highlight what they claim is excessive policing at Barton Moss.

a site where test drilling hs taking place for shale gas.

They're not going to take away our legal right to protest. We will come

in our numbers to show them that there is major concern.

Greater Manchester Police s`id today:

I don't feel that they have looked at all in any shape or form at the

balance of our rights to protest with the rights of the landowner.

Greater Manchester Police s`id that any allegation found to be true

would be acted on, but they would also take action against anx person

making false accusations. The Court of Appeal will decide if protesters

can stay at the Barton Moss camp. Until then, contact with thd police

is likely to continue. Manchester Central Library has

reopened to the public after a 50 million refurbishment. The hconic

building on St Peter's Square closed in 2010 and over a million books

were sent into storage in the Cheshire salt mines.

I have been waiting for thrde years for this, it is fantastic. H love

that it is open again, becatse I used to use it a lot when I was a

student in Manchester, and ht feels like a long time since I have been

able to come in here. The Grade II listed building has

restored heritage features, such as the reading room, along with a

digital media lounge. Previously, only 32% of the building was open to

the public, but now people will get to enjoy a massive 70% of it.

We will have over two million people coming to visit Manchester, so it

will be brilliant for the economy of Manchester, but also for Manchester

residents to come and learn about the history and have a good time at
