Musicals Week produced one show stopper after another and if it's

:00:57.:01:04.

an encore you're after you've come to the right place.

:01:05.:01:09.

Sadly, one couple had to bow out early but they'll be getting

:01:10.:01:12.

a glowing review from us, it's Judge Rinder and Oksana!

:01:13.:01:14.

Also joining us tonight, she's got the best top

:01:15.:01:22.

line in the business, it's Darcey Bussell!

:01:23.:01:27.

Now, it was a quarter final musical extravaganza at the weekend

:01:28.:01:34.

and our It Takes Two elves slipped in through the stage door

:01:35.:01:37.

Curtains up, it is Musicals Week. It is the quarterfinals and everyone is

:01:38.:02:09.

bringing their best. I am no good at that thigh slapping, acting musical

:02:10.:02:20.

stuff. Week 11, calamity Jane. The music, the costume, everything goes

:02:21.:02:25.

up a notch. It is genuinely magic. I am not cool. That's why you have the

:02:26.:02:33.

jackets, as soon as he put it on, you are cool. It has to be so

:02:34.:02:41.

precise. I did fall in practice. It was only a little fall. Musicals

:02:42.:02:50.

week is hard for the costumes department. We are all a bit

:02:51.:02:55.

frantic. I have been turned into a Green, of wicked witch. How long did

:02:56.:03:02.

that take you? About 40 minutes, 20 minutes with just my hands. When I

:03:03.:03:08.

signed up for Strictly come I thought I would look pretty. Now I

:03:09.:03:18.

am a pretty lion. They are letting him sing. This is a good thing,

:03:19.:03:31.

right? I am so excited. I have got to make some words come out. Mary

:03:32.:03:40.

Poppins. Beauty and the beast. Who is the beast? I am not sure how many

:03:41.:03:48.

people knew Anton could sing. They will all be very shocked. Five

:03:49.:03:59.

minutes until we go live. Five minutes until we go live. This is my

:04:00.:04:12.

job. You are in my favourite shirts. Seven! Bros. What a disappointment.

:04:13.:04:27.

It is showtime, so let's welcome our Strictly stars.

:04:28.:04:40.

After 11 weeks of pure unadulterated joy,

:04:41.:04:45.

Before we close this case let's have a quick

:04:46.:04:48.

reminder of Judge Rinder and Oksana's last dance.

:04:49.:05:20.

Rob just said, don't make me cry. But I think I have gone already. Let

:05:21.:05:44.

it out. Don't hold it in. What a night. You saucy mover. It was

:05:45.:05:57.

brilliant. I love it your Samba. We loved it, I thought it is going to

:05:58.:06:01.

be a challenging week, so I thought let's have fun. We really did. It

:06:02.:06:06.

was the first week I wasn't nervous at all. Somebody I loved in my life

:06:07.:06:13.

who had passed away and earlier in the day I got a text message saying

:06:14.:06:19.

this was her favourite song. Something that happened, the Alchemy

:06:20.:06:23.

changed and the moment the music came on, I just had the most fun I

:06:24.:06:28.

possibly could. The energy of the audience, the nice thing about the

:06:29.:06:33.

programme, you feel it here, you feel if they do, every person in the

:06:34.:06:38.

show. The runners that run after you all day, casting, to everybody. The

:06:39.:06:43.

love and passion permeate into the show. People don't sit there and

:06:44.:06:48.

want you to do badly. They are willing you to do well. That is what

:06:49.:06:52.

it felt like and it was the most fun. Your friend was with you in

:06:53.:06:58.

spirit. She would have been very proud. Oksana, bless you. I will try

:06:59.:07:04.

to talk to you in a cruel fashion. It is your favourite dance, the

:07:05.:07:10.

Samba? It was. And since we had to go, it was a great dance to go out

:07:11.:07:19.

on. It was very good. You looked beautiful, even beautiful crying.

:07:20.:07:25.

Did you feel it might be coming, bottom two last week. When it is

:07:26.:07:30.

down to only five, it is tough. Sure, there is a strong possibility

:07:31.:07:34.

we would end up in the dance off. There was a good chance of it. Look

:07:35.:07:46.

at the level, it was the strongest. Something you can feel proud of,

:07:47.:07:52.

looking at where you have come from? The first week, she looked at me and

:07:53.:07:55.

the first day going, goodness me, what on earth are we going to do. I

:07:56.:08:02.

am a big fan of the show, a big fan of this programme and I used to

:08:03.:08:06.

listen to people talking about their journey and think, goodness. But

:08:07.:08:11.

genuinely, that is what we have been through. I said it every week and I

:08:12.:08:15.

meant it from the bottom of my heart. She has taught me. She has

:08:16.:08:24.

taught me to love dancing and held my hand the whole time. When

:08:25.:08:29.

somebody teaches you to love something, you never forget that. It

:08:30.:08:33.

is such a generous thing to do. I have loved every minute of it. I am

:08:34.:08:39.

sure people have responded to it. They really have a lot of love in

:08:40.:08:46.

the room for you tonight. I can see people with tears in their eyes. I

:08:47.:08:50.

know how much you love Darcey Bussell and she is on later tonight.

:08:51.:08:54.

She did say on that Saturday, you are such an individual and she loves

:08:55.:09:00.

what you do. Everybody got such joy from watching you perform each week.

:09:01.:09:06.

I think if you put 100% into anything, do it with authenticity

:09:07.:09:09.

and enthusiasm, that really comes through. One of the things I don't

:09:10.:09:16.

think people know, it has been such a challenge for Oksana. It has been

:09:17.:09:21.

a struggle for her to find time. You tried to teach something you know

:09:22.:09:24.

how to do in five minutes and you will spend a week with somebody. I

:09:25.:09:30.

keep making the same mistake. Imagine having that degree of

:09:31.:09:34.

patience, generosity of spirit, laughter and want to share that? I

:09:35.:09:39.

am working full time most of the time, we sometimes start at 7am and

:09:40.:09:46.

finish at nine p.m.. So often she isn't able to start teaching until

:09:47.:09:49.

9:30pm until sometimes 12 o'clock at night. By which point you have spent

:09:50.:09:57.

the best of your energy. He keeps it for dancing. We have loved watching

:09:58.:10:07.

you. I said it on Saturday night, I will say it again, I watch this show

:10:08.:10:13.

and I am a fan of it. You have no idea as to what goes into it, and

:10:14.:10:19.

you can feel the passion. It is such a joy. Don't start me off!

:10:20.:10:21.

Well, you've certainly done your community service

:10:22.:10:22.

because the nation was well and truly entertained for 11 weeks.

:10:23.:10:25.

Let's take a look at your Strictly Story.

:10:26.:10:30.

Your partner is... Oksana she is going to be a taskmaster, which I am

:10:31.:10:39.

thrilled by. Robert needs to be careful what he wishes for. Oksana,

:10:40.:10:49.

gosh. You are late. You need a time-out right now. Facial

:10:50.:10:58.

expressions darling you really need to look at that. That was the while

:10:59.:11:05.

the surprise I think I ever had. This week is the American Smooth.

:11:06.:11:09.

Oksana will make sure I get the frame right. This is crazy, who

:11:10.:11:18.

stands like this. It is like that Marge to a statue. Look at your

:11:19.:11:23.

face, it still annoying. I love that place. Always funny and great to

:11:24.:11:38.

watch. I am completely falling in love with dancing. It is quite

:11:39.:11:44.

surprising. Your facial expressions are on the top, darling and

:11:45.:11:49.

improving. There is a delicious dancer hidden underneath all that.

:11:50.:11:58.

Full of energy and enthusiasm. That was as tight as a beautiful boy's

:11:59.:12:05.

cheek. Just before I am about to dance, I think to myself, Robert, do

:12:06.:12:11.

try and not look like a Laurent. You have come out again as strong,

:12:12.:12:19.

powerful and meaningful. -- Laurent. I think I got the best partner in

:12:20.:12:26.

the whole competition. I struggle to find the adjectives to describe

:12:27.:12:30.

Oksana. My God, I am welling up. Every time we dance together, I am

:12:31.:12:36.

just happy about the work. She is extraordinary. This week is a F, I

:12:37.:12:43.

decided to do Strictly for this dance. It is the dance I did with my

:12:44.:12:52.

grandma years ago. You should be proud. Your best dance. It is an

:12:53.:13:02.

nine. Getting an nine from Len, meant the world. We are a great

:13:03.:13:09.

team. Judge Rinder really can shake it. It is Blackpool, you have got to

:13:10.:13:18.

pull it out of the bag. You were spicier and hotter than a scotch

:13:19.:13:23.

bonnet. What a way to end a fantastic night. This is the Rumba,

:13:24.:13:29.

I was apprehensive about it. The technique has to be quite right.

:13:30.:13:39.

Judge Rinder has an interesting way he holds his hands. It is natural to

:13:40.:13:46.

him. I am going to tape them like this. It looks a bit awkward. You

:13:47.:13:51.

didn't look as steady on your feet, it wasn't your best dance. In the

:13:52.:13:57.

dance off is Judge Rinder and Oksana. We brush ourselves off and

:13:58.:14:02.

we are ready to do the samba this week. Strictly is like nothing I can

:14:03.:14:07.

describe. It is euphoria with glittery jazz hands.

:14:08.:14:13.

A little bit stilted. I've got to say, fantastic energy. Your hip

:14:14.:14:22.

action, darling. Your bottom was bouncing for Brazil. Judges, it's

:14:23.:14:35.

time to decide. I would like to save Ore and Joanne. Ore and Joanne.

:14:36.:14:38.

Thank you so much. I had an incredible time and I'm especially

:14:39.:14:41.

grateful for making this partnership happen.

:14:42.:14:48.

It's so beautiful. 11 amazing dancers. Something lovely Rob said

:14:49.:14:59.

every week, always talked about you being a great teacher, what is the

:15:00.:15:03.

key to being the teacher in this experience, Oxon? First, he taught

:15:04.:15:11.

me how to play piano. You're joking, ring in the organ, give us a tune! I

:15:12.:15:18.

wanted to learn how difficult it was to teach something to somebody that

:15:19.:15:21.

you know how to do and it was tough, I lasted half an hour. He wanted me

:15:22.:15:26.

to understand what it felt like to learn something that you don't know

:15:27.:15:31.

how to do. No, but so much. I guess I can say, doesn't matter how late

:15:32.:15:39.

it is, how tired he is, how frustrated both of us are, the

:15:40.:15:43.

respect and complete dedication to being at the moment and taking every

:15:44.:15:48.

word that I say, he did it. Well done, you. Goodness me. When you

:15:49.:15:55.

look back at all those dances, you were so good at so many of them,

:15:56.:16:00.

foxtrot, could you pick out a standout moment? Two, the jive I

:16:01.:16:04.

think was our game changed, I learned how to count. And that was

:16:05.:16:14.

the week I really understood, everything clicked into place, like

:16:15.:16:20.

learning a language. Exactly so. And I loved the foxtrot of course. What

:16:21.:16:26.

was not on there so much was the quickstep. The best thing every week

:16:27.:16:30.

was when you get to the end of the dance and it has gone well. I

:16:31.:16:35.

described it as euphoria but it is this sort of joy, it renders me and

:16:36.:16:41.

articulate. It could power the world. It was just heaven. And I'm a

:16:42.:16:50.

very stiff upper lip kind of guy. If you'd told me two years ago that I'd

:16:51.:16:55.

get weepy over a dance competition, I'd have said, don't be such a mini,

:16:56.:17:00.

Robert. But I've been completely invested in it. Because when you are

:17:01.:17:05.

with somebody like that, what more can you do? You have been such a

:17:06.:17:10.

joy, the two of you, one of my favourite partnerships. Well done,

:17:11.:17:15.

thank you so, so much, Judge Rinder and Oksana. Beautiful. Like a wise

:17:16.:17:28.

man once said. Don't ask me which one.

:17:29.:17:30.

Like a wise man once said, don't ask me who -

:17:31.:17:32.

failure doesn't come from falling down.

:17:33.:17:34.

Failure comes from not getting back up.

:17:35.:17:35.

And with that I give you Melvin and Janette's latest

:17:36.:17:38.

Hello and welcome to the chart show. Stay tuned as we count down some of

:17:39.:17:47.

our favourite moments. And what are we counting down today, Melvin? We

:17:48.:17:51.

are counting down our top five Strictly recoveries. These are the

:17:52.:17:58.

pros and celebs that came close to crashing out of the competition

:17:59.:18:00.

literally but they pulled it back and some even collided. Kicking

:18:01.:18:08.

things off, Caroline Flack and passion with their American Smooth

:18:09.:18:13.

which was so smooth it was almost slippy. Talk about styling it out.

:18:14.:18:17.

You drifted across the floor like smoke through the keyhole. You

:18:18.:18:24.

almost fell over, darling, that was a little unexpected. Weeks later she

:18:25.:18:29.

is scored three perfect 40s in the final and was the series 12

:18:30.:18:37.

champion. Slip, what's left? Taking number four, Lisa Riley and Robin

:18:38.:18:42.

Windsor. Their foxtrot went down brilliantly with the judges, you

:18:43.:18:46.

would have thought they were home and dry. That was your best dance.

:18:47.:19:01.

But wait. It wasn't even a celeb that had to recover. Proof that a

:19:02.:19:05.

little stumble doesn't stop you from going all the way to be the top,

:19:06.:19:09.

Lisa Riley was semifinalist. Who's laughing now. Mark Ramprakash in

:19:10.:19:15.

series four made series history. Dancing and energetic routine, their

:19:16.:19:20.

salsa seemed to be going well. Until. The microphones became

:19:21.:19:26.

entangled with the costumes and Karen had to stop the dance,

:19:27.:19:34.

desperately begging Bruce to let them have another go. Is it all

:19:35.:19:40.

right for to have another go? They were allowed to start again. Second

:19:41.:19:46.

time definitely lucky. You turned out down a triumph. Hot enough to

:19:47.:19:53.

cause global warming. Well done. They scored four nines and later

:19:54.:19:56.

went on to become Strictly champions. Just missing out on top

:19:57.:20:03.

spot, Zoe Ball and Ian White who made it all the way to the final in

:20:04.:20:07.

series three, and performed a flamenco Showdance inspired by West

:20:08.:20:14.

side story. They started so well but one of the rival pro dancers must

:20:15.:20:18.

have left a banana skin outcome this happened. Even with a slide across

:20:19.:20:24.

the floor, their dance impressed the judges. I would have expected

:20:25.:20:28.

nothing less. Taking the number one spot, the biggest of all recoveries.

:20:29.:20:38.

In the opening show of series eight Kara took a mighty fall in the

:20:39.:20:41.

beginning of her cha-cha-cha routine. She just kept on dancing.

:20:42.:20:51.

Even with the fall they walked away with an impressive score. That's not

:20:52.:20:59.

bad for the first dance. I got 36 for my first dance. Melvin, I was

:21:00.:21:07.

there, remember. Oh yeah. Back to Cara. Meow, Catwoman, come and take

:21:08.:21:13.

me. Even with the mistake, still the best dance of the night. Cara picked

:21:14.:21:18.

herself up, dusted herself down and went on to be crowned series eight

:21:19.:21:23.

champion. Thanks so much for joining us for the cha-cha-cha Chart show.

:21:24.:21:31.

And we'll see you next time. I think I'm getting much better value at

:21:32.:21:34.

this thing. I'm going to take your job soon.

:21:35.:21:37.

I'm still laughing at Ian falling over.

:21:38.:21:43.

Now, my final guest this evening is often described

:21:44.:21:46.

It's the positively floral, Miss Darcey Bussell!

:21:47.:21:57.

When you are here I automatically sit up straight.

:21:58.:22:03.

Our couples pulled out all the stops, for Musicals Week -

:22:04.:22:06.

My goodness, they did rise to the level. Big productions, props. The

:22:07.:22:16.

lighting, music and everything came together. It was quite emotional

:22:17.:22:21.

actually. I found it emotional and did not want it to end. Like West

:22:22.:22:25.

side story, I was in absolute pieces. They all care so much at

:22:26.:22:37.

this point, hard not to get nervous. You took part in the big opening,

:22:38.:22:41.

and it was very complicated. How much time did you get? I didn't do

:22:42.:22:46.

much, I did a little spin. Sat in a gondola. As you do. No, it was a lot

:22:47.:22:54.

of fun but I had more fun watching everybody else. We get two seconds

:22:55.:22:58.

where we were slotted in because we are often doing other feet is for

:22:59.:23:04.

the next show coming up and stuff. So it was a chaotic Saturday but

:23:05.:23:07.

very exciting, you could feel the buzz. The nervous, very much so.

:23:08.:23:12.

We lost your biggest fan, Judge Rinder, last night.

:23:13.:23:14.

So emotional, there. I think, to watch him, he loved every minute.

:23:15.:23:24.

And you could see it oozing out of his skin. His smile and his mouth as

:23:25.:23:31.

well. I think if anybody he could have done more, he would have wanted

:23:32.:23:36.

to do every hour of the day and sadly he didn't have that

:23:37.:23:41.

opportunity. I spoke to him a little bit for and he said there were so

:23:42.:23:45.

many dances he still wanted to do, and it is so tough. I'm sure Oksana

:23:46.:23:49.

will teach him on the site, they have a beautiful friendship. The

:23:50.:23:57.

semifinalists, are they the four you were expecting? Yes, very happy.

:23:58.:24:02.

It's going to be really hard this weekend, those. It's going to be

:24:03.:24:07.

tough. Because they are all excellent, really excellent. All for

:24:08.:24:09.

different reasons, different strengths. Yeah, really good mix as

:24:10.:24:18.

well. Interesting you say that. We know you are a fan of a topline.

:24:19.:24:22.

I'm going to list each of our couples and I want

:24:23.:24:24.

you to give us your top line on each of them.

:24:25.:24:27.

Well, he has charisma, he is like the 007 of Strictly, I think is

:24:28.:24:38.

quite understated but very surprising always. Incredibly

:24:39.:24:42.

focused and I think what's brilliant is he is a quick learner and you can

:24:43.:24:45.

still tell. She's utterly fearless. Which is so

:24:46.:24:55.

rare to see. I think that her focus and training from gymnastics,

:24:56.:24:57.

extraordinary to watch. She is supple and strong. But so precise.

:24:58.:25:01.

She loves the technique. Musicality. Lyrical. But she also

:25:02.:25:12.

has this great jazz style that's really fab. Her character comes out

:25:13.:25:16.

and she enjoys what she's doing. It depends on her confidence and how

:25:17.:25:22.

she believes in the role. But 20 does it just flourishes.

:25:23.:25:23.

There's not really any style that he can't do. He is so unusual. There's

:25:24.:25:35.

usually one that always difficult for a celebrity, but he doesn't seem

:25:36.:25:39.

to have that. The Latin really suits him. He has an unbelievable focus

:25:40.:25:44.

and determination as soon as he's that stage. His eyes don't waver.

:25:45.:25:50.

You know sometimes when they noticed think he doesn't waver. In the

:25:51.:25:55.

studio his focus is extraordinary. Their contact and how they relate

:25:56.:26:00.

to, sometimes it's kind of too much detail. I'd like it to be simpler.

:26:01.:26:05.

But really quite impressive. All for couples and credible. So many of our

:26:06.:26:09.

wonderful viewers have written in questions for you

:26:10.:26:13.

Craig would like to know: is there a dance you regret

:26:14.:26:15.

well, yes. I think it's always hard at the very beginning when you see

:26:16.:26:22.

such talent and somebody doing such a great job. If you give them high

:26:23.:26:31.

marks, where do you go from there? There's not 15. Definitely with

:26:32.:26:34.

Danny, week four in his quickstep. Was that when he was the conductor?

:26:35.:26:39.

I absolutely loved it. It was brilliant. He just looked the part

:26:40.:26:45.

and fell into it so naturally. And it was a shame we didn't give him

:26:46.:26:49.

ten. If he gets to the final, maybe we'll see it again.

:26:50.:26:50.

Jess wants to know, which celebrities you'd like to see

:26:51.:26:53.

Anyone you'd like to see step up and give it a go? After having Ed Balls

:26:54.:27:02.

I think we need to have Boris Johnson. I don't know if we could

:27:03.:27:13.

handle that. I love it. That hair. Lets see if we can make that happen.

:27:14.:27:16.

Hannah would like to know: who is the celebrity that

:27:17.:27:18.

you were the most sorry to say goodbye to this year?

:27:19.:27:21.

Well always all of them. When you get to the end it's the people you

:27:22.:27:29.

get to know even more because they get further and you see them

:27:30.:27:35.

improve. I suppose it would be Robert, Judge Rinder. Because his

:27:36.:27:40.

love for it. Not just because he's in the room, he's gone now. I think

:27:41.:27:47.

because totally, you could see, he was genuinely loving every minute.

:27:48.:27:50.

And it came out in his dancing instantly.

:27:51.:27:53.

And finally, eight year old Hermione's favourite thing

:27:54.:27:55.

Do you remember how old you were when you did your first cartwheel?

:27:56.:28:02.

Well, I was a bit into my gymnastics as I think I've said before. And I

:28:03.:28:10.

had too much energy and I would cart wheel from a very young age, I think

:28:11.:28:15.

I remember, maybe it was six or something. It's really funny because

:28:16.:28:20.

my oldest daughter was exactly the same, she would cartwheel down

:28:21.:28:23.

corridors, into her bedroom and into the bathroom. I was like, how do you

:28:24.:28:31.

do that in this space? Brilliant questions and a beautiful lady.

:28:32.:28:32.
