in an accident while the three men were on a drunken boat

Rico Dardis, who was 30 years old and a father, died on the Whitsun

He had joined a boat trip from Christchurch together with

Louis Borzoni and Paul Gerl`ch, owner of the boat No Chance.

His dismembered body was fotnd beside the boat when the other two

The prosecution say Gerlach and Borzoni deliberately ran

Today Paul Gerlach finished giving his evidence.

He originally told the police that Rico Dardis had fallen off the boat

Today he told the court that was not true.

He said that Rico Dardis had viciously attacked him,

He said that he and Louis Borzoni had pushed Rico Dardis off the boat.

He had then circled the boat until the propeller stopped.

The jury listened to a secrdt recording made by the policd who put

a bug in Paul Gerlach's homd after they'd questioned him.

Today Paul Gerlach said he had been telling lies to his wife.

When asked why he said, I wanted to make myself look

like this person couldn't do whatever he wanted to me.
