school. The seventh grade boy with a shotgun in New Mexico. Parents in

tears as a hero staff members stopped him, saving lives. And

redhot warning. Timing -- tiny devices thousands of house fires

each year. -- fuelling thousands. How to keep your family warm and

safe. Good evening. We are all looking for

answers again tonight on another school shooting, this time a seventh

grader with a shock. But this is also the story of some courageous

school officials who convinced a 12 -year-old boy to put that gunned

down. Familiar pic is pouring in from New Mexico. -- pictures. Here

is the latest. The school day started with gunfire.

We have one student or a female subject possibly shot. A 12

-year-old boy bought a shotgun to his school. He opened fire in the

gymnasium. Two students, a boy and girl, were shot. The shooting was

quickly stopped by one staff member, who walked right up to him and asked

him to set down the fire -- fire arm. It's one thing for an armed

state police officers to enter the school and do their job. I commend

the principal and staff for saving many more lives.

Lycee they don't know why the suspect began shooting. -- police

say. His victims, a 13 -year-old girl and an 11 -year-old boy, so do

hospital. The girl is in a serious condition. The boys is critical

after surgery. Keep these children in your prayers, who were shot while

simply sitting in the gymnasium, waiting to go to class. Frantic

parents came to find and halve their terrified kids. Deja vu in a country

where shootings are no longer rare. -- hug.

117 -year-old girl was killed in a previous shooting. -- one

17-year-old. And then the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. There

have been 30 other shootings. Officials say today's shooting began

and ended in less than ten seconds but the search for answers will go

on much longer. We now have an update on the other

shooting we told you about last night at a movie theatre. The former

police captain accused of pulling a gun and killing a movie-goer, text

in on his cellphone during the previews. The 71 -year-old alleged

shooter is wearing a green vest. Here is the man who was killed. A

businessman and father. The lawyer for the former policeman said the

shooting was self defence. The elected victim attacked him, struck

him with an object, which resulted in the gunfire -- the alleged

victim. Witnesses say the object was a bout of popcorn. Now to a big

story out of West Virginia. -- a bag. Many families are finally

turning on their tap water, after that fight in contamination. We have

two questions. Is the war to save? And will officials drink the first

glasses? -- water safe? This woman was told the water is

finally safe again. We were with her when she turned the four it on for

the first time. It looks clear. -- the Fawcett. If you lean in, you can

smell McCreesh. That's the smell of the chemical that has contaminated

the water supply. Now, over 30,000 people can use the water for bathing

and drinking but this woman is not taking a chance. I'm not going to

drink it. Tonight, other communities are in the path of that chemical

flow. It began leaking out of a storage tank on Thursday morning and

flowed into the river, contaminating the water supply. Then it continued

rushing downstream to the Ohio River, travelling over 200 miles to

Cincinnati. Today, Cincinnati closed their two intake valves to protect

the water supply. They say they have enough water in the reservoirs to

last until the toxins flow by. The chemical plant responsible had not

been inspected since 1991. Still, West Virginia state officials say

people can now drink the water and they shouldn't worry. I'm confident

its say. Would you drink some? Short! Want to see me do it? --

sure. Not everyone is so sure. We moved to the west to show you a

videotape of a mysterious arsonist. One man up to 13 fires since last

Wednesday, in the early morning hours. Have you seen this man? They

are looking for this person in the surveillance video, walking back and

forth several times before the fires. Families are forming

neighbourhood watch groups to protect their homes.

Chris Christie is apologising for the traffic jam orchestrated by

members of his inner circle. The man known for his banner called style

took the stage again. Our correspondent has more.

There is a story making headlines, causing an awkward to dramatic

can set your home on fire. January is the biggest month for

house fires. Space suit as are blamed for more than 1000 fires each
