No dancing around the issue. Over a

dozen deals are struck by the US

President Donald Trump on his first

day in China and there are more to

come. A sea of plastic as the

climate conference gets under way we

explore the world's growing waste

problem. It's Thursday. Good

morning, Asia and hello, world.

Thank you for joining us for another

edition of Asia Business Report that

it would start with Donald Trump as

he continues his visit to China

today. Already his business

delegation has sealed 90 deals worth

9 billion US dollars. The hard work

is just beginning. On the campaign

trail he was highly critical of

China and its trade surplus with the

US. There are concerns over

intellectual property and market

access for US companies. Earlier I

spoke with somebody from Fidelity

International. I asked if there

would be progress at the meeting.

It

is a start. If we look back in at

April when Xi Jinping visited Trump

there was a deal. Not much progress

has been made so perhaps they will

be looking at US agricultural

products into China as well as

access to financial markets.

In the

last two trips to Japan and South

Korea he has been calling for a

fair, balanced and reciprocal trade.

Is that possible with the Chinese?

I

would not write it off at this point

in time. When we look at what the

Chinese are looking for, they want

to open up their more. They want to

increase US products into China

itself. You will probably come away

from this trip with more success

than anything else.

So after this

trip he will not call trade deals

with the major Asian economies are

horrible?

The relationship, the

bilateral agreement between the US

and China has improved.

It is less

of a risk. Could still be a

contentious issue and sector between

the Americans and the Chinese?

Things take time so perhaps

investors may be a little impatient

with the speed of deals done or

trade or accessed. That is one thing

to be mindful of. On the other side

of the coin, imagine all that

capital in China. That capital needs

a home and we have seen that in

terms of flows into the Hong Kong

stock market this year. You could

start seeing more agreements with in

other markets.

There seems to be an

issue on financial accessed. Why do

you think is China dragging its feet

in allowing US unfettered financial

accessed to its markets?

It is part

of the opening up story. It is clear

from what President Xi Jinping has

been talking about, the Chinese want

woken up the capital markets and

that is why we are seeing things

like Bond connect. But these things

take time. Investors need to be

patient. We see the market as a

whole evolve

patient. We see the market as a

whole evolve in the Chinese want to

have US involvement.

In other

business news, former executives of

Yahoo! And at the facts have

apologised at a hearing in

Washington for massive data breaches

that impacted millions of users. But

some people say it is too little too

late. They are now looking at

increased regulations. Imagine a

position.

They are at the Senate,

they are facing a growing for some

of them. This is not the first time

they have faced a grilling for their

performance after the hack was made

public. There is not much that they

could say and this is why you heard

a lot of apologies from both Yahoo

and Equifax. Both companies said

that, look, we worked with law

enforcement officials when we first

learned of these hacks. We will

continue to do so. In fact, the

former head of Equifax had said,

look, I think there needs to be some

more cooperation between public and

private in terms of trying to secure

people's data.

From iPhones to our television

production, Apple has acquired the

rights to a new drama series as the

tech giant competes with Amazon and

collude in their ambition to take

over Hollywood. For more on this

story were joined by Monica. They

are awash in cash and they can

purchase whatever they want.

Yes.

Including a television show with

Jennifer Aniston and Reese

Witherspoon. They have committed to

do series of this unnamed drama

series that will be about American

morning television. At this point, a

spokeswoman says they are looking to

bring in another big name, Steven

Spielberg. They want to reboot his

1980s sci-fi series. What we do not

know is when the series will get on

the air or how viewers will watch

them. They have the hardware for

iTunes where you can purchase it but

we wonder if there will be a

platform. They have a long way to go

to catch up with the streaming

networks. They have competitors such

as Amazon, Netflix as well as Lulu

which already... They are deeply

entrenched in Hollywood at this

point. Hopefully these are a list

names will help them make up for

lost time.

The United Nations climate change

talks kick off in Germany. Aside

from reducing carbon emissions

another majored in -- major talking

point -- point has been the rising

amount of traffic pollution. These

spoke to Richard Cook, a consultant.

I asked him how Asian consumers are

responding to the issue.

Consumers

can play a role. If you go around

the region people are beginning to

ban certain objects and this is a

motive for consumers. They can see

this degree around and is to breed

is branded by the companies who are

producing it as well and that is the

problem. Groups by Greenpeace are

lobbying these brands.

Are consumers

willing to pay a premium for

environmentally friendly groups?

Chinese consumers are willing to pay

a premium for these goods. When it

comes to countries like Indonesia,

Thailand, around half say they would

like to see more eco- friendly

packaging. I think this is starting

to move into the mainstream. What we

see now are players like Procter &

Gamble putting Ocean market on the

market in terms of recycled ocean

plastic products. We are seeing this

in mainstream consumer goods. And we

think this will become the new

normal, what consumers expect brands

to be doing.

How would you like to own a slice of

Scotland that would grant you the

title of Lord or Lady? The idea

behind a high land titles group. I

caught up with the spokesman to find

out more.

We are in two nature 's

reserves in the Highlands of

Scotland is. The way that we fund

and maintain these nature reserves

is by raising funds by letting

people purchase and acquire the Rome

one square-foot plot on the reserve.

It is a souvenir plot and because

you own land in Scotland, you can

adopt the title of lead. And lead

translates as Lord or Lady. Is the

way that we fund it is by selling

one square-foot of land.

And what is

the money used for?

Because towards

the conservation of the land. We

replant native Scottish trees. We

have a one acre loch there which is

brought a lot of life back. The

title is a courtesy title. So today

I have presented to you your very

own one square-foot plot.
