But it wasn't long before Zayn signed his first solo deal.

While Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall carried on releasing

His collaboration with DJ Snake and Danish singer MO

became the most streamed track on Spotify.

That's 526 million and counting.

It was a stellar year for many other recording legends.

Bob Dylan reached the summit with a record of Frank Sinatra covers

coinciding with the 100th anniversary since Old Blue Eyes was born.

Starman David Bowie also brought us new music from his whopping

25th studio album which is set for release on his 69th birthday.
