Episode 53 Strictly - It Takes Two

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's It Takes Two on the show tonight. Our

very own answer to Ginger Rogers, Dani Harmer and Vincent are here.

Also exciting. Campaigning for their friends, to see them win in

the final, we have Joe Swash, Nicola Roberts and Emma Willis.

Louis Smith's mate, Zoe Smith, the weight-lifter for the Olympics will

be coming in to campaign for him but she missed the bus. Also his

last Waite's Wednesday warm-up. Make the most of him. Ian Waite is

I will be chatting to Dani and Vincent in a moment but first here

is a reminder of how they cemented their place in the final with two

spectacular performances. You know, the more I see you dance,

the more I like what I see. Len is definitely right. You carry

on like this and your wish may come true.

Flewout the dance, you create a beautiful quality. Very elegant,

very chic. You captured the mood. You mastered the technique and for

me you stole my heart. You got up, my darling, you are a lady.

Two tens again. I can't believe it. Yeah, we got one each. One for you

and one for me. Please welcome the foxy little Daz letter and his

prter in, Dani, Vincent and Dani. -- dazzler and his partner.

I can't believe it. I have to pinch myself. How do you do it? With your

help. Just a little help. You kicked off the show. It must be

nerve-wrecking going out there first. You did your American. It

was glorious. Were you pleased? -- your American smooth. Ye, I loved

it, the song and my dress. That's been my favourite. It is really

nerve-wrecking going first but in a which it is nice to get the fist

one over and done with quickly. -- in a way. Then you can relax until

you come on for the second. No. Relaxing on Saturday but it was fun.

You did, that brilliant scores, then Vincent, wow, with the

Argentine tango. What happened? You sexy beast. Steady on. Very brave

to do the start and the beginning with no music, how impressed were

you with Dani's skills? I wanted to do the tango before the semi-final

because we would have had more time to rehearse the dance but I wasn't

too sure. Obviously the tango works better with mature people and so on,

but hello, she did so well She has matured. She has got much older

since we started. Weeks older. can tell. You of course got two

tens as well. I loved you saying "one each", and of course yu stole

Len's heart. I Z-- you stole. I did. I'm not giving it back. Not just

your dancing is getting rave reviews. Oh, no, you two have been

branch out, I hear, into musicals. Reach for the stars. McGuinness

miaow. No, no, no, go. -- Mamma M ia.

Every now and then I fall apart. # I'm in the mood... # Brilliant

fun. I love her and Vincent, very enjoyable to watch.

I can see you taking that show on the road, frankly. This weekend, in

case you didn't know already, folks, three dances in the final. So

exciting. Let's discuss the judges' choice. They have koosen the tango.

Is that a good thing? -- chosen? is, it was the first time we danced

a dramatic dance. Up until then we did happy dances and fast and

furious. This one was so dramatic and intense. We both loved the song

and consider graphy. We are happy. From the judges' comments last time,

they loved it. They said there were a couple of performances, it was

just the ending bit and Darcey said she wanted more of a feisty woman,

not a teenager. I'm taking care of that. I don't wish to know. I'm on

the case. Do you feel you have matured as a dancer. Browne yes was

saying you really have. -- Bruno. I think I have matured a lot.

Obviously when we did that first time, it feels like a million years

ago now. I am more confident. Hopefully it'll be ten times better.

I like the "ten" times better. ten from Len, is what we want. Your

choice is - I'm reading here - the jive. Happy days for us. We all

absolutely loved this. What was it you particularly loved about this

one? Vincent's wig. That's the only reason why we are doing it again.

If we do get to the final three, this will be our last dance we get

to do together. We had so much fun the first time around and we love

the dance and we do love Vincent when he is the Fonz.

I'm hoping it will be enhanced. A foot tall. Definitely. Show dance,

in the final it is all about the show dance. You have an incredible

IT IS -- It is difficult to choreograph. The original song is

about one-and-a-half hours' long. So we had to cut it down. It is

powerful. The dance on its own, if we can do it, it'll be amazing, if

we do do it. If we could. We will. The judges said they wanted more

surprises for you. They want the unexpected. Will they get that in

this showdance do you think? I hope so. I'm pretty shur they will.

Look at you in your Christmas jumper. What I don't understand,

you told everybody to wear a Christmas jumper and you are not

wearing one. I'm sorry. The whole crew are wearing them. I'll tweet a

picture later. This is the final this weekend, how excited are you?

A really exciting final, more than ever before because anybody could

win it. They are all so good. It's so even. I don't think we've ever

had a final this even, and four couples, not three or two. A lot of

dances. Let's talk about them all. First of all teledance and the

much-anticipated showdance. Louis and flafia. They have given

him criticism he needs to up his performance - Flavia. They are

dancing to Rule The World by Take That. It builds up. A great emotive

song. They haven't done Argentine tango. I see Flavia put that at the

beginning and then it goes into rumba. What I wanted to point out

was here. I think I know what is coming. Louis' arms. I'm trying to

be positive but there are a if you negative things. He needs to use

them right to the end of his fingertips. Going out. That's it.

He has the feeling but he needs to finish off. I imagine it'll be

spectacular. I've heard things. Kimberley and Paddy Ashdownia. If

Kimberley has any weaknesses -- and Pasha. I don't know how you can say

she has as she has got two 40s, but apparently her core. I did say a

couple of weeks ago that the core let her down occasionally. But here

they are doing different intricate lift work here. Although they were

just walking through it, but you can see there will be interesting

stu. What I thought was an interesting fact was that Pasha

made the final lastier and he probably has an advantage. Then I

thought Flavia made the final but so did Vincent and James. All the

pros... But none have won it. They want it so much. Denise and James.

I imagine the showdance will be spectacular. Unbelievable lift work

at the beginning. A very dramatic intro. I stopped it here. I want

you to see the crucifix line they do. Look at the shape and the

strength in her body. So straight and strong. Unbelievable. It is so

good but I think we should give them a Christmas cracker.

dance. This is what a showdance is about. The lift work and drama.

Fantastic. Dani and Vincent need to pull out all the stops, obviously

in the showdance. How is she looking? This looks like a good

dance for her. I think Bohemian rhapsody with changes in the music.

Perfect for a showdance. Unfortunately I'm going to zoom in

there. I say! I did stop it in an embarrassing clip. She could do

with a little bit more lift in her body to make the position. She

probably needs Father Christmas to help her there. Push her up.

of the Strictly family. This time it's Karen Hauer. Hi guys, welcome

to my crib. Welcome to my little apartment. This is my living

room/choreography room. This is my boyfriend Kevin. All right He is

also my dance partner. He helps me choreograph. So this is my special

little candlecorner. I love the smell of red apple. Smell that.

This one is my favourite. That's so good, really. Can you smell it? Can

you smell it? Do you wanted to, like, wipe the candle off your

nose? These are my fabulous little speakers. We have some here and

some up in the ceiling and some in the corner and unfortunately we

have one that went down due to a nice kick in the jive. Sorry. This

is my bedroom. Oh, OK. Yeah, this is where I don't get to spend any

time. SNORES

Nobody panic. I am not pulling out my hair. This are my extensions

from Strictly come dancing. I have never used them before until I get

to the show. Could make a nice beard. Maybe eyebrows, maybe actual

hair. This is my kitchen. I have rehearsal really soon, so why don't

we cook up something really quick? It's supposed to be made from

scratch. But I have no time to scratch. Eat whatever your loved-

one cooks. Always good to have some veggies. Kids, eat your vegetables.

Cooking is something I always miss doing. I'm always travelling,

Monday through Thursday. So whenever I do get a chance to cook,

I feel normal. I think it's burning. Cop on, baby, food is burning,

burnt food. Yummy in my tummy. Nice. There you guys have it. I have to

go to rehearsal soon so I'm going to spend some quality time with my

gentlemen, welcome. Campaigning for Kimberley it's Girls Aloud Nicola

Roberts. And for Dani Harmer, actor Joe Swash. For Denise, presenter

Emma Willis. And in Louis' corner, it's Olympian, Zoe Smith.

Hello. We have much to discuss. Let's get on. First you, Emma.

Denise started the competition so strong. She is brilliant, let's

face it. She is impeccable. She is. She has been in the bottom two for

the last two weeks. Do you think she can turn it around? I do. I

think for the past couple of weeks maybe show has been in the bottom

two because of the speculation that has been going around on whether

she has danced or trained. A lot have had dance training and been on

stage. Yeah, exactly. Why should it matter? It is not like she was a

professional dancer. She has come a long way and has worked her butt

off. She does. She has done 100 hours' more training than anyone

else. That might not be a correct fact. I think people should vote

for what they are watching. Did you say community service? Nick larks

you have known Kimberley for ten years. You know her so well. She

took a knock about six weeks ago in the dance-off. How much have you

seen your confidence grown since then? Massively. I think in a sense

she didn't need that but I think it really shook her up. I remember

once she'd been in the bottom two I saw her on the corner crying, bless

her, outside. She was so upset. She's really thrown everything into

it, that she just - I feel like it kind of really spurred her on and

we all shook her up and she came back. And look what has happened in

the last two weeks. Amazing. Two full scores. Joe, you work with

gorgeous Dani. How far do you think she has come? Dan has come a

million miles much she is amazing. She is doing pant yes at the moment.

She is coming back and forthfrom York. Doing that as well? Yes.

didn't know that. In between she is fitting in training. Out of all of

them, dan is the one - I never had high hopes for Dan, but when you

see her dance, she's amazing, she is amazing. You are supposed to be

on her side, Swash. I am. She has been on a journey, you know what I

mean. When you get friends who are too close to them on the show you...

You get emotional. Zoe, you have known Louis for a long time, how

much has he surprised you how much he wants to win? Massively.

Obviously being a competitor he is going to be a competitive guy

anyway but I know he has worked so hard and come such a long way.

Coming from a sporting background it is harder to learn sort of -

yeah we don't do the performance side of things. You don't do the

faces. We are not very acty people. I know he has come such a long way

in that respect and has put everything into it. I think he has

done really well. They are doing well so far. Let's talk about one

of their dances in particular. We'll focus on their favourite.

Denise and James have chosen the Charleston. She was the first to

get tens at Wembley. What was so special for you? Could you see how

much fun she was having. She is old school showbiz. She loves being out

there and performing. You can see she's putting her all into it and

having a blas. She's at Wembley. -- blast. She is quite camp. You can

say that. Very jazz hands. Perfect for this show. But perfect for

performing at Wembley. Let's help she gets a ten from Craig this time.

Nick larks Kimberley and Pasha have cloosen to do the tango again. --

Nicola, Kimberley and Pasha have chosen. Why did you love this so

much for her girl? She looks so elegant her show dance is to

Beyonce. Which one? Crazy In Love. She knows more than we. I think she

has chosen that bus it shows a different side from the show dance.

-- because. She loves the song and dance and how it made her feel.

Have you had a say in the choices of the music? We've discussed it.

like it. Joe, Dani and Vincent have picked their jive as their

favourite. Was this the point where she came the dark horse of the

competition? She was spot on with everything she done and it

surprised everyone. She is so fast along the dancefloor. I think out

of all of them she is the one who has been on the journey. The J-word

the second time. Third time and you are off. The journey has been

amazing. Zoe for you, Louis is going to be doing the Charleston.

That's his choice. A stand-out moment. It was the moment that

suddenly he embraced the camp faces? Absolutely. When you look at

him now, it looks like he is having a good time. You can see it in his

face. Yeah, he's really come out of his shell in a way, I think in this

dance. He surprised you, didn't he? Come on, Louis. I'll give awe

special treat for campaigning. I will give you -- give you a special

treat. Ten seconds to talk to the viewers at home and get them to

vote for your partner - you know what I mean, for your mate. Are you

technically the best not because of the West End and theatre schools it

is because she trains so hard. She deserves to win Strictly 2012.

nation to do the right thing and crown her the winner this weekend.

She's tried so hard. Put everything into it. I think she's the one that

come out of his shell now and do the right thing and vote for him.

Well done, very special. Please welcome back for the final time,

when I'm in the cheese aisle of the super market, the man everyone

wants for Christmas, Ian Waite. Let's look at our couples and their

judges' pick dances. For Louis and Flavia, the salsa. That was an

amazing dirty dancing movement Len only gave him a six. How can I do

it better? More of his personality. He is a little bit careful. That's

the trouble. Making it too formal. Salsa is all about movement. Come

on. It's our favourite. Dance with me. I can't do salsa, it makes me

go funny. Kimberley and Pasha and their Viennese waltz. This is what

the judges have chosen for them again. Two nines. Can she get a

full house? A great dance the first time. I thought they were

undermarked the first time. They are just walking through it at the

moment. I wanted to point out this moment here. She is slightly off

her billion there on her heel-turn. She -- off her balance. She needs

to put her hand on him properly. She needs to finish off the hands

in the deltoid. That's the nice bit. As long as you've had a shower.

Denise and James will be doing their jive again. I mean this was

brilliant first time they did it. Can she do it any better than the

last time? A fantastic dance for her. She has neat feet. Very fast.

That's what you need in jive. She's compact. She has the right energy

for this dance. Even after 12 weeks she still has that energy. And with

the extra knowledge and understanding throughout the weeks

she'll be better. A few points, point one a nice short connection,

what I want to see. Point two, the bum picked up underneath here.

Point three is that she's matching him perfectly in the knees and leg

and bending at the right time. Point four, get up on the balls of

her feet. Balls of her feet. Not like this, clearly. Oh, I'm going

to miss you. Dani and Vincent will be doing their tango again. You

were really impressed with her footwork in this, weren't you?

A great compact dance for them. The first time around I saw this, great

acting, she was a moody teenager, what Darcey said. I'm sure she hasm

toured since then. She wanted a feisty woman. -- has matured.

is a fantastic swivel with flicks and a lovely Ron day here. -- ronda.

Matching perfectly. Well done, Dani, lovely. It'll be incredible the
