Williams has died aged 63. We are about to bring the ABC World News as

seen across the United States before the news broke of Robin Williams's

death. Welcome. The breaking development

tonight from Saint Lewis. The FBI launches an investigation as an

unarmed teenager was shot and killed by police. The chaos that followed.

What happened before the shooting? Developments in the death on the

racetrack. The NASCAR champion who killed a driver walking on the

track. That incredible image. What police say about the moment. The

storms on the move tonight. The SUV is in a nosedive, flash flooding,

and to search for a man swept away `` SUV's. Swimming with sharks, no

cage or protective gear. Nearly 40 of them and white? `` why? Why are

the Patriots cheerleaders, movie stars, and the Kennedy clan at the

end of the line, or getting drenched tonight? `` all.

Good evening. It is great to have you with us. We begin with the FBI

investigation launched after a teenager was shot in Saint Lewis

Street. So many questions about how it happened and what let to the

moment. We saw the images overnight as anger spiralled into violence.

Some smashing windows. People taking off with what they could grab. The

tension in view tonight. This image from Saint Lewis as protesters come

face`to`face with police. Our correspondent on the 18`year`old who

was supposed to begin college. What he was accused of and the Mayor

tonight who said that if the officer did something wrong, he wants

accountability. Look closely, this was the peaceful

protest outside the Ferguson misery police department. 500 demonstrators

spitting in the eyes of police, demanding authorities charge one of

their own with the murder of 18`year`old Michael Brown ``

Misouri. It's got to stop. This was the chaos putting the city on the

map. Thieves using the protest as an excuse to steal jeans, shoes and

tyre rims. We couldn't stand and watch the looting and destruction of

property. Details surrounding the shooting sparked this fire are in

debate and the FBI is running a review. Neighbours believe the

18`year`old was accused of stealing cigars on Saturday afternoon and say

police were called. We are told that is why they don't store. Around the

block, he was walking with a friend home when the friend says the police

officer rolled up. When he pulled up he said, get the F on the sidewalk.

And other recorded what she could and turned it over to police. I saw

him turn around with his hands up and they shot him and he went down.

Police say one of the men physically assaulted the officer, pushing him

into his car and going for his gun. It was a physical altercation in the

police car between the subject and the police officer at the time that

extended out into the street. If the officer did something wrong, I want

accountability. Brown's mother beyond devastated but hoping for

peace in the city this evening. I wish I was there for him. The owner

of this beauty shop and the store next or say they understand a young

man was killed but it led to all of this and they worry it could happen

again tonight. We turn to the deadly accident on

the racetrack. We learnt NASCAR champion is due at pulls out of

another race. They are looking closely at this video when Kevin

Will Genia climbed out a walking across the track when another driver

swerved to avoid him and hit him. Our correspondent has the latest.

Good evening. He is one of NASCAR's biggest stars but right now his

future is uncertain. That is because there is a key question as to

whether he will face criminal charges over what happened on this

track. This is the video investigators are poring over frame

by frame. Searching for clues in the moments before NASCAR champ Tony

Stewart struck 20`year`old Kevin Ward Jr on the track. Police ask the

public to come forward with videos like this one shot by a spectator as

Stuart bumps into his car on Saturday night, and it spins out of

control. He gets out of the car, Stewart is completing another lap.

As Ward works further into the track, pointing toward Stuart, one

car zooms by and seconds later, Stewart hits him with the right side

of the car. Investigators were at the scene today and tonight they

said they are asking racing experts to review the tapes . There aren't

facts at this point to support probable cause of any criminal

behaviour. Was the track to dark? One fellow driver racing on the

night tweeted: Extremely difficult to see on a dark and dusty track.

When you are looking at this rate track, not a lot of light. ``

racetrack. That is what investigators are looking at. They

will take into consideration the clothing that he was wearing. The

autopsy says that his official cause of death is massive want from.

isn't just heavy rain coming, but it could be a severe storm tomorrow

afternoon and evening from Lexington, Kentucky to Philadelphia

`` New England. Primary fat, damaging wind. `` primary threat.

Now, we have red flagged warnings with critical fire conditions from

Sacramento to Montana and wind gusts could get up to 45 mph in the

afternoon and evening. Then, a cold front comes through, which could

spark lightning. You will be back on your report into

move overseas to the growing crisis in Iraq. Later today, President

Obama warned that they need to come up with a political solution. We see

the view this evening from an American F`18 military operation

under way to support humanitarian aid and airstrikes. There is concern

over Americans on the ground in Erbil and `` in Iraq. Thousands

hiding in the mountains. The team is that he the stories.

They are the faces of innocent victims, forced from their homes.

This woman, old and frail, walked four days to get to this refugee

camp only to find rusty tins of food left to eat. `` of Iraqi of Iraq's

yet the Dees, surrounded by ISIS militants ready to kill them below

American troops fighting in Iraq, now living in what he calls a metal

cage, shared with six families, including a two week old baby. What

unspeakable horrors. Here tonight at this camp, there are people who know

they are lucky to be alive. I want to bring in our chief

political affairs correspondent at our Washington bureau tonight. You

indication of how long this will last from your sources? There have

been nearly 20 airstrikes now but the general who heads operations at

the Pentagon said while the airstrikes have disrupted the

advance on Irbil, ISIS remains very well organised and well`equipped and

the general reiterated that the US has no intention of expanding those

strikes to other areas unless Americans are directly threatened.

Today we did see political progress. Iraq nominated a new Prime

Minister, that is supposed to mean the end of power for Newry and the,

Iran's leader for years, long accused of not sharing power and

exacting political revenge `` Newry Al`Megrahi. Seemingly good news for

Barack Obama, seen here huddling with his national security adviser

at Martha's Vineyard, but it is not clear whether he will leave without

a fight. Thanks very much. We're going to turn out to the heirs

scare, some Jet Blue passengers still recovering from a terrifying

takeoff `` Air scare. It was apparently due to a third. How

common are they? `` Bird. For this family, landing at JFK this morning

marked the end of a horrifying journey. It was touch and go. They

were among the 186 people on board this JetBlue flight, an engine

catching fire during a routine takeoff to JFK from Paul Taricco.

People started screaming and they wanted to bust open the exits with

their arms `` Paul Taricco. It caused the jet to abort takeoff.

Everyone evacuated on slides. Today JetBlue confirms it was caused by a

bird strike. Wildfires like this are rare, bird strikes are literally

common `` while fires. Early this year, a pilot in Florida

captured the moment a bird smashed into his cockpit. In the so`called

miracle on the Hudson in 2009, a double bird strike took out both

engines of a commercial plane. The majority happened during takeoff and

landing, so airports around the country take a number of steps to

keep wildlife awake. From scaring animals off with dogs to simply

cutting the grass more often, making runways less attractive to birds and

safer for planes. Now to an image being repeated

across this country tonight, and all of it to raise awareness about a

debilitating disease. Young reunion look like this? Across

America it might? The Kennedy clan or dousing

And Ethel Kennedy at the end of the line with a little help. It's not

just the Kennedys, it's across the country. This movie star opening up

the ice bags and then dumping the ice. Even the Patriots' cheerleaders

years ago. He is paralysed now and can't speak on his own but his

message is getting to so many. The ALS Association tonight has been

flooded with calls, donations, up 6000%. Tonight his family is

overwhelmed. Who knew that all we needed was a bucket and a bag of ice

to create all the awareness we ever needed? Still much more ahead this

crowd. And the passengers stranded for five hours dangling in the air

on a rollercoaster, why they got to them and why they gave them

Maryland. Five hours in the blazing heat. We have more on the

investigation and rescue. Thrill seekers stranded, a dizzying

75 feet in the air. You don't know if it is going to fall. 17 adults

and seven children tilting sideways, baking in the 85 degrees

August heat. Firefighters climbing onto the tracks, handing out water

and umbrellas. Then, five hours in, a delicate rescue. Attaching straps

to each passenger and one at a time leading them back to solid ground. I

Normally a high velocity tangle of twists and turns, suddenly stopped

just one in 24 million. Still, seems like these leading critics to call

for stricter safety regulations of themepark rides. Theme parks are

only regulated by the industry, by themselves, it's time for regulators

in Washington to take a closer look. Tonight the themepark promises a

closer investigation and they say the safety of guests is the top

priority. A 13`year`old girl making us all take notice, leading a team

of boys to the Little League World Series. She has a blazing 70 mph

and swimming with sharks. Ripping at a bated chain almost 40

sharks in a feeding frenzy. Just yards below, me. No cage, no

chainmail suit. It is OK because I am with Stuart, a 30 year shark

veteran. A native Fahey mien and a sharp lover, out to prove that

sharks are predators but we are not their preferred prey `` a native of

the Bahamas `` shark lover. They just want to eat fish. They are

here, everybody. It's brilliant, oh my god. Still, jumping in with

dozens of them? A wetsuit, flippers and a mask and I was in.

Watch as the bait goes into the water.

Then that 3000 beast of the deep turning tender `` 3000 lb. While I

wasn't quite ready for a belly rub, I did get in a few pets. A magical

oh, my God. Wow. Half of the species are near

extinction because of unnecessary killing. We need to all become shark

ambassadors. That was extraordinary. We were wearing

wetsuits, flippers, making us not look like the fish they do want to
