about upgrading them. A man who stabbed his partndr

and young son to death has launched a court battle to get a share

of the dead woman's money. Paul Chadwick is currently being

held at a secure mental health unit but was allowed out today to

argue his case in court. Our Chief Reporter Dave

Guest has the story. Lisa Clay and her little box Joseph

were stabbed to death in thdir own home in the Lancashire vill`ge of

Bolton`le`Sands in April last year. He was Lisa's partner

of 11 years and Joseph's dad. He admitted manslaughter

on the grounds of diminished responsibility and is currently

detained in a secure unit. But now Chadwick wants to gdt his

hands on the money Lisa left behind. Most of Lisa's money was tidd up

in the house they shared. Chadwick's already entitled to half

of the sale value Now he wants the rest,

plus other cash totalling ?80,0 0. He appeared at the High Court in

Manchester today to stake hhs claim. Lisa's aunt Greta Squires told

the court Chadwick's mental health For the process to continue and the

grieving period never to end is causing significant upset.

consultation and it affects 2.8 million people

in Greater Manchester. So far, 10,000 people have filled

out this form to decide on which hospitals should treat the lost

serious cases of injury or trauma. Hospitals specialising

is nothing new. Across Merseyside and Cheshhre,

if you suffer a major head hnjury, you will be taken to the

Walton Centre which provides neurological care and there's the

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. But in Greater Manchester the plan

is proving controversial thdre are concerns about downgrading

hospitals, travelling furthdr for medical treatment and of cotrse the

cost of implementing the ch`nges. It could be the biggest shake`up

of health care in Greater M`nchester From hospitals to Hindu temples

Healthier Together has been campaigning for change

and it's controversial. Under the proposals, Salford,

Oldham and Manchester Royal Infirmary will automaticallx be

specialist hospitals. It is not about closing A

departments or downgrading them it is about upgrading emergencx care

right across greater Manchester We need that care to be providdd 2 /7

throughout the year. Raising standards and with ht the

chance of survival is a key issue. According to Healthier Together

only a third of hospitals has a consultant

present in A seven days a week. If you go to one hospital, his

chances of survival are thrde times greater than in the least wdll

performing hospital. That is truly shocking and unacceptable and we

know the same variation applies in so many other services.

The next thing I can remembdr is waking up, two or three weeks later.

expertise, working together, we can save even more lives and attract

more people to Greater Manchester. More doctors and nurses to work

here. What about the hospitals th`t are in

specialist, what will they get? They would be able to attract thd best

and most be seen as substandard No, this is about providing greater

care across seven days a wedk. If you come in on Saturday evening or

Sunday or even Monday morning, you will have more chance of seding a

senior doctor and all the evidence shows that if you sure a more senior

doctor you have a better ch`nce of surviving and will get more care.

This consultation, 10,000 pdople have filled it out. Nearly 3 million

could have. It cost ?4 millhon to produce so that means each one of

these cost ?400. That can't be good use of money.

People are still responding to the consultation and it is important

they do. You must be disappointed by the

number of people and the waste of money.

No, lots of people are still responding. Responses are coming and

all the time. It is really hmportant that the GPs who make these

decisions hear what people think. It is our NHS. Thank you for coming

Islamic State in Syria and hn a video last weekend they thrdatened

release, describing him as ` "peaceful and selfless man". Today,

one of his friends has calldd on the Government to do more to help him.

was alive, didn't know what had happened to him, and all of a sudden

We've all heard the expresshon saved by the bell. And for Henry the

border terrier from Cheshird, it couldn't be more true. His owner

Beverley Leonard was horrifhed when Henry disappeared down a rabbit hole

near their home in Prestburx and didn't come back. Four days later,

after all efforts, including those of the fire service had failed,

Beverley remembered the one thing which always gets Henry movhng. And,

as Naomi Cornwell explains, it worked.

Henry is good at getting hilself into scrapes. Last week he was

already recovering from a fhght with a fox when he decided to go on an

underground adventure. In the blink of an eye, he

disappeared from the garden. Panic set in. I knew he had come hnto the

field looking for rabbits. After three days searching, there

was no sign of Henry saw Beverley called on the RSPCA and the Fire

Service. It is hard to find. Because we have

this camera, we thought we could locate it but we couldn't.

Across three fields, it was impossible with so many rabbit

holes. That sparked me off, thinking the only thing he barks that is the
