Hello. Welcome to Thursday's It Takes Two. We are bursting at the

:00:12.:00:16.

seams with guests today. They are kicking and flicking their way to

:00:16.:00:23.

Wembley. Nicky and Karen are here. You may have noticed It Takes Two

:00:23.:00:30.

to tango and these two are very good at it. We'll have a little

:00:30.:00:34.

look at the frocks and a sneaky peek into the training rooms and

:00:34.:00:41.

bringing his own joy to the studio Russell Grant is here.

:00:41.:00:51.
:00:51.:01:22.

This is It Takes Two. Oh, I could This is Strictly It Takes Two.

:01:22.:01:28.

Please welcome your host, Zoe Ball. Hello. Welcome to It Takes Two.

:01:28.:01:33.

There are just 48 hours to go until the big event. Our celebrities will

:01:33.:01:37.

dance through the decades on the biggest dance floor they have ever

:01:37.:01:46.

seen. No pressure then! Let's see This week, we're doing a samba,

:01:46.:01:51.

live at Wembley. I'm going to throw myself into it -

:01:51.:01:56.

it is bouncy, bishopy - that is what it -- it is boppy, that is

:01:56.:02:01.

what I like to do most. It is lively. It is a carnival dance.

:02:01.:02:05.

have to shake this week - it could be a good or a bad thing!

:02:05.:02:10.

hardest thing is getting all the technical stuff in there. Samba

:02:10.:02:15.

rolls - a bit of a miss. Move with your feet. I don't know

:02:15.:02:20.

how to do them. Get the bend right - pushing me and pulling me.

:02:21.:02:27.

your head go. I was throwing Lisa around like a rag doll for a bit.

:02:27.:02:31.

Where I come from - samba - you eat it. This week I am doing the

:02:31.:02:37.

American smooth. I can not wait for this dance. Three big lifts. There

:02:37.:02:42.

are elements with the lifts - risky at times. If you miss it or get

:02:42.:02:46.

your body in the wrong position, there are big problems and you

:02:47.:02:51.

could get seriously injured. With the American smooth it is about 30%

:02:51.:02:56.

in hold and the rest is out of hold. It is not easy. Me being on my own

:02:56.:03:02.

a little bit in this American smooth. I want to try and produce a

:03:02.:03:07.

stylish dance. Come on - this is Wembley, not a small studio any

:03:07.:03:14.

more. It comes off, it could be my best. If it goes wrong, it could go

:03:14.:03:23.

badly wrong. This week we have the jive. It will be fun. It is

:03:23.:03:28.

extremely active. It's all about the kicks and flicks and the flare.

:03:28.:03:33.

You look like you're kicking a ball. I have never, ever seen anybody

:03:33.:03:38.

kick a ball like that! There is turning - the energy has to be as

:03:38.:03:46.

high as possible. Kick and kick and kick and kick. It is so full on.

:03:46.:03:52.

After one performance, you are out of breath. This is probably the

:03:52.:04:02.
:04:02.:04:05.

quickest I have ever thought, never Can they get everybody talking

:04:05.:04:08.

about their jive? Please welcome Nicky and Karen.

:04:09.:04:14.

I must say, anybody who didn't have a crush on you before Saturday

:04:14.:04:20.

night, most surely has now. Were you giddy afterwards? It was great.

:04:20.:04:24.

It was a fun song to do. The opening there - I was counting in

:04:25.:04:29.

my head again - I had Shane in the front row. I thought, don't fall

:04:29.:04:35.

down the stairs! It was a bit of Vegas. I am glad Bruno said Vegas.

:04:35.:04:40.

That is what I was thinking. Having been in a boy band, that is you.

:04:40.:04:48.

Look at me.... It could happen - don't laugh! What are you laughing

:04:48.:04:54.

at!? Charming! Karen, the mic, when you talked last week you said about

:04:54.:04:57.

the microphone during the routine and you threw it away. What

:04:57.:05:01.

happened with the idea? We wanted to surprise you guys. I like it.

:05:01.:05:06.

You are lying to us now! This is what happens though!

:05:06.:05:11.

Brilliant! And you caught it every time and you did every time. It was

:05:11.:05:20.

brilliant! Craig said "Vast improvement." Was that music to

:05:20.:05:25.

your ears? Tess had said something about a standing ovation. I didn't

:05:25.:05:29.

see that. I looked at the judges. Craig said, it wasn't an

:05:29.:05:35.

improvement. I thought, "Not again. Please." And then he said "A vast

:05:35.:05:41.

improvement." Then I did my golf swing - which I think they missed

:05:41.:05:46.

on camera. We put so much effort into getting it right. You don't

:05:46.:05:50.

know what will happen for that minute and 30 seconds. I love the

:05:50.:05:53.

fact you didn't know there was a standing ovation until you watched

:05:53.:05:59.

the show back. When I watched it back that is when I heard Tess say

:05:59.:06:02.

it. You are relieved you got through it at that point as well.

:06:02.:06:09.

Craig is known for his catty remarks, but we think this may be

:06:09.:06:17.

rubbing off on you. Karen makes a hising sound when she is displeased

:06:17.:06:27.
:06:27.:06:51.

with me! It is cat like. HISING THAT MUST BE SLIGHTLY OFF-PUTTING!

:06:51.:06:55.

Wembley this weekend, in case you had not realised, and you are doing

:06:55.:07:01.

the jive. Is it going well? It is going well. I'll be honest. Day one

:07:01.:07:08.

was OK, and then day two was a disaster. Tuesday - it is always

:07:08.:07:13.

the way. Karen told me on Wednesday night, after we got it all through

:07:13.:07:19.

Wednesday, she told me she sped the music up by 10%. Naughty Karen!

:07:19.:07:22.

the hours of Monday night. Tuesday was horrible. I thought, what is

:07:22.:07:29.

going on. She sped it up by 10% and didn't tell me... She's playing

:07:29.:07:33.

with your mind! But it worked. It is probably good.

:07:33.:07:39.

If you did not tell him he would carry on and not complain. She said,

:07:39.:07:46.

we're doing it, we're doing it. Your music is cool.

:07:46.:07:53.

JAILHOUSE ROCK. A bit of Elvis for you. Can you do

:07:53.:07:59.

an Elvis impression for you. Oh, look at that! Are we going to have

:07:59.:08:05.

some Elvis pelvis movement? Is that incorporated into a jive? It is

:08:05.:08:11.

there. It is mostly about the legs. What about the quiff? I have been

:08:11.:08:18.

asked could I go with one. I will probably have to have extra stuck

:08:18.:08:24.

in there but I don't want a Jedward. A weave like Vincent had. This is

:08:24.:08:29.

catching on this week. I am finding it worrying. It will be your first

:08:29.:08:36.

time at Wembley, Karen. Are you excited? I am scared. I am excited,

:08:36.:08:45.

but I am scared. We're not doing the stadium - it's the arena.

:08:45.:08:49.

the arena. The stadium would be truly terrifying. You have your

:08:49.:08:56.

hands there. You have played there loads - there's the Nicky Bar -

:08:56.:09:02.

probably named after you. Is it like going home for you? We played

:09:02.:09:06.

there a lot with Westlife over the years. Our hands are in concrete

:09:06.:09:12.

outside. If I get a moment I will try and see if my hand is still the

:09:12.:09:17.

same size! Do hands grow? This is a discussion for later? Who knows!

:09:17.:09:21.

Good luck with your jive on Saturday. Hopefully you'll be the

:09:21.:09:28.

king and not the heartbreak hotel! It's Nicky and car raen.

:09:28.:09:33.

-- Karen. Noses and ears keep growing. And nails. And hair. Over

:09:33.:09:43.
:09:43.:09:45.

This week, we're doing the samba. I really love the samba. It is such a

:09:45.:09:52.

fun, baup beat dance, with loads -- up beat dance, with loads of energy.

:09:52.:09:57.

It is a dizzy routine. A lot is going on. A lot of shaking.

:09:57.:10:02.

I do feel a lot more comfortable in this style of dance though. I am

:10:02.:10:06.

enjoying shaking it a bit. The little slide will be exciting.

:10:06.:10:13.

The only thing is, I need to make sure that I land on two feet.

:10:13.:10:18.

After last week, I feel like I really need to go through this one

:10:18.:10:21.

and make sure that everybody realises how much I want to stay in

:10:21.:10:27.

this competition. We have the charleston - it is a

:10:27.:10:32.

bit of a tricky one. The one thing I want from Denise is the swive vel

:10:32.:10:42.

in the feet. You have to swivvel both feet at the same time. Women

:10:42.:10:49.

are good at multi--tasking - but that's not my bag. It is like she

:10:49.:10:53.

had lead in her pockets. There is so much to think about, lots of

:10:53.:10:58.

arms and legs. I am struggling to learn it a bit. At the moment, I

:10:58.:11:01.

look like I have two birds talking to me.

:11:01.:11:05.

If I don't get the Egyptian arms right, then this dance will look

:11:05.:11:14.

We have a great dance for the arena - it's the American smooth. That

:11:14.:11:18.

means we can do some lifts and tricks, which on a big floor will

:11:18.:11:24.

be good fun. I am nervous about dropping Flavia and doing different

:11:25.:11:32.

lifts. I have been out of the gym for a bit. I may get a workout

:11:32.:11:36.

lifting Flavia. I am not saying she is heavy or anything! We have been

:11:36.:11:41.

doing this for five or six weeks now. You is to dance with the pain.

:11:41.:11:45.

You have to push yourself. She is used to it. She has built up a

:11:45.:11:53.

tolerance. This is new to me. I am in pain. You can go home and have a

:11:53.:12:03.
:12:03.:12:03.

bath. I cannot go home and have a Two? Time to talk to Vicky Gill.

:12:03.:12:08.

Head of wardrobe. We're going to Wembley this week. I am imagining a

:12:08.:12:13.

huge task for you. It is massive this week. We are hanging on in

:12:13.:12:18.

there. How many costumes do you have to make? 100. 100! You are

:12:18.:12:21.

making all of them. Myself, obviously!

:12:21.:12:25.

It is a team of you in wardrobe. How many all together? There are

:12:25.:12:29.

about 30 people that are core to creating Strictly every Saturday

:12:29.:12:36.

night. It is not a few - it is a lot of hard-working people. In

:12:36.:12:41.

terms of dancers and skaters - we have loads of people that are

:12:41.:12:45.

kicking about in the background. We think, where did that extra person

:12:45.:12:55.
:12:55.:12:55.

come from? They need a frock. have heard men in trunks. Yes.

:12:55.:12:59.

roller-skaters. I cannot go backwards, but I can go forward. If

:12:59.:13:07.

anyone drops out, I'm in. Lisa is doing a samba this weekend. It is

:13:07.:13:15.

Dancing Through the Decades - hers is Rose Royce. Very bright. We have

:13:15.:13:21.

orange and pink upper body. We have crystal stones all over the top

:13:21.:13:27.

half, so she will sparkle. A lot of movement, obviously with the car

:13:27.:13:32.

wash theme. Robin is well again. He is back in the rehearsal room today.

:13:32.:13:36.

That is good news. Victoria is doing a paso doble. She may appear

:13:36.:13:40.

on a bicycle. What she will do, we are not sure. Obviously riding it,

:13:41.:13:46.

but how, we are not sure. You have a Team GB theme. Because the bike

:13:46.:13:51.

was playing part, we thought we should reference it. It has been

:13:51.:13:55.

exciting. A lot of pattern-cutting skills in this number. So the red,

:13:55.:14:01.

white and blue dress is an over- dress, split down the centre, like

:14:01.:14:06.

the cape effect, like Denise. does she have underneath that?

:14:06.:14:11.

white cat suit underneath. I like the sound of this. Excellent! Which

:14:11.:14:17.

dress has taken the most work, time and effort and energy? Collectively

:14:17.:14:20.

Kimberley's dress has taken the most time. We have spoken to a lot

:14:20.:14:26.

of departments, from lighting, to projection. Speaking to lighting

:14:26.:14:30.

about Kimberley's dress. It sound exciting. Apparently it is huge.

:14:30.:14:34.

There is 30 metres in her dress. That is like half of the Wembley

:14:34.:14:40.

floor. We are talking a big dress. Will she do the whole dance in this

:14:40.:14:46.

dress? I hope not. I have not been told yet. I will see this evening,

:14:46.:14:52.

when I am told, it is not working. Mind boggling! It will be a

:14:52.:14:56.

spectacle. OK, who is under the dress this week? Who is under the

:14:56.:15:04.

dress - you know what I mean! I say! There's not much to that dress,

:15:04.:15:09.

is there? What can you tell us? is an Egyptian theme. The couple,

:15:09.:15:16.

they are always having lots of fun and pulling pranks on others or on

:15:16.:15:20.

themselves. Spectacular. I think this week could be your best work

:15:20.:15:24.

yet. Good luck to you and all your angels and evils who are helping

:15:24.:15:32.

you. -- elvess who are helping you.

:15:32.:15:38.

Back to the training room. Move on. This week at Wembley we will dance

:15:39.:15:44.

the paso doble. There'll be some individual dancing.

:15:44.:15:49.

I can't turn that way. At least I can have a mean, moody face of

:15:49.:15:52.

concentration while I am doing it. I think that will be the only thing

:15:52.:15:58.

I cling to. No, no, no, no. I want Victoria to get better at doing

:15:58.:16:03.

things on her own. This could be the week it happens. The paso

:16:03.:16:06.

requires a lot of strength internally and externally. Victoria

:16:06.:16:13.

is good at that. I find being stern and serious a lot easier to do.

:16:13.:16:18.

so powerful. I am confident it will be a good one. It is all about the

:16:18.:16:22.

performance. We are doing a salsa. We'll have a party in front of

:16:22.:16:26.

6,000 people. We are at Wembley - which is brilliant. You want to do

:16:26.:16:30.

the dance justice. Richard has struggled this week, just coming to

:16:30.:16:35.

grips with the salsa. It has been an uphill struggle. No two ways

:16:35.:16:39.

about it. This is a nightmare. is keeping the rhythm of the dance

:16:39.:16:47.

Richard is finding the hardest. is the Latin dance which is most in

:16:48.:16:52.

character. There is a party going in my head. You cannot go around

:16:52.:16:57.

shouting Wembley, unless you have the feet right. Richard can salsa.

:16:57.:17:06.

He has to focus on it. Complete his This week, we are going to be

:17:06.:17:12.

dancing at Wembley. We'll dance to the quickstep. You get a lot of

:17:12.:17:16.

travelling. I picture myself and Dani running around Wembley Arena.

:17:16.:17:20.

I am only five foot one. I am confused as to whether people will

:17:20.:17:26.

see me. I talked to the BBC. They'll have binoculars - all 6,000

:17:26.:17:31.

people! I feel overwhelmed this week. The quickstep is a dance I

:17:31.:17:35.

was dreading. I am getting confused. We've done it every which way now.

:17:35.:17:40.

This is the first time I have seen Dani panicking. It will be OK! It

:17:40.:17:46.

will be OK! I believe in her and that she can do it. I will not get

:17:46.:17:50.

any sleep tonight. I will run the quickstep over and over and over

:17:50.:17:59.

The little munchkins are going to Wembley. Please welcome Dani and

:17:59.:18:05.

Vincent. What a tango it was! It was truly

:18:05.:18:10.

terrific at the weekend. Were you pleased with your performance?

:18:10.:18:13.

was chuffed. It is by far my favourite dance. I loved every

:18:13.:18:17.

second of it. I want to do the tango every week. What a teacher

:18:17.:18:23.

you have! What a teacher I am. Come on!

:18:23.:18:27.

highest score, you are creeping nicely up the leaderboard. I mean,

:18:27.:18:31.

34, that is an amazing score. a huge score. I was not expecting

:18:31.:18:38.

that at all. I loved it so much. I really liked being aggressive and

:18:38.:18:42.

passionate. The actress in you came out in that performance. Vincent,

:18:42.:18:49.

Len picked up on the light and the shade of your choreography. Is it

:18:49.:18:54.

great to be praised for your brilliance? Everything happens by

:18:54.:18:59.

magic on this show. If I think about it, there's no way - it just

:18:59.:19:04.

happens, obviously you give me inspiration. Inspirations!

:19:04.:19:09.

Myself and even at the end, even the public - massive standing

:19:09.:19:14.

ovation at the end. You are just priceless!

:19:14.:19:19.

Also, Vincent, you have been prepared to a sausage sandwich and

:19:19.:19:23.

"finger licking good" you were called on Saturday. How delicious

:19:23.:19:29.

are you, Vincent? How long have you got? It is impossible!. There's no

:19:29.:19:33.

words! Darcey did say a strange thing on Saturday. She said there

:19:33.:19:38.

was a moody teenager - what did you make of that remark? It was

:19:38.:19:43.

interesting, seeing I was a teenager not too long ago. I took

:19:43.:19:52.

it as a compliment in a way. I played tracey Beaker for 11 years.

:19:52.:19:57.

Maybe she made an appearance on Saturday. You are more than a woman

:19:57.:20:02.

to me! He has all the comments today!

:20:02.:20:08.

I'm in love. She's in love! Craig commented that your dance

:20:08.:20:11.

finished a little bit before the music ended. There has been a bit

:20:11.:20:15.

of a problem for you two with speed, generally, in the training room.

:20:15.:20:21.

Look at this. Little people are very powerful. Very fast.

:20:21.:20:26.

Too fast. I'm going to push Dani to the limit. The Strictly speed limit.

:20:26.:20:32.

Preparation. Come on!

:20:32.:20:39.

We're little, but fast and furious. I want it to look like you have

:20:39.:20:44.

little wheels rather than legs. Just little wheels.

:20:44.:20:52.

We are very, very speedy. I'm a little Ferrari!

:20:52.:20:59.

Run like the wind. Only professionals are allowed to

:21:00.:21:07.

do this. Very good! I think that you should do

:21:07.:21:11.

motivational cassettes for people to listen to, your voice talking in

:21:11.:21:15.

their ears. Wembley this weekend then - the quickstep for you and it

:21:15.:21:19.

is a fast one. How are you coping? I am all right now. At the

:21:19.:21:22.

beginning of the week it was horrible. Our terrible Tuesday was

:21:22.:21:27.

probably the worst terrible Tuesday I have ever had. It is really quick.

:21:27.:21:34.

There a -- are a lot of steps. It is called the quickstep for a

:21:34.:21:42.

reason. We had the ped of metre. We counted how many steps. 206 she's

:21:42.:21:46.

doing. Which is apparently a step-and-a-

:21:46.:21:51.

half a second. So, it is quite quick. Are you feeling more

:21:51.:21:55.

confident about the weekend? I am. I cannot wait to get to Wembley.

:21:55.:22:00.

You have never been there before?Vy Never been there in my life -- I

:22:00.:22:06.

have never been there in my life. You must be excited about the whole

:22:06.:22:12.

thing? I can not wait to see the audience. All the women. Let's list

:22:12.:22:22.
:22:22.:22:22.

on the your music for the weekend. YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE

:22:22.:22:32.

Please tell me what you'll be wearing? I don't know if I can cope

:22:32.:22:38.

with a wig! And has it been tricky to

:22:38.:22:43.

choreograph - a big place, two tiny people? I don't know how many steps

:22:43.:22:47.

I can fit in. We have managed to do knit the studio. We need to find

:22:47.:22:53.

out soon really. We need to find out soon. Good luck this weekend.

:22:53.:23:01.

Tomorrow sees the return of Strictly icons Russell Grant and

:23:01.:23:05.

Ann Widdecombe to the floor for a Children In Need special - very

:23:05.:23:11.

special. I will cht with statistics with -- chat with statistics with

:23:11.:23:17.

Russell in a moment. Here is some behind-the-scenes footage. Today

:23:17.:23:21.

we're doing a Children In Need Strictly. I am nervous. I didn't

:23:21.:23:26.

think I would be! Getting close to Christmas, so you want to think

:23:26.:23:30.

about tidings of great joy. I am not sure it will be great joy to

:23:30.:23:34.

the judges to have me back on the dance floor, but here I am, in an

:23:34.:23:42.

gel lick form. Ann-jel-ic!

:23:42.:23:45.

I have never been happier than I am right now. I am dancing with Ann.

:23:45.:23:54.

It is the sunshine of my life. We are being harnessed because we

:23:54.:24:01.

are angels. Ann doesn't want to go very high. I want to go very high.

:24:01.:24:07.

Two Queens will be flying in - I don't mean Bruno and Craig!

:24:07.:24:11.

It is wonderful to be back, so long as Anton remembers not to look at

:24:11.:24:18.

the audience, but to keep telling me what to do!

:24:18.:24:23.

Please welcome Russell Grant. Hello, my darling. You have been

:24:23.:24:28.

very busy, as we saw there, with Children In Need, dancing back in

:24:28.:24:32.

the arms of Flavia. It was so good and against Ann Widdecombe and

:24:32.:24:39.

Anton du Beke. I mean, what competitive spirit! Don't reveal

:24:39.:24:43.

what will happen. We will watch it tomorrow night. You have been very

:24:43.:24:47.

busy. What can you tell us about training hours so far? Training

:24:47.:24:54.

hours - can I stress this is up until the end of play yesterday. Up

:24:54.:25:00.

at the top now - look who has zoomed - dean neez, 26 hours.

:25:00.:25:07.

Michael, he is still up there. He was -- Denise. 26 hours. Michael,

:25:07.:25:17.
:25:17.:25:19.

It is tricky. It is hard. What does this mean for training hours

:25:19.:25:24.

overall? Overall, this is up until the end of play yesterday - please

:25:24.:25:28.

note. Michael couldn't be shifted out of the wicket, when he played

:25:28.:25:34.

for England. He cannot be shifted from the top of Strictly. 254-and-

:25:34.:25:44.
:25:44.:25:48.

a-half hours and Denise is not far Come on, Byrne! Pull your finger

:25:48.:25:54.

out. What other things you have discovered in your investigations?

:25:54.:25:58.

This series is called Strictly Come Dancing. I had a brain wave. It was

:25:58.:26:06.

a ping, a ping came over my head. It said, ee Check out the -- "check

:26:06.:26:16.
:26:16.:26:18.

out the dancers, Rusty." I like that name. That is what Holly

:26:18.:26:25.

called me. Any way, 906 competitive dances. 906! That is a lot of

:26:25.:26:32.

dancing. That is over the past nine series. Want to see the top five.

:26:32.:26:38.

Cha-cha-cha, is at the top. You are our fairy godmother. You can see

:26:38.:26:43.

the rest. That was my Venus coming out of the shell. You were very

:26:43.:26:50.

good at it as well. They are the top-performed dances. What else?

:26:50.:26:56.

This has been unpredictable. Who would have thought Al would have

:26:56.:27:02.

gone out last week! I think we should look at what our couples are

:27:02.:27:12.
:27:12.:27:21.

All the show-stoppers. How do these dances fare? I have been doing some

:27:21.:27:29.

digging and I found... Here are the average scores of dances over the

:27:29.:27:37.

past nine series. Up the top, the American smooth, good for Michael

:27:37.:27:47.
:27:47.:27:52.

-- Louis. So, what does this mean if you add

:27:52.:27:59.

it all together? If you add it all together can work out how unlucky a

:27:59.:28:03.

dance is. We take the number of times it has been performed and

:28:03.:28:07.

look at how many people have been eliminated after it. Then you can

:28:07.:28:11.

work out the elimination percentage. I am glad you've done this. Show

:28:11.:28:15.

your working out, everybody, please!

:28:15.:28:25.
:28:25.:28:34.

nation rates of dancers and look - charleston and samba.

:28:35.:28:39.

charleston, I am surprised about that. Wembley is huge. It is six

:28:39.:28:43.

times bigger than the usual studio. That is another amazing fact.

:28:43.:28:48.

have got to cover all of this. Down here, the luckiest, unlucky dance

:28:48.:28:56.

is the quickstep. 6.3%. That is a tiny elimb nation percentage.

:28:56.:29:05.

look -- elimination percentage. So looking at it - who will be here?

:29:05.:29:09.

Dani's quickstep. This could well be looking at our winner.

:29:09.:29:15.
