North. Firefighters are continuing to

tackle a huge fire at an industrial estate in Leeds. Explosions were

heard at around 2.00am this morning from a chemical packaging and

recycling firm in Armley. People living nearby have been warned to

keep doors and windows closed as a precaution. Kate Bradbrook has the

latest. The use with this seems in the empty

area of Leeds early this morning. People were a book on by the sound

of explosions. The thick smoke could be seen for miles. It was quite a

sight. It engulfed the building on either side. Every time something

exploded you saw a fire ball going up, and the smoker. The fire started

on the Albion business Park at Tradpak, a large supplier of

chemical packaging. At its height, more than 85 firefighters were

tackling the blaze. Luckily, no one was hurt. We have the fire

surrounded. There are 25 firefighters, four fire engines and

hydraulic platform. We are trying to get access into the premises at the

moment. Some surrounding roads were closed and nearby businesses

evacuated, including an nightclub as clouds gathered to watch the events

unfold. Fire crews have saved several nearby businesses, which

should be able to reopen tomorrow. Despite this thick, black smoke

billowing across the skyline, it has been confirmed no toxic chemicals

are involved. Nevertheless, fire crews are expected to be here for

many hours to come. It is of the fire will be fully extinguished

tomorrow. Meanwhile, an investigation into the cause of the

blaze is underway. A man has been arrested after the

bodies of a man and a woman were found at a house in Worksop today.

Neighbours say the arrested man is the son of the couple who died in

what appears to have been a domestic incident. Certainly, police are

saying they are not looking for anybody else in connection with the

deaths. They were called here Saudi `` called here shortly before seven

o'clock this morning. The man they arrested is himself in hospital,

where he is being treated for his injuries. Formal identification is

not expected until tomorrow come when the results of the postmortem

should be known. We've had a busy bank holiday of

sport, and it's not over yet. Leeds United are playing at home to

Nottingham Forest. As we approach half`time, they are already 2`0

down. Matt Derbyshire has scored both goals for Forest, leaving Leeds

with a lot to do in the second half. Elsewhere in the Championship, it

was a bad day for Barnsley whose hopes of avoiding relegation are

fading fast after they lost 2`1 at Derby. Doncaster aren't out of

trouble yet, following their scoreless draw at Millwall. It

finished Sheffield Wednesday two, Charlton three. Huddersfield are

safe, after beating Yeovil 2`1. In League One: it finished:

Rotherham one, Port Vale zero. Swindon one, Bradford zero. Tranmere

zero, Sheffield United zero, ending The Blades slim hopes of making the

play`offs. In League Two, it was: Dagenham

zero, Chesterfield one. York City beat Bury 1`0, which puts the

Minstermen on the brink of reaching the play`offs.

It's not just our football teams that have been busy. In Super League

it finished: Huddersfield 36, Wakefield 16. Leeds go top of the

table after beating Salford 32`4. Wigan 84, Bradford six. In the later

kick`off, Castleford beat Warrington 40`6 and go second.

In cricket, Yorkshire have enjoyed a successful day in the County

Championship at Headingley. Gary Ballance scored 174 as Yorkshire

declared on 459. Then the bowlers let rip ` Jack Brooks and Ryan

Sidebottom doing the damage as Northamptonshire were bowled out for

94. Bad light brought play to an early close.

It is the season of the Easter bunny, but, for one woman in Leeds,

it is not about chocolate, but a case of TLC. Susan Sroka is nursing

a baby hare, known as a leveret, back to health after it was found

abandoned. Michelle Lyons reports. And Easter or, this cute little

leveret was founded Newcastle a little bit worse for wear after

having been attacked in the wild. Its siblings have been killed and

another was nowhere to be seen. The hare preservation trust contact with

and she took a minute. Unfortunately, the poor little chap

had been rescued from a weasel or a stoked up in Newcastle. They

couldn't keep him for more than a couple of days. I got in touch with

me bid them in a taxi down to Leeds. Susan has been caring for sick hares

four years. She soon set up own centre. I started working in a

wildlife hospital and it took to the hares straightaway. I find them

adorable. During that time I have had a few losses, but, thank elite,

not many. The little leveret is speeding well and will be released

into the wild. He is the 50th hare that Susan has managed to raise.

Rain at first, brighter later tomorrow. It will be a wet morning

tomorrow morning. You can see the cloud piling in from the east in the

last few hours. That sets the scene for this evening and overnight,

chilly and overcast. Further outbreaks of rain. Extensive fog

developing over the tops of the Pennines. So, how dreary start to

the working week, cloudy without reeks of rain. Some of the rain in

the morning could be fairly heavy, especially in central and western

areas. Through the afternoon, clearer skies will come up from the

south. It will brighten up with the risk of one to sharp showers. Top

temperatures coming in at the chilly nine or ten in Scarborough, but

inland we will see house of about 40 degrees. That is the forecast.
