An alleged plot to kill the singer Joss Stone. Two men have been | :00:10. | :00:14.
arrested near her Devon home. Good evening. Police are investigating a | :00:14. | :00:18.
conspiracy to rob and murder. We will be live at the singer's home. | :00:18. | :00:22.
Also tonight. The welfare of ponies on Bodmin Moor. An animal charity | :00:22. | :00:26.
calls for urgent action. We will be talking to a local MP who has | :00:26. | :00:30.
raised the issue with ministers. You just cannot allow people to | :00:30. | :00:33.
keep ponies in these poor conditions. It just isn't possible | :00:33. | :00:39.
in the 21st century. And the local food producers hoping | :00:39. | :00:46.
for a lucrative slice of supermarket business. | :00:46. | :00:49.
The Devon-based soul music star Joss Stone said she was absolutely | :00:49. | :00:52.
fine and getting on with life as normal tonight as police continued | :00:52. | :00:56.
to question two men on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and murder the | :00:56. | :01:00.
singer. The men were arrested close to the home of the singer near | :01:00. | :01:03.
Cullompton in East Devon on Monday. Officers say swords, ropes, maps | :01:03. | :01:06.
and aerial photos of Ms Stone's secluded home were allegedly found | :01:06. | :01:16.
:01:16. | :01:19. | ||
in their car. Simon Hall is outside Joss Stone's house now. | :01:19. | :01:24.
This is a quiet part of a tranquil corner of a peaceful Devon | :01:24. | :01:29.
community. But they are proud of their association with Joss Stone. | :01:29. | :01:32.
This evening there is considerable concern that something like this | :01:32. | :01:37.
could happen, two men arrested on suspicion of a conspiracy to murder | :01:37. | :01:45.
and rob her. In a sign of the concern a Munch | :01:45. | :01:48.
Joss Stone and her family, they were doing their best to preserve | :01:48. | :01:53.
their privacy today as they became the focus of extensive media | :01:53. | :01:57.
attention. There has been a continual police presence at their | :01:57. | :02:01.
home and in the area. Officers had been carrying out house-to-house | :02:01. | :02:07.
inquiries. Two men were arrested on Monday in the nearby town of | :02:07. | :02:12.
Compton after police were called by local people. They are aged 30 and | :02:12. | :02:21.
33, and from Manchester. Joss Stone may be an international star but | :02:21. | :02:26.
she has also won praise for a commitment to Devon, participating | :02:26. | :02:31.
in a range of local events and being a part of the community. | :02:31. | :02:35.
very big part. We are all very proud to be living in the same area | :02:35. | :02:40.
that she came from. I'm proud that she is doing so well and I came | :02:41. | :02:46.
from the same town. Joss has been quoted as saying she is that it | :02:46. | :02:51.
defied and just getting on with her life. She is being kept up to date | :02:51. | :02:54.
with developments in the case by Devon and Cornwall police. | :02:54. | :02:58.
Any further developments from the police? | :02:58. | :03:02.
The police have been very keen to bring people in Cullompton for | :03:02. | :03:06.
alerting them about their suspicions about the car and the | :03:06. | :03:09.
two people which led them to the discovery of the items that we have | :03:09. | :03:14.
heard about, the sort, the body bag, the maps and pictures. | :03:14. | :03:18.
The two men arrested are being held in Exeter where they are being | :03:19. | :03:21.
questioned but the police investigation has reached a crucial | :03:21. | :03:25.
point. It is about now that detectives have to decide whether | :03:25. | :03:29.
to charge the men, whether to release them, or whether to apply | :03:29. | :03:32.
for more time to continue questioning them. | :03:32. | :03:35.
A Devon MP is calling for a government inquiry into welfare | :03:35. | :03:38.
problems with ponies living on moorland in the South West. Neil | :03:38. | :03:42.
Parish says many of the animals are struggling to survive. But because | :03:42. | :03:46.
it is often difficult to track down their owners, the authorities say | :03:46. | :03:54.
it is not easy to step in and help them. Eleanor Parkinson reports. | :03:54. | :04:00.
This pony had a until earlier this week been living on at Bodmin Moor. | :04:00. | :04:04.
But horse charity, along with the police and of that, took her and | :04:04. | :04:09.
her fault of the more because they feared she would not survive. Horse | :04:09. | :04:13.
welfare experts say many ponies on Bodmin Moor, even though they have | :04:13. | :04:18.
owners, are struggling. First, they have had to endure a particularly | :04:18. | :04:23.
harsh winter and then the dry spring affected their grazing. Faye | :04:23. | :04:27.
Stacey has been making regular trips out on to the more checking | :04:27. | :04:33.
for problems. We have ponies in really poor condition. All the way | :04:33. | :04:39.
through, since debris, we still have ponies in poor condition and | :04:39. | :04:44.
even emaciated. Some people might say they are moorland ponies, are | :04:44. | :04:49.
there not used to these conditions? Bodmin Moor is quite different to | :04:49. | :04:55.
other areas. On Exmoor we have a breed that have adapted but on | :04:55. | :05:00.
Bodmin we have a mix of ponies that on native to this area of more so | :05:00. | :05:04.
they have not developed that level of adaptation to the conditions. | :05:04. | :05:08.
The charity says that when the owners of these ponies to come out | :05:08. | :05:11.
and given supplementary feed such as when the weather is bad for the | :05:11. | :05:15.
grazing is poor, and the one them to do more regular checks on their | :05:15. | :05:20.
condition. South West Equine Protection say they need more help | :05:20. | :05:24.
from government agencies, but also admitted is difficult because it is | :05:24. | :05:29.
hard to track down owners. They say this pony now at their stables in | :05:29. | :05:33.
Devon should thrive, but they say yet something is not done about | :05:33. | :05:37.
these animals, many may not survive another winter. Earlier I spoke to | :05:37. | :05:41.
Neil Parish and asked him what needed to be done to improve the | :05:41. | :05:48.
welfare of these animals. They have got to be removed from | :05:48. | :05:53.
the more when they ate in a distressed date. You cannot keep | :05:53. | :05:58.
ponies on the more startling and that is why we have to get the | :05:58. | :06:02.
authorities working together to get good medical attention. South West | :06:02. | :06:07.
Equine Protection claimed there is already provision in the Animal | :06:07. | :06:10.
Welfare Act for that to happen, yet the authorities seem reluctant to | :06:10. | :06:16.
enforce it. Why do you think that is? Sometimes there is not enough | :06:16. | :06:18.
money and they do not take action, and they do not take action | :06:18. | :06:23.
together. That is why we have to make sure that we bring it together. | :06:23. | :06:27.
That is why I want to bring evidence to the select committee to | :06:27. | :06:31.
make sure we can look at the plight of the ponies to get action to make | :06:31. | :06:35.
sure they are removed from the more when they are in this very poor | :06:35. | :06:39.
condition. In presenting that evidence to the committee, what you | :06:39. | :06:44.
hope the outcome will be? I hope that we can do a system more like | :06:44. | :06:48.
Dartmoor and Exmoor where there is some money to remove the ponies, to | :06:48. | :06:53.
get them properly microchip. For most of these ponies are owned by | :06:53. | :06:57.
someone. There are very few if any wild ponies on the more and you | :06:57. | :07:02.
just cannot allow people to keep ponies in these poor condition. It | :07:02. | :07:05.
just is not possible in the 21st century. | :07:05. | :07:08.
The government agency which deals with the welfare of livestock | :07:08. | :07:18.
:07:18. | :07:35. | ||
The number of people out of work and claiming benefit has fallen | :07:35. | :07:39.
across the south-west in the past month. The national rate of | :07:39. | :07:44.
unemployment is 3.7%. In Cornwall it is down to 2.6. Devon's rate | :07:44. | :07:48.
fell to two per cent. In Dorset, 1.6% of the population is out of | :07:48. | :07:55.
work and claiming benefit and Somerset's rate is down to 2.1%. | :07:55. | :07:59.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in | :07:59. | :08:02.
connection with the death of a nine-month-old baby in Devon. | :08:03. | :08:06.
Police say he died after being admitted to the Royal Devon and | :08:06. | :08:10.
Exeter Hospital yesterday. A 190-berth marina is to be built | :08:10. | :08:15.
in Plymouth. It will be based in the heart of Millbay, following an | :08:15. | :08:18.
agreement between the developer English Cities Fund and the Sutton | :08:18. | :08:21.
Harbour Group. The area is already undergoing extensive regeneration | :08:21. | :08:23.
with new homes, business space and leisure facilities being | :08:24. | :08:30.
constructed. More details have emerged of the | :08:30. | :08:34.
new eco communities being developed around St Austell in Cornwall. The | :08:34. | :08:39.
scale of this project is huge. Up to 5000 homes will be created over | :08:39. | :08:43.
the next 30 years if all goes to plan. The developers say they will | :08:43. | :08:48.
be building on six former china clay sites. They hope to create up | :08:48. | :08:53.
to 5,000 new jobs. But there are those locally who have expressed | :08:53. | :08:56.
doubts about the impact of all this proposed development. Adrian | :08:56. | :09:00.
Campbell reports. Some people call them the Cornish | :09:00. | :09:03.
Alps, but if the developer Eco-Bos achieves what it intends over the | :09:03. | :09:08.
coming decades, then this area near Penwithick will be transformed. The | :09:08. | :09:12.
company is ready to embark on the first phase of its plans to build | :09:12. | :09:15.
several eco-communities near St Austell. The homes it wants to | :09:15. | :09:24.
build would, it says, emphasise modern and sustainable design. | :09:24. | :09:28.
terms of the designs, I think we're very pleased with people's | :09:28. | :09:30.
reactions to the way that the architects have interpreted the | :09:30. | :09:35.
brief to produce low carbon houses and the diversity and range of | :09:35. | :09:39.
proposals. The other thing that is very noticeable is people's | :09:39. | :09:44.
appreciation of the use of green space and the ecology with in the | :09:44. | :09:49.
sides, to put it within the context of the Environment will setting. | :09:49. | :09:54.
you look on the map you get a very clear idea of the scale of what is | :09:54. | :09:57.
being proposed over the next 30 years, with up to 5000 homes spread | :09:57. | :10:01.
around the new communities. A new marina at Par Docks is part of the | :10:01. | :10:05.
plan and at West Carclaze and Baal there are some striking artists | :10:05. | :10:11.
impressions of what the development will look like. Local campaigners | :10:11. | :10:16.
say that traffic is one of their main concerns. They say that this | :10:16. | :10:21.
area is already very busy. There is the Eden Project not far from here, | :10:21. | :10:27.
holidaymakers and her people already living here. What would | :10:27. | :10:35.
happen if 5000 new homes are built. It is 92 to start with and that is | :10:35. | :10:45.
the first phase. But it is 2000 houses in total. The first 92 | :10:45. | :10:48.
houses which will be submitted for planning consent are designed to | :10:48. | :10:51.
inspire local people and persuade them that this will be a high | :10:51. | :10:59.
quality scheme. But Andrew thinks it is the wrong place to build. | :10:59. | :11:03.
This is St Austell's public access space. Eco-Bos disagrees. It says | :11:03. | :11:07.
it is offering to open up huge areas of land currently closed off | :11:07. | :11:10.
to the public. It insists it is serious about low carbon, | :11:10. | :11:16.
sustainable development to enhance the landscape. | :11:16. | :11:21.
If you would like to comment on those plans or anything else in the | :11:21. | :11:28.
programme, you can e-mail us. We are in Somerset next, where a | :11:28. | :11:32.
man is being evicted from his home of 26 years. We will be finding out | :11:32. | :11:34.
why. Also to come this evening. The | :11:34. | :11:39.
children taking to the streets in a drive to break a world record. And | :11:39. | :11:49.
:11:49. | :11:49. | ||
women's cricket comes to school, giving girls a chance to shine. | :11:49. | :11:53.
A man who has spent the last 25 years living in a beachside shack | :11:53. | :11:57.
in West Somerset has been told his occupation is illegal and he has to | :11:57. | :12:02.
leave it. Exmoor National Park said the stone building near Porlock | :12:02. | :12:06.
belongs to them. But David Burgess says he has no intention of leaving | :12:06. | :12:09.
the home he claimed to have created from virtually nothing. Clinton | :12:10. | :12:19.
:12:20. | :12:21. | ||
Rogers tracked him down to his remote hideaway. | :12:21. | :12:26.
Quite a hike, but it does keep you fit. David Burgess does not get | :12:26. | :12:32.
many visitors. It is a 45 minute hike down a steep coastal path to | :12:32. | :12:39.
reach the place he calls home. And then, truly in the middle of | :12:39. | :12:45.
nowhere, it comes into sight. Mr Burgess, a self-confessed nomad, | :12:45. | :12:50.
claims to have spent 25 years living here, perhaps four months | :12:50. | :12:54.
every year. This is what the building looked like when he first | :12:54. | :13:01.
came across it, when its ownership, he says, was unclear. It is | :13:01. | :13:04.
certainly far from civilisation, on the edge of the West Somerset | :13:04. | :13:10.
coastline. In the last 25 years he has, in essence, rebuilt it, | :13:10. | :13:14.
constructing windows and a roof from driftwood, installing a front | :13:14. | :13:21.
door and creating, he claims, a home. This is the bed platform I | :13:21. | :13:28.
have made. It is made from a railway sleepers cut in half and it | :13:28. | :13:33.
is basically where I sleep. It is very comfortable. This is the | :13:33. | :13:38.
kitchen area. While this may have the comfort of home, Exmoor | :13:38. | :13:42.
National Park say this is an illegal occupation and they have | :13:42. | :13:49.
told Mr Burgess he must leave. you called illegal? It is not yours, | :13:49. | :13:55.
is it? We belong to the land, the land does not belong to us. I do | :13:55. | :14:00.
not think I am squatting. bottom line is that Exmoor National | :14:00. | :14:04.
Park say that this woodland and everything in it belongs to them | :14:04. | :14:09.
and has done since 1974. In a strongly worded statement they say, | :14:09. | :14:14.
we deplore the selfish action being taken by one individual in seeking | :14:14. | :14:18.
to take ownership of this building, therefore denying access to the | :14:18. | :14:28.
:14:28. | :14:29. | ||
wider public. Mr Burgess says he is going nowhere. | :14:29. | :14:33.
The South West enjoys a reputation for its food and drink. So perhaps | :14:33. | :14:36.
it is no surprise that supermarket Waitrose is holding one of its | :14:36. | :14:39.
biggest meet-the-producer events in Devon to find new food for its | :14:39. | :14:48.
latest regional stores. We had lovely food at the county shows | :14:48. | :14:51.
over the last few weeks. Around 50 local producers have the | :14:51. | :14:54.
opportunity to get themselves noticed. | :14:54. | :14:58.
Meet Caroline and Jemima, bakers from Bridport. They already enjoy a | :14:58. | :15:08.
good reputation locally, and they are ready to expand. I think the | :15:08. | :15:13.
opportunity to get our product, which we believe very strongly in, | :15:13. | :15:18.
to a range of outlets outside our immediate locality is going to be a | :15:18. | :15:22.
really good opportunity for us. you feel a bit like you're waiting | :15:22. | :15:31.
for a school exam? No! No, I feel considerably better prepared. | :15:31. | :15:35.
for Leakers bakery to make their bid. They are just one of 52 | :15:35. | :15:38.
producers facing Waitrose representatives in the hope of a | :15:38. | :15:45.
contract. It would be great, because we distribute all over the | :15:45. | :15:50.
South West at the moment, but we do not do much in the supermarkets are | :15:50. | :15:54.
will be a step forward. There are some challenges out there with the | :15:54. | :15:59.
recession and cost challenges, so to bring aid retailer here and be | :15:59. | :16:02.
able to offer complete the new and additional market for them is | :16:02. | :16:08.
superb. One local company that has already benefitted from a Waitrose | :16:08. | :16:15.
contract is Burts Chips, made in Devon. It put us on the map | :16:15. | :16:20.
nationally and now the company is providing 25 countries worldwide | :16:20. | :16:24.
and we are into all the other big stores as well. The National | :16:24. | :16:26.
Farmers Union has recently expressed concern about the power | :16:26. | :16:29.
of supermarkets, and their impact on local producers. Waitrose say | :16:29. | :16:36.
the relationship should be mutually beneficial. We are happy to grow at | :16:36. | :16:42.
the same pace as any supplier. We do not put pressure on anybody to | :16:42. | :16:46.
do anything at a local level that is not right for the business | :16:46. | :16:51.
appetite for. How did it cope with the Waitrose board? It went very | :16:51. | :16:57.
well. There were very enthusiastic. One of the obstacles, like it does | :16:57. | :17:02.
for many local producers, is to actually package applies in a | :17:02. | :17:06.
retail format. Producers will find out in the nest few days if they | :17:06. | :17:14.
have made it thorough. I'm always hungry at this time of | :17:14. | :17:18.
the day and that does not help! More than ,7000 children across the | :17:18. | :17:21.
south-west have been out of school this morning. They are not playing | :17:21. | :17:25.
truant. Instead, they are trying to break a world record. There is a | :17:25. | :17:31.
serious side to this as well. They want to get drivers to slow down. | :17:31. | :17:36.
They left at 10 o'clock sharp. Pupils from Lipson Vale Primary | :17:36. | :17:46.
School preparing to break a world record. Go walking past, it is | :17:46. | :17:50.
record-breaking and we also tried to make cars go slower along these | :17:50. | :17:55.
rates. Slow down to 20 miles an hour, to be precise. Every year in | :17:55. | :18:01.
the south-west, just over 600 children are hurt walking to school. | :18:01. | :18:06.
The school area itself is very built up. We have traffic | :18:06. | :18:10.
congestion and there are times when we have cars that are speeding and | :18:10. | :18:14.
there are times when we have had close incident. Most of the school | :18:14. | :18:23.
stepped out, including Anya Duke. It is going really could. My legs | :18:23. | :18:30.
are a little bit aching though. times, the pace was brisk. You are | :18:31. | :18:34.
really slow! Older and younger pupils took part, including Freddie | :18:34. | :18:42.
and Lily from the reception class. Why are cars dangerous? Because you | :18:42. | :18:47.
might get run over! The law was on hand to keep an eye on things. | :18:47. | :18:54.
After 45 minutes, the walking bus had snaked its way back to school. | :18:54. | :19:02.
Did you enjoy that? Yes! They will find out whether they have broken | :19:02. | :19:06.
the world record later in the year. Sport, and Exeter Chiefs have a | :19:06. | :19:09.
tough start to the European Challenge Cup campaign next season. | :19:09. | :19:13.
They had been drawn in the same group as Perpignan, Newport Gwent | :19:13. | :19:18.
Dragons and Cavalieri Prato. The Chiefs just missed out on reaching | :19:18. | :19:26.
the quarter-finals last season. The England Ladies' cricket captain | :19:26. | :19:28.
Charlotte Edwards and opening bat Caroline Atkins have been in | :19:29. | :19:34.
Cornwall over the past couple of days. They have been to Redruth and | :19:34. | :19:44.
:19:44. | :19:45. | ||
today Werrington Cricket Club near Launceston. Here we are up at | :19:45. | :19:49.
Werrington Cricket Club, just north of Launceston. This is where we | :19:50. | :19:54.
find a lot of youngsters being put through their paces by two very | :19:54. | :19:59.
well known cricketers. Caroline Atkins, opening bat for England and | :19:59. | :20:04.
the team captain, Charlotte Edwards. Caroline, you were Redruth | :20:04. | :20:11.
yesterday. By are you here? We are one of seven England women coaching | :20:11. | :20:14.
ambassadors, employed by the Cricket Foundation to coach cricket | :20:14. | :20:20.
in schools and clubs for the chance to shine campaign, that basically | :20:20. | :20:26.
is to regenerate cricket in state schools. That gives us a career | :20:26. | :20:31.
outside our playing career and it is brilliant to be in Cornwall. I | :20:31. | :20:36.
have come from Taunton today and Lotte has come from Reading. We | :20:36. | :20:41.
have come for a special visit and the enthusiasm has been brilliant. | :20:41. | :20:46.
Charlotte Edwards, the World Cup winning captain and 2020 winning | :20:46. | :20:51.
captain, is the initiative working? It is. We have been involved for | :20:51. | :20:54.
the last three years and the strides we have made in that time | :20:54. | :20:59.
have been phenomenal. It is great to come down to Cornwall. Some of | :20:59. | :21:04.
the, TWI have had a lot no one comes to call more? I said, Well we | :21:05. | :21:09.
are here. We want to inspire them to take up the game that we all | :21:09. | :21:15.
love. Hopefully many of these girls will now be joining Werrington and | :21:15. | :21:19.
they will get a ladies' team up and running. It has been lovely to have | :21:19. | :21:24.
few here. There we are, at two England internationals, what more | :21:24. | :21:28.
do you want? A painting created by young Devon | :21:28. | :21:31.
girl is being exhibited alongside Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst at the | :21:31. | :21:35.
Saatchi Gallery in London. Leilah Poulain's mother only sent the | :21:35. | :21:39.
picture in to a website for fun and was astounded to hear she had won a | :21:39. | :21:46.
nationwide competition. Leilah loves painting. And while it | :21:46. | :21:49.
normally takes years for aspiring artists to be recognised for their | :21:49. | :21:54.
work, this little girl has done it at the age of seven. Where does her | :21:54. | :22:04.
:22:04. | :22:05. | ||
inspiration come from? My favourite things to draw up animals, plants | :22:05. | :22:09.
and fairies. It was a picture of a penguin created two years ago which | :22:09. | :22:13.
came to the attention of the art world. And it all happened by | :22:13. | :22:16.
accident when her mum uploaded the painting to a website which | :22:16. | :22:22.
automatically entered her into a national competition. I did not | :22:22. | :22:26.
even know it was being publicly displayed on the internet. I | :22:26. | :22:30.
thought it was been privately stored on my computer. When I told | :22:30. | :22:35.
her that it was going to be in a gallery she looked at me a bit | :22:35. | :22:40.
funny and said, does that mean I am a famous artist? And I did not | :22:40. | :22:47.
really know how to answer her. I said, well, sort of! And this is | :22:47. | :22:51.
where a copy of Leilah's picture is now on display, one of London's | :22:51. | :22:57.
best-known art galleries. How would the artist herself rate her work? | :22:57. | :23:04.
think this is it 10 out of 10. I like this much bits because it is a | :23:04. | :23:10.
bit smudged all over. It is a bit pink in some areas. The painting is | :23:10. | :23:20.
on display until the end of June. Remember we saw that budding artist | :23:20. | :23:26.
first. Time for the weather. Before the forecast, David has news of an | :23:26. | :23:35.
It is a lunar eclipse which means the shadow of the earth moves over | :23:35. | :23:41.
the moon. The moon goes quite pink if not read. Still some light | :23:41. | :23:47.
creeps round the earth from the sun, so could look quite spectacular. It | :23:47. | :23:52.
depends on the make-up cloud breaks. The best time to see it is around | :23:52. | :23:58.
9:30pm. The natural lunar eclipse is at 9:12pm but the minister will | :23:58. | :24:05.
below the horizon. Hopefully, with some cloud breaks, you'll be able | :24:05. | :24:09.
to see it. It is could be hit and miss whether we see this lunar | :24:09. | :24:15.
eclipse. There is a chance of a few breaks in the cloud. That is the | :24:15. | :24:20.
time the eclipse is in its mid- point. But our main does not get up | :24:20. | :24:27.
to about 9:25pm to you will not release it until about 9:30pm to | :24:27. | :24:31.
9:45pm. Fingers crossed other will be a few breaks in the cloud to let | :24:31. | :24:36.
us see it. The line of cloud is covering most of the South West at | :24:36. | :24:41.
the moment. It will take its time before it eventually clears out of | :24:41. | :24:46.
the way. Tomorrow we have sunshine and showers, basically. Some | :24:46. | :24:51.
showers 28 be quite heavy and that the new area of low pressure races | :24:51. | :24:56.
across the Atlantic. This will give us burning wet weather on Friday. | :24:56. | :25:01.
It is could be windy and quite what for much of the day. Let us look at | :25:01. | :25:06.
the detail. There is quite a bit of cloud at the moment. But there are | :25:06. | :25:12.
some holes here and there. O fleet later this evening will be a chance | :25:12. | :25:18.
to see the lunar eclipse -- hopefully. Later on, another line | :25:18. | :25:23.
of rain moves in. It is quite slow- moving by dawn tomorrow morning. | :25:24. | :25:28.
For many of us, we could have outbreaks of more persistent rain | :25:28. | :25:36.
later in tonight. A little bit milder than it has been overnight. | :25:36. | :25:39.
Tomorrow, that band of rain lingering across Dorset and | :25:39. | :25:43.
Somerset. That will clear out of the way and we will see sunshine | :25:43. | :25:49.
and the risk of one or two sharp showers. The nature of showers that | :25:50. | :25:54.
means one village get a downpour but a mile or so a weight remains | :25:54. | :25:59.
in sunshine. In the sunshine we will seek to bridge up to 16 or 17 | :25:59. | :26:05.
degrees. But a fresher feel compared to today. For the Isles of | :26:05. | :26:15.
:26:15. | :26:36. | ||
Scilly, a will stop showers more The forecast all the way through | :26:36. | :26:42.
and including the weekend is quite mixed. On Friday expect quite a wet | :26:42. | :26:48.
day. Not very warm high that at 14 or 15 degrees, below average for | :26:48. | :26:54.
June. A brisk south will south easterly wind. On Saturday, not | :26:54. | :27:02.
much quieter. Still quite a breezy day. 16 is the highest temperature. | :27:02. | :27:06.
And Sunday does not look too bad. I'll have more details and an | :27:06. | :27:16.
:27:16. | :27:17. | ||
A reminder of our top story. An alleged plot to kill Devon basing | :27:18. | :27:23.
their Joss Stone. Two men had been arrested and dark carrying out | :27:23. | :27:28.
inquiries. And there are calls to end the suffering of ponies on | :27:28. | :27:33. |
