age and address. The presidhng magistrate told him that matters | :08:29. | :08:31.
with which he is charged so serious they need to be dealt with by a | :08:32. | :08:36.
higher court. She told him he would have to face a preliminary hearing | :08:37. | :08:39.

Warrington and Halton Hospitals Trust has apologised to Viv. | :08:57. | :09:00.
She wants changes to the screening system to makd sure no | :09:01. | :09:03.
Viv Reynolds says she savours every day. | :09:04. | :09:11.
In 2008 she was told that hdr smear test was clear but by 2011 cancer | :09:12. | :09:16.
I was told I had cervical c`ncer. It was a surreal moment of, I `m not | :09:17. | :09:35.
really here listening to thhs because I didn't feel unwell. I felt | :09:36. | :09:42.
fine. I had five weeks of intense chemotherapy and a total of 50 | :09:43. | :09:50.
external radiation beams and three internal radiation beams. | :09:51. | :09:52.
Viv's legal team had the orhginal test reviewed and say their expert | :09:53. | :09:55.
It wasn't a small mistake, ht was a serious error of reading. | :09:56. | :10:05.
Warrington and Halton Hospital Foundation Trust | :10:06. | :10:07.
Viv believes women should be screened but wants that | :10:08. | :10:29.
The people who are trained to look at the slides are holding pdople's | :10:30. | :10:44.
lives in the hands and I don't want another woman to go through the fear | :10:45. | :10:50.
and anguished as I go through on a daily basis. | :10:51. | :10:59.
To discuss this more, we're joined now by Jessica Kirby, | :11:00. | :11:01.
Cancer Research UK's Senior Health Information Manager. | :11:02. | :11:12.
A tragic case. How important is it that women make sure they attend | :11:13. | :11:24.
their smear tests? This test `` this case is tragic. Cervical screening, | :11:25. | :11:30.
although it is not perfect, is an effective way of picking up those | :11:31. | :11:34.
early cell changes that could go on to develop into cervical cancer if | :11:35. | :11:40.
left untreated. It is not a perfect test and it can miss cases of cancer | :11:41. | :11:46.
but it does pick up a lot of women who do have those early changes and | :11:47. | :11:52.
by taking away those abnorm`l cells, it can prevent cervical cancer from | :11:53. | :11:56.
developing in the first place. It is thought cervical screening saves | :11:57. | :12:02.
5000 lives a year in England and it is important to keep going for those | :12:03. | :12:06.
screening appointments becatse it saves lives. There is a 70% success | :12:07. | :12:14.
rate, three in ten thereford don't work. They are tested and l`belled | :12:15. | :12:20.
as clear or not clear and then checked by a second technichan. | :12:21. | :12:23.
Would it not be better if they were not labelled English and me and were | :12:24. | :12:30.
checked clear by two separate sets of eyes? Its walls out any drror | :12:31. | :12:33.
that people might make in thinking that it is clear. `` it rulds out. | :12:34. | :12:43.
Qualities candids are supposed to be as high as they can be. All of the | :12:44. | :12:49.
screeners who look at the s`mples, as to whether they are norm`l or | :12:50. | :12:53.
abnormal, are trained as well as they can be. One of the best ways of | :12:54. | :13:00.
improving the screening programme is to change the test that is tsed in | :13:01. | :13:07.
cervical screening to what hs known as HPV set testing. This is a test | :13:08. | :13:15.
which looks for the cervical cancer. It is used in the programme | :13:16. | :13:20.
and it is used if women havd borderline or mild changes hn their | :13:21. | :13:25.
cells. It is used to find ott whether they need further | :13:26. | :13:30.
investigation. It could makd the whole process more accurate. Thank | :13:31. | :13:48.
you so much. We are out of time Liverpool has been attracting | :13:49. | :13:50.
leaders for its festival of business. Many leaders from far`away | :13:51. | :13:57.
as Shanghai and Bogota have come to Liverpool. Good evening. | :13:58. | :14:09.
We often think about cities as national leaders but cities are | :14:10. | :14:13.
vitally important and today they turned up from around the world | :14:14. | :14:17.
using Liverpool as the stagd to discuss the challenges they face and | :14:18. | :14:24.
the way ahead. A stable of layors on show in Liverpool. Global chty | :14:25. | :14:30.
leaders here to learn a trade. Tash and trade. Alabama, USA, whdre | :14:31. | :14:38.
mayors are more powerful. If you want to get something done, you can | :14:39. | :14:50.
get it done? Absolutely. Whdn it is a multi`Molly `` multi`millhon | :14:51. | :14:58.
dollar deal or a project. It has allowed us to show confidence to | :14:59. | :15:02.
business that when we say something will be done, it will be done. | :15:03. | :15:06.
Government like the account`bility of the mayor. Not being a m`yor has | :15:07. | :15:13.
not stopped Manchester doing anything, including having ` | :15:14. | :15:17.
presence on an international stage. This is what city leaders w`nt, | :15:18. | :15:23.
Liverpool set to exceed the mayor's target of building 5000 new homes. | :15:24. | :15:27.
Joe Anderson says being mayor has given him the influence to get | :15:28. | :15:32.
developers building but whether a mayor or a council leader, they are | :15:33. | :15:37.
united in asking the governlent to excavate powers from Whiteh`ll and | :15:38. | :15:42.
build them up in our big cities One of the things that has held back the | :15:43. | :15:47.
region's economy is decisions were taken in London rather than by the | :15:48. | :15:50.
people that know their areas best. We're putting the powers and also | :15:51. | :15:58.
the money to be able to invdst and make decisions locally. Leaders are | :15:59. | :16:03.
discussing their city's futtre, maybe giving Liverpool some ideas | :16:04. | :16:08.
and maybe taking some away. It is interesting how many of those | :16:09. | :16:12.
leaders face similar challenges whether it is on education, jobs or | :16:13. | :16:17.
transport. I was talking to William Bell, the mayor from Alabam`, who | :16:18. | :16:21.
told me his ancestors came to Liverpool as slaves and will leave | :16:22. | :16:23.
here with four better memorhes. Richard is here now with tonight's | :16:24. | :16:28.
sport and just in case the World Cup wasn't enough, even more excitement | :16:29. | :16:32.
for football fans today. Yes, today is one of those days that | :16:33. | :16:36.
fans from every club have rhnged on the calendar, the day thd new | :16:37. | :16:40.
season's fixtures are published We all have at least a little look, | :16:41. | :16:42.
seeing where our team starts the season and finishes | :16:43. | :16:45.
and usually checking out Boxing Day Well for fans of Burnley, b`ck in | :16:46. | :16:48.
the Premier League, of course it was They have had the promotion party. | :16:49. | :17:11.
Now it is time for them to look ahead. Burnley fans have bedn | :17:12. | :17:15.
looking forward to the Premher League season after promotion more | :17:16. | :17:19.
secure but now the fixtures are out, they can start to get excitdd about | :17:20. | :17:28.
what is ahead. 1`macro home games to Chelsea and Manchester Unitdd. It | :17:29. | :17:38.
As eagerly anticipated as ever. The problem at all. | :17:39. | :18:04.
As eagerly anticipated as ever. The clash of the blues and reds is on | :18:05. | :18:06.
the 27th of September at Anfield. For our newly promoted sides in | :18:07. | :18:26.
League 1, Fleetwood and Rochdale, it is a feature list to savour. | :18:27. | :20:36.
She didn't remarry. It was ` coping strategy. | :20:37. | :20:40.
It's final entry ` a simple photo of her son's headstone. | :20:41. | :20:52.
It shows how they honoured their son. They maybe couldn't face that | :20:53. | :21:00.
he was the younger one and the baby of the family. They were he`rtbroken | :21:01. | :21:02.
by grief. The Gregs' sisters served as nurses | :21:03. | :21:04.
in France, tending the wounded, The Heroes | :21:05. | :21:07.
of Adventure exhibition also tells the tales of the workers who went to | :21:08. | :21:11.
war ` including Edward Coopdr. His loom remained idle for three | :21:12. | :21:14.
years waiting or him to rettrn. We feel connected with the people we | :21:15. | :21:28.
have researched and told thd story in exhibition. It was very hard at | :21:29. | :21:35.
times. A pair of golden wings forever gone, another heart of | :21:36. | :21:41.
England knows distress. The golden wings will carry on and flipped and | :21:42. | :21:50.
pass as they die on. No matter what your status was, it would h`ve | :21:51. | :22:16.
impacted on your life. We are going to show you their work at a wildlife | :22:17. | :22:26.
centre. We will be having the weather from there. | :22:27. | :22:30.
It is a beautiful evening tonight. You can see the flamingos bdhind me, | :22:31. | :22:41.
they are one of the species here. Now they are wanting to movd into | :22:42. | :22:45.
the future and are trying to bring in new animals so visitors have | :22:46. | :22:46.
something to say. It is home to more than 150 species | :22:47. | :23:10.
of birds throughout the year. Some treat it like a Hotel flying in and | :23:11. | :23:14.
out when they want and others are here for the long haul. It hs a | :23:15. | :23:22.
wonderful job. We have a lot to do. It is about conservation and | :23:23. | :23:23.
education. We educate our visiting public. | :23:24. | :23:34.
Steve is the Grounds manager. His job is to make sure the anilals have | :23:35. | :23:39.
what they need and to help endangered birds like this. We are | :23:40. | :23:48.
talking in the 100s worldwide. We have one female sitting on X at the | :23:49. | :23:53.
moment. We are waiting impatiently and hoping they are going to hatch. | :23:54. | :24:00.
He is also playing matchmakdr. These are vulnerable in the wild. It is | :24:01. | :24:05.
important to work on this species and that is why we are lookhng for a | :24:06. | :24:14.
suitable mate. If you thought this place was just home to wonddrful | :24:15. | :24:22.
birds, think again. It has had to think for the future to keep | :24:23. | :24:27.
attracting those visitors. Where are we? We are in the Beaver enclosure. | :24:28. | :24:36.
It is very overgrown. This hs ideal for them. They feel secure `nd will | :24:37. | :24:44.
come out at night and look for favourite timbers. Because of the | :24:45. | :24:52.
industrial activities around water, they are creating dams and new | :24:53. | :24:57.
pools. They become important areas for breeding. The best bit `bout | :24:58. | :25:06.
Steve's job is he gets to lhve on site so he is the first one up and | :25:07. | :25:11.
the last one to go home. Who needs a TV? This is the beautiful vhew that | :25:12. | :25:22.
Steve was talking about. I have run from one side to the other so I am | :25:23. | :25:27.
sorry if I am out of breath. These are the views that we will be taking | :25:28. | :25:33.
into tomorrow as we meet thd manager here. | :25:34. | :25:45.
Let us hope we have good we`ther. Now for the weather. | :25:46. | :25:54.
You also saw from the report in Liverpool, beautiful blue skies over | :25:55. | :26:02.
Merseyside. It is very humid and a lot of cloud cover. Look at these | :26:03. | :26:09.
temperatures. Well in excess of 23 Celsius right across the region | :26:10. | :26:12.
today and we saw high pollen counts as well. For tonight, we will hang | :26:13. | :26:21.
on the blue skies. We have ` wonderful evening to come. There | :26:22. | :26:28.
could be an onshore sea bredze. It was very muggy last night. Still | :26:29. | :26:33.
double temperatures overnight and we are down to 14 Celsius. For | :26:34. | :26:37.
tomorrow, it will be cooler and we start of cloudy. We should start off | :26:38. | :26:44.
mostly dry but we may see some rain not amounting to much because of the | :26:45. | :26:49.
cloud building but we have some breaks in the clouds to allow some | :26:50. | :26:53.
sunshine to breakthrough. You are in for another fine day. It max be not | :26:54. | :27:01.
as warm as today. Look at the temperatures. In the next couple of | :27:02. | :27:10.
days, it is not looking too bad Temperatures will dip away `nd we | :27:11. | :27:18.
will see warm sunshine. I prefer it warmer. I do not like it th`t heart. | :27:19. | :27:27.
Let us leave you with some of the wonderful pictures from the lake in | :27:28. | :27:35.
Lancashire. Beautiful. | :27:36. | :27:37. |
