Welcome to South East Today. I'm Rob Smith. And I'm Polly Evans. | :00:10. | :00:14.
Tonight's top stories. Digging for human remains in a Tunbridge Wells | :00:14. | :00:17.
garden - police investigate the death of a young woman, six decades | :00:17. | :00:25.
They all know the same story of how they heard screaming, how she was | :00:25. | :00:28.
introduced, and how she was disappeared. | :00:28. | :00:31.

Happy birthday to the Turner Contemporary, with half a million | :00:52. | :00:55.
visitors in its first year. But is it all good news? | :00:55. | :00:57.
And, raising a loyal toast, the Sussex students creating a bread- | :00:57. | :01:07.

Good evening. It's a typical suburban house in | :01:11. | :01:14.
Tunbridge Wells, but today Kent Police began a major operation to | :01:14. | :01:18.
dig up the garden in a search for human remains. They're looking for | :01:18. | :01:22.
a young woman who disappeared in the 1950s. Members of a family who | :01:22. | :01:25.
lived in the semi-detached house at the time have told police that a | :01:25. | :01:35.
:01:35. | :01:39. | ||
girl called Laura vanished whilst A large white tent marks the spot | :01:40. | :01:43.
where crime scene investigators from Kent Police are searching for | :01:43. | :01:48.
human remains. Their investigation prompted by information that a | :01:48. | :01:52.
young female was buried here in the 1950s after dying inside the | :01:52. | :01:57.
property. Jenny Baker contacted detectives on behalf of her mother, | :01:57. | :02:03.
who once lived in the semi- detached house. The girl that we | :02:03. | :02:08.
believe is buried in the garden is called Laura. We do not know if | :02:08. | :02:16.
that is a proper name. What has prompted me is that they all know | :02:16. | :02:20.
the same story of how they heard screaming up, how she was | :02:20. | :02:25.
introduced, and how she disappeared as quickly as she was introduced. | :02:25. | :02:30.
It was your aunts and your mother living in the house? Yes. What | :02:30. | :02:37.
happens if nothing is found? nothing is found, things can be | :02:37. | :02:43.
laid to rest, either way. Although it has not been confirmed by the | :02:43. | :02:47.
police, it is claimed the excavations are focusing on a | :02:47. | :02:51.
covered up concrete pond. Jonny Newell says it is all a waste of | :02:51. | :02:58.
time. He also grew up in the house, his father died over 20 years ago. | :02:58. | :03:04.
My father was a decent man, he was my best mate, my friend. It is not | :03:05. | :03:11.
true. When they pick out the whole, they will find there is nothing | :03:11. | :03:15.
there. The family that normally live here have been moved out | :03:16. | :03:18.
temporarily while the work continues. The police have been | :03:18. | :03:22.
keen to stress that they have got nothing to do with the | :03:23. | :03:26.
investigation. Neighbours in the street were informed early this | :03:26. | :03:31.
morning. It was a relief when we got a leaflet through the door, to | :03:31. | :03:36.
say that something happened a long time ago, so it a bit relieved that | :03:36. | :03:40.
they have let us know what is going on. I hope they find whatever they | :03:40. | :03:45.
are looking for, and they can put people at peace. The police say | :03:45. | :03:49.
they did not know how long their search for remains will go on. | :03:49. | :03:54.
Those who informed detectives hope that, either way, it will provide | :03:54. | :04:03.
closure. Flights to and from Gatwick Airport were suspended | :04:03. | :04:06.
today after a passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing | :04:06. | :04:08.
and more than 200 people evacuated from the plane. | :04:08. | :04:11.
Some of the passengers suffered injuries as they leapt down the | :04:11. | :04:14.
emergency chutes, with reports that a crew member was screaming in | :04:14. | :04:22.
The Virgin flight had been bound for Florida when it turned round | :04:23. | :04:31.
because of a technical issue? you can probably see the plane in | :04:31. | :04:37.
the background, with the red tail fin, it has been here since 12:30pm. | :04:37. | :04:44.
It left Gatwick at 10:48am, band for Orlando, and Annalong went off | :04:44. | :04:48.
in the cabin in the cockpit, alerting the captain, the pilot and | :04:48. | :04:52.
his crew that something was not right. The captain decided to turn | :04:52. | :04:58.
back. We are told there was panic on board. Possibly even smoke in | :04:58. | :05:02.
the cabin. When it touched down, there were ambulances and fire | :05:02. | :05:07.
crews alongside the plane, but all passengers were evacuated via the | :05:07. | :05:15.
inflatable slide. The stranded on the runway, less | :05:15. | :05:20.
than two hours into their flight to Orlando, Florida, 229 passengers | :05:20. | :05:26.
from the Virgin plane were back at Gatwick. Four people were injured | :05:26. | :05:31.
as they evacuated the plane using the emergency chute. It sounded | :05:31. | :05:36.
like a lady had got crazy, she was upset, screaming, we could not work | :05:36. | :05:41.
out what she was shouting. As I got closer, it turned out it was one of | :05:41. | :05:47.
the cabin crew, screening for people to get out. Anybody exiting | :05:47. | :05:51.
through the door was panicked. They were throwing themselves out of the | :05:51. | :05:57.
door, rather than going down calmly. People were crashing into each | :05:57. | :06:03.
other. Six fire engines were called as the plane made a safe emergency | :06:03. | :06:07.
landing at 12:30pm. There were reports of a small fire on board, | :06:07. | :06:10.
but Virgin described it as a technical problem. The captain | :06:10. | :06:15.
decided to evacuate the aircraft as a precaution. I have been with the | :06:15. | :06:21.
passengers, clearly, they are a bit traumatised, but equally, they are | :06:21. | :06:25.
grateful to the crew for doing the job they did. Our priority is to | :06:25. | :06:32.
get them on their way again, or get them home. The aircraft is with the | :06:32. | :06:34.
Air Accident Investigation Branch, they will go through the correct | :06:34. | :06:38.
procedures. The second busiest airport in Britain was put to a | :06:38. | :06:43.
standstill for a couple of hours this afternoon. Passengers from | :06:43. | :06:51.
that plane hope to set off to Florida tomorrow. | :06:51. | :06:54.
Tonight, those passengers will either spend the night at home or | :06:54. | :07:04.
:07:04. | :07:05. | ||
be put up in hotels, and they will try again tomorrow morning. | :07:05. | :07:09.
Later, a fourth arrest over the investigation into the shooting in | :07:09. | :07:19.
:07:19. | :07:19. | ||
Gillingham. He broke his leg after falling | :07:19. | :07:24.
through a seller shaft, and while waiting for an operation, he | :07:24. | :07:28.
developed pneumonia and he died. Tonight, his family said they are | :07:28. | :07:32.
disgusted that the owners of the pub were fined just 1 for failing | :07:32. | :07:38.
to report it properly. Pictured at the pub where he fell, | :07:38. | :07:43.
leaving him in hospital and the company that ran the pub Insurance | :07:43. | :07:52.
in 2010 in court. Fined 1 for the health and safety failings. It says | :07:52. | :08:00.
he was worthless. When you think of the friends he had in the village, | :08:00. | :08:07.
he used to do odd jobs for people, and that sort of thing, and the | :08:07. | :08:11.
friends he had, they must be just as devastated as we are, to think | :08:11. | :08:16.
that that life was not worth anything but apart from 1. | :08:16. | :08:20.
district council, which brought the prosecution, said that they were | :08:20. | :08:24.
not informed about what had happened here until he was already | :08:24. | :08:28.
critically ill in hospital. The failure to report the matter | :08:28. | :08:32.
promptly significantly hampered their ability to carry out a | :08:32. | :08:38.
thorough investigation. If that is justice, they have let him down | :08:38. | :08:46.
badly. He was a lovely bloke. He did not deserve to die like that, | :08:46. | :08:54.
at 52. Just really upset. council said magistrates on | :08:54. | :08:59.
sentencing... They too can -- they took into account the partnership | :08:59. | :09:07.
was binned by -- was being wound up. The owners were left devastated by | :09:08. | :09:12.
the death, they treated him like a son. It is his huge loss, he was | :09:12. | :09:19.
part of the village. He was there, he was always there, sitting | :09:19. | :09:24.
outside. The former owners declined to be interviewed, saying they | :09:24. | :09:28.
wanted to put the matter behind them. The pub is now under new | :09:28. | :09:37.
management, unconnected to the case. An investigation is under way into | :09:37. | :09:40.
the death of a patient after surgical clips were left inside her | :09:40. | :09:43.
following an operation at a Sussex hospital. The surgeon involved in | :09:43. | :09:46.
the procedure at the Eastbourne District General Hospital will not | :09:46. | :09:48.
undertake any further operations, pending the outcome of the | :09:48. | :09:50.
investigation. The hospital has offered their sincere apologies to | :09:50. | :09:55.
the woman's family. Friends and family will tonight | :09:55. | :09:58.
hold a candle vigil at the scene where a 19-year-old boy was killed | :09:58. | :10:01.
in Sussex. Connor Saunders was punched during an attack in | :10:01. | :10:10.
Rottingdean on Saturday night. He died later in hospital. A 13-year- | :10:10. | :10:13.
old and two 14-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of murder. | :10:13. | :10:19.
Two remain in custody, the other has been released on bail. | :10:19. | :10:22.
A fourth man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in | :10:22. | :10:24.
Medway in which two men were seriously injured. The incident | :10:24. | :10:27.
happened on Railway Street in Gillingham around 12:30pm on Friday | :10:27. | :10:30.
afternoon. Kent Police have today arrested a man from the Maidstone | :10:30. | :10:38.
area. I understand the police are still looking for a weapon? Yes, it | :10:38. | :10:42.
is thought it was a shotgun, but it has not yet been recovered. It is | :10:42. | :10:48.
thought it was used here on Friday to shoot and seriously injured two | :10:48. | :10:52.
men, they have both since been discharged from hospital. The | :10:52. | :10:57.
police are keen to stress that the firearm -- that firearm incidents | :10:57. | :11:01.
like this are rare. This is not an indiscriminate act. | :11:01. | :11:06.
There was a dispute the day before, we know that this incident is | :11:07. | :11:12.
associated with that. This was specific to the location, not an | :11:12. | :11:16.
indiscriminate act. We are looking for people that we know in relation | :11:16. | :11:19.
to this incident. There have been a number of arrests, | :11:20. | :11:24.
but Kent Police are still looking for people involved? Yes, there | :11:24. | :11:30.
have been four arrests, one man remains in custody. He was arrested | :11:30. | :11:35.
on suspicion of murder, but they are still looking for two men | :11:35. | :11:39.
connected with this dispute that ended in a shooting. The police say | :11:39. | :11:49.
:11:49. | :11:49. | ||
that if they do not hand themselves in, they will hunt them down. | :11:50. | :11:53.
If built, it would be one of the largest new housing developments in | :11:53. | :11:56.
Kent. 6,000 homes planned at the hamlet of Chilmington, near Ashford, | :11:56. | :11:59.
with a new high street, school and shops. Today, a public consultation | :11:59. | :12:00.
began into the controversial development. Opponents saying | :12:00. | :12:03.
there's no need for extra housing and 1,000 acres of farmland would | :12:03. | :12:09.
be destroyed. New homes, new neighbours, a new | :12:09. | :12:15.
community. This is what the development could look like. | :12:15. | :12:21.
village green, a cricket ground... Now, the Emir is fields. We are | :12:21. | :12:25.
trying to create a sustainable community, where people have the | :12:25. | :12:29.
facilities they want within walkable distance. We do not want | :12:29. | :12:35.
to compete with Ashford Town Centre,... Planned for the site, | :12:35. | :12:41.
6000 new homes, alongside four new primary schools and one secondary, | :12:42. | :12:46.
on 1000 acres of farmland, but opponents say this extra housing | :12:46. | :12:52.
alongside other developments is not needed. They have built 6000 houses | :12:52. | :12:59.
since 2000, we have got another 9000 in the pipeline, and another | :12:59. | :13:03.
4300 about to enter. In my view, that means that the local meat has | :13:03. | :13:10.
been more than met. It would be catastrophic, we live in a | :13:10. | :13:19.
beautiful area, this is an ancient hamlet. It will be ruined. With the | :13:19. | :13:22.
South East and half of the country officially in drought, there is | :13:22. | :13:26.
concern about water supplies for thousands of new homes. We know | :13:26. | :13:30.
that companies cannot guarantee supplies, even under present levels | :13:30. | :13:35.
of development, in drought conditions. How will they do it in | :13:35. | :13:40.
the future? South East Water says it can supply what is needed, and | :13:40. | :13:45.
in Ashford today, mixed reaction to the plans. I think if the | :13:45. | :13:49.
facilities are there to support the amount of people that will be | :13:49. | :13:54.
living there, to a good standard, why not? We need the houses. I do | :13:54. | :13:58.
not think Ashford needs it, we have got enough buildings that are not | :13:58. | :14:06.
being used. The consultation for more feedback runs until June. | :14:06. | :14:10.
This is our top story tonight. Police are digging up a rear garden | :14:10. | :14:13.
at house in a suburb of Tunbridge Wells in the search for human | :14:13. | :14:17.
remains. It's believed a young woman may have died in the property | :14:17. | :14:24.
in the 1950s, although no crime was reported at the time. | :14:24. | :14:30.
Also tonight, A Band Of Brothers, how people are mentoring teenagers | :14:30. | :14:34.
in Sussex. And, Queens On Toast, the unusual | :14:34. | :14:44.
jubilee celebration for Her Majesty in Brecht. -- in bread. | :14:44. | :14:47.
It's exactly a year ago that Margate's Turner Contemporary | :14:47. | :14:49.
opened its doors, and the gallery says it's exceeded all expectations. | :14:49. | :14:53.
Having forecast 150,000 visitors, it's had almost half a million. It | :14:53. | :14:55.
claims it's benefited Kent's economy by 13.8 million and | :14:55. | :15:05.
:15:05. | :15:14. | ||
created 128 jobs. But the figures When it opened its doors a year ago, | :15:14. | :15:21.
it had become one of the leading art galleries in the country and | :15:21. | :15:27.
degenerated Margate. It seems they have done both. We have got Turner | :15:27. | :15:31.
and the elements, that signifiers that we are the driver and the | :15:31. | :15:38.
catalyst. The town is also changing. Businesses are opening, there are | :15:38. | :15:42.
more jobs created on the back of could -- on the back of Turner | :15:42. | :15:46.
Contemporary. It is a slow process, it takes a long time to change | :15:46. | :15:51.
places, and for transformation to be seen and felt. The Turner say | :15:51. | :15:55.
they have contributed more than 13 million to the local economy, but | :15:55. | :16:00.
more than 7 billion it is giving a monetary value to press coverage, | :16:00. | :16:05.
not really money coming into local shops and businesses. If you look | :16:05. | :16:09.
at what the visitors are spending, a proportion is local economic | :16:10. | :16:13.
impact, the rest comes from money that has been generated in | :16:13. | :16:17.
advertising spending, without people paying for it. It is | :16:17. | :16:22.
fantastic, but it is not new money being spent in the economy. In 2003, | :16:22. | :16:32.
:16:32. | :16:34. | ||
the average tourist spend 7.20. Today, it is around 9.60. But is | :16:34. | :16:38.
that enough to help regenerate the town? A few hundred yards from the | :16:38. | :16:43.
Turner, Cliftonville, one of the most deprived wards in England, | :16:43. | :16:48.
highlighting these huge number of empty shops in Margate. People are | :16:48. | :16:53.
yet to see any discernible economic benefit. I am hoping that the | :16:53. | :16:58.
overspill will creep further this way, rather than just condensing | :16:58. | :17:03.
itself around the turn a centre. is still pretty quiet in the town. | :17:03. | :17:08.
Except for the weekends, when you get the coach loads in the summer. | :17:08. | :17:13.
But the winter is dead. Everything is down at one end. They should | :17:13. | :17:17.
bring something appear as well. It might push people at this end. It | :17:17. | :17:22.
is a better end! Experts say it could be at least 10 years until we | :17:22. | :17:26.
can really assess the Turner Contemporary's impact on the local | :17:26. | :17:36.
:17:36. | :17:36. | ||
Teachers, mechanics and filmmakers are among the people giving some of | :17:36. | :17:38.
their time to mentor troubled youngsters on Brighton's Whitehawk | :17:38. | :17:43.
Estate. It's all part of a special scheme run by Sussex charity A Band | :17:43. | :17:53.
:17:53. | :17:58. | ||
Of Brothers to help young people Growing up on the Whitehawk Estate, | :17:58. | :18:02.
this boy was a troubled young man. Playing truant from school and | :18:02. | :18:07.
getting arrested by the police. have been out of trouble than since | :18:07. | :18:15.
I started my drop. -- my job. Well over 18 months. It is really good. | :18:15. | :18:19.
That is thanks to local charity A Band Of Brothers. Set up to help | :18:19. | :18:24.
young people make the transition to adult had fired the use of an older | :18:24. | :18:30.
mentor. He used to stay in bed until the afternoon, and I offered | :18:30. | :18:34.
him some work, and he would get himself up in the morning. He would | :18:34. | :18:39.
telephone if he was going to be late. He started acting responsibly. | :18:39. | :18:42.
The experience has helped him to secure an apprenticeship as a | :18:42. | :18:48.
mechanic. It is one of many lives the charity is trying to change. | :18:48. | :18:51.
The word reaches right across Sussex, but most of it happens in | :18:51. | :18:59.
East Brighton, and especially here, won the White Cork estate -- on the | :18:59. | :19:02.
Whitehawk Estate. It is not just help the young people, but also | :19:02. | :19:06.
their families, it is having a positive effect on the local | :19:06. | :19:12.
community. There is such a buzz around the estate. People know that | :19:12. | :19:17.
we will not tell them what to do, we are here to help. People have | :19:17. | :19:20.
grown up. Perhaps their father was not there, perhaps they have | :19:20. | :19:25.
watched their father beat up their mother, perhaps they had a parent | :19:25. | :19:30.
who was addicted to alcohol or drugs. By helping them, it is hoped | :19:30. | :19:34.
it will have a positive impact on the community of Brighton's | :19:34. | :19:41.
Whitehawk Estate. After struggling for several seasons, Charlton fans | :19:41. | :19:44.
finally have something to celebrate after the club's promotion back to | :19:44. | :19:46.
the Championship. It was an emotional day for manager Chris | :19:46. | :19:50.
Powell and Addicks fans, whose next target is to see the club back in | :19:50. | :19:58.
the Premier League. Having travelled over 300 miles by | :19:58. | :20:02.
car, train and plane to be there, it was no great surprise that many | :20:02. | :20:07.
of the Charlton supporters - final 50 metres on fought to celebrate | :20:07. | :20:12.
with the players. There was a feeling that the tide had turned. | :20:12. | :20:21.
It has been tough recently. A small step forward in our history. I am | :20:21. | :20:24.
really proud to be the man at the helm. The game will not linger long | :20:24. | :20:32.
in the memory. This call was far from dramatic. But the reaction of | :20:32. | :20:36.
the supporters showed just how important it was. Not so long ago, | :20:36. | :20:40.
Charlton were an established Premier League side. The manager | :20:40. | :20:45.
left, and the slump began. Relegation was hard enough, two | :20:45. | :20:49.
years later, they dropped again, but following three years in League | :20:49. | :20:54.
One, pick are on their way back. Hopefully, we have got the man who | :20:54. | :20:58.
is a true Charlton player, he played for England, a legend for | :20:58. | :21:04.
the club, and hopefully we can move into the Premier League. I think we | :21:04. | :21:09.
will stay in the Championship, and we will get new players, and | :21:09. | :21:14.
possibly work away to the top. revival is a personal triumph for | :21:14. | :21:17.
Chris Powell, one of the most popular and respected figures in | :21:17. | :21:22.
football. Expect another party at the Valley on Saturday if Charlton | :21:22. | :21:31.
clinched the title. Sadly, it wasn't such a successful weekend | :21:31. | :21:34.
for the South East's other clubs. Brighton slumped to their heaviest | :21:34. | :21:38.
league defeat of the season, going down 6-0 at West Ham, a result | :21:38. | :21:40.
which leaves them five points off the promotion play-offs with just | :21:40. | :21:43.
three games remaining. Gillingham failed to make up any ground on the | :21:43. | :21:46.
League Two promotion pack after being held to a goalless draw at | :21:46. | :21:51.
Oxford. The Gills remain four points off the play-off places. | :21:51. | :21:54.
Crawley also picked up a point, at home to Wimbledon, thanks to a | :21:55. | :21:58.
powerful late strike from Gary Alexander, which leaves the Reds in | :21:58. | :22:00.
fourth place, three points off an automatic promotion place. | :22:00. | :22:03.
Many congratulations to the many thousands of runners who took part | :22:03. | :22:06.
in the third Brighton Marathon yesterday. A host of records were | :22:06. | :22:09.
broken in cool but sunny conditions, and around 4 million was raised | :22:09. | :22:19.
:22:19. | :22:20. | ||
for charity. We spoke to dance on Friday, he won more than 200 miles, | :22:20. | :22:25.
and he completed his final Marathon in four and was and 90 minutes. The | :22:25. | :22:35.
:22:35. | :22:39. | ||
bionic man! It is called Queens On Toast. It is a work of art by | :22:39. | :22:43.
students at Sussex Coast College, who have produced hundreds of | :22:43. | :22:48.
images of the Queen as you have never seen her before. | :22:48. | :22:53.
Take one slice of white bread, spread generously with acrylic Inc, | :22:53. | :22:58.
and poppet in the toaster. Three minutes later, you have got the | :22:58. | :23:04.
ingredients for a contemporary work of art. These are just some of the | :23:04. | :23:10.
8300 slices which will make up this installation. It is a British | :23:10. | :23:17.
staple, it is something that everybody wakes up and has. It is | :23:17. | :23:21.
something we got used to seeing it, just as iconic as the Queen's image. | :23:21. | :23:28.
Once you see it, you know what it is. 8254 to go! The Queens On Toast | :23:28. | :23:32.
will cover five walls here in the foyer of the Sussex Coast College | :23:32. | :23:38.
by tomorrow evening. While the artists are leading the project, | :23:38. | :23:43.
the students are giving it. They have been printing and toasting for | :23:43. | :23:49.
2 1/2 weeks. It is soothing. It is quite mind cleansing, to lose | :23:49. | :23:53.
yourself in it! Your hands get burned occasionally, but it is not | :23:53. | :23:58.
bad. It is not as bad as you might think! The project is inspired by | :23:58. | :24:06.
the screen printing of the sixes -- 60s. It is unusual to use it as a | :24:06. | :24:12.
canvas, but it is not the first creation of its sort. Last year, | :24:12. | :24:20.
Nathan produced this. And Emma's Mona Lisa used 160 slices for one | :24:20. | :24:28.
face. This is just one of this artist's dozens of toast creations. | :24:28. | :24:32.
Finished with a good squirt of hairspray, the toast should last | :24:32. | :24:37.
about three years. The hope is the installation will go on tour. Even | :24:37. | :24:44.
if you do not like the look of it, despite the Inc, the nails and all | :24:44. | :24:53.
of that hairspray, the smell of the toast still lingers. This project | :24:53. | :24:57.
is not just about the finished work, is it? | :24:57. | :25:01.
It is all about the students' learning how to put together an | :25:01. | :25:05.
installation of this scale, working together, getting the job done. | :25:05. | :25:10.
That mainly involves making slice after slice of toast, each with the | :25:10. | :25:15.
screen printing of the Queen's face. They want to take it on tour, they | :25:15. | :25:18.
would love to start here in Hastings, but they have also had | :25:18. | :25:22.
some interest from a couple of contemporary galleries in London. | :25:22. | :25:26.
And we are doing our own Jubilee artwork, and we'd like your help. | :25:26. | :25:29.
We are asking you to send in your photos for a huge photo mosaic of | :25:29. | :25:34.
the Queen. We've had hundreds already. Thanks to Frances and John | :25:34. | :25:37.
Pritchett from Eastbourne for submitting the photo of them at the | :25:37. | :25:41.
Queen's Garden Party in 2009. And 88-year-old John Funnell from Dover, | :25:41. | :25:45.
who sent us a great photo of him when he was serving as a Bomber | :25:45. | :25:50.
Command Navigator in 1943. And a very patriotic photo from Dan | :25:50. | :25:52.
Procter form Dartford, showing him and his girlfriend Rebecca | :25:52. | :25:57.
supporting England at Wembley earlier this year. The final | :25:57. | :26:07.
:26:07. | :26:08. | ||
artwork will be on show at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. Dig | :26:08. | :26:18.

Second and third, almost first and second! Weather Wise, which are | :26:31. | :26:41.
about to get stuck in a rut. Until recently, we had high pressure, but | :26:41. | :26:46.
now, low pressure. That means the weather will be very unsettled, and | :26:46. | :26:52.
we will have a fair bit of rain. This is the low pressure from the | :26:52. | :26:58.
north-west, into the country. The weather front brings the rain, and | :26:58. | :27:04.
the low pressure keeps it. A couple of important things. During the | :27:04. | :27:11.
course of Wednesday, the isobars packing, so it should be windy. | :27:11. | :27:16.
Later, they open up, so the showers will become slow-moving, and some | :27:16. | :27:20.
places could get some torrential downpours. As far as this evening | :27:20. | :27:24.
is concerned, we have had a fair bit of cloud, but it has melted | :27:24. | :27:31.
away. For a time, it will be fine and dry. The thicker cloud is not | :27:31. | :27:36.
for a way. For the second part of the night, the cloud will spread | :27:36. | :27:40.
from the West, and around daybreak, it will bring some outbreaks of | :27:40. | :27:48.
rain. It will be a mild tonight. They will not be a frost. Tomorrow | :27:48. | :27:53.
starts dull and wet, heavy rain. That clears for a time around the | :27:53. | :28:00.
middle of the day. Then, blustery showers. The temperatures are not | :28:00. | :28:07. |
