Hello, I'm Tom Hepworth. You're watching South Today. Good to have | :00:00. | :00:07.
you with us. In the programme tonight: Starved | :00:08. | :00:11.
and defrauded by the son who was meant to be caring for her. | :00:12. | :00:15.
Paul Schmidt is jailed for the wilful neglect of his mother. | :00:16. | :00:23.
It is extremely serious, she weighed just over five stone. Who is to know | :00:24. | :00:29.
what would have happened to her. Pressure continues to grow on Maria | :00:30. | :00:33.
Miller. Show me the way to Wembley. | :00:34. | :00:38.
Celebrations as non`league Sholing become the second side from | :00:39. | :00:41.
Hampshire in a month to reach a Wembley final. | :00:42. | :00:45.
It is history in the making, the first time ever. | :00:46. | :00:47.
He put the pooch in Puccini. We catch up with the opera star dog | :00:48. | :00:51.
after taking his bow wow. Start, neglected and defrauded, | :00:52. | :01:13.
87`year`old Marjorie Schmidt was just five stone when she was found | :01:14. | :01:20.
in her bed. The patient was not able to cut her own toenails which had | :01:21. | :01:24.
culled around her feet. All this happened while she was in her son's | :01:25. | :01:30.
house, supposedly under her care. He was systematically defrauding her of | :01:31. | :01:33.
her pension. This afternoon, he and his partner were sentenced for their | :01:34. | :01:36.
crimes. Sean Killick has this exclusive report. | :01:37. | :01:42.
This is 87`year`old Marjorie Schmidt, a couple of weeks after she | :01:43. | :01:46.
was effectively rescued by West Sussex Social Services. Marjorie was | :01:47. | :01:50.
living with her son at his home in Barnum. His former wife, and their | :01:51. | :01:56.
daughters aged in their 20s, became concerned when he wouldn't let | :01:57. | :01:59.
family or friends see Marjorie. After finally doing so, they were so | :02:00. | :02:02.
alarmed, they dialled 999. The social worker described Marjorie's | :02:03. | :02:05.
condition. She was in bed in her nightclothes, they were soiled. She | :02:06. | :02:12.
was very thin, confused. Her toenails had grown up and over her | :02:13. | :02:15.
feet, and back underneath again, which made it very painful and | :02:16. | :02:18.
uncomfortable for her to walk. It is extremely serious. When she was | :02:19. | :02:23.
weighed, it was just over five stone. If she had been left longer, | :02:24. | :02:28.
who is to know what would have happened. | :02:29. | :02:31.
52`year`old mechanic Paul Schmidt was arrested and charged with wilful | :02:32. | :02:34.
neglect of his mother, and defrauding her of almost ?7,000. | :02:35. | :02:37.
Today, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison. His partner, Amanda | :02:38. | :02:46.
Whelan, 38, was sentenced to nine months, suspended for two years, for | :02:47. | :02:49.
wilful neglect. His former wife Jacqueline said alerting the | :02:50. | :02:52.
authorities had been a hard decision for the family. | :02:53. | :02:54.
It is difficult for my daughters, Joanne and Katie, they were very | :02:55. | :02:57.
upset, obviously, because he is their father. They couldn't believe | :02:58. | :03:03.
their father could do that to his mother. He is their dad at the end | :03:04. | :03:12.
of the day. But it had to be done. They were very brave to come | :03:13. | :03:17.
forward. They were concerned for their elderly relative, horrified by | :03:18. | :03:22.
the way she appeared. The fact they couldn't get in to see her, they | :03:23. | :03:26.
were shocked by that, which is why they reported it. | :03:27. | :03:31.
Judge Charles Kemp said Marjorie Schmidt had been systematically | :03:32. | :03:34.
fleeced, and Paul Schmidt and Amanda Whelan had spent the money on their | :03:35. | :03:37.
own selfish needs, including motorcycle parts and feed for | :03:38. | :03:40.
ponies. While keeping Marjorie in the small, sparsely furnished room, | :03:41. | :03:43.
inadequately fed, often left alone. He said it was difficult to imagine | :03:44. | :03:47.
a more callous way to treat an elderly lady. West Sussex Social | :03:48. | :03:51.
Services say such instances of neglect by close family members are | :03:52. | :03:57.
rare. But they hope this case will encourage anyone concerned about an | :03:58. | :04:00.
elderly relative or friend to contact them. Meanwhile, Marjorie is | :04:01. | :04:04.
now in a care home where she gained two stone within a month of | :04:05. | :04:07.
arriving, and is now said to be happy, healthy and well cared for. | :04:08. | :04:18.
Earlier, I spoke to the chief executive of Age UK Sussex. I asked | :04:19. | :04:24.
how much of this abuse is hidden in the south. | :04:25. | :04:27.
It is larger than we think. When I first came into this job, it was | :04:28. | :04:32.
particularly the financial abuse which was huge, or the potential for | :04:33. | :04:37.
it. So tempting when you are short of money, and you know mum or dad is | :04:38. | :04:42.
sitting on quite a lot, to actually think it is not even a crime, to | :04:43. | :04:48.
take some of their money. I think, particularly around finance, it is | :04:49. | :04:52.
wider than you think. How difficult is it to investigate? This is hard. | :04:53. | :04:59.
The older person will not want to report their own children. Other | :05:00. | :05:02.
people in the family may known `` may not know. Having a relationship | :05:03. | :05:13.
with solicitors or your bank, if there are substantial sums, and if | :05:14. | :05:16.
other people in your family know, they will see any changes. What | :05:17. | :05:23.
signs should they look out for? If you are visiting and people are | :05:24. | :05:28.
reluctant to let UN, try gently to find out why you can't. If that | :05:29. | :05:36.
repeats, I would see that as a sign. If a person's appearance has changed | :05:37. | :05:41.
dramatically. If a person looks worried or is asking you to do | :05:42. | :05:45.
things differently. These are potential signs. You can talk to | :05:46. | :05:51.
social services or a local agency, informally, before you need to do | :05:52. | :05:55.
anything formal. It is always worth doing that. | :05:56. | :06:04.
Definitely has second home. Pressure is mounting on the Culture Secretary | :06:05. | :06:09.
Maria Miller. The comments made exclusively to ask bar from her own | :06:10. | :06:13.
former campaign organiser. Mrs Miller has been embroiled in a row | :06:14. | :06:18.
containing ?90,000 in expenses towards mortgage payments on a house | :06:19. | :06:23.
in Wimbledon. She said she was entitled to because it was her | :06:24. | :06:28.
second home and not the Basingstoke house. The Parliamentary | :06:29. | :06:32.
Commissioner for standards who has conducted an investigation has | :06:33. | :06:35.
judged she should we paid ?45,000 due to changes in her mortgage. The | :06:36. | :06:40.
house of commons Committee on Standards which has the final say | :06:41. | :06:47.
over ethics cut this to ?5,800. There has been more media outrage | :06:48. | :06:51.
over reports Mrs Miller sold the London home for ?1 million profit. | :06:52. | :06:57.
Peter Henley is in her Basingstoke constituency. | :06:58. | :07:04.
It is not just media outrage. As this has unfolded, people in the | :07:05. | :07:07.
constituency feel very strongly. Somewhere where you might expect | :07:08. | :07:12.
support, she doesn't seem to be getting it. Here, in the Bolton Arms | :07:13. | :07:22.
in Old Basing, a village where many vote Conservative, they feel this is | :07:23. | :07:26.
an example of one rule for them and one for everyone else. David Cameron | :07:27. | :07:30.
is under huge pressure to back down from his support for the Culture | :07:31. | :07:33.
Secretary from the media. The new house she has bought in the | :07:34. | :07:35.
constituency but Maria Miller was nowhere to be seen. Her husband came | :07:36. | :07:38.
at briefly to warn off waiting reporters. Press and public outrage | :07:39. | :07:44.
at her second home expenses reached a new height. A former Conservative | :07:45. | :07:49.
aid in Basingstoke added his voice to the criticism. Though he now | :07:50. | :07:54.
works for UKIP but for eight years he won `` he ran her election | :07:55. | :07:59.
campaign. He said the three different rented houses were not her | :08:00. | :08:02.
main homes but that is what she had to put down to claim expenses of | :08:03. | :08:07.
?2000 a month. She would come back once every couple of weeks, on a | :08:08. | :08:15.
Friday, to do a surgery. Then she would go back to London. Her family | :08:16. | :08:20.
and children were there. Her parents stayed a lot of the time there. Her | :08:21. | :08:25.
house in Basingstoke, whenever we had a meeting that, there was no | :08:26. | :08:31.
family. Where many people asking questions? The Conservative Party | :08:32. | :08:37.
claims to have the men in grey suits, the men with the money. They | :08:38. | :08:45.
say, if you wanted to be a counsellor, do it our way. A former | :08:46. | :08:51.
deputy mayor of Basingstoke, Phil Heath was expelled after complaints | :08:52. | :08:54.
were made about him, but now he thinks the electorate deserves | :08:55. | :08:58.
answers. She needs to come back to Basingstoke publicly, not to a | :08:59. | :09:04.
picked audience but to an open audience, and say, I am sorry, this | :09:05. | :09:08.
is why it happened. She needs to explain herself fully. It is clear | :09:09. | :09:15.
as a UKIP supporter, we have to take that with a pinch of salt. But he | :09:16. | :09:20.
was close to Maria Miller for a long time in the Conservative Party. The | :09:21. | :09:26.
Conservatives have issued a statement pointing out that Mrs | :09:27. | :09:30.
Miller has apologised unreservedly, and will be repaying what she says | :09:31. | :09:37.
is an administrative error. Whether she survives the next few days is | :09:38. | :09:42.
whether David Cameron wants to face down the pressure. And not just the | :09:43. | :09:46.
Telegraph. Just look at this from the Sun. A cartoon of Maria Miller | :09:47. | :09:50.
as a Millerpede, when the papers turn you into a vegetable or insect | :09:51. | :10:05.
you know you're in trouble. Whether his opponents can make enough hate | :10:06. | :10:10.
in the local and general elections remains to be seen. The Labour MP | :10:11. | :10:16.
who brought this to a public meeting in Basingstoke tomorrow. | :10:17. | :10:22.
Dorset Police have moved a step closer to solving the mystery of a | :10:23. | :10:28.
body found high up in a tree in Bournemouth. The remains were | :10:29. | :10:31.
discovered 40 feet above the ground, on the Meyrick Park Golf Course. | :10:32. | :10:34.
Officers believe it's the body of a Lithuanian man who vanished three | :10:35. | :10:37.
years ago. But DNA tests are continuing to confirm the | :10:38. | :10:40.
identification. Steve Humphrey has the latest. | :10:41. | :10:41.
Police sealed off part of Meyrick Park Golf Course on Monday after a | :10:42. | :10:44.
dog discovered an arm in the undergrowth. A day later, specialist | :10:45. | :10:47.
search dogs indicated the presence of more human remains, 40 feet above | :10:48. | :10:53.
the ground in a tree. We have specialist recovery teams assessing | :10:54. | :10:57.
the area come to remove the body with dignity and to preserve | :10:58. | :11:01.
evidence. The police believe the body to be that of this man, a | :11:02. | :11:06.
21`year`old Lithuanian. He disappeared from his home in Saint | :11:07. | :11:09.
Peters Road in Bournemouth three years ago. At the time, an appeal | :11:10. | :11:16.
for information was launched. He had told his girlfriend she would not | :11:17. | :11:20.
see him again. Close friends had said in a statement, this code on `` | :11:21. | :11:35.
this: scientific tests are continuing to confirm the | :11:36. | :11:37.
identification of the remains found in the tree. | :11:38. | :11:40.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious. Police | :11:41. | :11:53.
officers investigating a claim of rape say the claim is false. The | :11:54. | :12:03.
16`year`old girl had made the claim for sexual assault. | :12:04. | :12:19.
Still to come in this evening's South Today: We catch up with an | :12:20. | :12:23.
opera star of the canine variety. An elderly cancer patient claims he | :12:24. | :12:32.
was forced to dial 999 from his hospital bed, after staff ignored | :12:33. | :12:35.
his calls for help. Peter Tizzard, who's 73, was at Dorset County | :12:36. | :12:38.
Hospital when he made the call. He said he had experienced severe pain, | :12:39. | :12:41.
and hadn't received assistance in the ward. | :12:42. | :12:59.
An increasing number of businesses in Dorset have agreed to pay their | :13:00. | :13:04.
staff the so`called living wage. It comes, despite warnings from some in | :13:05. | :13:07.
industry that the move would be unaffordable. The hourly rate is | :13:08. | :13:10.
above the nationally set minimum wage enforced by law. Simon Clemison | :13:11. | :13:12.
reports. Government adverts from 15 years ago | :13:13. | :13:19.
may not seem dated, but look closely at the rate the minimum which was | :13:20. | :13:22.
set AT when it was first introduced. `` was set at. Brought in by Labour, | :13:23. | :13:27.
the floor above which almost all workers must be played is now | :13:28. | :13:32.
getting on for double what it was. It is currently more than ?6 for | :13:33. | :13:41.
over`21s. In October, it will rate rise by another 90 pence, an | :13:42. | :13:48.
increase ministers are proud of. Even those who created the original | :13:49. | :13:52.
benchmark think it is a blunt instrument. And they say some | :13:53. | :14:08.
employers couldn't afford more. There are businesses where ?7.65 is | :14:09. | :14:11.
the norm, which is said to better reflect the cost of living. Some | :14:12. | :14:15.
businesses are now choosing to give all staff at least the higher | :14:16. | :14:21.
amount. This property maintenance company based in Dorset says it | :14:22. | :14:24.
wanted to treat its workers well and not drive up its prices as a result. | :14:25. | :14:28.
We are in a difficult market, maintenance, repairs, we need to | :14:29. | :14:31.
compete, but we are confident we can do that and pay the minimum wage to | :14:32. | :14:35.
our employees. Gardeners working for Dorchester Council get the same | :14:36. | :14:38.
deal, but there were fears the commercial world could not afford | :14:39. | :14:41.
the price. An argument campaigners say is familiar. A lot of people say | :14:42. | :14:45.
if the national minimum wage comes in, there will be an absorbent and | :14:46. | :14:48.
job losses. It wasn't true, and it is not true for the living wage. You | :14:49. | :14:52.
can do the right thing. Some businesses are still struggling in | :14:53. | :14:55.
terms of cash flow. Certainly, the situation is improving. Three roads | :14:56. | :15:00.
onto an island. No place in the South has more of a challenge coping | :15:01. | :15:03.
with traffic, than Portsmouth. Today, the city took a significant | :15:04. | :15:06.
step towards tackling its problems. It built the first new motorway | :15:07. | :15:09.
junction in the south, in more than 20 years, and attached to it, | :15:10. | :15:12.
Portsmouth's first park`and`ride scheme. More from our transport | :15:13. | :15:14.
correspondent Paul Clifton. Rush`hour on the busiest road into | :15:15. | :15:18.
Portsmouth. But there is no queue to get in to the new park`and`ride | :15:19. | :15:22.
site. Today is the first weekday it has been open. A handful of | :15:23. | :15:26.
commuters gave it a try. It is ?2, and it is easier to get into | :15:27. | :15:30.
Portsmouth. It can be really hard to park. Parking in the centre of the | :15:31. | :15:33.
city is nigh`on impossible. It is cheap and convenient. It is going to | :15:34. | :15:38.
save me a lot of money and a lot of time. It takes an hour to get out of | :15:39. | :15:44.
the car park in Gun Wharf. This is Portsmouth's only park`and`ride | :15:45. | :15:49.
site. The city has a stronger case for it than places like Winchester | :15:50. | :15:52.
and Salisbury, which have had park`and`ride for years. As an | :15:53. | :15:55.
island, there are only three roads in and out. The city is very densely | :15:56. | :16:01.
populated. To find a site which has the right ingredients to make it | :16:02. | :16:04.
attractive, I think it will be great for economic growth, and prove to be | :16:05. | :16:08.
a really good asset to the city. Tipner is the south's first new | :16:09. | :16:11.
motorway junction since the M3 was built through Twyford Down in the | :16:12. | :16:16.
1990s.. But this was almost built in the 1970s. The bridges for a | :16:17. | :16:22.
roundabout were completed and space left for slip roads. This has been | :16:23. | :16:26.
on the cards for almost half a century. | :16:27. | :16:35.
664 car parking spaces, taking those cars off the roads going into the | :16:36. | :16:41.
city. And it will free the city up a bit. The ground was badly | :16:42. | :16:44.
contaminated. Old military hardware and ships used to be dismantled | :16:45. | :16:48.
here. But soon, work will start on a new housing estate. Britain's newest | :16:49. | :16:51.
motorway junction currently only leads to a car park. Within a few | :16:52. | :16:55.
years, it will lead to 600 homes as well. | :16:56. | :17:13.
Now, it's happened to many of us, you come back from a holiday and | :17:14. | :17:18.
discover a huge mobile phone bill because of data roaming. But, spare | :17:19. | :17:22.
a thought for those living along the Purbeck coast in Dorset. Some have | :17:23. | :17:25.
found their phones switching to a network | :17:26. | :17:31.
Time now for the sport. Some breaking news. There has been an | :17:32. | :17:40.
injury to Rodriguez, the news from Southampton in the last few minutes | :17:41. | :17:46.
is not good, it has been revealed in the last ten minutes, he is likely | :17:47. | :17:52.
to be out to six months after rupturing his anterior cruciate | :17:53. | :17:57.
ligament. It means his World Cup dreams are over. He landed awkwardly | :17:58. | :18:03.
in the first half, when trying to control a high ball. That rules him | :18:04. | :18:08.
out for the rest of the season. The World Cup is gone to him and he is | :18:09. | :18:15.
likely only to be back in October. He had hopes of going to Brazil with | :18:16. | :18:17.
England. He is up to six months. They normally play in front of just | :18:18. | :18:37.
over 100 people in the ninth tier of English football. But now, Sholing | :18:38. | :18:40.
are heading to Wembley! The Wessex League side are through to the FA | :18:41. | :18:43.
Vase final, after beating Eastbourne 4`2 in their semifinal second leg. | :18:44. | :18:46.
Nick Watts scored three minutes from time, to seal the 6`4 aggregate win. | :18:47. | :18:50.
A Wembley appearance will bring a much`needed cash boost for the | :18:51. | :18:53.
Boatmen who will now face West Auckland Town from County Durham in | :18:54. | :19:02.
May. Unbelievable, great stuff. Great second`half comeback by them, | :19:03. | :19:05.
but our lads really dug in, and deserved to get the result. It was | :19:06. | :19:12.
absolutely fantastic. It is history in the making. First time ever. | :19:13. | :19:28.
Now time for a round up of our Football League teams. Can | :19:29. | :19:40.
Bournemouth reach the Championship play`offs? Tommy Elphick put them in | :19:41. | :19:50.
front as Harry Redknapp made his first competitive return to the club | :19:51. | :19:54.
he managed for nine years. QPR equalised just after half`time. | :19:55. | :20:03.
Lewis Grabban scored his 20th goal of the season as they almost | :20:04. | :20:06.
regained the lead, but the chances of victory looked in peril, when | :20:07. | :20:10.
Harry after was sent off. `` when Harry Arter. Four straight wins for | :20:11. | :20:14.
Bournemouth, who have taken 22 points from the last 27. Another big | :20:15. | :20:21.
match for the Cherries tomorrow night when they face Reading at Dean | :20:22. | :20:31.
Court. The team are up against a side who arrived in Dorset unbeaten | :20:32. | :20:35.
in their last six away games. Five of those six have been victories. | :20:36. | :20:38.
Danny Williams with the goal to win at Charlton. | :20:39. | :20:49.
Late Kick Off returns tonight. As well as all the goals and talking | :20:50. | :20:55.
points from our football league clubs, we'll find out why ex`Pompey | :20:56. | :20:58.
defender Arjen De Zeeuw now carries a gun for a living! BBC One. | :20:59. | :21:03.
11.25pm. Britain's sailors have made a | :21:04. | :21:14.
winning start. Helena Lucas has one in the 2.4 metres class. | :21:15. | :21:22.
In their Silver Jubilee year, Basingstoke Bisons, have won their | :21:23. | :21:26.
second piece of silverware. After lifting the Ice Hockey League Cup | :21:27. | :21:30.
last month, the Bison can now add the English Ice Hockey Premier | :21:31. | :21:33.
League title to their trophy cabinet. They beat Manchester | :21:34. | :21:35.
Phoenix 5`3 in the playoff final yesterday. Great scenes of | :21:36. | :21:43.
celebration at the end. The first weekend of the cricket county season | :21:44. | :21:46.
has been decimated because of the weather. | :21:47. | :21:53.
Basingstoke bison, those medals are like buses. `` Bison. | :21:54. | :22:04.
This week, the weather is more settled. A lot of dry weather, more | :22:05. | :22:09.
about that in a second. This picture of a heron was taken in | :22:10. | :22:19.
Bracknell by John Cook. Sue Cowell captured raindrops on a | :22:20. | :22:23.
tulip in her garden in Iping, West Sussex. | :22:24. | :22:25.
And David McLeod took this photo of a pigeon shaking off the rain in | :22:26. | :22:30.
Wokingham. We still have a band of rain making its way east. There | :22:31. | :22:36.
could be some heavy bursts. The rain will eventually clear and it will | :22:37. | :22:41.
turn a lot cooler than last night. Yesterday, it went down to 11 | :22:42. | :22:47.
Celsius which is what temperatures should be during the daytime. | :22:48. | :22:53.
Tonight, down to five Celsius. The winds are changing direction. The | :22:54. | :22:58.
risk of isolated showers. Tomorrow morning, we start on a drying note, | :22:59. | :23:06.
a few showers in the morning. With the winds changing direction, it | :23:07. | :23:10.
will feel fresher than today. Today, 14 Celsius, tomorrow, 12 | :23:11. | :23:18.
degrees. That north`westerly wind will make it feel fresher. Tomorrow | :23:19. | :23:23.
night, a quiet night, high pressure is building in. It will stay | :23:24. | :23:30.
settled. The odd shower is possible. And the risk of mist and fog | :23:31. | :23:34.
patches. Some frost in the countryside. Down to five degrees. A | :23:35. | :23:42.
predominantly dry start to the day on Wednesday. High pressure starts | :23:43. | :23:46.
building even further. The winds stay fairly light. Some cloud | :23:47. | :23:53.
associated with high pressure. Staying with us through Thursday. | :23:54. | :24:00.
Thursday daytime, mainly dry, with this weather front creeping south. | :24:01. | :24:05.
Some drizzle by the end of the day. A fairly quiet week with drier | :24:06. | :24:11.
weather at times. A decent day tomorrow, probably the best day in | :24:12. | :24:16.
terms of sunshine. Increasing cloud through Wednesday with the chance of | :24:17. | :24:20.
a shower. Light rain and cloud on Thursday, sunny spells and scattered | :24:21. | :24:26.
showers on Friday. This week, light winds with overnight frost. | :24:27. | :24:35.
Now, you may remember, we recently reported that the King's Theatre in | :24:36. | :24:40.
Southsea was auditioning for a rather unusual role in the opera, La | :24:41. | :24:43.
Boheme. It was for a small dog. Well, Tex the Jack Russell was | :24:44. | :24:47.
chosen. And last night was his first night. Katy Austin has been to find | :24:48. | :24:54.
out how the pooch got on with Puccini. | :24:55. | :24:56.
It was the night that this dog had his day. | :24:57. | :25:00.
OPERA SINGING. Tex auditioned against other | :25:01. | :25:03.
talented canines to win a part in Puccini's La Boheme. He played the | :25:04. | :25:10.
strong and thankfully silent type, as he stepped into the limelight at | :25:11. | :25:13.
King's Theatre, Southsea. He has been brilliant, absolutely | :25:14. | :25:16.
amazing. I'm so proud of him. He has done so well. He wasn't at all fazed | :25:17. | :25:21.
by any of the music, or the sounds. He was quite happy and wagged his | :25:22. | :25:25.
tail. Waved his paws. He was really good. | :25:26. | :25:30.
Tex is now home after his first opera experience, and it went so | :25:31. | :25:33.
well, his owner is considering entering him for other auditions. | :25:34. | :25:39.
Lynne got the chance to go on stage with her Puccini pooch. | :25:40. | :25:48.
They told us, depending on how good he was, that would be the time we | :25:49. | :25:52.
could stay on stage. If he was happy, they would leave us on stage | :25:53. | :25:56.
for the whole lot of the section we were in. He was fine, so we stayed | :25:57. | :26:01.
for the whole bit. Tex has already been successful in | :26:02. | :26:06.
dog shows. Now, it looks like a new career could beckon. | :26:07. | :26:09.
Tex, do you kill fame has changed you? | :26:10. | :26:10.
Not much, it seems. And he joins us now, along with his | :26:11. | :26:27.
owner. It helps when you have a pocket full of mints! I am really | :26:28. | :26:35.
proud of him. He exceeded all of our expectations. He was really well | :26:36. | :26:41.
behaved last night. And you had to tread the boards, as a chaperone. | :26:42. | :26:47.
Yes, I was the maid. I followed onto the stage. And he was brought back | :26:48. | :26:59.
to me. Can he sing? He hasn't opened his mouth at all during the | :27:00. | :27:06.
performance. He only barks if my other dog sets him off. Did you have | :27:07. | :27:13.
any concerns before the performance? No, because he is really laid back, | :27:14. | :27:20.
he was so good when he came here. He has been amazingly well`behaved. He | :27:21. | :27:25.
loves the camera. He is getting used to this. Are you getting agents | :27:26. | :27:31.
bringing up? Someone suggested he should have an agent, so maybe we | :27:32. | :27:36.
will think about it. And Sandra at the theatre said she would like to | :27:37. | :27:38.
have him back. That's the latest. Thanks for being | :27:39. | :27:42.
there. We will be back with bulletins at 8pm and 10.25pm. Hope | :27:43. | :27:45.
you can join us then. From all the team here, a very good night. | :27:46. | :27:47.
Bye`bye. | :27:48. | :27:49. |
