Hello, you're watching South Today. Thank you for joining us. Coming up | :00:09. | :00:18.
in the programme: Arming more officers with tasers. BBC research | :00:19. | :00:22.
shows their use has doubled here in the South. My generation has grown | :00:23. | :00:28.
up without them. It is not something I've would go for. The parents of a | :00:29. | :00:34.
baby who died on the operating table look for answers to why their son | :00:35. | :00:36.
died. Taking the fight against crime back | :00:37. | :00:43.
through time. But is a police box the way forward for one of our | :00:44. | :00:48.
forces? It is great to have good visibility for the police and it do | :00:49. | :00:54.
something nice for tourists to see. And the man who taught the world to | :00:55. | :00:57.
fly, recognition for the World War One pilot who saved countless lives. | :00:58. | :01:07.
They're being fired more than ever before. The use of tasers by police | :01:08. | :01:13.
has more than doubled with more officers being armed with the weapon | :01:14. | :01:18.
over the last 12 months. An investigation by BBC South also | :01:19. | :01:21.
revealed that last year the weapon, which gives a painful electric | :01:22. | :01:24.
shock, was fired on a 14`year`old girl. They're also being used on pet | :01:25. | :01:28.
animals. Our Home Affairs Correspondent Emma Vardy has this | :01:29. | :01:35.
exclusive report. This is the weapon that was once | :01:36. | :01:39.
only used by a small number of firearms officers. But in the past | :01:40. | :01:46.
year, forces in the South has significantly stepped up the number | :01:47. | :01:50.
of regular police on patrol with tasers every day. I think the tool | :01:51. | :01:55.
is successful and the training is intense. Not everybody wants to use | :01:56. | :02:05.
one passes the training. In 2013, tasers were drawn by officers in the | :02:06. | :02:09.
South nearly 1000 times, more than double the year before. A were fired | :02:10. | :02:14.
on around a fifth of those occasions, up nearly a quarter. Some | :02:15. | :02:20.
forces refused to tell us how many officers are now carrying tasers | :02:21. | :02:24.
each day, but one that did said that in the past year, it has gone from | :02:25. | :02:30.
having 12 officers with tasers every day to around 60. The police say it | :02:31. | :02:34.
has enabled them to deal with violent situations were quickly | :02:35. | :02:37.
without having to call for back`up and that it is keeping the public | :02:38. | :02:41.
and the police themselves more safe. But giving more police tasers | :02:42. | :02:46.
has remained controversial with some campaigners. Last year, Lancashire | :02:47. | :02:52.
police used a taser on this blind man who `` after mistaking his stick | :02:53. | :03:01.
for a sword. A Freedom of Information request by | :03:02. | :03:06.
the programme has revealed that last year, police fired eight taser on a | :03:07. | :03:11.
14`year`old girl who was threatening to self harm with a piece of glass. | :03:12. | :03:16.
This is a young girl with a weapon and the officers made the decision | :03:17. | :03:22.
to deploy the taser to stop her from harming herself or others. On 15 | :03:23. | :03:29.
occasions, officers in the South have used their tasers and dogs, but | :03:30. | :03:35.
please have stressed that in all situations, they look carefully at | :03:36. | :03:41.
the level of threat they are facing. The Association of Chief Police | :03:42. | :03:43.
Offers says officers are individually accountable to the law | :03:44. | :03:47.
for the amount of force that they use. As long as they do not injure | :03:48. | :03:53.
people to badly and it saves a situation from escalating, it should | :03:54. | :03:56.
be used. My generation has grown up without them. It is not something | :03:57. | :04:02.
I've would go for, even a non`lethal weapon. Police say that a taser is | :04:03. | :04:09.
less damaging than a firearm. They hope that by giving more officers | :04:10. | :04:16.
tasters, other methods of force will be reduced. The striker tasers. | :04:17. | :04:26.
`` tasers. What about the health implications? The temporary | :04:27. | :04:32.
pyrolysis `` paralysis is only supposed to last a couple of | :04:33. | :04:35.
seconds, but we have seen some deaths. The use of Kaser was not | :04:36. | :04:43.
directly `` taser was not directly cause as death in some cases, but | :04:44. | :04:48.
still, these weapons have remained controversial, and rubes like | :04:49. | :04:52.
Amnesty International say this could use to them being misused. `` | :04:53. | :04:58.
groups. Are we heading towards police forces with every officer | :04:59. | :05:02.
equipped with a taser? It is up to the individual forces how far they | :05:03. | :05:05.
decide to take this. In some forces, officers were given more taser | :05:06. | :05:11.
because officers were experiencing more assaults, and police officers | :05:12. | :05:15.
were asking to be trained on these weapons. None of our forces said | :05:16. | :05:19.
they would get them to front mine officers, `` front mine officers, | :05:20. | :05:26.
but there has been support for a greater roll`out in Hampshire, so we | :05:27. | :05:34.
could see an increase. He had a condition not compatible | :05:35. | :05:37.
with life, the words of a surgeon giving evidence into the death of an | :05:38. | :05:40.
11`month`old boy who passed away after heart surgery in Southampton. | :05:41. | :05:46.
Today the inquest into the death of Mahir Chowdhury heard that he died | :05:47. | :05:49.
after a surgical stitch blocked his artery. His parents say they were | :05:50. | :05:52.
not fully briefed of the risks. Ben Moore has the story. | :05:53. | :05:57.
Smiling from mother and father just before major heart surgery. Surgery | :05:58. | :06:04.
11`month`old Mahir did not survive. He was born with a serious heart | :06:05. | :06:08.
defect and had only one pumping chamber in his heart instead of two. | :06:09. | :06:13.
A condition that if left untreated would have ended his life much | :06:14. | :06:19.
sooner. Mahir had two operations already here at Southampton general | :06:20. | :06:25.
hospital. Essentially to fix his heart. The coroner heard how he | :06:26. | :06:29.
needed a third because his pulmonary artery had narrowed and was | :06:30. | :06:34.
comparing his breathing. The idea was to create a cube that would | :06:35. | :06:41.
supply his long with enough blood. The court heard that the Mahir had | :06:42. | :06:44.
lived, he would have lived to be a route 20 years old. `` about 20 | :06:45. | :06:52.
years old. But during the operation, Mahir began to glide, and would have | :06:53. | :06:56.
died within two minutes had a stitch not been put in the coronary artery. | :06:57. | :07:04.
That stitch caused a block in the artery and Mahir passed away. His | :07:05. | :07:10.
parents claim they were told there was only a 10% risk of the operation | :07:11. | :07:15.
feeling. The court heard the operation was so rare there was not | :07:16. | :07:19.
the data available to assess properly. A recent report at the | :07:20. | :07:23.
hospital has recommended that parents are now informed of any | :07:24. | :07:28.
risks that could arise from stitching in similar operations. The | :07:29. | :07:34.
inquest continues. Five people who were arrested | :07:35. | :07:37.
following the death of a Hampshire man who drank juice contaminated | :07:38. | :07:40.
with cocaine, have been released without charge. Jeroamy Lewis, who | :07:41. | :07:51.
lived in Gosport, died in December last year, after accidentally | :07:52. | :07:54.
sipping from a bottle that was part of a shipment from the Caribbean. | :07:55. | :07:57.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences but will | :07:58. | :08:00.
now face no further action. The police investigation is continuing. | :08:01. | :08:06.
As pressure grows for Basingstoke MP and Culture Secretary Maria Miller | :08:07. | :08:09.
to resign, the Hampshire Conservative Federation has come | :08:10. | :08:20.
forward to support her. An apology will be published tomorrow in a | :08:21. | :08:27.
newspaper. Meanwhile, a group is supporting her. The group is backing | :08:28. | :08:31.
Mrs Miller and described recent suggestions she has not paid tax | :08:32. | :08:34.
correctly as "ridiculous and groundless" following an | :08:35. | :08:36.
investigation into her expense claims. She's denied trying to avoid | :08:37. | :08:39.
paying capital gains tax on profits from the sale of her London home, | :08:40. | :08:42.
which she had previously designated as her second home. As called for | :08:43. | :08:51.
her to resign were stronger, some colleagues have signaled their | :08:52. | :08:53.
report. Earlier I spoke to our political editor Peter Henley and | :08:54. | :08:57.
asked him if people are beginning to rally round her. As well as that | :08:58. | :09:01.
statement from local Conservatives, where they are saying Maria Miller | :09:02. | :09:06.
will not be resigning, her assistant in Parliament has been speaking on | :09:07. | :09:12.
her behalf, also, the Hampshire MP who said on the day that the report | :09:13. | :09:16.
came out that he supported her has today been quite critical of the | :09:17. | :09:19.
media and says they are not putting her side of the story. It is time | :09:20. | :09:25.
that the media should paint up her consideration to parliamentary | :09:26. | :09:28.
reports rather than seeking to engage in witchhunts. It is fair to | :09:29. | :09:32.
say that the papers are making quite a meal of this because of her role | :09:33. | :09:38.
in press regulation. Today, one newspaper which written a millipedes | :09:39. | :09:43.
cartoon about her mama were outside the house of Parliament with a | :09:44. | :09:46.
publicity stunt for top if anything, this is going to harden the attitude | :09:47. | :09:55.
of David Cameron. There is growing discontent and best regards content | :09:56. | :10:00.
in his party. One MP said that the `` there is growing discontent in | :10:01. | :10:06.
his party. What has been the reaction of her political opponents? | :10:07. | :10:11.
John Manno raised the issue of public anger over expenses. The way | :10:12. | :10:14.
MPs are able to decide over their own rules. He is calling for | :10:15. | :10:21.
recordings of the standards committee to be released. So that | :10:22. | :10:25.
people can see and what basis the committee overturns the views of the | :10:26. | :10:28.
independent commission for standards. Tonight he is going to be | :10:29. | :10:33.
speaking at a public meeting in Basingstoke at the Labour club | :10:34. | :10:37.
there, pointedly saying that because it only takes an hour to go from the | :10:38. | :10:42.
Commons to Basingstoke him and he will not be requiring overnight | :10:43. | :10:45.
accommodation. And Peter is at that meeting in | :10:46. | :10:48.
Basingstoke tonight, and we'll have his report on that in our late news | :10:49. | :10:51.
at 10:25pm tonight. A man has appeared in court charged | :10:52. | :10:54.
with murdering his daughter in Bournemouth. The body of 25`year`old | :10:55. | :10:58.
Kuwaiti student Mushyel Al`Bassman was discovered in a property on St | :10:59. | :11:01.
Michael's Road in the town last month. Her father Faller Garzi | :11:02. | :11:04.
Al`Bassman appeared at Winchester Crown Court this morning. He was | :11:05. | :11:07.
remanded in custody and will appear again at the same court in June. | :11:08. | :11:10.
Still to come in this evening's South Today: Tony Husband is at the | :11:11. | :11:17.
big Championship clash tonight. It is Bournemouth and Reading, all up | :11:18. | :11:22.
for grabs. Playoff races to the one all stop the full preview coming up | :11:23. | :11:29.
shortly. `` to be one. Today, they're probably better known | :11:30. | :11:32.
as TARDISes than police boxes, but now Dorset police have gone back in | :11:33. | :11:36.
time, to give an old idea a new lease of life. A specially built | :11:37. | :11:39.
police box, based on an original design from 1929 was unveiled in | :11:40. | :11:42.
Boscombe this morning. Officers say behind the Dr Who inspired fun, | :11:43. | :11:46.
there's a serious attempt to tackle crime. Briony Leyland reports. | :11:47. | :11:52.
When this police box materialised this morning, the crowd half | :11:53. | :12:00.
expected Dr Who to emerge, but though Time Lords were thin on the | :12:01. | :12:05.
ground, there was no shortage of top brass from Dorset police, keen to | :12:06. | :12:08.
promote the idea of the past inspiring the future of policing, in | :12:09. | :12:12.
an area where street crime is a big issue. What we propose to do is have | :12:13. | :12:17.
a member of staff stood with a police box to engage with the public | :12:18. | :12:22.
and also to deter any localised criminality and also reduce | :12:23. | :12:28.
anti`social behaviour. There was a time when police boxes | :12:29. | :12:32.
were commonplace, providing officers with a telephone to contact base. | :12:33. | :12:37.
Radio is rendered them obsolete, and now most people associate them with | :12:38. | :12:43.
the time travelling parties from Dr Who. This box is sponsored by local | :12:44. | :12:47.
businesses, one of only two operational in the UK. Can it could | :12:48. | :12:51.
still be dual purpose of tourist attraction and policing tool? It | :12:52. | :12:56.
seems like a gimmick, but maybe it will make a difference. It is great | :12:57. | :13:02.
to have good visibility for the police. Something nice for Taurus to | :13:03. | :13:08.
see and a bit of fun. Is it anything like Dr Who's TARDIS? Now! It is big | :13:09. | :13:16.
inside and has a machine inside and it has circles on the wall. Interior | :13:17. | :13:22.
facilities are basic, a shelf, first aid gear, and a telephone on the | :13:23. | :13:26.
door to use at the police are not in. The box's arrival coincides with | :13:27. | :13:32.
controversial proposals to further reduce the number of front desks | :13:33. | :13:36.
open at police stations. Is this the shape of things to come? This is not | :13:37. | :13:41.
the future of Dorset police. This is a quirky phone box. It is here to | :13:42. | :13:47.
make a statement but we will not be bringing these into every town and | :13:48. | :13:53.
Dorset. This is not a solution to front office closures. Dr Who's | :13:54. | :13:56.
TARDIS is not seen in one place for long, but the intention is that this | :13:57. | :13:59.
will become a permanent and popular part of life here. | :14:00. | :14:11.
Interesting idea, isn't it? He was the man who taught to the | :14:12. | :14:16.
world to fly. And tomorrow, Robert Smith`Barry will be remembered in | :14:17. | :14:19.
Gosport, where nearly 100 years ago he devised the first effective | :14:20. | :14:22.
system for training pilots. Along with a flying manual, he also | :14:23. | :14:25.
invented the world's first intercom system, allowing instructors to talk | :14:26. | :14:28.
to trainee pilots. As Steve Humphrey reports, it was called the Gosport | :14:29. | :14:39.
Tube. A century ago, learning to fly was | :14:40. | :14:44.
very dangerous. Out of the 14,000 British privates killed between 1914 | :14:45. | :14:49.
and 1918, 8000 eyed while being trained. This man, Robert | :14:50. | :14:55.
Smith`Barry, revolutionized the training system. And it all happened | :14:56. | :15:00.
right here in Gosport. This used to be the site of the old Range | :15:01. | :15:06.
airfield, and during the first world war, this was the home of a military | :15:07. | :15:11.
flying school. In those days, they wrote the name of the airfield on | :15:12. | :15:16.
the grass in case pilots got lost. Smith`Barry was able to put his | :15:17. | :15:19.
ideas into practice when he was put in charge of a training squadron | :15:20. | :15:24.
here. Pilots were taught how to cope with spins and other potentially | :15:25. | :15:30.
dangerous situations. Instructors were given proper training, took | :15:31. | :15:34.
their airports `` aircraft to the limit, and then they talked the | :15:35. | :15:38.
students to do the exactly the same thing. One of his greatest | :15:39. | :15:43.
contributions to flying with this, the Gosport Tube. It is a very | :15:44. | :15:51.
simple system of rubber tubes which allowed structures `` instructors to | :15:52. | :15:58.
talk to training pilots. But your stick in `` put your stick and... | :15:59. | :16:03.
They started to take the aircraft into the air. You can talk through | :16:04. | :16:11.
the manoeuvre. With dual controlled aircraft, you can let the people | :16:12. | :16:17.
have a go. The runways have been covered in houses, but some of the | :16:18. | :16:20.
old hangars from the airfield are now part of the Navy's training | :16:21. | :16:25.
base, where aircraft maintenance is still being taught. What you see | :16:26. | :16:31.
behind me are young engineering technicians who are going to go out | :16:32. | :16:35.
to the Royal Navy and carry out that flight servicing and basic | :16:36. | :16:39.
maintenance on the front line aircraft of the day. Robert | :16:40. | :16:42.
Smith`Barry did a lot of his writing and research here at this hotel. | :16:43. | :16:47.
Tomorrow, the Gosport aviation society will be holding a special | :16:48. | :16:52.
ceremony, at which a plaque will be unveiled in memory of the man who | :16:53. | :16:59.
taught the world to fly. Fascinating story. And if you've | :17:00. | :17:05.
missed any of our World War One films you can see a selection of | :17:06. | :17:09.
them again on the BBC South Today website. | :17:10. | :17:15.
When a teenage girl in Dorset died suddenly from meningitis earlier | :17:16. | :17:18.
this year, it left her friends and family shocked and devastated. Now | :17:19. | :17:21.
they've joined together to raise funds for research into the deadly | :17:22. | :17:24.
disease. The group will be taking part in a charity run next month in | :17:25. | :17:30.
memory of her. Frankie Peck reports. This girl from Bournemouth was just | :17:31. | :17:34.
16 when she contracted bacterial meningitis. She died in January. At | :17:35. | :17:39.
the weekend, over 20 of her friends and family gathered on the beach. | :17:40. | :17:45.
They are training to take face and a 10K race, where they will be raising | :17:46. | :17:51.
money for a research foundation. After Connie passed, I went home and | :17:52. | :17:55.
decided that I'd did not want to sit at home doing nothing, so I went on | :17:56. | :18:00.
the internet to find event that we could do to help raise awareness. | :18:01. | :18:06.
Hopefully, the more awareness we raise than the less people who will | :18:07. | :18:09.
pass away from the disease. We are doing it as a big rebuff friends | :18:10. | :18:15.
together and we are supporting each other like we supported each other | :18:16. | :18:20.
through everything house. `` as a big group of friends. As many as one | :18:21. | :18:26.
in ten cases prove fatal. There is more to it than just the rash that | :18:27. | :18:32.
people think it's meningitis. Yet the literature. It does not matter | :18:33. | :18:35.
how old you are or what race you are, it does not discriminate and it | :18:36. | :18:42.
kills quickly. Research `` researchers believe they may | :18:43. | :18:47.
eventually eradicate the disease. Onto sport now and there's a crucial | :18:48. | :18:51.
game in the Championship tonight as Reading go to Bournemouth. The | :18:52. | :18:54.
Royals have been red hot on the road in recent weeks and look a good bet | :18:55. | :18:59.
for the play offs, but can AFC Bournemouth catch them? Tony's live | :19:00. | :19:02.
at Dean Court tonight and Tony, a lot's riding on this one. | :19:03. | :19:08.
A buzz around Bournemouth. Great scenes here on Saturday as they eat | :19:09. | :19:13.
Queens Park Rangers. While they were doing that, writing with another | :19:14. | :19:21.
performance. Reading is in pole position for the playoffs and then | :19:22. | :19:24.
there is a clutch of teams and 58 points and all of them have got | :19:25. | :19:29.
playoff hopes and ambitions as we go towards the end of the season. It | :19:30. | :19:33.
makes this one tonight really important. Let's have a word with | :19:34. | :19:38.
both camps. Reading is a very good side. Some really good players. They | :19:39. | :19:43.
are in a similar position to ourselves in the sense that they are | :19:44. | :19:47.
fighting for promotion and a playoff place. We are trying to catch them | :19:48. | :19:50.
so we have to go out and approached the game in the same way as we have | :19:51. | :19:54.
done in recent weeks and hopefully we will get three points. It should | :19:55. | :20:00.
be a full house at an exciting game of football. We are in deep playoff | :20:01. | :20:06.
position. One myth can get closer to us in that respect. `` Bournemouth. | :20:07. | :20:10.
They play some really good football and we believe we play good | :20:11. | :20:14.
football. It should be a cracking game. | :20:15. | :20:20.
Nigel set it up very well. The two teams played very good football and | :20:21. | :20:24.
it should be a good game. It is sold out here again at Bournemouth | :20:25. | :20:29.
tonight. The game for the radio audience as well. Let's talk to the | :20:30. | :20:35.
commentators. What is the secret to this Bournemouth end of season run? | :20:36. | :20:42.
No`one would have expected Bournemouth to be 10th in the table. | :20:43. | :20:46.
Even talk of the Premier League is remarkable. But they have gradually | :20:47. | :20:56.
got into the Championship season. They are saying that they have | :20:57. | :20:58.
arrived and they have got better as the season has gone on. Good | :20:59. | :21:04.
footballing encounter this evening for sure. There has been a | :21:05. | :21:10.
suspension but they think the line`up will be the same as | :21:11. | :21:14.
Saturday. We talked about pressure with Bournemouth. Lots of pressure | :21:15. | :21:18.
on Reading. They are playing well away from home. They are terrific | :21:19. | :21:24.
away from home. Five wins in six now out on the road. The | :21:25. | :21:31.
counterattacking team. Results going well away from home. Whilst they can | :21:32. | :21:35.
keep winning, and tonight is a huge night for them, because if they | :21:36. | :21:42.
win, just about home and hose. A bit of pressure that may be Bournemouth | :21:43. | :21:48.
has not `` it should be interesting. Enjoyed the commentary. | :21:49. | :21:54.
Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez will be heartbroken but he can | :21:55. | :21:57.
bounce back. That's the message from former England star Darren Anderton. | :21:58. | :22:02.
Rodriguez faces six months out after rupturing his anterior cruciate | :22:03. | :22:05.
ligament in Saturday's 4`1 defeat at Manchester City. It means his World | :22:06. | :22:15.
Cup dream is over. Anderton, who himself battled injuries during his | :22:16. | :22:18.
successful spell at Tottenham after leaving Portsmouth admitted on last | :22:19. | :22:21.
night's Late Kick off this will be one of the toughest times of | :22:22. | :22:24.
Rodriguez's career. He will be heartbroken. You want to play for | :22:25. | :22:26.
your clubs but everyone wants to play for their country and go to the | :22:27. | :22:31.
World Cup. He has had a great season. You could see his reaction. | :22:32. | :22:36.
He was devastated. He knew it was a bad one. He is a `` he has had a | :22:37. | :22:43.
great club `` he had had a great time at the club. I am sure he will | :22:44. | :22:48.
watch it. More from Darren Anderton, and all | :22:49. | :22:51.
you want to know about the game tonight, on Late Kick off which is | :22:52. | :22:55.
available on the iPlayer right now. It includes a big preview of the | :22:56. | :22:58.
game tonight. Reading's youth team are out of the | :22:59. | :23:03.
FA Youth cup after a great run to the semi finals of the competition. | :23:04. | :23:08.
TTe tie was level at 2`2 going into last night's second leg at Craven | :23:09. | :23:20.
Cottage. `` The tie. Reading were down to ten men when | :23:21. | :23:24.
Dominic Hyam was sent off. But the Royals turned the tie around scoring | :23:25. | :23:27.
twice after half time to put themselves in position to progress | :23:28. | :23:30.
to the final. But Moussa Dembele scored two more including a | :23:31. | :23:33.
deflected effort in the final minute to break the young Royals hearts. | :23:34. | :23:37.
Matt Prior scored the first county Championship century of the summer | :23:38. | :23:40.
when he scored 125 on the third day of Sussex's rain affected opener | :23:41. | :23:44.
against Middlesex at Hove. Hampshire's match against | :23:45. | :23:46.
Worcestershire is destined for a draw after all the rain unless | :23:47. | :23:48.
there's tactical declarations agreed by the sides. And at the Oval | :23:49. | :23:55.
Glamorgan, in reply to Surrey's 280 all out were at the close. `` 44`2 | :23:56. | :24:08.
at the close. Dave Corben took this shot of the | :24:09. | :24:11.
sunrise over the Isle of Wight, taken from Durlston Country Park in | :24:12. | :24:15.
Dorset. This ground is going to be absolutely packed tonight. Not a | :24:16. | :24:20.
spare seat in the house. The uncertainty, the pressure of needing | :24:21. | :24:24.
to get back to the Premier League. A massive game. We will tell you the | :24:25. | :24:29.
update of this one at 10:25pm tonight. Many thanks. Alexis joined | :24:30. | :24:41.
us for the forecast. It has been a bit of a blustery day, but I | :24:42. | :24:45.
understand things are calming down. High pressure is in charge at the | :24:46. | :24:52.
moment. It is going to say settled `` stay settled. A dry night for the | :24:53. | :24:57.
Bournemouth game. Yes. To take a look at your weather pictures from | :24:58. | :25:03.
today. This is a great shot of the sunrise in Dorset. Many thanks for | :25:04. | :25:08.
that. Nick Lucas captured a tulip covered in dew in his garden this | :25:09. | :25:12.
morning in Ashley Heath. And Chris James captured the vibrant rapeseed | :25:13. | :25:15.
field and the Racton ruin near Funtington in West Sussex. A few | :25:16. | :25:22.
showers today but they will tend to fade away overnight tonight. A | :25:23. | :25:27.
pretty quiet night all in all. Maybe some mist patches and frost. Last | :25:28. | :25:34.
night was breezy and cold, tonight will stay cold, but the winds will | :25:35. | :25:38.
be light, allowing the low cloud to form. Temperatures will fall to | :25:39. | :25:43.
around four or five Celsius in our towns and cities. Tomorrow, the | :25:44. | :25:51.
winds will be a lot lighter than today. Mist and fog first thing will | :25:52. | :25:56.
gradually lift stopped we will see a lot of sunshine but there is a fair | :25:57. | :25:59.
amount of cloud as well, and we may have the odd stray shower. | :26:00. | :26:07.
Temperatures reaching a high of 13 Celsius. A lot of moisture in the | :26:08. | :26:10.
air tomorrow, which means temperatures will be slightly | :26:11. | :26:16.
higher. The showers will tend to fade away tomorrow night. A few | :26:17. | :26:22.
clear spouts but still a fair amount of cloud. Mist and fog is still a | :26:23. | :26:26.
possibility. A mainly rust free night tomorrow night, but still | :26:27. | :26:32.
cannot rule out the chance of frost in sheltered spots. A mainly dry day | :26:33. | :26:37.
on Thursday until the evening time. This cold front is going to be | :26:38. | :26:45.
introducing some clouds, but with the weather front moving southwards | :26:46. | :26:47.
during the evening, we might have the odd spot of rain and eight. Into | :26:48. | :26:53.
the early hours of Friday morning, it could start on a damp note with | :26:54. | :26:57.
some light rain at times, but it will be in improving picture. Lots | :26:58. | :27:02.
of sunshine to start the day tomorrow. Light winds. If you catch | :27:03. | :27:07.
a shower it will be slow moving. For Friday and Saturday there will be a | :27:08. | :27:11.
fair amount of cloud, but high pressure remains in charge, so it is | :27:12. | :27:15.
fairly settled. If you catch a shower, you will be unlucky. Thank | :27:16. | :27:21.
you very much. We like high pressure. It usually means a bit of | :27:22. | :27:27.
sunshine. Stay with us. We will at 10:25pm have the results of that | :27:28. | :27:32.
important, crucial playoff chasing game between Bournemouth and | :27:33. | :27:36.
Reading. We are also back with a bulletin at 8pm as well, but were | :27:37. | :27:43.
all of 18, a very good goodbye. Good night. `` all of the team. | :27:44. | :27:47. |
