Good evening. A nurse from Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport has been

charged with murdering thred patients. Victorino Chua, who

appeared before Manchester City Magistrates' Court earlier today, is

also accused of more than 30 other offences including attempted

poisoning. A prison van brought 48`year`old

Victorino Chua to court this morning. He's been on bail since he

was initially detained in e`rly 2012. Mr Chua was re`arrestdd at his

home in Stockport yesterday morning. He's accused of murdering three

people ` Tracey Arden, Alfrdd Weaver and Arnold Lancaster. He also faces

31 other charges, which include attempting to administer pohson and

attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. All the alleged

offences took place between June 2011 and January 2012, when saline

drips were contaminated with insulin at Stepping Hill. Mr Chua w`s

remanded in custody to appe`r at Manchester Crown Court on Ttesday.

In a statement, Assistant Chief Constable, Steve Heyward told us:

"Our thoughts continue to bd with those people who were delibdrately

poisoned, and their families". Managers here at Stepping Hhll

Hospital say that staff havd shown great professionalism throughout the

police investigation. The hospital says it has worked closely with

police and will continue to provide whatever support is necessary.

A 52`year old man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death

of a woman in Merseyside. 43`year`old Shirley Mercer was found

by paramedics at an address on Tewitt Hall Close yesterday morning.

She was taken to hospital btt died a short time later. A postmortem

examination revealed she didd of multiple stab wounds.

The family and friends of a 20`year`old man who's vanished in

Cumbria have joined forces with police in the search for hil.

Matthew Jordan, from Middlesbrough, had been visiting

Bowness area in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police sax his

disappearance is totally out of character and are asking anxone with

information to contact them. Police are appealing for witnesses

after a ten`year`old boy was hit by a horsebox on Bolton Road in Bury.

It happened near to the junction of Buckingham Road at around 4.30pm

yesterday. The crash left the boy trapped underneath the vehicle for

around 20 minutes before fire crews managed to release him. He remains

in hospital with a serious leg injury.

Two people arrested in conndction with the death of a 13 month`old

baby boy in Preston last Saturday have been released on bail pending

further enquiries. Emergencx services were called to reports that

the child wasn't breathing, at an address on Church Street. Hd died
