Good evening from Sheffield. News. We

Just five days till the world's greatest cycle race

comes to Yorkshire, we're lhve on the hill that'll present one

We'll find out how people in this city are getting re`dy to

And we'll hear from the Tour's director as he flies

into Leeds`Bradford to take charge of the event.

the biggest question of all is what will the weather be like for the

In five days time, the world's biggest annual sporting event.

The Tour de France gets underway here in Yorkshire.

All week we'll be reporting from around the route.

Tonight we're on Jenkin Road in Sheffield,

the steepest climb of all in the two Yorkshire sections of the r`ce.

The Sheffield cycle school `re making it look pretty easy. Later in

the programme I will be putting Paul through his paces.

First though here in Sheffidld there's concern that

the so`called city of sport isn t making as much of the Tour

It will not be long until the grass verges are packed

This is where the tour will drop down from the hills into Shdffield

and until this weekend, there wasn't much to market.

I drive through Sheffield and say it doesn't look

There is some bunting up in the next village but it looks

so that is when I made a colment on Facebook and where it startdd from.

On the outskirts of Sheffield, it is villagers doing it for themselves.

The further you get to Sheffield city centre,

There are some that are worried that as you get further down

along the route into the city, there is not enough yellow.

The city centre is beginning to look amazingly yellow with

our banners and flags and the French market behind me is coming.

Out on the route in the villages, they are turning yellow

Outside the city, you will need a tent but thdre are

Sheffield is three quarters full for Saturday night.

Sheffield asay they are ready and it is being described

as a once`in`a`lifetime opportunity for business.

The legwork now is to maximhse what the city can get out of the race.

I am joined by one Councillor. Sheffield doesn't seem to h`ve got

behind the sport like everybody else. Sheffield has always been

really excited about the totr. The city is getting more and more yellow

and there is more enthusiast and building. Shouldn't this have been

two weeks ago? In Sheffield city centre, there isn't much gohng on.

This road is the top five places to watch them race and there is no sign

of any bunting. In Leeds and York, it is covered in yellow. In the

city, there is a lot of yellow. This is a residential area and it is up

to the people if they want to cover their house in yellow. We are

talking about the residenti`l places around the city centre. Isn't it the

government's job to impact on the city? We have been doing a lot of

work. Local residents and communities are engaged with us all.

Richard, how much of a challenge is it for Sheffield because it is the

last part of the race? Therd will be 500,000 people turning out on

Sunday. A bit of bunting here wouldn't have gone a mess. That is

better than bunting. They are real people. Sheffield is a great cycling

area. When they come here, they will know about cycling. The economy is

positive in terms of the Totr de France. Sheffield has done `

fantastic job. Alan Little radio station have got cycling have an

instead of football heaven. The man who chose Yorkshire to host the

first two stages has now totched down at Leeds Bradford Airport. Matt

The families of two children who died from carbon

monoxide poisoning in Corfu have taken a step closer to findhng out

A hearing was held today ahdad of the full inquest

into the deaths of six`year`old Bobby and seven`year`old

The coroner has announced the inquest will begin next April.

Just six and seven years old when they died.

Bobby and Christianne Shephdrd from Wakefield had been

on a half term break with their dad, Neil, and his wife, Ruth.

They were overcome by fumes at a faulty boiler

Their parents say they still need answers.

Today, a hearing was held at Wakefield Coroner's court looking

The coroner has promised a full and fearless investigation,

We don't believe any changes have been made to prevent this

from happening again and th`t is our main aim, to seek justice to for

them and to be able to sleep sound at night knowing we have stopped it

Another couple of months isn't going to make a difference.

Today, we had details about some of the witnesses who will bd called

The coroner will be hearing from eyewitnesses, staff from thd hotel,

staff from the holiday firm Thomas Cook and health and safety workers,

Because of the number of witnesses, the inquest is likely to last

It is expected to get underway in April next year.

The Grand Theatre in Leeds is to receive ?650,000

from the city council to allow it to continue operating.

The council is stepping in following funding problems

and a continuing investigathon into alleged fraud at the theatre.

Three people have been arrested and they remain on bail.

The theatre underwent a ?20 million refurbishment in 006,

but Leeds City Council says it now has significant concerns

This community is made up of many different races

and religions but it is the Roma community who are often blaled for

pregnant and I don't think cycling is on the top of my agenda. I will

be watching and taking in the atmosphere and I am excited to be

playing at the arena. It wasn't finished the last time we toured.

How nervous do you both get for something like that? You ard used to

big occasions. You still nervous about Thursday? Nothing will ever be

as terrifying as Strictly Come Dancing so iambic cited for

have to wait and see how wet it will be. It is not often that I take

notice that I will be watchhng it. No pressure.

fine with a small chance of catching a shower. As we had through the

overnight period, issues quhets conditions. `` it is quiet

conditions. As we head into tomorrow, it is a lovely dax to

There will be variable amounts of cloud and it will be that the cloud

thickens to give one or two showers down the Pennine chain. It will feel

quite warm with temperatures around 19 Celsius. That is about average.

That further outlook, Wednesday looks beautiful. Dry and sunny and

very warm. Thursday, there hs more cloud and a bit of a change on

Friday. Some heavy rain on Friday night and the Tour de Francd

weekend, some rain at first and then it is sunshine and scattered
