02/08/2014 Weather for the Week Ahead

Welcome to our nightly update for the weather of the week ahead. It

might turn very warm again later on this week. This weekend, it is all

about the rain. Gusty winds as well. Sunshine will follow and the

best of that will be a cross southern parts of the UK. Some

sunshine developing in southern areas already. Warnings have been

issued in the north, some are in heavy and persistent. Fringing into

northern Ireland as well. Quite a bleak day, 15 degrees in Glasgow.

Towards the evening and night, the wet weather affecting Scotland,

parts of northern Ireland and across the Irish Sea. Winds will be

unseasonably strong. Further south, it looks like a reasonable Sunday on

the clouds. The winds will be fading away as will the showers and you can

look forward to some sunshine. On Sunday it is a split. In the far

north of England more rain. Dry and brighter in the south. Contrast in

temperatures. Eventually, at the low pressure will get a move on and

please to the far north. An improving story as we go into

Monday. In Scotland, it is a Bank Holiday with drier, brighter and

less windy area. A reasonable start to the week. We are not ruling out

the odd shower, particularly in the west. It will feel OK with

temperatures in the lower to bid 20s. Walmart across the north of

Scotland. -- warmer. Some thundery showers moving west. Still some

brightness to be had. Some places will avoid the showers altogether

stop by mid week, we are looking at this area of low pressure in the

Atlantique. The track is still uncertain but it looks like it will

spread across western parts of the UK. Before that happens, some

reasonable weather. Wind is not too strong and temperatures still above

average across southern and eastern parts of the UK. Towards the

weekend, we may see southerly winds coming up again and it could turn

very warm if not hot across south-east areas. In any case,

eventually, the westerly winds will wind out and the temperatures will

start to fall back again. To sum up the specs for the end of next week

and into the weekend, it does stay mostly unsettled, most of the rain

across northern and western areas. Warmer in the
