Cage, Feldman, Reich, Monk, Part and Benjamin The Sound and the Fury in Concert

Hello, and welcome to this last programme of performances

from the series The Sound And The Fury.

In this compilation, we're going to be hearing music

from the last decades of the 20th century,

featuring the thrilling diversity and energy

of music like Steve Reich's minimalism,

music as performance art by Meredith Monk,

and the once-heard-never-forgotten sounds of the music

of Estonian composer Arvo Part.

We're going to start, though,

with an extraordinary virtuosic piano piece

by John Cage, The Music Of Changes.
