Episode 35 Strictly - It Takes Two

Hello, it's Friday, this is It Takes Two, we have a veritable pick

and mix for you. Tomorrow, they tango, Kimberley and Pasha are

here! Nice head turns, I like it! If you

are very good this evening, I'll take you next door and you can have

a peek at Lewis and Flavia's pass sew. If that's not whet your

appetite, these four gentleman certainly will -- Paso. I can't

believe it, it's only Il Divo. This Live from Television Centre, this

and in just 24 hours, 8 minutes and 25 seconds, our remaining eight

couples will be dancing for survival once more. I'll be

chatting to Kimberley and Pasha in a moment, but first a reminder of

their saucy Samba. Yes! I love it when you flash it

and flaunt it! Hotter to the point of fusion...

Kimberley, nice Samba rolls and isolations. You can certainly shake

that Touche! If you're in the dance-off tomorrow

night, I'll pick on my walnuts, I tell you. Fabulous!

Eight.... Better than that. Nine! Our highest score so far. Amazing

progress. I can't believe Len said he'd pick at his walnuts! What does

that mean?! They brought the house down. It was carnival style. Kim

and Pasha! Congratulations, that was an

incredible performance last Saturday. You were working it!

was trying. How much fun us it for you? So much fun. The crowd were

absolutely amazing. As soon as they started dancing, you could feel the

in the rehearsals. Can I just say, you looked incredible in that

weeks in a row is that? It's really good because we are even Stevens

with the Latin and the ballroom so that's good. Some way to two from

there, yes. Yes, somewhere to go. You have gone higher each week. The

last couple standing just before they announced that Nicky and Karen

were in the bottom two, how horrible was that, did you think

you were in the bottom two again? Yes, I so thought we'd be in the

bottom two and I was literally squeezing poor Pasha's hand. I was

trying to mentally prepare myself, I was thinking, how does the dance

start and anyway, we didn't need to, it was good. We would have loved to

have seen it again. Thank goodness. Karen commended you for your

complex choreography, particular think Samba rolls. He is good but

let's not tell him to his face, it will go to his head. (he's very

good) Why are Samba rolls so hard? It's a lot of things mixed up in

one step, you have to work together with your partner, the knees should

be soft, have perfect timing and look and turn your head. But she

did it perfectly. She did it great, yes. I could lfn to you talking

about Samba rolls all night -- I could listen to you. You were

multi-tasking, not only did you have to do that, but your day job

on The Sunday Show with the girls. How was it? It was a full-on

weekend for me but it was amazing and it was nice to bring the two

worlds together because obviously I'm rehearsing all the time so I'm

not getting to see girls, so it was nice. Are they enjoying watching

you on the show and are they voting, more importantly? Definitely voting

and really enjoying it. They are really encouraging me actually.

Tango for you this week. Lots of head turns, lots of flicks. A

little birdie tells me you keep laughing in practise. She's off

again. It's very serious and you can't keep that serious the whole

time. I do love it but then... not? When you look at me so serious,

it just makes me laugh. You are supposed to be in character. Is it

when he was trying to be the scary wolf? Yes. Give us your scary face.

It's doing it for me. Is there a story in your routine? We always

love a story? There is a story. It's like a couple who has a little

argument and she's trying to run away with another man. Trying... I

don't know who it's going to be yet, maybe Bruno or Len, I haven't

worked it out. You see, now she has choices! Last year you did very

well with Chelsee with this dance, can you get up this week? We'd love

to move a little bit with our scores but we are going to go for

it tomorrow night, we real hi love this dance. It will be a really

good dance. If she can keep serious. It will be scary on the night so

she will be serious. It was your birthday on Tuesday, happy birthday

to Kimberley for Tuesday. We thought about it, what can we give

a girl who has everything. We struggled a bit then came up with

this week? Yes, it's fine. I had three sessions of physio this week

and it's feeling loads better. are becoming a real dancer. I am.

And also you met the Queen this week? I met the Queen, yes. It was

amazing actually. Is she a fan of the show? I didn't ask her but I

know that Charles watches it so you never know, maybe she does.

Last week, wiggle the pig for -- we are putting our trust into the mass

Just for me that was! You are not supposed to tell. Next I'll be on

of the people getting things off their chest. Flavia. Haue re.

have a confession to make. Before every performance, I have to

have a 25 minute nap. This could be anywhere, it could be on a busy

street, in a car park, on a sofa, on the floor in a corridor, but I

have to have 25 minutes' sleep and I can sleep anywhere. Before I

dance, I have to, have to, have to use a special oil on my shoes and I

have to brush them. I have an obsession with odd numbers. Every

number in my life has to be odd. For example, I have a tattoo of a

seven on my left wrist. My dance bracelets have to be an odd number.

Also when I set up my alarm, it has to be at 7.53. So I'm an odd person.

It's not real. Hello! We are in the big studio. It's Friday which, by

now you will have realised, is the first time our celebrities get to

dance on the big floor which is scary, speaking from experience.

All the other celebs are watching. We have a sneaky peek of Lewis and

lovelys. I say, that's looking amazing. It's looking amazing.

Thank you. How are you both? Good. Recovered. We are going to talk

about the paso in a minute, but firstly Wembley looked absolutely

amazing your routine out on the floor. How was it to dance in front

of 6,000 people? It was scary, a brilliant experience. Wembley was

so massive, the atmosphere was so alive in there, but very nerve-

racking. Were you more nervous? was probably as nervous there as I

was at the Olympic Games. You, young lady causing controversy on

Strictly Come Dancing. Every week. Who knew the quickstep was not the

foundation for a normal American smooth? It's not, but we like to be

different, don't we? Some people said you took a gamble. What do you

feel about that? I thought Wembley, big floor, perfect for the

quickstep, add some lifts in, you know, it will be a great

opportunity to do that dance on such a big floor. So why not?!

it was fantastic. You've had so much support of people loving the

fact you took a risk there. Josephine says, I thought the

routine was fantastic, it pushed boundary, great to see something

different. Craig was on your side for once, was that a surprise?

Shock. I wasn't expecting what he said to come out of his mouth. I

was preparing myself for the worst but it was nice. Yes. What did you

make of Darcey's tacky tricks comment? Bit bizarre really. I

don't know how you can call a skill like that tacky. We were dancing

also at that point in the music, to very modern rap-like music almost.

I thought it was perfect. It's different. We are in Wembley so if

ever I'm going to show off Lewis's talent and ability it's at Wembley

in front of 6,000 people. Gymnastics would normally take

place in a place like that. Was it fun? It was. Strictly isn't the

type of place where you can show breakdancing but there's a time and

a place and that was it. We have been clever at using his skills at

the right time without it being overloaded and I thought, Wembley,

people want to see that and we had a bright little moment in the music

to do it. And we loved it. You have said it's a scary experience. I

know how that feels going out there in front of all these people. You

compared it to starring in your own It feels like being in a report

report film, you are trying to run away and you are not getting

anywhere. Come on, Lewis. Help me. She's relentless. She doesn't stop.

It's like the Blair witch project. Leave me alone. Help. Stop watching

me. Shhhh... Whoa. Down. Do you feel bad? What

about? Making nice people in pain. I will always die at the end.

I'm worried about anything, it's getting out alive.

Terrifying it is the whole experience. Paso this weeks, a real

fiery dance. Is it good to have something you can get your teeth

into? Yes, it's a macho dance. You caught a bit there where I said I

always die at the end. Nice cakework skills, doing well. We had

a competition didn't we? Between the two of you? Yes, he's better

than me at that. Who is coming out on top so far? We'll see. He says

he's better than me though. have amazing music this week,

Michael Jackson. Have you noticed he's working harder because he love

this is record? It's been really difficult playing the song and

making him do a paso and not dance like Michael Jackson. Glad you've

got some Jacko moves, can we see Oh, yes. Shamon! Woo... Watch him

go! Very good. Very good. Flavia, your turn? That's not in the paso,

no. You can't incorporate Jacko into paso can you? I'm sure she can

if she worked hard enough, go on! It's getting near orthe final and

tougher and it feels like anybody could be in the bottom two. How

much would you love to get to the final now? I would love that for me

and Flav. The competition's hotting up. We need to put in a moonwalk to

get into the final. No, maybe next week. Good luck. It will be amazing.

Lewis and Flavia! And so, we go from 14 couples down

to eight and it's getting harder and harder to say goodbye.

As the weeks go on, you start saying goodbye to your friends who

leave the competition and it gets tougher and tougher. You don't want

people to leave, but we all know that this is what the show is about

and that at any time it could be any of us. The hardest thing about

your friends leaving the show is that when we come back at the

weekend they're not there and we all lean on each other and root for

each other. I don't like that. Everybody brings different qualitys

to the group. When somebody leaves, part of the jigsaw is missing.

hard to say goodbye to a couple every week. As the competition's

going on, we are becoming one big happy family. People that leave the

competition early, they feel they've got so much more to give.

Everybody cried on that dance floor. That family environment is there

and nobody wants to say gie and it's getting harder and harder --

say goodbye. Watching the eliminated couples' last dance is

so emotional because you are having a moment between themselves knowing

they are never going to dance together again and hopefully they

know we are all there with them. It's like a slap in the face to

make you realise that anyone can leave. It's sad, you know, then you

go down and join them and you commiserate with them. It's not a

nice feeling to say goodbye. It's getting emotional! Time now

though to welcome perhaps the most international Friday panel we have

ever had. Four very talented handsome young men from four

different countrys who've sold sold over 26 million albums worldwide.

courtesying. Welcome to the show. You are bringing out your greatest

hits album. One wof the sons you performed on the show last year,

That was a very long note you held there! When you have such a huge

back catalogue, how do you choose what goes on the greatst hits, is

there a scrap that goes on amongst you? No, but it gets difficult to

make a choice. We have chosen the stuff we know that the audience

enjoy the most from the live shows, then we have a few suggestions,

that's why we recorded a few new tracks as well. A few treats for us

as well. Like it. You are a massive fan of Strictly aren't you? I love

the discipline of it and the challenge. Is there a particular

dance that you like as your favourite? Something I really loved

watching lately because we were in Beunos Aires in South America

touring and we just finished actually and went to see some tango

and I thought that was absolutely amazing, the coordination, it's so

central, I mean I think it's just a beautiful dance. Michael is

performing on the show tomorrow night. We'll have a look at that.

David, would you be on Strictly, would you ever be a contestant on

that kind of show? Before I answer that question,, a little birdie's

told me that today is a very special day for you. Oh, right,

Amazing. Not her, him?! Sorry. It's always something that surprises me,

the kicking, you know. The little flicks, yes. You'd better know how

to control that thing. Especially for the gentlemen I would imagine.

It's like what Pasha says before, it's the challenge and then, if you

lift that out that,'s the song that needs kicks at the beginning.

candy..." You are twitching your nose. I don't feel flare. They got

the moves going on, but I'm wondering if the track will suit

them. OK. Let's talk about Lewis and Flavia who're doing a paso to

Michael Jackson, Dirty Diana. It's a very macho masculine dance. You

should know all about the paso? It's difficult to dance the paso

with a Michael Jackson song for sure but yes, they do it amazingly

well. Can you see him as a Mata Dor? Yes, I can, yes.

You have to stick your bum in apparently, that's what they've

told us. Lisa and Robin are doing the dance of love rumba, gentlemen.

They are doing it to a track of a good friend of yours, Barbara

Streisand. I saw you in LA with her, it was amazing, I sobbed the whole

way through it. Does this suit the dance of love do you think,

Sebastien? Looks quite... Very short to judge! A bit longer on the

night! So far very good. I would love to see more of it. I know. You

will tomorrow night 6.30, BBC One. Denise and James are doing an

American smooth. They got the first tens of the series last week,

dancing to Eva Cassidy's version of Imagine. What do you think? Is this

lots of fun. How is Nicky doing? Amazing. He's got good swivel.

in the rhythm, I think he'll be doing well tomorrow. Do you know

Westlife? Yes. Tour buddies, what goes on on tour stays on tour. Dani

and Vincent will be doing Beyonce tomorrow, all the single ladies.

This is going to be a goody. It will be a goody. Carlos, what do

you make of this? She's the dark horse of the competition, a lot of

people are saying? She has a lot of great movement in the body, yes,

she's shaking it well, the body. She'll be very chuffed with that.

And Kimberley and Pasha who were just on the show are dancing the

tango. David, she's been a consistent performer, never been

top of the leaderboard. Do you think looking at her tango that

this could be her week, David? has a lot of attitude going on and

I think you need that in the tango, you need to have that passion show

up and it's a quote by Bernstein who said "When the passion is too

much for speaking you have to sing, when the passion is too much for

singing you gotta dance" and you can see it right there. On that

note, we should end the show on a quote so special, but they're all

the dances this week, I would like a name from you as to who you think
