havd completed the signing of Belgium | :20:29. | :20:33.
striker Jelle Vossen on a season`long loan from | :20:34. | :20:35.
And young Dutch winger Yanic Wildschut has provisionally | :20:36. | :20:43.
signed a two year contract from Heerenveen. | :20:44. | :20:45.
Defender Modibo Diakite, has left Sunderland by mutual consent. | :20:46. | :20:48.
And central defender Mapou Xanga Mbwia is expected to complete | :20:49. | :20:51.
a move from Newcastle United to Roma in the next few hours. | :20:52. | :20:54.
Toronto's England and ex Sptrs striker Jermaine Defoe has been | :20:55. | :20:56.
But I think it would be a m`jor surprise if he ended up on Tyneside. | :20:57. | :21:00.
Now there is a reason why both our Premier League clubs are looking for | :21:01. | :21:09.
a striker ` as you might know, if you watched them at the weekend, | :21:10. | :21:12.
with both still looking for their first three points of the sdason. | :21:13. | :21:15.
Yes ` although Newcastle scored their first three League go`ls, none | :21:16. | :21:18.
of them came from a forward And this one, from full`back Daryl | :21:19. | :21:21.
Janmaat, is a contender for scrappiest Goal of the Season! | :21:22. | :21:23.
And this young lad has come from Jamaica through Bristol, he's from | :21:24. | :21:31.
the Academy and he has scordd some great goals in preseason, and he set | :21:32. | :21:39.
up this one for Mike Willialson Sunderland could do with sole goals | :21:40. | :21:44.
from Steven Fletcher. Not qtite back to the form that he had last season. | :21:45. | :21:50.
Not since his injury. And even Vito Mannone went up against QPR trying | :21:51. | :21:56.
to get a last`minute equaliser. Those are the problems we h`ve got | :21:57. | :22:05.
`` they have got up front. Good effort from Tim Krul, he cotld not | :22:06. | :22:09.
quite wrap quickly enough to that shot from Dwight Gayle. Jack Colback | :22:10. | :22:14.
should have closed down quicker there. The defence is as sh`ky as | :22:15. | :22:21.
the front line. The skull w`s the equaliser, seven minutes into injury | :22:22. | :22:27.
time. Neil Warnock, jubilant. And Mike Ashley looking sick because | :22:28. | :22:30.
he's doing to have to spend more money. Charlie Austin hammering that | :22:31. | :22:37.
one home for QPR against Sunderland. Both clubs on the lookout for new | :22:38. | :22:41.
players. We have a few things lined up, but a couple of 1's two weeks | :22:42. | :22:47.
ago, and we will need to waht and get over the line. Will you be glad | :22:48. | :22:53.
when midnight strikes on Monday Yes, it is not an ideal sittation as | :22:54. | :23:01.
I have repeated many times. How exciting talent is he to manage for | :23:02. | :23:05.
you at the moment? He is a player with tremendous self belief, he has | :23:06. | :23:10.
tremendous pace. He has a great future at this put all club. We have | :23:11. | :23:14.
been lucky to get him through the system. I am sure that he whll get | :23:15. | :23:19.
plenty of games. He has almost forced his way in. | :23:20. | :23:23.
So Middlesbrough have brought in a number of signings and they need | :23:24. | :23:30.
Well if boss Aitor Karanka had been in any doubt about whether his squad | :23:31. | :23:53.
Reading will have convinced him Simon Cox put Reading in front after | :23:54. | :23:56.
just 7 minutes lobbing keepdr Tomas Mejias into the bargain. Boro did | :23:57. | :23:59.
have plenty of chances in the game though ` Adam Clayton, Kite and | :24:00. | :24:02.
Albert Adomah all coming close but perhaps the nearest they cale to | :24:03. | :24:05.
levelling the score was when Reading defender Chris Gunther almost netted | :24:06. | :24:08.
an own goal. Karanka said hd'd be working until the last second to | :24:09. | :24:11.
bring in players so we could see more new faces at the Riverside | :24:12. | :24:14.
feeling the pressure after his side went down to a late goal at | :24:15. | :24:18.
Cheltenham. Koby Arthur strtck in injury time to take all thrde points | :24:19. | :24:21.
in a defeat Cooper said was hard to take. Pools still with only one win | :24:22. | :24:25.
And York City aren't doing ` whole lot better ` Nigel Worthington's | :24:26. | :24:29.
side still without a win ` they picked up their fifth draw of the | :24:30. | :24:32.
season against Wycombe. Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth sahd it was | :24:33. | :24:34.
a "terrible game on a terrible pitch". Plans for York's new | :24:35. | :24:37.
ground at Monk's Cross have gone on display at Bootham Crescent today ` | :24:38. | :24:40.
it should be finished by 2006. Thankfully Gateshead gave us | :24:41. | :24:42.
something to cheer about after Jamie Chandler's late goal saw thdm come | :24:43. | :24:45.
from behind to beat Chester 2`1 in the Conference ` they're now 6th in | :24:46. | :24:49.
A window glass. They had to wait a long time for it. Not having to wait | :24:50. | :24:57.
any longer for the weather. `` a win at last. | :24:58. | :25:02.
Autumn is the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, very nhce. Will | :25:03. | :25:10.
it live up to that billing? It should stay fairly quiet with high | :25:11. | :25:13.
pressure dominating things. Thanks to Daniel for that background, with | :25:14. | :25:19.
a mellow shot of Weston Park in Stockton. Overnight, Cloud will tend | :25:20. | :25:26.
to become more broken. Under those clear skies we might see sole mist | :25:27. | :25:30.
patches forming with temper`tures dipping into single figures, as low | :25:31. | :25:36.
as seven Celsius in some pl`ces Tomorrow morning, mist patches Will | :25:37. | :25:44.
Claye quickly. Mostly dry d`y, with good, sunny spells as we he`d | :25:45. | :25:49.
through the morning. It is not going to be unbroken sunshine by `ny | :25:50. | :25:52.
means, but it should stay dry in most places and bright as wdll. A | :25:53. | :25:59.
range of temperatures, the wind fairly light, but averages hn the | :26:00. | :26:06.
mid`teens, come to the west and get some shelter from the breezd, and we | :26:07. | :26:09.
could see high temperatures in Carlisle of 21 Celsius. Somd high | :26:10. | :26:16.
pressure at the start of thd forecast. It is centred over | :26:17. | :26:20.
Scandinavia, dominating the weather over the next few days. Most weather | :26:21. | :26:24.
fronts keeping out of the w`y as far as we are concerned. It is not going | :26:25. | :26:29.
to be unbroken sunshine, but it means that nothing is going to | :26:30. | :26:32.
change quickly over the comhng few days. If you are out and about | :26:33. | :26:37.
tomorrow, Wednesday is very similar. Some cloud around, any breaks in the | :26:38. | :26:44.
cloud allowing temperatures to break 20 Celsius. Towards the end of the | :26:45. | :26:47.
working week, on Thursday and Friday, more of the same. The | :26:48. | :26:51.
breeze, coming from an eastdrly direction. And overnight, those | :26:52. | :26:58.
breaks in the cloud could ghve us some mist and fog to watch out for. | :26:59. | :27:04.
Overall, it is going to be puiet over the next few days. Keep your | :27:05. | :27:11.
September weather pictures coming. That is all that now. Mark will be | :27:12. | :27:18.
monitoring of the football News You can catch that on the late bulletin | :27:19. | :27:20.
at 10:25pm. Go away if you don't me | :27:21. | :28:07.
to speak to you like that! Most schools exclude | :28:08. | :28:09.
disruptive pupils. I ain't putting up | :28:10. | :28:13.
with this any more. But one school takes them in | :28:14. | :28:16.
and promises five GCSEs. | :28:17. | :28:21. |
