Hello, it's that time of the day where we look at the next

0:00:050:00:07

five days worth of weather,

0:00:070:00:08

and then peek beyond to see what the 6-10 day period has to offer.

0:00:080:00:11

In the short term, it's going to be a chilly start to the day on Monday,

0:00:110:00:14

particularly in the North and West,

0:00:140:00:16

the more rural spots with a touch of frost, but they'll be some

0:00:160:00:19

sunshine out there and temperatures will recover quickly.

0:00:190:00:22

Into the South of the UK, and there'll be a bit of patchy cloud

0:00:220:00:25

but that shouldn't detract from what will be a pleasant sort of day.

0:00:250:00:28

Light winds and spells of sunshine,

0:00:280:00:30

and temperatures into the low 20s,

0:00:300:00:32

across the board in the Southern counties of England.

0:00:320:00:35

A decent day across Wales, through the Midlands,

0:00:350:00:38

and across towards East Anglia, with plenty of sunshine -

0:00:380:00:40

light winds as well, it will feel pleasant out there.

0:00:400:00:43

In Northern England, more cloud in

0:00:430:00:44

the afternoon compared with the morning, 17-18 typically,

0:00:440:00:47

but along the North Sea coast a couple of degrees lower than that.

0:00:470:00:50

Through the Central Lowlands,

0:00:500:00:52

more cloud in the afternoon compared with the morning,

0:00:520:00:54

and Northern Scotland still breezy,

0:00:540:00:56

still cloudy, but just a spot of rain.

0:00:560:00:58

That'll be about it. A pretty decent afternoon in Northern Ireland.

0:00:580:01:01

Through the evening, it's going to turn chilly again,

0:01:010:01:04

and by dawn on Tuesday major towns and cities will hang on to

0:01:040:01:07

double figures, but, again, it's these rural spots in the North

0:01:070:01:10

and the West where temperatures will

0:01:100:01:12

be in single figures, down to 2-3 degrees,

0:01:120:01:14

so just a touch of frost and maybe a few patches of mist and fog.

0:01:140:01:19

Tuesday will be a decent day after that chilly start for some.

0:01:190:01:23

It will be dry pretty much everywhere,

0:01:230:01:26

and winds will be light everywhere as well.

0:01:260:01:28

A good day for getting out and about.

0:01:280:01:30

The sunshine will last longest across Wales and the Southwest,

0:01:300:01:34

with cloud developing elsewhere,

0:01:340:01:35

but even with that cloud, a few breaks coming and going,

0:01:350:01:38

but essentially it's a dry, cloudy, day with temperatures again

0:01:380:01:41

getting into the low 20s the further South you are.

0:01:410:01:44

Maybe it's the middle to upper teens as you head North.

0:01:440:01:47

Now, the middle part of the week,

0:01:480:01:50

we've still got high pressure dominating across most

0:01:500:01:52

of the UK, but it's drifting North allowing a breeze to

0:01:520:01:55

pick up a little in the South and West.

0:01:550:01:58

Apart from that, it's a pretty similar day,

0:01:580:02:01

a lot of cloud particularly for Central and Eastern areas,

0:02:010:02:04

light winds, and a bit more of a breeze in the South

0:02:040:02:06

and West might help to break the cloud up,

0:02:060:02:08

so again some spells of sunshine, 19 or 20 degrees in the South,

0:02:080:02:11

17s-18s the further North you go.

0:02:110:02:14

Towards the middle and latter part of the week,

0:02:140:02:16

the high continues to drift away towards the North,

0:02:160:02:19

so the breeze does pick up across the South and the West of the UK,

0:02:190:02:22

but the high is keeping those fronts well at bay,

0:02:220:02:25

so it's another dry day with a fair bit of cloud.

0:02:250:02:28

Central and Eastern areas seeing the thickest of the cloud, but even

0:02:280:02:32

here it will stay dry,

0:02:320:02:33

best of the brighter weather across Western parts of the UK.

0:02:330:02:36

As we look to the end of the week, high pressure is still with us,

0:02:360:02:39

drifting away towards the North, the breeze becoming

0:02:390:02:41

more noticeable across

0:02:410:02:43

Southern parts of England, through Wales, and into Northern Ireland.

0:02:430:02:46

These fronts are trying to push in from the South

0:02:460:02:48

and the West but I suspect they won't make much progress.

0:02:480:02:51

Maybe some extra cloud

0:02:510:02:52

and a spot of rain possible towards the Isles of Scilly,

0:02:520:02:55

but I suspect most of us will be fine and dry towards

0:02:550:02:57

the end of the week, but there's still quite a bit of cloud around.

0:02:570:03:01

In spite of that, it is a dry story, and we should get into the low 20s.

0:03:010:03:04

Now, into the 6-10 day period,

0:03:040:03:05

and it looks like that high will still be drifting towards

0:03:050:03:08

the North, the low trying to come into towards the South and the West.

0:03:080:03:12

This feed of air in-between the two systems could bring a few

0:03:120:03:14

showers into the Southeast,

0:03:140:03:16

and some of those could turn to be quite heavy towards days 8,9 and 10,

0:03:160:03:19

but we could see that area of low pressure making its way

0:03:190:03:23

into the South and West, which also brings the possibility of rain.

0:03:230:03:26

So, there's a couple of possible

0:03:260:03:28

different outcomes,

0:03:280:03:29

we'll have to see nearer the time.

0:03:290:03:31

Tom, I've kept a secret from you.

0:03:340:03:36

I never meant to lie to you. I just did what I thought I had to.

0:03:360:03:42

The quieter you keep a secret, the louder it explodes.

0:03:420:03:46

Why?!

0:03:480:03:49

Tell me now!

0:03:490:03:50

Tell me the truth!

0:03:500:03:52

I don't know what's happening.

0:03:530:03:55

I don't know what I'm doing.
