Thank you. With are back | :00:00. | :00:08.
Good evening and welcome to Look North. | :00:09. | :00:13.
It's been a day to make Yorkshire proud. | :00:14. | :00:17.
It's estimated one million people have lined the streets and lillions | :00:18. | :00:19.
And, as you may have seen, ht ended in dramatic fashion with Mark | :00:20. | :00:36.
But it's still been an incredible day. | :00:37. | :00:52.
Some of the biggest crowds were right here in Harrogatd. | :00:53. | :00:55.
This was the Stray just before the cyclists arrived | :00:56. | :00:57.
Of course it all began in Leeds city centre this morning. | :00:58. | :01:02.
It's estimated a quarter of a million people were thdre. | :01:03. | :01:05.
And Yorkshire provided an incredible back drop for the rest of the race. | :01:06. | :01:08.
Thousands gathered for one of the most gruelling parts | :01:09. | :01:11.
The Raiders rolled out from Leeds and they were met with tens of | :01:12. | :01:58.
thousands of fans. The Raiddrs seemed incredibly relaxed when they | :01:59. | :02:02.
chatted with the Duke and Dtchess of Cambridge before going on their way. | :02:03. | :02:07.
We had to be there because ht might never be here again. It inspires | :02:08. | :02:14.
people to know about differdnt people to know about differdnt | :02:15. | :02:19.
cultures and things. Everyone is astounded. It is incredible. Is blue | :02:20. | :02:25.
and the sun is shining and stop it is fabulous. We have come from | :02:26. | :02:29.
Somerset to watch it. We have had great weekend. I would like to race. | :02:30. | :02:37.
But it is only men racing in the Tour de France. What did thdy make | :02:38. | :02:48.
of it in Skipton? What a wonderful day it has been here. They reckon | :02:49. | :02:53.
20,000 or so people lined the route through the town 's streets. We were | :02:54. | :02:59.
here at seven o'clock this lorning. We have had six hours for the bid | :03:00. | :03:03.
has been fun. Seeing the Rahders go past, it was really good. It came to | :03:04. | :03:13.
Skipton and it was all over in 0 seconds. Fantastic. Exciting. It | :03:14. | :03:21.
will not happen again. Fant`stic. Lovely. It was worth the waht. Thank | :03:22. | :03:28.
you very much. It does not get better than this. It has bedn a | :03:29. | :03:38.
massive event for our cities. But the towns and villages have seen a | :03:39. | :03:43.
special time as well. They `re all getting very excited here. | :03:44. | :03:48.
One of those was West Tanfidld near Ripon, which not only had the | :03:49. | :03:52.
The church bells rang this lorning to attempt a day not like any other | :03:53. | :04:06.
in this village. 12,000 people descended on this village. They came | :04:07. | :04:10.
to watch a cycle race was that they did not know that they would also | :04:11. | :04:18.
get a surprise royal visit. Prince William, Prince Harry and K`te | :04:19. | :04:24.
arrived by helicopter. They went around to meet people and tried the | :04:25. | :04:31.
local ale. There was a spechal yellow T`shirt for Prince Gdorge. It | :04:32. | :04:38.
has taken one year to prepare. The memories will last much longer. Mark | :04:39. | :04:54.
Cavendish, what a terrible dnd for him? We are waiting for news for the | :04:55. | :05:02.
pew went for an x`ray. It w`s the most dramatic finish. It all looked | :05:03. | :05:10.
to be going so well. It looked to be set up for him. He hit the ground | :05:11. | :05:19.
hard. The reactions of the crowd were so loud. I waited for him at | :05:20. | :05:31.
his coach. It looked like a broken collarbone. His daughter was waiting | :05:32. | :05:34.
for him with a yellow flower. It was awful. He went away for an x`ray in | :05:35. | :05:42.
an ambulance. Let us not forget that Yorkshire is the other bit of the | :05:43. | :05:52.
story and it was fantastic. We are grateful for everyone who ttrned out | :05:53. | :05:56.
to supporters. It is a sign of the towns of British Cycling and where | :05:57. | :06:00.
it has got to. Yorkshire deserves it special mention because the way the | :06:01. | :06:05.
communities have come together to celebrate this race and givd us such | :06:06. | :06:09.
a warm welcome has been amazing We are privileged to be part of it | :06:10. | :06:15.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been travelling around Yorkshire | :06:16. | :06:17.
Some spectators hoping to travel to Harrogate faced severe delaxs | :06:18. | :06:21.
at Leeds station earlier thhs afternoon. | :06:22. | :06:27.
And if you're going to stage 2 tomorrow, | :06:28. | :06:30.
your BBC local radio station has extra travel bulletins and `ll the | :06:31. | :06:33.
And don't forget there's a special edition of Look North | :06:34. | :06:42.
tomorrow looking back at thd Tour De France weekend. | :06:43. | :06:48.
Good evening. The weather for tomorrow, if a morning, dry and | :06:49. | :07:11.
bright with sunshine. The rhsk of showers through the afternoon. Some | :07:12. | :07:19.
of those could be sundry in nature. It will remain dry overnight. We | :07:20. | :07:27.
have clear skies. Temperatures down to eight Celsius. We could not have | :07:28. | :07:35.
made this up. Mark Cavendish at the end, a dramatic end to the first | :07:36. | :07:39.
day. We have it all to do again tomorrow. York to Sheffield. We are | :07:40. | :07:45.
all excited. We received tolorrow night. Good evening. | :07:46. | :08:17.
Hello, I'm Jason Manford, and welcome to Super Saturday. | :08:18. | :08:32.
Each week, we put our teams through some ridiculously tough trials | :08:33. | :08:36.
Our team of brave ne'er-do-wells will feel pain like never before. | :08:37. | :08:40.
More agony than the searing pain you get | :08:41. | :08:43.
when you stand on an upturned plug in the middle of the night, | :08:44. | :08:48.
than trying to stick a straw in a Capri Sun. | :08:49. | :08:51. |
