Hello, I'm Laura Trant with the news in the south.

Around 350 angry members of a bowls club have taken to the streets this

morning to demand new facilities for their sport. The bowlers in Horsham

say their club will be demolished as part of the council redevelopment

scheme and they are demanding a replacement. Steve Humphrey been in

Horsham for us this morning. Bowlers are well`known for being

cool, calm and collected, but here in Horsham they are getting very

angry and upset because of plans by Horsham district Council to demolish

their existing club facilities as part of wider plans for the

redevelopment of leisure facilities in Broadbridge Heath. With me is

Jeff Kentish from the club, however people getting upset? They are

getting extremely upset, you can see what is happening behind us, it

takes a lot to get bowlers out on a Saturday morning to do that.

Horsham Council have told us in a statement that nothing is cut and

dried over the proposals to redevelop this quarter.

They say they will like at a business plan put forward by the

bowls club. There will be a meeting between the club and the council, we

The government has given ?10,000 to a community trust which is trying to

buy South Parade Pier in Southsea. The pier is currently closed and the

owners have been ordered to carry out work to make it safe. Last week

it was claimed it had been sold but that has not been confirmed. A

community group is still confident it can take over the pier and will

use the government grant to get help with fundraising and building its

community support. We'll have all the football results

the FA Trophy final at Wembley. Players are already up in London

preparing for the biggest game in their club's history. Chairman Mark

Hook says they are now looking much more financially stable, and that

main aim. That said, there's no denying the excitement ahead of

years ago, who would have thought we would have had two promotions, be in

the conference South and now a Wembley appearance? People would
