suitable chairman of the Co-op. That is all from the BBC News at six. On | :00:00. | :00:00.
Hello, I'm Sally Taylor. Welcome to South Today. In tonight's | :00:00. | :00:09.
programme... A hospital apologises after an | :00:10. | :00:11.
84`year`old woman is found dead, alone, with her bedside alarm still | :00:12. | :00:20.
sounding. I just cried my eyes out and I could not believe that the | :00:21. | :00:24.
hospital was like that. The widow of this airport catering | :00:25. | :00:27.
worker, who died after falling just a few feet, calls for compulsory | :00:28. | :00:31.
head protection. Off limits at the off`licence ` why | :00:32. | :00:35.
thousands of cans of super`strength alcohol are being taken off the | :00:36. | :00:43.
shelves in Portsmouth. Lots of troublemakers are on the street and | :00:44. | :00:47.
we want to stop that, for the safety of the staff and my neighbours and | :00:48. | :00:49.
customers. And he's a knock`out ` the Hampshire | :00:50. | :00:53.
boxer who's a European Champion at the tender age of 15. | :00:54. | :01:05.
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital has apologised to the family of a woman | :01:06. | :01:10.
who died after phoning her son from her hospital bed to say she couldn't | :01:11. | :01:15.
breathe. When Steve Simpson arrived at his 84`year`old mother Dorothy's | :01:16. | :01:18.
bedside, she was dead and her bedside alarm was still sounding. | :01:19. | :01:24.
The hospital has since admitted to the family that Mrs Simpson should | :01:25. | :01:27.
not have been left alone at any stage. Ena Miller reports. | :01:28. | :01:37.
Her family believe Dorothy Simpson died before her time. I only wish I | :01:38. | :01:44.
had hugged her before her death. I told her she would be fine. I | :01:45. | :01:50.
suppose I regret that. Steve made his usual visit to his mother at the | :01:51. | :01:55.
Royal Bournemouth Hospital but when he got home, she called to say she | :01:56. | :02:01.
could not breathe. I phoned Jim, who was nearest and he got up there and | :02:02. | :02:08.
when he got there, the alarm was bleeping and they were no nurses or | :02:09. | :02:13.
anything. I came up behind him and he said that mum had just died. I | :02:14. | :02:21.
asked where the nurse was and he said there was nobody at all. I went | :02:22. | :02:25.
to get a nurse and she said my mum had died. She said you would not | :02:26. | :02:35.
keep a mask on, so what could she do? The judge said... `` the | :02:36. | :02:45.
hospital said... In a letter, they also apologised | :02:46. | :02:55.
and said they were sorry. We have spoken to the Royal Bournemouth | :02:56. | :02:58.
Hospital and said what they cannot do is talk to us about individual | :02:59. | :03:06.
cases but what they want to do is talk to the family face`to`face to | :03:07. | :03:09.
answer any questions they may have. They also went on to say... | :03:10. | :03:20.
I just cried my eyes out and I could not believe that the Royal | :03:21. | :03:26.
Bournemouth Hospital was like that. They change it all around, the | :03:27. | :03:32.
hospitals. If they traded around like that, perhaps it will be | :03:33. | :03:38.
another one`day. At the moment, it is pretty raw. | :03:39. | :03:41.
The widow of a man who died after falling from a lorry at Gatwick | :03:42. | :03:44.
Airport is calling for compulsory head protection for all workers | :03:45. | :03:48.
involved in loading operations. Mike Miles from Lancing in West Sussex | :03:49. | :03:52.
worked for Gate Gourmet, the world's largest supplier of airline catering | :03:53. | :03:56.
services. He died of head injuries after a fall of just a few feet. | :03:57. | :04:00.
Today, a jury inquest into Mr Miles' death returned a verdict of | :04:01. | :04:04.
accidental death. Laura Trant has been at the inquest. She's in | :04:05. | :04:11.
Horsham tonight. Give us the details. | :04:12. | :04:18.
The jury heard that Mike Miles was on a normal day at work, working on | :04:19. | :04:24.
a loader, which she had been doing for Gate Gourmet for 17 years. He | :04:25. | :04:28.
suffered a fatal accident whilst he was loading a lorry. He felt four | :04:29. | :04:34.
feet, which does not sound like much but he hit the left`hand side of his | :04:35. | :04:38.
head on the tarmac. Six days later, he died in hospital. We heard from a | :04:39. | :04:41.
colleague of Mr Miles... He explained at the time of the | :04:42. | :04:56.
accident that Mr Miles did have type one diabetes but that was not | :04:57. | :05:00.
affecting him on that day. He said he did not actually see anything | :05:01. | :05:04.
that happened before the fall but he did see him fall to the ground. He | :05:05. | :05:09.
said, " I ran to him, cradled his head. I see was the thought it was a | :05:10. | :05:16.
minor accident, I thought he would be off for a feud a." `` for a feud | :05:17. | :05:30.
a. Few days. His wife feels that if he had been wearing protective | :05:31. | :05:38.
headgear, he would be alive today. I feel that if he was wearing safety | :05:39. | :05:42.
protection in the form of head protection, with a rubberised neck | :05:43. | :05:47.
flap, that would have protected him. When he was lifted to the hospital | :05:48. | :05:57.
from Gatwick Airport, the only major injury was an impact on the side of | :05:58. | :06:03.
his head, which caused brain damage and then his death. The Health and | :06:04. | :06:12.
Safety Executive say that Gate Gourmet followed all health and | :06:13. | :06:15.
safety guidelines. The jury concluded Mr Miles died from an | :06:16. | :06:19.
accident. Thank you. Off`licences in Portsmouth are | :06:20. | :06:21.
taking thousands of cans of super`strength lagers and strong | :06:22. | :06:24.
ciders off their shelves as part of a scheme to target heavy drinkers. | :06:25. | :06:27.
It's estimated that alcohol abuse costs the city more than ?70 million | :06:28. | :06:32.
a year. Experts say buying cheap strong larger and cider means you | :06:33. | :06:36.
can get 200 units of alcohol for just ?30. That is equivalent to 20 | :06:37. | :06:43.
bottles of wine. Some businesses say the move will cost them ?300 a day. | :06:44. | :06:47.
Our Health Correspondent, David Fenton, has this exclusive report. | :06:48. | :06:54.
In Portsmouth, they are clearing cheap, high alcohol drinks off the | :06:55. | :06:58.
shelves. We are getting lots of problems with drunken people because | :06:59. | :07:06.
of the heavy alcohol staff, so that is why we want to stop this. This | :07:07. | :07:12.
shop will lose ?300 a day by not selling the strength, `` by not | :07:13. | :07:21.
selling the drink, it is one of 25 businesses. It is about dealing with | :07:22. | :07:29.
the issue as a whole am not just targeting stores and asking them to | :07:30. | :07:38.
rip the product from the shelves. Police are visiting every | :07:39. | :07:43.
off`licence in the area. We have to high rates of alcohol`related liver | :07:44. | :07:46.
disease was up people die earlier in the city because of alcohol than | :07:47. | :07:52.
they would in other parts of the country. Unfortunately, we have | :07:53. | :07:59.
problems to do with anti`social behaviour which is related to | :08:00. | :08:05.
alcohol. Not everyone is in favour of this. It will send the cry `` the | :08:06. | :08:14.
crime rate through the roof, it will be mad. People have restarted | :08:15. | :08:20.
robbing crates of beer. It will be mental. Alcoholism costs Portsmouth | :08:21. | :08:27.
?74 million a year. Many hope that this will help what has become a | :08:28. | :08:31.
major social problem. David joins me now. Surely drink as | :08:32. | :08:38.
will go elsewhere? That will be the issue. Other shops will be selling | :08:39. | :08:43.
this stuff and when you look at the shops at had signed up for it, they | :08:44. | :08:46.
are all small, independently run corner shops. The big supermarkets | :08:47. | :08:51.
have yet to get on board with this. Why do they think this will work? It | :08:52. | :08:56.
is all to do with super`strength lager and cider. It costs 16p per | :08:57. | :09:05.
unit, which is incredibly cheap. If they can get the alcoholics of that, | :09:06. | :09:10.
they feel that it will help improve their condition and keep them out of | :09:11. | :09:16.
the door. We see the effects of these products in hospital all too | :09:17. | :09:19.
often. Individuals who are at the greatest risk of alcohol`related | :09:20. | :09:23.
harm, the ones who are consuming the most, and are starting to suffer the | :09:24. | :09:32.
consequences, they are drinking the drinks that give them the biggest | :09:33. | :09:37.
bang for their buck. They have the highest level of alcohol. There is | :09:38. | :09:41.
one street in Portsmouth, where there are ten drinkers who have | :09:42. | :09:47.
committed 115 different offences. If they can make this work, even for a | :09:48. | :09:51.
few people, it will have a big impact on the community as a whole. | :09:52. | :10:04.
Thank you. Three men have been jailed for a | :10:05. | :10:08.
total of 45 years for a "ruthless and callous" string of robberies | :10:09. | :10:11.
across the South. Stewart Last, from Windsor, and Richard Loveridge and | :10:12. | :10:14.
Andrew Smith, both from Slough, stole ?240,000 from three banks and | :10:15. | :10:17.
robbed a series of shops. A fourth man, Lee Fitzgerald, was cleared of | :10:18. | :10:20.
all charges. Our Home Affairs Correspondent, Alex Forsyth, | :10:21. | :10:21.
reports. A moment of terror caught on | :10:22. | :10:24.
camera. In December two years ago, masked men broke into this carphone | :10:25. | :10:26.
warehouse near Reading, wielding crowbars. It was one of eight string | :10:27. | :10:31.
of robberies across the south, in which thousands of pounds in goods | :10:32. | :10:34.
and cash were stolen. Police first launched and it investigations when | :10:35. | :10:38.
the nationwide building society was robbed here in Hampshire. On a | :10:39. | :10:44.
Friday night two years ago, security guards were refilling a cash machine | :10:45. | :10:47.
when the men smashed their way in with a sledgehammer and stole | :10:48. | :10:52.
?50,000. The local community was shocked by it. It takes years and | :10:53. | :10:59.
months to get back together. There are a lot of tenants here who were | :11:00. | :11:02.
dismayed it had happened in their precinct. Soon after two banks work | :11:03. | :11:08.
robbed. Police again to link the crime is. After a long and complex | :11:09. | :11:12.
investigation, Andrew Smith was jailed for 11 years for conspiracy | :11:13. | :11:17.
to rob. Richard Loveridge and Stewart Last were jailed for 17 | :11:18. | :11:23.
years each, for conspiracy to rob and burgle. The police say these men | :11:24. | :11:30.
were response or for dozens of crimes across the region and made | :11:31. | :11:32.
hundreds of thousands of pounds, which funded a lifestyle including | :11:33. | :11:41.
Rolex watches and Gucci shoes. They were prolific in their nature, | :11:42. | :11:44.
ruthless in the way they carried it out. They often use violence and | :11:45. | :11:48.
weapons. By convicting these resourceful criminals, the impact on | :11:49. | :11:53.
the crimes they would have committed is immeasurable. The judge said | :11:54. | :11:57.
their meticulously planned crimes were motivated by greed and would | :11:58. | :12:01.
have been terrifying experiences for all those who witnessed them. Still | :12:02. | :12:11.
to come in this evening's South Today... It was a long night for our | :12:12. | :12:14.
trasnport correspondent, Paul Clifton. You can see the railway | :12:15. | :12:21.
being dug up here. It is 1am and the tracks between Salisbury and Andover | :12:22. | :12:34.
are being relayed. A 34`year`old man has been arrested | :12:35. | :12:37.
on suspicion of murdering a woman in Worthing. Police were called after | :12:38. | :12:40.
the 50`year`old was found dead in her ground floor flat in Heron | :12:41. | :12:44.
Court. Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have seen a man and | :12:45. | :12:48.
woman arguing in Bedford Row on Monday afternoon. The postmortem | :12:49. | :12:50.
examination took place earlier today. | :12:51. | :12:51.
Formal redundancy notices have been issued today by the Hampshire rubber | :12:52. | :12:54.
manufacturer Polimeri Europa, which announced the closure of its factory | :12:55. | :12:57.
at Hythe near Southampton earlier this month. Trade Union | :12:58. | :12:59.
representatives met with management from the company this morning to try | :13:00. | :13:03.
to save the jobs of the 300 people at the site, including more than 160 | :13:04. | :13:07.
contractors. The GMB union says that talks will continue next week. | :13:08. | :13:13.
As the UK aid for the relief effort in the Phillipines continues to | :13:14. | :13:15.
build, two Portsmouth`based warships are playing a full part in tackling | :13:16. | :13:20.
the humanitarian crisis there. The helicopter carrier HMS Illustrious | :13:21. | :13:23.
is taking on supplies before heading to islands devastated by Typhoon | :13:24. | :13:28.
Haiyan. When she arrives, she'll take over from HMS Daring, whose | :13:29. | :13:31.
crew is already hard at work distributing supplies and helping to | :13:32. | :13:33.
rebuild shattered Filipino communities. Steve Humphrey reports. | :13:34. | :13:45.
The crew of the Portsmouth `based destroyer HMS Daring helping people | :13:46. | :13:49.
in some of the most remote parts of the Philippines which were struck by | :13:50. | :13:58.
Typhoon Haiyan. The sailors have been lending a hand wherever they | :13:59. | :14:02.
can and working closely with local people and with charities. These | :14:03. | :14:08.
guys are going on top of the roof to fix the roof. It is just so they can | :14:09. | :14:16.
have a good, steady roof on the school. Our first task is to clear | :14:17. | :14:24.
this area so kids can start using it again as a school. We are blessed | :14:25. | :14:28.
and happy to have the Navy here to help us rebuild our classrooms. The | :14:29. | :14:35.
ship's helicopter has been indispensable, bringing people and | :14:36. | :14:42.
supplies was up one of the biggest priorities here is restoring | :14:43. | :14:46.
supplies of safe drinking water. There are six wells on the island, | :14:47. | :14:49.
so we need to establish the condition of each of those. We have | :14:50. | :14:55.
brought water testing kits, and we can provide a stable water supply. | :14:56. | :15:10.
It will replace HMS Illustrious. The RAF has also been delivering | :15:11. | :15:16.
supplies. Among the planes was a C 17 cargo plane from Brize Norton, | :15:17. | :15:22.
which delivered heavy equipment. So far, the British public have donated | :15:23. | :15:34.
?35 million to the relief effort. Anti`cuts campaigners have held a | :15:35. | :15:36.
small protest outside Southampton City Council's headquarters. The | :15:37. | :15:41.
demonstration came as Keith Morrell, the leader of the Councillors | :15:42. | :15:44.
Against Cuts Group proposed a motion calling on central government to | :15:45. | :15:47.
stop reducing funding for local councils. The city council has to | :15:48. | :15:51.
save ?20 million in next year's budget. | :15:52. | :15:57.
Now, have a look at this... It covers up to half a mile each night, | :15:58. | :16:01.
digging up old sleepers and replacing the rail track. This giant | :16:02. | :16:06.
train is replacing the line between Salisbury and Andover for the first | :16:07. | :16:11.
time in 50 years. It operates five times faster than conventional gangs | :16:12. | :16:16.
of workers. While it means disruption for late`night | :16:17. | :16:18.
passengers, the alternative would be almost a year of weekend closures. | :16:19. | :16:21.
Our transport correspondent, Paul Clifton, spent the night watching it | :16:22. | :16:27.
in action. It is midnight. It is well below | :16:28. | :16:34.
freezing. The men here are used to that. They work four nights a week. | :16:35. | :16:41.
The British rail network is busier than usual. It is carrying bigger | :16:42. | :16:49.
and heavier trains than before. We need to keep up with that. This is | :16:50. | :16:52.
the most efficient way of doing that. At one third of a mile, this | :16:53. | :16:58.
train is so long that it needs its own railway running along the top, | :16:59. | :17:02.
feeding the machine with new concrete sleepers. The old wooden | :17:03. | :17:07.
ones are dug up and stored. The track bed is scraped, with the new | :17:08. | :17:14.
line being laid and fixed in place. All directly underneath the slowly | :17:15. | :17:19.
moving train. In effect, we have a moving factory building a railway | :17:20. | :17:26.
whilst it runs on it. The Swiss built train, with 80 support crew, | :17:27. | :17:30.
can relay up to half a mile of track each night. That is five times more | :17:31. | :17:35.
than a gang of track workers could achieve in a shift. Doing this the | :17:36. | :17:39.
old way would have meant a whole year of closing the row way every | :17:40. | :17:44.
weekend. This is a track we were worried about. It had a lot of speed | :17:45. | :17:50.
astringents last year, cause a lot of delayed to our customers was not | :17:51. | :17:54.
just here but because trains late going into Waterloo, it causes a lot | :17:55. | :17:58.
of delay around Waterloo. We are really pleased to renew this track. | :17:59. | :18:03.
The last time the whole track was renewed here, the trains look like | :18:04. | :18:08.
this. Since then, bright lines have closed, sidings have been removed, | :18:09. | :18:15.
the work should mean more reliable journeys on this increasingly busy | :18:16. | :18:20.
route. Nearby, Grateley station is deserted. The work means that | :18:21. | :18:24.
late`night services are placed by buses. Working four nights a week, | :18:25. | :18:32.
the train will reach Andover before Christmas and then work in the | :18:33. | :18:36.
opposite direction, getting to Salisbury by the end of January. | :18:37. | :18:51.
He is tired today, I can tell you! You will be tired, listening to the | :18:52. | :19:00.
cricket. The Ashes starts tonight. | :19:01. | :19:04.
We're just over five hours from the start of the Ashes at the Gabba in | :19:05. | :19:07.
Brisbane. The South's three first`class counties are all set to | :19:08. | :19:11.
be represented in the England team. Surrey's Kevin Pietersen will play | :19:12. | :19:14.
his 100th Test, while his county colleague Chris Tremlett has been | :19:15. | :19:17.
tipped for selection as the third seam bowler. Hampshire batsman | :19:18. | :19:20.
Michael Carberry is set to make his second Test appearance. While the | :19:21. | :19:22.
biggest doubt concerns Sussex wicketkeeper Matt Prior, who has | :19:23. | :19:25.
been battling a calf injury. Play gets underway at midnight UK time. | :19:26. | :19:30.
Good luck if you are staying up, tried to watch it all . | :19:31. | :19:36.
It wasn't a good night for England at Wembley, as they went down 1`0 to | :19:37. | :19:39.
Germany. But the Southampton captain Adam Lallana turned in another | :19:40. | :19:42.
performance that caught the eye of England manager Roy Hodgson. Hodgson | :19:43. | :19:45.
called Lallana a "major find", and said that the 25`year`old had played | :19:46. | :19:49.
himself right into contention for a spot on the plane to next year's | :19:50. | :19:52.
World Cup in Brazil. It was only Lallana's second cap last night but | :19:53. | :19:56.
now his sights are firmly fixed on reaching Rio next summer. | :19:57. | :20:00.
It is where I want to be playing week in, week out. It has given me | :20:01. | :20:04.
even more drive to go back to my club and the performing well each | :20:05. | :20:09.
week. I am desperate to be involved in the next squad and get to Brazil. | :20:10. | :20:12.
A teenager from Southampton Boxing Club is celebrating winning a | :20:13. | :20:14.
prestigious gold medal. 15`year`old Ryan Garner took the European Junior | :20:15. | :20:18.
Amateur Title in Russia and now has long`term ambitions of the 2020 | :20:19. | :20:20.
Olympics and ultimately turning professional. | :20:21. | :20:30.
Behind the gloves, Ryan Garner is a determined young man with big plans | :20:31. | :20:35.
for his career. Having lost in the first round last year, winning his | :20:36. | :20:40.
54 kilograms weight division this time demonstrated a huge leap | :20:41. | :20:50.
forward. I won the National 's twice and another jab Egypt once was | :20:51. | :20:54.
nothing is as big as this. I have been to Chev Richards as big as this | :20:55. | :20:59.
and did not get as far. `` championships as big as this. It was | :21:00. | :21:07.
physically demanding, with four bouts in six days. We were all tired | :21:08. | :21:13.
but I knew that if I dug deep, I could be European champion and make | :21:14. | :21:19.
everyone proud. Victory over Ireland's Martin Stokes sealed the | :21:20. | :21:24.
gold medal, a fitting reward for the man who made captain for the England | :21:25. | :21:32.
squad. It brought a smile to my face. We tell him what he needs to | :21:33. | :21:37.
hear rather than what he wants to hear. That is important for a young | :21:38. | :21:41.
lad like that. If he steers clear of injuries, and stays in love with the | :21:42. | :21:50.
game, he knows that he could have a great future in the sport. He is | :21:51. | :21:56.
eligible to join the GB squad, which would make a sweet start to 2014. | :21:57. | :22:02.
Another one whose progress we will keep an eye on. | :22:03. | :22:06.
This week, we're meeting the three finalists hoping to be named the BBC | :22:07. | :22:10.
South Sports Unsung Hero for 2013. Tonight, we feature Penny Jann, team | :22:11. | :22:13.
manager and secretary for a riding club in Surrey. | :22:14. | :22:19.
Just walking for the moment. For three decades, Penny has been the | :22:20. | :22:22.
driving force behind this riding club. I don't know how anyone could | :22:23. | :22:28.
put in that much. She is the glue that holds every thing together. On | :22:29. | :22:32.
top of a full`time job, she devotes endless hours each week, often | :22:33. | :22:35.
staying into the early hours to organise events. She would not have | :22:36. | :22:41.
it any other way. I enjoy seeing them enjoy themselves, it is great | :22:42. | :22:46.
for me when that happens. That team spirit and atmosphere that you get | :22:47. | :22:51.
from that. She is the mother of the club, she gets to know everyone and | :22:52. | :22:55.
she makes it a very happy and enjoyable place to be. Well done, | :22:56. | :23:02.
all of you. She has helped thousands of people, inspiring them to have a | :23:03. | :23:06.
go, no matter their ability. She kept on and on at me about | :23:07. | :23:11.
competing. I kept saying no, I am not a competitor. She persuaded me | :23:12. | :23:16.
to do the pairs competition and, to our surprise, we qualified and won | :23:17. | :23:24.
it! Which, at my age, was wonderful. I have had to retire | :23:25. | :23:28.
because I cannot do any better. Penny's dedication is clear and | :23:29. | :23:31.
arises from a true passion for the sport. I do believe in riding clubs. | :23:32. | :23:36.
It is a wonderful movement was a bit rings people in and gives them a | :23:37. | :23:45.
chance to do things. It may not inspire them to be analytical rider | :23:46. | :23:50.
but they will get on a horse and it gives them an opportunity to do | :23:51. | :23:52.
that. We'll be meeting our third finalist | :23:53. | :23:54.
tomorrow night. And, finally, there was a blow today | :23:55. | :23:57.
for Poole Speedway. Their captain and former world champion Chris | :23:58. | :24:00.
Holder has confirmed he won't be returning to the Pirates for the | :24:01. | :24:03.
2014 season. The Australian suffered a broken femur during a bad crash | :24:04. | :24:07.
last year. He's decided to reduce his commitments around the world as | :24:08. | :24:10.
he returns to action. Holder has tweeted, though, that it's not the | :24:11. | :24:13.
end of his Poole career and promoter Matt Ford says they could call on | :24:14. | :24:17.
him on a short`term basis during 2014. | :24:18. | :24:22.
One bit of news just in. If you are an Oxford United fan, a match has | :24:23. | :24:28.
been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. That is off, I am afraid. | :24:29. | :24:37.
Spare a thought for our colleagues, who will have gone to Gateshead to | :24:38. | :24:41.
bring you commentary and have but a long trip home. Some of the fans | :24:42. | :24:57.
will have gone as well! We had thunder storms right across | :24:58. | :25:03.
the region. We had reports on our Twitter account. All over the | :25:04. | :25:05.
region, we had thunder and hail around midday. Some lovely weather | :25:06. | :25:10.
pictures. Chris Grimmett captured this | :25:11. | :25:13.
tranquil scene on Hightown Common in Ringwood. | :25:14. | :25:14.
Autumn windfall photographed by Ginny Boxall in Chawton in | :25:15. | :25:27.
Hampshire. And who knows what is going on here. | :25:28. | :25:31.
This photo was taken near Setley Pond in the New Forest by Martin | :25:32. | :25:36.
Perry, just as the rain stopped. It will stay cold each day this week | :25:37. | :25:39.
and frost is on the card each night as well. A truly feel to things each | :25:40. | :25:44.
day and night. Through the course of the night, we will see wintry | :25:45. | :25:48.
showers. That may bring the risk of ice, with Tebbit is falling away | :25:49. | :25:54.
towards freezing. The wintry showers will continue over the hills with a | :25:55. | :25:58.
dusting of snow at lower levels, packs a mix of hail and sleet. The | :25:59. | :26:02.
rain showers will continue to the night with lows of 2`3 Celsius and a | :26:03. | :26:07.
north`westerly wind that wind will take the edge off temperatures | :26:08. | :26:10.
tomorrow. The showers will continue, a wintry mix. Some | :26:11. | :26:15.
sunshine on offer and the north easterly wind will take the edge off | :26:16. | :26:20.
that averages. There is a 3`4 degrees drop from what it should be | :26:21. | :26:25.
at this time of year. The showers tomorrow evening will fade away, | :26:26. | :26:28.
with clearing skies. Under those clear skies, Inc sheltered spots, | :26:29. | :26:33.
there may be a touch of frost in the countryside. Temperatures dropped to | :26:34. | :26:41.
2`3d, but freezing into rural spots. The good news is this area of high | :26:42. | :26:45.
pressure continues to build, we will see the wind coming in from the | :26:46. | :26:48.
north`west. There is still a cold field of things but the wind will | :26:49. | :26:52.
gradually ease. You can see the widening of the isobars as we head | :26:53. | :26:56.
through the day. Still the risk of the odd shower, particularly for the | :26:57. | :26:59.
southeastern corner of the country. For the rest of the week, we can | :27:00. | :27:03.
expected a view wintry showers tomorrow, with a keen north`easterly | :27:04. | :27:06.
wind staying with us right through this week. Sunny spells and acquired | :27:07. | :27:11.
a day on Friday, although the wind is strong until the end of the day. | :27:12. | :27:14.
The winds start to ease as we head to the weekend. There is the risk of | :27:15. | :27:21.
a shower Saturday. By Sunday, more cloud and the North wind will make | :27:22. | :27:28.
it feel quite raw in the open. It is very, very cold. We will have | :27:29. | :27:33.
more for you at 8pm and 10:25pm. Thank you for joining us and make | :27:34. | :27:39.
sure you wrap up warm. Thank you for joining us. Good night. | :27:40. | :27:43. |
