Hello. We've got a bit of everything thrown into the weather -

0:00:020:00:05

some strong winds, heavy rain, hill snow - over the next ten days or so,

0:00:050:00:09

as well as brighter and milder weather.

0:00:090:00:12

Through the weekend,

0:00:120:00:13

still very unsettled.

0:00:130:00:14

We've got heavy showers rattling in from the West,

0:00:140:00:17

Southern and Southeastern areas

0:00:170:00:19

staying driest the longest,

0:00:190:00:21

but the wind's a real feature of the weather -

0:00:210:00:24

40 to 50mph gusts across England and Wales.

0:00:240:00:26

Looking around at 3pm,

0:00:260:00:28

you can see heavy bursts of showery rain

0:00:280:00:31

across Southwest England, Wales, the Midlands.

0:00:310:00:34

Gusty winds here too.

0:00:340:00:36

East Anglia and the far Southeast

0:00:360:00:38

probably staying driest longest,

0:00:380:00:40

but across much of Northern England and Northern Ireland,

0:00:400:00:43

rain showers, sleet at higher levels,

0:00:430:00:45

and in Scotland, those rain and sleet showers

0:00:450:00:47

increasingly turning to snow,

0:00:470:00:49

mainly on the hills and mountains.

0:00:490:00:51

It's a gusty day with those strong winds.

0:00:510:00:54

Overnight and into Sunday,

0:00:540:00:56

we keep the showers and strong winds.

0:00:560:00:59

Not quite as mild

0:00:590:01:00

compared to first thing Saturday.

0:01:000:01:02

By the time we get to Sunday,

0:01:020:01:04

temperatures more typically 7 or 8 degrees,

0:01:040:01:07

but colder air further North,

0:01:070:01:09

with the chance of further snow showers.

0:01:090:01:11

Snow amounts accumulating

0:01:110:01:13

across the mountains and hills of Scotland.

0:01:130:01:16

We've got this next weather system

0:01:160:01:18

approaching from the West on Sunday,

0:01:180:01:20

so another windy-feeling day,

0:01:200:01:23

plenty more showers rattling across the country,

0:01:230:01:26

and further snowfall to come

0:01:260:01:28

on the high ground of Scotland,

0:01:280:01:30

mainly above 400 metres or so.

0:01:300:01:32

Winds likely to gust to 50 to 60mph,

0:01:320:01:34

enough to cause significant disruption.

0:01:340:01:37

Turning milder in the South,

0:01:370:01:39

13 degrees or so,

0:01:390:01:41

but further North, we're still looking at

0:01:410:01:43

temperatures around 3 to 6 Celsius.

0:01:430:01:45

Some real contrasts in temperature in fact.

0:01:450:01:48

On into Monday morning,

0:01:480:01:50

this next area of low pressure

0:01:500:01:52

approaching from the Atlantic,

0:01:520:01:54

tight isobars once again.

0:01:540:01:56

Quite mild air in charge across much of the country,

0:01:560:01:59

but colder air still pushing down

0:01:590:02:01

into Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:02:010:02:03

so still the potential that we could see

0:02:030:02:05

some snow and sleet across parts of Scotland.

0:02:050:02:08

Further South, it'll be falling as rain,

0:02:080:02:10

13 degrees or so,

0:02:100:02:12

contrast that with 4 or 5 Celsius

0:02:120:02:14

towards the North of Scotland.

0:02:140:02:16

Into Tuesday, it's a repeat performance.

0:02:160:02:19

We've got the next area of low pressure approaching

0:02:190:02:22

from the Atlantic.

0:02:220:02:23

Some fairly chilly conditions across Scotland,

0:02:230:02:26

but this band of rain works its way

0:02:260:02:28

Northwards and Eastwards across the country,

0:02:280:02:31

increasingly turning to snow as it bumps into

0:02:310:02:34

that colder air in the North.

0:02:340:02:36

This is quite a deep area of low pressure,

0:02:360:02:38

bringing a real squeeze in those isobars,

0:02:380:02:41

so another very windy story

0:02:410:02:43

on Wednesday, spells of rain once again for many areas,

0:02:430:02:47

but it is likely to be a mild story across,

0:02:470:02:50

11 to 14 Celsius.

0:02:500:02:52

Then, later next week,

0:02:520:02:54

things stay unsettled.

0:02:540:02:55

Low pressure still the dominant

0:02:550:02:57

driver of the weather,

0:02:570:02:59

but the isobars not quite as close,

0:02:590:03:01

so it'll be a little less windy

0:03:010:03:02

towards the end of next week.

0:03:020:03:04

In Scotland, we could see

0:03:040:03:06

further hill snow,

0:03:060:03:07

even down to lower levels,

0:03:070:03:09

a bit of wintery precipitation.

0:03:090:03:11

Elsewhere, the chance of sunnier

0:03:110:03:12

and milder spells,

0:03:120:03:14

particularly for Eastern parts.

0:03:140:03:16

Towards the Northwest,

0:03:160:03:17

further spells of rain,

0:03:170:03:18

perhaps with localised flooding

0:03:180:03:20

as rainfall totals mount up.

0:03:200:03:22

This is the Floodline number

0:03:220:03:24

if you are concerned about

0:03:240:03:25

any potential flood warnings.

0:03:250:03:27

That's it for now. Bye-bye.
