Zoe! Zoe! I so loved working with you last series. I'd love to help

:00:26.:00:33.

you, but I just don't think I can. And I've found a new dance partner,

:00:33.:00:43.
:00:43.:00:44.

any way. Oh, no!

:00:44.:00:50.

Choreography, choreography, choreography corner - that is so

:00:50.:01:00.
:01:00.:01:00.

last year! It's all about freestyle!

:01:00.:01:06.

You understand, don't you? You understand.

:01:06.:01:16.
:01:16.:01:18.

It's time to meet the stars of our show.... Johnny Ball.

:01:18.:01:24.

Welcome to Strictly. ALARM BUZZING

:01:24.:01:31.

Oh, this is a dream. Johnny Ball has just been confirmed

:01:31.:01:41.
:01:41.:02:12.

Live, from Television Centre, this is Strictly, t takes two. Please

:02:12.:02:22.
:02:22.:02:28.

Hello. Welcome to a brand new series of It Takes Two. We're back,

:02:28.:02:33.

a little bit excited and all of your dreams, and some of my night

:02:33.:02:38.

marries, love you dad, will come trying over the next two weeks as

:02:38.:02:43.

we have access to all the Strictly gossip. My guests are primed and

:02:43.:02:49.

oiled and look beautiful. Tonight, we have an Olympian, an Australian

:02:49.:02:59.
:02:59.:03:00.

and a Glamazon. From a mag nifpbt performance on

:03:00.:03:07.

Saturday night it's Louis and Flavia, and we also have Jerry and

:03:07.:03:17.

Anton. And Craig, how svelt you look. Years of dieting. What a

:03:17.:03:22.

weekend it was. We had broken noses and all sorts. These are the

:03:22.:03:31.

headlines. Good evening - the news. Week one,

:03:31.:03:36.

and already the surprises have started topping the leader board,

:03:36.:03:40.

Lisa and Robin proved to be the weekend's star performance with a

:03:40.:03:47.

cheeky cha-cha-cha. I thought it was great. What it

:03:47.:03:54.

lacked in technique just made up for in energy, enthusiasm and fun.

:03:54.:04:01.

Was it is a lift or was it a swoosh?

:04:01.:04:07.

Is new girl, Karen a rule breaker? Craig was not best pleased. I'm not

:04:07.:04:11.

particularly happy, actually, Karen. There are no lifts in the waltz.

:04:11.:04:15.

One foot should remain on the floor at all times. So you will be marked

:04:15.:04:22.

severely down for that. Unfortunately for Brendon, it

:04:22.:04:28.

seemed like the curse of the Cole had returned, with Victoria

:04:28.:04:38.
:04:38.:04:38.

forgetting her cha-cha-cha in what can only be called "doing a Lulu."

:04:38.:04:46.

You're a champion. You've fallen off the bike before. Get back on it.

:04:46.:04:54.

And finally, an It Takes Two drama, on Friday's group number, James

:04:54.:05:04.
:05:04.:05:09.

Poor James. It's awful. They broke his nose during a lift. It's not

:05:09.:05:14.

often I've seen James lying on the floor in quite so much pain, so I

:05:14.:05:20.

think it must have hurt him. I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to.

:05:20.:05:27.

Shall we try again? No, I'm so sorry. Can I have a kiss.

:05:27.:05:36.

Those were the Strictly headlines. Thank you. Now, this year's line-up

:05:36.:05:41.

has been hailed as the best ever, but just what do our judges make of

:05:41.:05:47.

the new batch? Oh, Fern. The nation's sweetheart.

:05:47.:05:52.

She loves dancing. If you have an attitude like that, you can win.

:05:52.:05:58.

think Fern will do all right. Kimberly is going to do great. The

:05:58.:06:04.

professionals are going to love throwing her around. She's

:06:04.:06:14.
:06:14.:06:15.

something kind of.... Kids love Strictly and kids love Dani Harmer.

:06:15.:06:20.

She'll be an absolute fire cracker. She has to ignite a sense of fun

:06:20.:06:27.

and energy. And remember, technique. Denise, as an Essex girl, fake tan,

:06:27.:06:37.
:06:37.:06:39.

lashes, darling, pouchy lips. has the looks and the physique.

:06:39.:06:47.

let's not forejet the bejazzle. Lisa 100% woman. You've got to use

:06:47.:06:55.

what you've got and if you've got it, flaunt it and win it. Victoria

:06:55.:07:00.

is fabulous and used to going hideously fast around the velodrome,

:07:00.:07:06.

will she do the same on the dance floor? Did you see Victoria's abs?

:07:06.:07:14.

I am shamed. I am going to the gym straightaway. It's not always the

:07:14.:07:21.

case that supermodels can dance. She can walk, Jerry Hall. Give me

:07:21.:07:25.

that superglamour. You never know who is going to rise to the top and

:07:25.:07:33.

who is going to sink without trace. Come on!

:07:33.:07:40.

Time now to welcome the impossibly glamorous megastar, who is probably

:07:40.:07:46.

one of the world's most be guileing beauties, and luckily for us, he's

:07:46.:07:49.

brought along his celebrity superstar.

:07:49.:07:55.

So, Jerry, one dance down. How was it for you on Saturday? Oh, it was

:07:55.:08:01.

fantastic. My cha-cha-cha was OK, but I was thrilled with how I

:08:01.:08:08.

worked that fur stole. You did. I could see you on the balcony

:08:08.:08:14.

preparing it. And throwing it away so beautifully. You got mixed

:08:14.:08:19.

comments from the judges. Len wants you to excite him more. How are you

:08:19.:08:24.

intended to do that and can he take it? Well, today we've been working

:08:24.:08:32.

on our foxtrot. There's a lot of on our foxtrot. There's a lot of

:08:32.:08:34.

pushing your pelvis forward. And have you got over Craig's

:08:34.:08:42.

comment when he said, "You were taking minimal to a whole new level

:08:42.:08:48.

on Saturday?." Yes, we cake out of that quite well, to be honest. I

:08:48.:08:53.

didn't want to go too mad with back flips and bells and whistles in the

:08:53.:08:58.

number because I wanted Jerry to do it, and pull it off and feel

:08:58.:09:03.

comfortable and achieve the number. And I thought she did all those

:09:03.:09:09.

things and was marvellous, so we can go on from that. He was easing

:09:09.:09:14.

me in. And when you're out in front of the audience, it's terrifying.

:09:14.:09:22.

So you have to ease in. I loved the pose. I can't do it. And what is

:09:22.:09:28.

your approach to dancing and teaching Jerry? Obviously slowly

:09:28.:09:34.

slowly. Catches the monkey. Jerry has so many assets, she looks

:09:34.:09:37.

amazing and stands beautifully and she has a wonderful understanding

:09:37.:09:43.

of her body, and that was a great advantage in the cha-cha-cha.

:09:43.:09:48.

can walk. Boy, can you walk! she brings all this to the dance

:09:48.:09:54.

floor and it's a great asset to me and I he try to use as much as I

:09:54.:10:01.

can. And she is the model student. Have a look at this. I've never

:10:02.:10:08.

known anybody in the show look that hot. The catwalk thing, I feel

:10:08.:10:17.

quite comfortable with that. The hair ography. A lot of posing

:10:17.:10:23.

and sexy things. It's too much, cut back on the glamour. Do you know

:10:23.:10:28.

how hard that is? It's all about posing and style. Yeah, I like that.

:10:28.:10:34.

It sort of makes it feel more my dance.

:10:34.:10:41.

Oh, so hot! You are a goddess. would you not love that! Look at

:10:41.:10:49.

that! We'll turn out a foxtrot. Which is what you are doing this

:10:49.:10:53.

week. How is it go going? It's great, because there is a lot of

:10:53.:10:58.

walking involved in it. Is it walking? It is. Forwards and

:10:58.:11:04.

backwards. You just have to stay together when you do it. It's

:11:04.:11:10.

closer than the cha-cha-cha. I like it. I think I'm getting the essence

:11:10.:11:16.

of ballroom dancing. Middle-aged women rubbing against young men.

:11:16.:11:23.

you're getting me all saucey. Is it true that Bill Wyman chose your

:11:23.:11:33.
:11:33.:11:35.

music on Saturday? He did. I got advice from Bill Wymam. Mick Jagger,

:11:35.:11:40.

and Bob Geldof. What did he suggest? Something for the waltz.

:11:40.:11:46.

What is the world coming to. Good luck with your foxtrot, I know it

:11:46.:11:53.

will be something to look forward to. Thank you very much, Ton and

:11:53.:11:59.

Jerry! Now, this is what happened when our

:11:59.:12:06.

cameras went backstage as the couples made their debuts. ALL:

:12:06.:12:10.

Welcome to another series of Strictly Come Dancing. Come on,

:12:10.:12:17.

guys....yeah, yeah. First day back and a new cast.

:12:17.:12:23.

is the big one. Feeling sick already. What have I done! Look who

:12:23.:12:28.

it is. I still managed to go shopping.

:12:28.:12:34.

First rehearsal with a live band. He's looking a bit dabber in this.

:12:34.:12:41.

Off to a funeral. It's so funny when you've not seen anyone do

:12:41.:12:46.

anything for three weeks. When he first came, he couldn't walk. Now

:12:46.:12:52.

look at him. He's dancing. When you get on that floor, it's a whole new

:12:52.:13:02.
:13:02.:13:05.

game. Ow! My feet hurt. I'm more nervous this year than any other

:13:05.:13:11.

year. You want to do your best. Bring on Friday night.

:13:11.:13:17.

I'm stitched into fuschia. Five minutes! You can almost smell

:13:17.:13:21.

the tension. It's great! And I'm not even

:13:21.:13:30.

dancing. Is it time for the show? Am I late!

:13:30.:13:40.
:13:40.:13:43.

Come on. Day two. Oh, Strictly! Good morning. Well, SSS. Strictly

:13:43.:13:49.

stress spot! It's a new one for me. Yesterday, I was terrified, so

:13:49.:13:59.
:13:59.:14:00.

today I'm like this....Aaaaaargh! Are you snefrbz No. He should be.

:14:00.:14:04.

wish I could say something, but I couldn't.

:14:04.:14:10.

I'm out of breath and she is not at all. I'm the fat one and he's more

:14:10.:14:18.

out of breath than me! It's that time. Ten minutes before

:14:18.:14:24.

we begin. Tension mounts! I'm just getting ready to waltz.

:14:24.:14:30.

It's show time and Anton has been riding me hard! I tell you, it's

:14:30.:14:36.

good fun, a hard man! Let's go do this.

:14:36.:14:46.

Show time! Welcome to Strictly Come Dancing. It's nice to see you, to

:14:46.:14:51.

see you...ALL: Nice. What a fantastic start to series ten. The

:14:51.:14:55.

highs, the lows. I can't wait for next Saturday night to see what

:14:55.:15:00.

happens. A dramatic weekend all round and

:15:00.:15:06.

now a man who can create a whole load of drama on his own. It's

:15:07.:15:16.

Craig revel Horwood. Is there a move? Oh, look at that.

:15:16.:15:21.

What was that move? I can't possibly tell you. A little bit of

:15:21.:15:24.

salsa. How did you enjoy the weekend? I absolutely loved it. I

:15:25.:15:30.

thought it was fantastic. I know from my face and comments you

:15:30.:15:34.

probably thought I didn't. You were in a bit of a grub on Friday. And

:15:34.:15:40.

better on Saturday. Well, there was definitely better dancing on

:15:40.:15:46.

Saturday, actually. Is there room to improve? Yes, but they have been

:15:46.:15:51.

practising for some time now. weeks. Three weeks is a lot.

:15:51.:15:56.

Generally they only have one week to learn a dance, so this should

:15:56.:16:02.

have been spot on. Let's start with Lisa and Robin. You gave them an

:16:02.:16:06.

eight which is amazing for the first week. What did you love?

:16:06.:16:11.

love the fact that she has natural rhythm and she really actually

:16:11.:16:17.

dances. She does have what I call an inner motor and that is what is

:16:17.:16:21.

fascinating about her. We didn't think for one moment or except that

:16:21.:16:25.

level of dancing. I don't know how she is going to go in the ballroom

:16:25.:16:31.

stuff, though. Will that transfer to the ballroom? Well, because she

:16:31.:16:36.

has natural rhythm she'll be able to get her slow, quick, quicks

:16:36.:16:42.

together. It's just her posture to concentrate on. But a fantastic

:16:42.:16:48.

start. Nicky and Karen in the waltz. You gave them a two because you

:16:48.:16:55.

were penalising them for the lift. She tried to call it a swoosh.

:16:55.:17:01.

both feet were off the floor. a new girl. Is she likely to know

:17:01.:17:07.

that? Yes, it's written clearly in the rule book. Do you have time to

:17:07.:17:12.

read that? We all read it. If she wants to continue doing that and

:17:12.:17:19.

she thinks it's worth it, go right ahead, but she will get severely

:17:19.:17:23.

marked down. And I think she will have learnt from that. Kimberly and

:17:23.:17:28.

Pasha and their cha-cha-cha. They started on Saturday, a brilliant

:17:28.:17:33.

opening and you said it was incandescent. It was. She is

:17:33.:17:41.

another one with great natural rhythm. Yes, she has had dancing

:17:41.:17:47.

before. Just a little bit. But not in the ballroom. And we hope to see

:17:47.:17:52.

her shine there too. Victoria and Brendan and the cha-cha-cha. We

:17:52.:17:57.

didn't hear a comment from you, because we didn't have time. Where

:17:57.:18:02.

did it go wrong? Right here. She totally messed that section up. And

:18:02.:18:07.

unfortunately when you do that, it's difficult to recover.

:18:07.:18:12.

Especially in the cha-cha-cha, when you're in hold it might be easier.

:18:12.:18:22.
:18:22.:18:23.

My only add advise 5 vice, would be make up your own steps. Then we

:18:23.:18:30.

might not be aware. Just make it up. Make it up, darling and a smile

:18:30.:18:35.

covers everything. Denise and James and their waltz, you said on Friday

:18:35.:18:39.

they had saved the best to last. Were you surprised then when Len

:18:40.:18:45.

was tough on her foot work? Yes, I think he was being a bit picky, but

:18:45.:18:49.

he has every right as a professional dancer and an

:18:49.:18:55.

adjudicator. Yes, she has problems as everybody does. There's good and

:18:55.:19:00.

bad about every single dance. I could easily say how wonderful

:19:00.:19:05.

everything is, but it's much better to know, if you're the celebrity to

:19:05.:19:15.
:19:15.:19:15.

know what is wrong and improve on it. Now my dad. I was tweeted on

:19:15.:19:21.

Saturday and asked "did you want to lamp Craig for being so mean to

:19:22.:19:27.

your dad." You didn't like him miming the words. No, I'm not fond

:19:27.:19:31.

of that because it distracts from looking at the dance and dance

:19:31.:19:37.

tells a story with your body. did he get right? The fact that he

:19:37.:19:43.

got all the steps right. He did them. In the right order, which was

:19:43.:19:49.

fantastic. It's just the execution of the steps that I was slightly

:19:49.:19:54.

bewildered by. Richard and Erin's waltz. The word came out, I thought

:19:54.:20:03.

you might have saved it -- spatulistic. Oh, yes. What do you

:20:03.:20:10.

mean by that? You can't tell in this because he's in hold. But when

:20:10.:20:17.

he is out of hold his hands look out of shape and like a spatula.

:20:17.:20:23.

And using your arm in the correct way. And to have at least some...So

:20:23.:20:29.

How should it be? You want it to be shaped and formed. And the other

:20:29.:20:34.

judges said they wanted him to be more camp? No, I don't agree with

:20:34.:20:40.

that. I think he played the waltz perfectly well. It's a serious and

:20:40.:20:44.

beautiful dance, but one can smile through it, however. And I thought

:20:44.:20:52.

he looked butch. We don't want a reooccurrence of Julian Clary, do

:20:52.:21:02.

we. I don't know. No, we don't. Colin's dance you said there could

:21:02.:21:09.

have been bits it could have done without. What did you mean? He did

:21:10.:21:19.

a lot of this nasty freestyle stuff which I didn't take to at all.

:21:19.:21:25.

Isolation, yes, and then there's horrible isolation. If you're going

:21:25.:21:31.

to isolate your body then isolate in a proper fashion that is at

:21:31.:21:37.

least watchable. Are we all following? ALL: Yes. Dani and

:21:37.:21:42.

Vincent and their waltz. A glorgeious little couple. You said

:21:42.:21:50.

she needs to lengthen her line, but you loved her back. She also needs

:21:50.:21:55.

to lengthen that leg. I loved her back because it's quite loose and

:21:55.:22:01.

what I mean by that is when she does that spin on one leg and she

:22:01.:22:05.

releases her leg she has a lovely curve to her spine. Some people

:22:05.:22:12.

have a very stiff back, which never looks good. But all in all not bad

:22:12.:22:19.

for the first week. Not bad. next week, the dance-off is back.

:22:19.:22:25.

Power to the judges. I feel all powerful. Thank you for coming back.

:22:25.:22:31.

But we must point out the sparkly shoes. To match your set. You have

:22:31.:22:37.

to match the cushions. Thank you, darlingment

:22:37.:22:42.

Earlier on, we heard the judges thoughts on this year's teams. Time

:22:42.:22:50.

now to hear what they thought of the boys. Rickkkkkay! We all like a

:22:50.:22:55.

bit of rough. I'm hoping he will come literally from the dance

:22:55.:23:01.

gutters up and surprise us all. Michael Vaughan. Actually

:23:01.:23:05.

cricketers, historically have done very, very well. I think he is

:23:05.:23:09.

obviously up for the challenge. Even though he's used to the

:23:09.:23:14.

audience and the tension, when you get on the dance floor it's very

:23:14.:23:20.

different. It's not like a cricket pitch. Let's hope Richard uses his

:23:20.:23:26.

time wisely and doesn't get involved in show business gossip.

:23:26.:23:31.

He must concentrate on dancing. like him. He can be a bit camp and

:23:31.:23:39.

that does a world of good. Johnny Ball, the oldest contestant ever.

:23:39.:23:49.
:23:49.:23:50.

He looks very fit for his age. on, Johnny, do it for the oldies.

:23:50.:23:58.

Colin Salmon. 007! Will he be shaken and not stirred? A little

:23:58.:24:07.

bit of Salmon every day is very good for you. That sounds filthy.

:24:07.:24:13.

Westlife just stand up on a key change, they very rarely dance.

:24:13.:24:19.

hope he comes out and gives it welly. I think he will find it

:24:20.:24:27.

tough. Louis Smith will be a great surprise for us all. Hunky dunky on

:24:27.:24:33.

the pommel horse. Come on. If he can only replicate his success in

:24:33.:24:36.

the Olympics, he will be a sensation.

:24:36.:24:45.

He is a bit of a sensation, he scored silver and bronze in the

:24:45.:24:51.

Olympics, but can his partner steer him to the glitter ball? It's Louis

:24:51.:24:59.

and Flavia. You had to wait until the end to go on, how was it for

:24:59.:25:05.

you? It was tough. She was jumping around all night, but I tried to be

:25:05.:25:11.

composed. He was very composed I couldn't believe it. Five minutes

:25:11.:25:16.

before he got a bit nervous. does this pressure compare to the

:25:16.:25:21.

Olympics? It's two different types of competition, obviously. The

:25:21.:25:25.

Olympic Games was horrible. The nerves were really stressful.

:25:25.:25:30.

Whereas this, it's like a fun scaryness, if you know what I mean.

:25:30.:25:36.

So it's two very different types. So slightly less pressure? Slightly.

:25:36.:25:42.

So far, Darcey could not take her eyes off you on Saturday. That was

:25:42.:25:52.
:25:52.:26:20.

hilarious. We had a camera on her. It was almost disbelief! I think

:26:21.:26:26.

she loves you! Did you know the thrust of your hips could have that

:26:26.:26:31.

effect? I didn't realise she was licking her teeth through that

:26:32.:26:39.

routine. She'll be going "oh, no." And she said you used muscles you

:26:39.:26:45.

never thought you had, but have you found you've got new ripples?

:26:45.:26:53.

thought I would be more prepared for how sore the training would be,

:26:53.:27:00.
