-We begin with Meinir and the sheep.

-It's a tough task to prepare

-one animal for competition...

-..but for the Interbreed Group

-Championship you need three animals.

-They must complement

-each other perfectly.

-The final shortlist

-is being decided at the moment.

-It's amazing for the Balwen sheep.

-They haven't been anywhere near here

-before so it's great for the breed.

-We also have the Ryeland and

-the Welsh Hill Speckled Face...

-..in the non-accredited section.

-On the other side...

-..the Rouge and the Bleu de Maine

-owned by Percy Tait of Worcester.

-..owned by Dylan and Bethan Jones

-It's a South Wales Mountain breed.

-Yes, I've been doing a fishing

-casting demonstration twice a day.

-I've also been giving talks about

-the coracles and the hunting dogs.

-That's two slots

-of 90 minutes every day.

-You earn your corn by talking

-too so you know it tires you out.

-Did you hear that at home?

-It's tiring work.

-We're sitting in a special spot that

-was created for this year's Show.

-It's a memorial

-to your father, Moc Morgan.

-You were surprised when you arrived.

-The show officials told me

-the bench was paid for...

-..by the Welsh Salmon

-and Trout Angling Association.

-It was made by Malcolm Edwards.

-Last year, we put it where the old

-man talked coracles and casting.

-The Show told me they were going

-to give it a simple concrete base.

-I turned up on Saturday

-and saw this stunning development.

-He's up there somewhere

-smiling down with huge pride.

-He was always here

-in the heat of the action.

-People often complained

-because his voice was so loud.

-He was a one-off.

-You heard the voice and

-you said 'That's Moc Morgan'.

-You know they actually had to change

-the official opening time...

-..of the Show because

-of his booming voice.

-This was his

-favourite show of them all.

-He has a large rock

-named after him...

-..at his favourite fishing spot

-at Pont Llanio on the River Teifi.

-There's another

-on Llyn Egnant, Teifi Pools.

-There's another bench next

-to his favourite pool on the Dyfi.

-And a permanent spot for his bench

-here at his favourite show.

-He'd be stood here now looking at

-this and praising the craftwork...

-..that's gone into constructing it.

-He is a craftsman but this

-hasn't just happened overnight.

-It's taken two to three weeks...

-..just to get the work done

-on the top in time for this week.

-And his name is on the bench.

-He'd have been so proud to sit here

-and talk about this fishing area.

-He'd also be proud of the work

-you and the family have carried on.

-The sun comes out to bless us.

-is the stage for fishermen.

-is one of the show's top prizes.

-Every year, it's awarded

-Mr Peter Hussey is the judge.

-This gent in the colourful trousers

-is a regular exhibitor here.

-It's tartan trousers this year.

-I hope the horse is as memorable

-as the trousers for his sake.

-..can be crossed with the

-Welsh Cobs or the Welsh Ponies.

-That means the type of horse

-produced can vary quite a lot.

-The Section B horses are restricted.

-But the Section C horses can be

-crossed with other sections.

-This exhibitor is known to us.

-He's normally commentating with us

-but he's had success in the ring.

-David Oliver enjoyed

-great success on Tuesday morning.

-Rhoswen Tenor

-certainly hit the high notes.

-Will he be the counter-tenor and

-take the male championship later?

-You've had too much coffee.

-At the top of the line is the

-Jones family with Ashgrove Harriet.

-He's won the championship here

-in the past.

-She's always looking for her foal.

-I've been stewarding at the Show

-for the last seven years.

-I've been coming to the Show

-for forty years.

-During the week I do the

-commentating in the Sheep Ring.

-We've moved on to

-the Young Handlers Competition now.

-The judges are circulating

-asking questions about the sheep.

-I go around first to bed them in...

-..and make sure they aren't too

-nervous for when the judge arrives.

-I think it's more nerve-wracking...

-..to have me and my microphone

-in front of them.

-It's nice to get some banter going.

-I'm down with the kids.

-For youngsters they are all so busy,

-never stopping for breath.

-They work on the farms

-and have schoolwork to do.

-They seem delighted to

-have the break of talking to me.

-We've had heart-stopping competition

-in the Cattle Ring all week.

-On Thursday morning, the beef

-junior bulls take centre-stage.

-They are all hoping to some day be

-good enough to match this colossus.

-You are a former competitor.

-Yes, when I was younger.

-We had fun and got into trouble too!

-You're still involved

-in woodwork and carpentry.

-I'm a carpenter and furniture

-designer. It's my full-time job.

-What are they doing at the moment?

-They're making a picnic bench

-with wheelchair access.

-How much time do they have?

-They start at nine and

-finish at eleven, so two hours.

-Having been there yourself...

-..how much pressure are they

-feeling whilst doing this work?

-Their biggest challenge

-is time pressure.

-You've had a chance

-to take a look at the work.

-Has anything caught your eye?

-There are a few nice designs.

-Some are using traditional

-joinery techniques...

-..which is always nice to see.

-What will the judge be looking for

-in this competition?

-I had a quick word with him and he's

-happy with the standard of work.

-It's all about

-the finishing touches now.

-The designs are good

-as is the workmanship.

-He will just be nit-picking now.

-It was lovely to speak with you.

-has come to the Show this year.

-It's a competition that's drawn

-quite a crowd.

-It's quite inspiring to see.

-This competition was different

-to the usual fare.

-We've had Shire Horses before.

-This time,

-they aren't just in harness...

-..but they're pulling wagons

-behind them.

-The last time something similar

-happened at the Royal Welsh...

-..was 35 years ago.

-I'd been looking for this

-for a long time.

-Ellis Davies who has owned

-Shire Horses was very supportive.

-Through luck, he'd canvassed hard

-and we had the competitors.

-For someone of my age,

-it was quite common.

-I think there are people here

-who have never seen such a thing.

-They were taken aback.

-The judge was looking

-for a clean harness.

-He wanted to see a horse strong

-enough to pull that kind of wagon.

-There was a big difference

-between the wagons.

-The wagons reflected the types

-of landscape, farms and work...

-..they'd be asked to handle.

-The winner was Glenn Cass.

-In second place was John Fletcher

-from Ceredigion...

-..who has supported us for years.

-It's great to see a brand new

-competition here at the Royal Welsh.

-There's been plenty of support
