time for killing another girlfriend. He is a very dangerous man,

especially to women. He has been sentenced to a whole

life tariff and prison for the rest A coroner calls for urgent changes

after mental health professhonals failed to realise this Kend`l

teenager was suicidal. And we are in the Isle

of Man to see the super, A British Olympic star takes on the

route of the Tour de France...in The Parole Board says it regrets

releasing a murderer ` who went on to kill an ex`ghrlfriend

` in the same brutal way he killed Paul O'Hara stabbed businesswoman

Cherylee Shennan in Lancashhre, less than two years

after being allowed out on licence. He'd done the same thing to

a previous girlfriend in 1988. Today

the judge said he would alw`ys be a danger to women and ruled he must

never be released from jail again. Our reporter Mark Edwardson was

at Preston Crown Court. Earlier, I asked him for more

about what happened to Cherxlee Paul O'Hara 's violent past the she

was supportive of him and gdnerous to him, at one point giving him a

job. But she was a victim of his violence. She reported him `nd she

was being seen by two policd officers this year when Paul O'Hara

burst into the house and st`rted to attack all three of them badly

injuring all of them. Despite one of those officers suffering a blow to

the head, they tried to help Cherylee Shennan escape but Paul

O'Hara Cotter in the street. The details are too horrific to go into

but neighbours report that he sat astride her and coldly stabbed her

to death with a knife he had stolen from her kitchen. He is a d`ngerous

man, especially to women. Hd has been sentenced to prison for the

rest of his life, where he should be. This is a horrific case, but not

the first time this man has been convicted of murder. No, he was

convicted of a similar killhng of a girlfriend in 1998. The judge said

he had to take that convicthon into account as well as what he described

as the relentless nature of the attack and all Hannah's intdntion to

kill before handing down th`t sentence. Mark, two police officers

as you alluded to wear injured in this incident. Yes, he admitted to

assaulting and winding thosd police officers. He was sentenced to run

concurrently with the murder sentence.

He came upon them on the back door, I am proud of their comments of the

judge. The bravery that the police displayed as well and trying to

prevent the attack on Cherylee Shennan, they did really well.

The future of Paul O'Hara is life behind bars. Thank you for that

report, Mark Edwardson. The appointment came almost a month

after she attempted an overdose She'd told a school nurse she'd

suffered bulimia since Our chief reporter Dave Guest was

at the inquest. She was a model pupil and t`lented

musician, but Helena Farrell was deeply troubled as a teenagdr and

told teachers she was bulimhc and had dark thoughts. She eventually

hanged herself at the age of 15 This tragedy has changed our lives.

We know it is also affecting many young people and their families in

Kendal. She was a pupil at this school in Cumbria. The assistant

head at the school taught English. In late November of 2012 Eldna told

him she had bulimia and expdrienced dark thoughts, he informed the

school nurse and counsellor. On December the 3rd the teenagdr told

the nurse she had been bulilic since being sexually assaulted on an

overseas exchange visit prior to going to that school. That night she

took an overdose at her homd. On December the 17th, two studdnts will

be assistant headteacher thdy believed to be nowhere is c`rrying

letters that could be suicide notes. She handed over the letters but the

teacher did not open them instead putting them into the school C. The

assistant head said the council had told him to put the letters in the

bin because she was not suicidal. She had her first appointment with

the child mental health teal on January three, the following day she

was dead. The coroner concltded she died as a consequence of her actions

but it was not beyond reasonable doubt what her intention had been.

He said at the time of her death, Cumbria's child services had been

poorly organised, underfunddd and poorly resourced. Speaking `bout the

decision not to open those so`called suicide letters, he said too much

weight was given to a young person's perceived right to privacy.

We hope that he been a's story will inspire professional and

nonprofessional people to rdflect on how we deal with young people and

their emotional distress. The coroner said he would be wrhting to

the Health Trust and the cotnty council, highlighting shortcomings

in this case. Detectives are investigating

This is a report into children who need help and protection,

children waiting for adoption and children who are leaving care.

Overall, Ofsted say Knowslex's children's services are inadequate.

because a lot of the roads will be closed from 530, as early as that on

Thursday changes occur. We cannot tell you exactly what will happen

and when the rain will turn up by Thursday, but we can definitely say

that it will be wet. Even though last night was very chilly, we are

back to a mild night tonight. All things considered, you have late

evening sunshine and although it clouded a little bit this afternoon,

that will melt away, United should be a straightforward affair. Patchy

cloud with longer and cleardr spells, the numbers are verx

important. Temperatures could be around nine Celsius in rural areas.

When you get up tomorrow morning it is another very, very nice to the

start of the day. The best of the weather will be around first thing

as it was before lunchtime today. Temperatures will rise nicely, we

will have a moderate pollen forecast for tomorrow but after lunchtime the
