Bobby Zamora. Promotion to the Premier League is estimated to | :00:00. | :00:12.
A walk in memory of murdered Middleton Fusilier Lee Rigby has | :00:13. | :00:16.
taken place in Manchester City Centre. Hundreds of people took part | :00:17. | :00:20.
in the walk from Piccadilly Gardens to the Town Hall. It was organised | :00:21. | :00:24.
to mark the first anniversary of his death, which happened this week. | :00:25. | :00:29.
Roy Taylor loves the outdoors but since being diagnosed with motor | :00:30. | :00:32.
neurone disease and increasingly confined to a wheelchair, he's found | :00:33. | :00:35.
out how inaccessible parts of the countryside are to disabled people. | :00:36. | :00:41.
Today he began the Trans Pennine trail in Southport to highlight the | :00:42. | :00:46.
issue. Stuart Pollitt reports. With more than 200 miles ahead, the | :00:47. | :00:49.
Trans Pennine trail is a tough challenge for any walker. But how | :00:50. | :00:54.
hard is it for those in wheelchairs? Roy Taylor's about to find out over | :00:55. | :00:58.
the next week. In September last year, I was diagnosed with motor | :00:59. | :01:01.
neurone disease. Suddenly you go from an able`bodied person who loves | :01:02. | :01:05.
the outdoors to someone sat in a wheelchair. And what you discover, | :01:06. | :01:09.
straightaway, is all the routes and places that were accessible to you | :01:10. | :01:14.
yesterday are not today. We do not know what we are going to find | :01:15. | :01:17.
because we have probably recced a third of it. Just a few miles into | :01:18. | :01:21.
the trail is this footpath. It might seem quite narrow but Roy says his | :01:22. | :01:25.
four`wheel drive wheelchair can get through here. The problem is getting | :01:26. | :01:33.
to it. No, not going through that. I just cannot physically get onto it. | :01:34. | :01:37.
It is the access points, the entry points on the footpaths, which | :01:38. | :01:43.
prevent access into the countryside. The Trans Pennine Trail central | :01:44. | :01:46.
office says it wants to remove access barriers like this but has no | :01:47. | :01:49.
power to force local authorities to do so. All we are campaigning for is | :01:50. | :01:55.
for the man`made obstructions to be made user`friendly for the disabled | :01:56. | :01:57.
people, whether it means self`closing gates or gates that | :01:58. | :02:06.
need a radar key. In the meantime, Roy hopes that his efforts will | :02:07. | :02:10.
improve this trail and others for those that follow in his tracks. | :02:11. | :02:13.

Villagers in St Michael's on Wyre in Lancashire will mark the 30th | :02:19. | :02:21.
anniversary of the Abbeystead disaster this weekend with a special | :02:22. | :02:24.
church service. Tomorrow, people will gather in the parish church and | :02:25. | :02:28.
light candles to recall the 16 victims who died following the | :02:29. | :02:30.
explosion at the water pumping station in 1984. | :02:31. | :02:36.
UKIP will be hoping to add to the one MEP they already have when the | :02:37. | :02:39.
votes for the European Parliament are counted tomorrow. The Sunday | :02:40. | :02:43.
Politics programme will look at their success in the local | :02:44. | :02:46.
elections. Bolton elected the first two UKIP councillors in the North | :02:47. | :02:49.
West, followed by Oldham and Hyndburn. I think it is a good time | :02:50. | :02:55.
to stand for UKIP. I think the people of the UK would actually like | :02:56. | :03:00.
some change. Join Arif Ansari for the Sunday | :03:01. | :03:03.
Politics tomorrow from 11am here on BBC One. | :03:04. | :03:06.
The first qualifying session of the Isle of Man TT races have just | :03:07. | :03:10.
started. There's a week of practice sessions before the racing week | :03:11. | :03:14.
begins for riders to get used to the mountain course and make the | :03:15. | :03:17.
qualifying times. There are over 40 miles of road which will turn into a | :03:18. | :03:21.
race track for the riders. There are warnings for other road users to | :03:22. | :03:25.
enjoy themselves but ride slowly or the consequences could be fatal. | :03:26. | :03:28.
Well, I would not want the bikers, or any person, to become a file on | :03:29. | :03:32.
my desk over the next two weeks. As I said before, exercise restraint on | :03:33. | :03:36.
the roads. And leave the racing to the professionals. | :03:37. | :03:38.
The former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sold some of | :03:39. | :03:41.
vintage wine collection at auction for ?2.3 million. 1000 bottles of | :03:42. | :03:45.
his personal collection sold at auction in Hong Kong this morning. | :03:46. | :03:50.
The most expensive lot ` a bottle of 1997 Domaine de la Romanee`Conti ` | :03:51. | :03:59.
fetched more than ?93,000. Now, the weather with Mel coles. | :04:00. | :04:04.
After a wet day today, we should see a slight improvement tomorrow. There | :04:05. | :04:09.
will be some dry spells around but also quite a few showers. This is | :04:10. | :04:13.
the journey the rain took earlier today. Working from the South up | :04:14. | :04:16.
towards us in the north`west. There have been some heavy bursts. | :04:17. | :04:19.
Although it has largely cleared away, there are some heavy and | :04:20. | :04:22.
thundery showers behind it but they lose their intensity through the | :04:23. | :04:27.
night. The cloud will mean the temperatures do not drop too far. | :04:28. | :04:31.
Tomorrow morning, a cloudy start and there will be some showers with us | :04:32. | :04:37.
from the word go. They will become more frequent throughout the day and | :04:38. | :04:40.
some could be quite heavy and thundery also. A little bit breezy | :04:41. | :04:43.
tomorrow but temperatures faring that little bit better. There is | :04:44. | :04:46.
still some uncertainty about bank holiday Monday. It does look as | :04:47. | :04:49.
though there will be some dry, bright spells to be had. There is | :04:50. | :04:53.
also the risk of one or two showers. Temperatures doing quite well on | :04:54. | :05:03.
bank holiday Monday. That's it from me. Good night. | :05:04. | :05:14.
The heavens opened for some of us today. As far as tomorrow is | :05:15. | :05:19.
concerned, more of the | :05:20. | :05:20. |
