Good evening. I'm Jo Kent with the news in the

South. People who work for a Portslouth

care agency which has gone hnto liquidation say they're owed

thousands of pounds in unpahd wages. It's thought up to 20 carers who

work for Pompey home care Lhmited are owed a month's money. There s

been no comment from the firm's liquidator.

For Amy Archer and Daniel English, the plans for both their weddings

are now in turmoil after losing their jobs. `` Danielle. Thdy say

between them, they are owed a total of ?2000 in unpaid wages. This

weekend I have not stopped crying because I have a wedding to pay next

month. I had my dress fitting yesterday and can't afford ht. I

have had to put it back thrde weeks. My flowers have to be paid,

everything has to be paid. H have had to borrow money off famhly

members to get me through the month. It is just not nice.

The pair say they were among around 20 carers cold into the offhces on

Friday and told the company was going into liquidation. `` called

in. They say they are not hopeful of receiving much or any of thd money

they are owed. The people c`red for are now being looked after by other

social care companies. On Friday afternoon we spoke to Pompex home

care Limited. They referred us to the liquidator. We spoke to his

office and were told he would get back to us, but so far therd has

been no comment. The family of a Hampshire m`n whose

yacht capsized in the Atlantic, say they're trying to take comfort in

the knowledge he was doing what he loved. 23`year`old James Male from

Romsey went missing on the way home from Antigua, along with Andrew

Bridge from Farnham and Paul Goslin and Steve Warren from Somerset.

Their yacht, Cheeki Rafiki, was found on Friday with its life raft

still attached. A 55`year`old man has been `rrested

on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body at a hotse in

Oxford. Emergency services were called to a flat in South Bridge Row

this morning. A man in his 30s was found dead. Police are appe`ling for

information. A man has died and another has been

injured after a two`car crash on one of Swindon's busiest roads. The

collision happened at 6:30al this morning on Thamesdown Drive near the

Orbital Retail Park. The de`d man has been named as 33`year`old Paul

Winters from Swindon. Two mdn are in police custody.

Many of us rely on the Internet now, and regard it as another essential

service in our homes. But a mother of three from Compton in Berkshire

is still waiting for her phone line to be connected by BT more than five

months after moving into her new home. BT says the problem is out of

its control but Sarah Diggens says she feels badly let down and just

wants it sorted out. Sarah Diggens loves her new home.

Her youngest son Cohen has lore space to play, while her older boys,

aged nine and 12, have more space to study. But they are having to go

elsewhere to do homework because there is no Internet access. A

couple of times my middle son, he has brought home paper copids so he

is able to take that in. But they do mind maths on the Internet, so he is

missing out on that. Even shmple things, like when I used to have it

I could look up cake recipes. Sarah asked for her phone line to be

connected before she moved hn December. She paid ?200 but it still

hasn't happened. In a statelent BT said:

Sarah also received a text from BT informing her the delay was down to

the council. But West Berkshire Council say this

wasn't the case, saying it had received a number of notices from BT

regarding work in Compton and had not blocked any of them. I don't

want excuses. I just want a connection date, to be switched on

and up and running, and an `pology. While BT and the council bl`me each

other, Sarah and her boys are in the middle, still with no idea when it

will be connected. Later tonight, we'll find ott who'll

be representing us as MEPs hn Europe, when the results of the

European elections are annotnced. Counting of ballot papers is now

under way for the South`East region in Southampton, and for the

South`West region in Poole. There's a special programme covering the

results on BBC One at 11:00pm. Many of us have seen sunny spells

today and this evening conthnues on a fairly pleasant note. Bright skies

out there which gives way to clear spells overnight. We do start to see

an area of showery rain working into eastern areas. Lows tonight are

eight to 12 Celsius and mist or fog is a possibility. Some of us start

tomorrow with showers and wd will see more in the way of heavx and

perhaps thundery showers developing. Still, sunny spells at times and

highs between 15 and 17 Celsius The rest of this week looks unsdttled.
