The miracle at sea. A marine helicopter crashes into the ocean,

tonight. The stunning rescue of a Marine Corps helicopter with 25

sailors and Marines. All of them survived. That evening. Good

evening, David. It is amazing everybody got out alive in a crash

like this in involving one of those helicopters that have a tendency to

flip over and sink fast. It was a super stallion helicopter

just like this one seen approaching the same ship must month. You can

see the landing spot on the deck clearly marked. But landing his

helicopters in the wind and waves on moving ships is challenging.

Today's accident happened on approach. An official says it hit

the ship just before it was about to land and crashed into the sea. This

was a shock. The ship immediately launched a small boat to help rescue

the 25 on board, all trained for exact with this kind of thing. They

plunged to combat the initial fear and understand that self`control is

the key to survival. Only one of those aboard sustained significant

injury. But not bad enough to require evacuation from the ship.

They are vital to missions around the world, especially the volatile

Middle East. And we can provide the Washington.

Any word on the cause? They are not sure what caused the crash. It

certainly was not possible action. Everyone is just happy that

everybody is safe. `` hostile. Turning to the other developing

headline. Millions of Americans driving home after the holiday

weekend, driving through some horrific conditions. Take a look at

this. Counting of Kansas, leaving a lot of damage. And storms moving in

over parts of Iowa. 85 mph winds. Every dot and that the map is a

burst of severe weather reported. 180 reports of severe weather.

Tornadoes touching down today. Millions in the storm zone before it

has done. As millions attempt to enjoy some's

lastgasp, Mother Nature is labouring on Labour Day. An inch of rain fast

filling the streets outside wrench rapids. In Massachusetts, Sunday...

I hope the Hale. It destroyed two of my cars. A tornado with winds of up

to 85 mph. It is incredible. You do not expect to have these things. It

the sixth tornado reported in Massachusetts this year. But it is

not Kansas. This was. Green to golfball size. Those sinister clouds

creeping across the plains. At least five people from Kansas to New York

City were struck by lightning. Stunning pictures. We have severe

thunderstorm watches already in place for Oklahoma and Kansas. That

is the threat tonight. The scene cold front that produced reported

tornadoes in Michigan will sink to the south and east. We are watching

tomorrow for damaging winds, flash floods and large hail. We are

thinking late afternoon and evening. And finally tonight, tropical

depression five. It has come together and looks like it will come

in the next 24 hours. Going to hundred miles south of Brownsville.

The last time we waited this long was 1994. A long wait.

We are turning around to a new crackdown this evening. Stopping

budding terrorists in their tracks. The proposal comes two weeks after

the videos of an executed journalist. A man sounded like he

had a British accent, the executioner. Tonight, the British

government says it is time to seize the passports of suspected

terrorists preventing them leaving the UK fighting in Syria and Iraq.

Back in this country tonight, and ABC News investigation. With all of

that concern in Britain over a homegrown terror, News at 6000

foreign nationals travelled here to America and have now disappeared.

How can they do it? There is an easier way than this for

people to sneak into the country. Here is how. Get a student visa to

go to school and then disappear. As of today, US authority is

investigate the whereabouts of the thousand foreign nationals who have

vanished. Their intentions are unknown. They disappear. That is

what happened with the 9/11 hijack. The authorities say the problem

continues. Pointing I have pointed it out over and over again. It is a

well intentioned programme that allows a million students to study.

An investigation found Homeland Security certifies 86 beauty

schools, 36 massage schools and nine schools that teach horse shoeing,

all valid for a US visa. What is the value in a horseshoe school? I am

not sure. This man heads investigation for immigration and

Customs enforcement. I agree with the problem. They have blended into

the landscape. They have. It is like disappearing. They have brought

criminal charges in some cases, including against five top workers

from this Institute in New York where they offer an easy path to US

visas for the price of tuition. None of the administrators came out when

we showed up and have pleaded not guilty to fraud charges. Despite the

indictment, the operation remains on the Homeland Security list of

schools certified for foreign visas. How can they be on the list?

This is the US, everyone has due process. In the wake of 9/11, calls

for tight rules and FAA approval for flight schools to train foreign

students. In a recent audit, one third of schools accepting students

hadn't been certified. Lots of an Ansett questions.

for the man in this surveillance tape. Nicknamed the AK`47 bandit. He

is wielding a powerful assault rifle. Not only that. Authorities

point to one thing, the suspect claiming to be a former law

enforcement officer. Will he be caught? Our correspondent reports.

Across the west, the all`out manhunt intensifies for this masked man

wanted 45 bank robberies, recently making off with a duffle bag full of

cash in Nebraska. Each time wielding an assault weapon and wearing a

bullet`proof vest. We will track this guy down. Authorities say the

spree began two years ago in California. The bandit robbed a

bank, shooting and wounding a police officer. He fires for shots at the

car. The FBI suspect he called in a bomb threat as a diversion. The

bandit has shown such proficiency with a gun, including here at this

bank. The FBI says they are looking into the possibility he was a former

police officer. During one heist, police say he bragged about being a

former officer and look at these pictures. He is seen wearing a share

vest. `` sheriff. If you are willing to shoot a police officer, it are

willing to do anything. The FBI looking for this bandit carrying the

AK`47. Thank you.

We turn to the block last headline involving the number one killer,

heart disease. We learn more about an experimental

treatment called a potential breakthrough. So promising they

stopped the study in the middle of it all and the next step is FDA

approval. You were telling us this is a big

deal. Absolutely. The first of its kind to treat heart failure. A

combination of two drugs. In this largest ever done study, it was

found to reduce death from heart disease by 20% and improve quality

of life. That is staggering. How long will it take to get approval?

It needs to be studied in African`American patients and in

women. If approved, it could be available in 2015. Highly
